    Chicken Marsala
    Teresa M.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is beautiful. The decor is lovely, dim lighting for an intimate setting for your party[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], however, there is so much lacking here. There are expectations that come with a restaurant when they have a certain price point. There is a huge disconnect with Chicago Prime Italian. The quality of their food does not match the price points. We celebrated Mother's Day here and split the Shrimp De Jonghe appetizer (forgot to take a picture). That was delicious. The sauce was very flavorful. If I do ever find myself back here, I would just order this and a salad. For mains, my mom and I ordered the chicken Marsala, my husband ordered the veal parmigiana, my brother ordered the lobster ravioli, and my dad just had a wedge salad and calamari. My brother said he enjoyed his dish, my dad was fine with his, nothing above and beyond, pretty average, the chicken Marsala and veal parmigiana was average. The highlight of the dish were the veggie sides of broccolini and organic veggies, and the mashed potatoes that came with the chicken Marsala were delicious. The dishes themselves - chicken Marsala is one of my favorites. They charge $34 and I've had better chicken Marsala for under $20. I feel like I've read somewhere they make everything fresh and in-house, my sauce didn't taste that way. It tasted like it was pre-made and wasn't velvety smooth like good chicken Marsalas I've had. The texture of the sauce was just very off, and the flavors were nothing to scream home about. My husband was disappointed in his veal parmigiana. The red sauce wasn't that great, and the pasta was very dry. If it's true this was all homemade in house, they need better protocols. Nothing tasted like it was made from scratch. This was the only restaurant that had full availability for us to book a last minute Mother's Day reservation (shame on us for waiting until last minute), and I can see why. I would be shocked to see this restaurant still here in 10 years if I'm being honest, unless they up their game. We love splurging for special occasions, and this place is just not it. Nothing was terrible, just average. No restaurant should be charging premium prices for average food. Service was average with some hiccups, which is totally fine. We weren't upset at all - forgot to bring us a couple of things, took about a half hour to receive our salads which seemed a little long, then the wait for our mains did feel a bit long. We know things can happen, but again, when you charge a premium price, that comes with expectations. This is more of a reflection on management than the wait staff. Would I go back? Only if one of my friends or family members said they really wanted to go. I wouldn't willingly go out of my way to eat here again.

We had a wonderful experience. Our server Bratislav took great care of us and the food was excellent. I tried the special Lobster Risotto and my husband had the chicken Parmesan and they were both great!

Thank you again to everybody at Chicago prime!! Birthday dinner was fantastic for my mom. We enjoyed our bruschetta, calamari & complimentary bread. Our drinks were made with lots of love!!! For sure. Our dishes ranged from carbonara pasta, Alfredo pasta, 8oz filet - Oscar style & a tomahawk with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfect and super tender. Portion sizes are pretty big, we all had leftovers. Thank you to our server, she was amazing friendly and attentive. Another thank you to the chef for greeting us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to be back again.

Never disappointed. Atmosphere is upbeat, staff is enjoyable to converse with. Alejandro was our Waitstaff made our experience even that more entertaining. Our libations were stellar. Martinis: Ciao Bella, Lemon drop, French. Ginger ale, Negroni. Appetizers: Fried Calamari, Goat Cheese Balls, Crab Cakes. Let's not forget the freshly baked Bread with EVOO & Parmesano Regano Cheese. Two orders of the Drunken Filet, Gnocchi ala Pesto, Fettuccine Alfredo with Italian Sausage, Eggplant Parmesan with Scallops. Desert: 4 orders of Creme Brûlée & Wicked Chocolate Cake. Looking forward to returning again. Mangia & Cheers!

Enjoyed a great ribeye. I am not sure the cost should be $70 probably more on the $50 range. Before and after photos of the Ribeye.

My boyfriend and I came here for New Year's Eve and had an overall great experience! We had a reservation for 7 (it was strictly by reservation only), and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. It was super busy so I imagine that didn't help. Our waiter provided incredible service and the food was excellent quality, so we had a really good time and I would definitely come back in the future despite the wait. We ordered the bruschetta to start and it was just perfect. I ordered the lobster tail and steak with vegetables on the side for dinner. The lobster tail is huge and delicious (they offered a 9oz and 8oz). I ended up ordering the 8oz with my steak (it was a better deal). I ordered my steak medium well and it was cooked perfectly until I got more towards the middle. No big deal! It was so good regardless and we had already eaten quite a bit of food. My boyfriend really loved the rigatoni allá vodka. He ordered it with the Italian sausage and he was raving about it! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing- really low lighting in there for dinner service so we really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great restaurant to eat at on New Year's Eve!

Good food and service! This restaurant sits closer to upscale dining than casual dining (think white tablecloth, but with a sheet of paper on top for easier cleanup). Holiday decor is up and looks very festive. Great for dates, celebrations and business meals. I heard 3 birthday songs the last time I dined in. I enjoyed the convenience of making a reservation on OpenTables. Complimentary bread offered 2 different kinds of bread (bonus points for having olive oil and Parmesan cheese at the table). The mains came with choice of soup or salad. Grey Goose martini $18 Rigatoni alla vodka $22 - Noodles perfectly cooked and tasty sauce. Lobster ravioli aretina $38 - Great sauce, topped with chunks of crab meat. Seafood Carbonara $41 - Creamy sauce, just how I like my carbonara. Side of organic vegetables $9 - Big portion, enough to share with 4 people. Roasted veggies included bell peppers, zucchini, carrots and onions. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2023

Another 5-star experience at Chicago Prime Italian! I met an old friend and we dined the night away. The service is always primo at the Chicago Prime Restaurants (there is also a Chicago Prime Steakhouse about a mile away). We had reservations and were seated right away, presented with menus, and offered drinks. My friend had a glass of Malbec and I stuck with soft drinks. We ordered our meals, I had the branzino and my friend had a chicken salad. Both came with side salads. The branzino was fantastic. It was Sautéed with Asparagus, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Fresh Herbs & Garlic White Wine Sauce and was an absolute hit. For the salad, I had their vinaigrette dressing, which was probably the best I've had. Their prices are a little high for what they offer, though. We knew that before we went and it did factor in somewhat, but not enough to alter the review. This place is great!

    Merry Christmas!

We celebrated our Christmas Eve at Chicago Prime Italian. Party of 10. Everything, absolutely everything, was a 10 out of 10. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere with the high ceilings and the ambience of the violinist was an extra touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait staff was very attentive, the food was hot and absolutely delicious. I was raised by an Italian mother so I know good Italian food. The owner AJ was on the floor making certain everything was perfect, and... spumoni for dessert!!

Food was great, service ok. Our sever was not very attentive, once the food came, he did not come back for about 15-20 minutes

    Is the meat halal?

Yes the steaks are Halal and so is their Brick Chicken.

Is it cold in the outdoor section?

NO. It is not cold. They have really good heaters set up. It's awesome.

Can My Girlfriend and I get a candlelight dinner here?

I would suggest you call and request candlelight. The owner is an awesome guy and I'm sure they would do their best accommodate any requests.

We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and pleasant attitude made it easier when we had three little ones wanting to walk around after eating and trying to keep them entertained at a table.
