Outback Steakhouse is definitely one of those staple restaurants for me. We had such a good meal -- I got the Bigger Filet with blue cheese and bacon butter, a baked potato, and creamed corn, and we also got a Bloomin' Onion for the table. Everything hit the spot and the steak was especially good. I know some Outback locations have been closing, which honestly makes me sad because it's one of those classic places I've always loved having around. I really hope they stay open! This was by far the WORST steak i have ever had. I ordered through uber eats for my first time trying outback. I ordered the delmonico steak medium.....this steak was so ruff no pink in the middle and as flat as a skirt steak!!! Mind you i ordered a 15oz steak and there was more fat on the steak than actual steak i only got a good 3 bites out of the steak before i had to toss it to the side with the amount of fat on it!!! So disappointed $50 for this???? I will never be ordering from here again learned my lesson, i'll stick with texas roadhouse where they don't skimp you on your steak! read more

First time at Outback, was expecting an "okay" meal. It was a surprisingly positive experience. We plan to go back. Servers are upbeat, personable, and do a great job. There are tablets at each table for entertainment. Food was solidly good. We got medium-rare sirloin, Queensland pasta, blackberry cooler drinks, and some sides (bacon mac, mashed potato, fresh steamed broccoli, baked potato). My aunt ordered steak and shrimp with baked potato. Large TV screen at the bar. The whole place had great vibes! My family and I have been coming here a couple times and each time, the service and food were great. Also love it that there's parking spot, great seating areas and overall ambiance is nice. I had their Canberra chopped steak, chimichurri filet, and down under delmonico ribeye and they're all delicious. One time, my steak came out well done instead of medium like I ask but they quickly remade it and it was good. This place will be our usual spot for steak and dinner. Not too shabby - I was not expecting anything over the top but something similar or less than Texas Rodhouse. I wish I got my pictures but we had to get the onion blossom and the complimentary bread was top notch. You always get a star in my book if you have complimentary anything to start haha We also ordered the chicken wings, which again weren't too bad. First off, we eat here fairly often and I have no issues with the food or service, which are both excellent. But when I used the machine on the table to pay my bill it only shows the final total, which obviously includes the tax, and then shows the different tip percentage options. First off, I'd like the bill to be itemized but at a minimum I want to see the meal items subtotal and then the tax added after that and then the "grand total". Lumping the tax in seems deceptive to me when it comes to figuring out a tip. This seems like a way to pad the tip without telling us they are padding the tip.:) read more

I had made a reservation, but it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately (which is surprising to me for a Sunday afternoon.) Service was a little slow, but our waiter was very nice. It look some time before we were able to order. We also waited a while to flag down someone to get sauces or other things we needed. Besides the service being a little slow, the food was delicious and the drinks were good and pretty strong (but I'm also a lightweight..?) Since there weren't too many people in the restaurant, it was overall a peaceful dinner for us. Overall, nothing too crazy or extraordinary, but also nothing horrible. I stopped here over the weekend for a carry out order. While the food was good, the Take Away lobby needs a deep cleaning. The shelves looked as though someone made a quick pass with a rag but didn't take the time to go along the edges or corners. I was visiting my kids and grandkids from Florida, and we had just finished exploring the Lincoln Park Zoo. On the way home, we decided to stop at Outback Steakhouse in Skokie. My sons wanted to go somewhere else, but as Papa, I chose your restaurant because I knew you could prepare a grilled chicken exactly how I like it--plain, with no seasoning--something other places often can't accommodate. My sons were pleasantly surprised by your selection of alcoholic drinks and food specials. Keep in mind, we have four little ones under the age of seven. The games on the tables were a lifesaver, as each child had their own machine, and it was amazing how absorbed they were--we hardly noticed they were there! Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Debbie as our server. The food was excellent, and Debbie was attentive, friendly, and engaging. If you are that short staffed maybe you should close or get the managers to start taking tables. My wife and I went to Outback for their Veterans Day special meals. We both really enjoyed our steaks. I had the chopped salad with Western dressing as 1 of my sides. My bud had a hankering for Outback Steakhouse last Sunday, so I went along with his dinner suggestion as I've not been to one in a long long time. The wait for a table was about ten minutes at this suburban Skokie location, not too bad for a Sunday evening I guess. My meal at Outback was hits and misses. I ordered a sirloin and ribs combo with a six-ounce center-cut sirloin and half slab of ribs. The steak was medium well but was virtually flavorless. The ribs tasted far better than the sirloin. The sweet potato and bread were pretty good, but the mixed veggies were fairly bland in a healthy sort of way. The Bloomin' Blonde Ale "middy" size was a decent sized mug of refreshing house beer and a bargain at only $4. My bud seemed to have no complaints about his sirloin, baked potato, and house salad. Service was pleasant but erratic, as we had to ask for utensils when our meals were presented to us. I had leftovers of the steak and ribs, and I had to douse the steak with BBQ sauce at home to salvage that piece of meat. So I have to give Outback a rating of 3 stars, as the restaurant has "steak" in its name but that was the most disappointing part of two meals. read more

It took her quite some time to come back and take the actual order, which made me irritable, but she was friendly and apologized. (Emily) When my side salad arrived, I think the bottom was dirty. Probably because the serving counter needs to be wiped down. Not appetizing. I didn't tell them... The dinner though was good. The 6oz medium rare steak was exactly that. And the lobster tail was cooked okay (difficult to compare lobster tails in chicago when you're from Seattle) the lobster tail is a little on the small side but tasted pretty good. The steak was more heavily seasoned with pepper, could've used a little garlic or a sprig of rosemary. Overall not bad. read more

Haven't been to Outback in Skokie/Niles for a long time. Took my mom there for her birthday lunch. I had the Sirloin & Alice Springs Chicken, mom had the Queensland Chicken & Shrimp Pasta. Food was quite good, but the service was absolutely awful. After almost 10 minutes, we finally got a server who wouldn't even crack a smile. I ordered diet coke and mom ordered decaf. Decaf was ice cold. We did not get the usual warm, brown bread. Other tables did. While our food came out in a timely manner, the service continued to be bad. No one came by to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. From the server to the hostess, service is a big thumbs down! Server missed out on a good tip. Tonight we ordered dinner to be delivered. When it arrived the container with my husband's dinner had leaked on everything beneath it. The pork chops not only had "marinated" in chicken stoc/broth but were excessively fatty!!! My mashed potatoes were mashed with chicken stock/broth not milk or water!!! I'm mildly allergic to chicken!!! Chicken and other seas are not noted on the menu!!! I know I'm not the only person with rarely encountered allergies!!! But, to top all that each container opened allowed big black ants to escape!!! I not only prefer my food without unnecessary seasoning, i.e. natural but, also, without insects, animal waste, etc!!! The minute we came in to the doors the host didn't greet us we had to greet him, which was unprofessional and already made us feel weird. Then, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. We got our drinks and she said she's be back with our straws but did not come and was attenting the table next to us and gave them straws. I had to get her attention because we were waiting for them to drink our drinks. Never checked on us to let us know foods on our way, any refills, nothing. Once the food got there it was warm.
