Outlaw Ribeye with Steakhouse Mac & Cheese
    Melissa L.

This was my first time visiting LongHorn, and overall it was a great experience! I ordered the ribeye steak parmesan crusted, cooked medium well, with a side of fries, mac & cheese, and brussel sprouts. The ribeye itself was flavorful and cooked nicely, though I felt the parmesan crust was a little overpowering for my taste--I'd definitely try it again without the crust next time. The fries were a bit cold, the mac & cheese was decent, but the true standout was the brussel sprouts... hands down the star of the meal! What really made the visit memorable was our server, Janice. She greeted us warmly, had such a fun and genuine personality, and really elevated the experience. Her hospitality was top notch and made my first visit to LongHorn feel extra special. I'll definitely be back--next time for the ribeye, minus the crust, and of course those amazing brussel sprouts!

I treated a friend to LongHorn Steakhouse for driving me to Lombard for an official driving evaluation since it's located close to both of our homes. I haven't been here since they opened many years ago. A late lunch and too early for dinner, a small crowd filled the dining area. There were plenty of parking spots, and my friend and I could enjoy a quick meal. We both decided to have the chicken sandwich. I haven't had fries since my stay at Shirley Ryan. It was really, really good. I enjoyed the fries so much and I ended up taking the sandwich home. A tall glass of lemonade was refreshing. My friend said the chicken sandwich was delicious. I cannot wait to taste it when I have it for dinner tonight. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I'd visit again if I needed a quick meal.

My comment for the rude waitress

I visted this establishment twice while I was in town. I was actually in Chicago from Dallas, . I was here for a business conference.. I don't actually eat meat but went over to see what they have to serve. They have awesome mushroom really good and I like their bread.. I had great service on Thursday night when I was here so I went back Friday for lunch and had the rudest waitress At the bar!I placed my ordered and I came back and my food was packed to go.. I said oh you packed my food to go. She yes I thought you said it was to go and I said no actually you didn't give Me an opinion. I took my food I paid for it and I left. I left her a note and let her know that she was rude and that I was felt like I was stereotype and that my daughter is a waitress and I'm actually a good tipper.DO BETTER The Longhorn steakhouse!

Always a great experience at this location! The food, service is great! The food is great as well! The mashed potatoes are amazing! The steaks are great as well as the Parmesan crusted chicken! We usually get either the shrimp appetizer or the chicken wings (both are good) but this time we got the spinach dip. The dip was good but I wish they had regular chips instead of pita. The wait also can be kinda long depending on the day, seems like they might be short staffed potentially.

First time ever here. Me and my friend were craving steak and we just decided to come here on a whim. Service was great. Our server was very attentive. The place has a nice chill vibe. You can actually dress up a bit if you wanted to. Parking isn't an issue. I ordered their ribeye cooked medium and it was perfect. Seasoned well, pink in the center as promised. Super tender. It was delish! We also had a side of grilled shrimp which i fekt was a tad too salty. The baked potato was missing a bit of seasoning and topping ao hey put them together and its perfect! Lol Also loved the ahrimp and lobster chowder and the seasoned mushroom! And their warm bread and butter. Just thinking abt it makes my mouth water!!! Ohhh soo yummy!!! Im definitely coming back! Happy eating!!!

Great lunch for 15-20$ ! Ill come back Atmosphere is good Waiter is nice Too many words they ask Boring to rewiew

Food was absolutely delicious! Had the 6oz. Renegade Sirloin with 8ct. Redrock Grilled Shrimp with baked potato and corn on the cob. The steak was cooked to perfection, same as the shrimp. Now the desert .... It was an amazing pairing of ice cream and cake. The server was really nice and not overwhelming. The seating and overall restaurant was surprisingly pleasant.

Tonight my parents wanted to come here and invited us to join them. My husband thought to put in our names since it was Saturday night which was very smart because they were crowded but we got a table right away. Everything was excellent! I love the strawberry & pecan salad and our filets were done perfectly! My mom had the lamb chops which were well seasoned and very tasty. We love their mashed potatoes and loaded baked potatoes although tonight I had a baked sweet potato. Our waitress forgot that we asked for water so we had to remind her, but the rest of the evening she was attentive and prompt. We had an enjoyable meal and will definitely be back.

Service: It took about 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress was very nice and took our order quickly. She seemed to be handling about 8-10 tables, so I'm assuming they are slightly short staffed. Despite this, best waitress I've had this year. Ambiance: Nice atmosphere. I like the decor, low lighting and home-like feel without being cheap looking. I liked the artwork on the wall, and the cow. Food: I had a 6oz medium rare steak that just fell apart it was so tender. The lobster, it was an average lobster. Being from Seattle and knowing what a good fresh lobster tail should look and taste like, this lobster was the usual midwestern fare. Slightly smaller. Basked potato was good but could've had more stuff on it. Asparagus was perfectly baked and seasoned.

What a difference a few yrs make. During the pandemic this restaurant was dead. No business at all I would take advantage of the specials that they would offer during that time. Family meals were very inexpensive and good. Tonight my in-laws decided they wanted a steak dinner and took us to Longhorn for dinner. There were 4 at our party and three of us ordered the 6oz filet and my mother-in-law ordered grilled Lamb chops, we all enjoyed the dinners, and my filet was one of the best I've had in a long time. It was cooked perfectly med rare and seasoned to perfection I had a loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. My only issue was I didn't think my margarita was strong enough it was short on Tequila. Our server(Lia) was very nice and professional she was very attentive, And the crowd noise was low and comfortable. I highly recommend the Longhorn location in Skokie, Illinois

It's located right down the street from Northwestern University's football stadium (whatever the heck they're naming it). This is a nice hidden gem in Evanston. Not located downtown, it may have a chance to stick around a while. As Jane V. noted in her review, you are greeted by a delicious smoky smell when you enter the restaurant. It was an inviting smell (at least for me), others in our group thought we were walking into a barbecue joint and were less than thrilled, but the menu put them at ease as it has a lot of options. There were five of us and one couple decided to share a couple appetizers as their entrees. They ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Bites, and the Macho Nacho. They were huge portions easily enough for us all to share. However, my wife and I don't see eye-to-eye with our eating habits (she is mostly vegetarian and I'm a card-carrying carnivore), so she was not about to share the smoky wings and cheesy tots with me. I opted for the Chicken Vesuvio entree, and she and our other friend both ordered the Inside-Out Grilled Cheese. I would say most the sandwiches looked good (no portobello for me, thanks). I would say though, the desserts are pretty generic, so we opted out, but their is a door inside the restaurant to the donut shop next door (which was closed), but I wanted to try that place, so I'll have to make another trek out there for them and review them later. I'm amazed that the donut shop, DB3 Donuts, does not appear on their menu at all, despite having a connecting door from one establishment to the other, but alas, I've heard their apple crisp and brownie are good, but neither were too appealing that night. All meals were delicious and I definitely need to go back and try other dishes. And may DB3, if they are open. Give this place some love as it is a nice gem in Evanston.

So much so that I ordered the smoked Sampler plate, and was I glad I did. I started off with their Top O' The Morning special Saint Patrick's cocktail (Titos, Curacao, and orange juice shaken and poured over ice). I really loved this drink. My hubby had a Margarita that was just delightful. Our appetizers were: Angry Shrimp (really delicious) shrimp with a spicy tomato garlic sauce. Served over polenta cake. Ahi Tuna Wanton (mango jicama salsa, avocado, and teriyaki sauce) This should be their signature appetizer). The presentation is impeccable. It appealed to our eyes before the 1st bite. And,the first bite, as well as the rest, was wonderful. We would gladly return here just for this. Our entrees were: Grilled Salmon with corn risotto, grilled asparagus, smoked tomato aioli. The salmon was well cooked to medium, not too dry, and not too rare. The plate was well balanced and everything was very tasty. Smoked Sampler My favorite! Rib tips, brisket, pulled pork, Texas toast, cole slaw. For dessert: Chocolate Brownie Apple Crisp Both were so good that we did not want to share! The next time you are in the Evanston area, you really must stop in for their delicious food!

I always choose a cozy booth and the cheerful staff is always extremely helpful with meal descriptions and suggestions and always offer fresh bottles of water letting you sit back European style and leisurely enjoy your meal in peace without rushing you out. I've had many delicious breakfasts here which include the American breakfast with eggs made your way, a large serving of tiny roasted potatoes, toast with bread of your choice and a protein option like chicken pork or bacon I've also tried an extremely tasty vegetarian omelet filled with vegetables, tomato ragout sauce and goat cheese accompanied by the breakfast potatoes. This morning I ordered the smashed Avocado toast with goat cheese and eggs sunny side up on crispy ciabata toast and breakfast potatoes made extra crispy. The happy hour menu here is an extremely good value with burgers only $8 and a huge serving of French fries only $3 There are many healthy options here too with a variety of soups, freshly cooked fresh and salads When I ordered dinner here I chose the pasta marinara with freshly shaven slices of cheese and a chocolate Gelato for dessert. Kudos to the chef he always prepares each meal with attentive care and love. Fabian has been my primary server for breakfast so a huge thank you to Fabian for the smiles and good service. This restaurant is located right next to the Hilton Orrington hotel in Downtown Evanston. I've yet to try the brunch but I don't really drink alcohol; however I've heard their weekend brunches are extremely delicious and shouldn't be missed. Order with confidence-- I've never had a bad meal here and the vibes here are always cheerful, peaceful, cozy and welcoming. Dress up or dress casually and try a bit of everything. At no time did anyone acknowledge someone was celebrating a birthday. My wife ordered the Salmon dish which comes with a bacon based sauce. She doesn't eat bacon and asked if they could use a different sauce. She was told No. So she had it plain, she said it was well cooked. The broccoli and potatoes on the other hand were overly salted, the potatoes were undercooked and cold, the broccoli was also cold. Normally my wife would have sent the food back, however, since she was with friends she didn't do so because she didn't want to ruin the mood of their celebration. Surprisingly, unlike most restaurants, the Evanston Corner Bistro doesn't celebrate birthdays, they don't even have a candle to put on a dessert. My wife decided she was going to celebrate with dessert anyway, so she ordered the NY Cheesecake with Strawberry sauce. It came out with something more like Strawberry Jam. My wife liked the idea of having the jam better than sauce. The problem was it turned out to be RASPBERRY jam NOT strawberry. Luckily my wife isn't ALLERGIC to Raspberries. She said the cheesecake was delicious. She did say it seemed to take forever for dessert to come out from the kitchen. Then there was a service charge added to the bill, but NO WHERE in the restaurant or on the menu is this mentioned. My wife also commented that there was only ONE server, and as more people arrived the service became slower. It seemed that the one server was just overwhelmed and didn't smile. In summary, and IMHO this isn't a restaurant for celebrating birthdays! Based on this experience my wife said she wouldn't go back unless she was going with a group of people who decided to go there. My wife said it's a shame Evanston Corner Bistro was one of her favorite places.
