So glad I gave this Outback another try. On a Wednesday night my husband and I met up with a friend for food and drinks. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly busy for a Wed and the large bar was filled to capacity. The amicable hostess took my name and told us it would be a short wait. Since I prefer eating at the bar 3 seats opened up before our table was ready, so we grabbed the available bar seats. Although they were extremely busy the bartender made sure the bar was clean and was attentive to all the patrons. Our friend and I ordered margarita flights which came with 4 different flavors all tasty. My husband had their top shelf, Rita. Our food came out fast and was prepared well. All three of us ordered the shrimp on the barbie entree. I enjoyed my meal with broccoli; my husband had rice and broccoli with his meal and our friend had a salad and French onion soup she said their French onion soup was the best she'd had in years. The Blooming Onion was the best part of the experience. It took a while for someone to offer any service. The service was poor at best. My wife and I arrived for a late lunch at 5:00 PM. While I'm not one to enjoy chain restaurants, I have to admit I had a great experience. Our server David was absolutely phenomenal and was attentive when needed and made sure we had everything we needed. I was hesitant to order ribs from outback but I have to say they were probably the best ribs I've had in the state of Georgia and seven years. My son steak was perfectly cooked a temp, the grilled chicken was juicy, and everything was seasoned well. So I came here tonight looking for a good place to eat and it was sort of realized. I ordered a ribeye and shrimp with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. Here's how it went. The Good: - I was seated very quickly at 5:30pm on a Friday. - Servers were friendly, but not overly so. - The bread is delicious - The flavor of the steak was good - The ribeye was tender - Broccoli was not overly steamed The Not So Good: - I was slipping and sliding on the seemingly "clean" floor, but once I sat and got a closer look I realized there was a thin film over the whole floor. Grease perhaps? - All of the food is summed up in two words: TOO SALTY! Flavor was ok but it was hard to find it behind all the salt. - Seemed they wanted me out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. I like it when they don't make me wait for the check, but don't press me with it. I like to eat and enjoy a meal. - I know it's a steak house, but this place was way too expensive for only mediocre food with too much salt. - I witnessed the birthday song for another party and the staff performed it very half-heartedly. I travel, and so I don't expect much from a restaurant or Uber Eats/DoorDash. However, as low as my expectations were, Outback managed to do worse. I ordered the Alice Chicken, baked potato, salad with ranch. I ordered around 3:30. I got my meal around 4:30. Picture a cold meal. I wish it was that nice. Did you put in the refrigerator first? And I got the smallest potato in the freezer world. Had I not seen the potato jacket, it might have been mistaken for a round red potato. The potato toppings were separate -- that's fine. But the bacon bits looked raw, it was a tiny amount of all, and the potato (small) was so cold that even my own softened butter went nowhere. The butter provided was put jn the same container as the butter -- try that mixture. How can you mess up a salad? The tomatoes were fine, as were the cucumbers. Really never pictured brown lettuce as my choice. Also, it was full of the "chunks" of the lettuce -- you know when you get to the basic stop of a head of lettuce and it's just hard lettuce? Yeah, that's what I paid for. I don't know if it was the delivery or the restaurant, but willing to bet it was a combination of the two. Okay, my last review of this place was decidedly meh, so it is with great pleasure that I am giving them a much higher rating. I had the prime rib with veggies and a baked potato (as well as a cocktail), and it was near perfect. Haven't been to one of these in a long time and this goes against our rule to eat local when we travel but this was walking distance from our hotel and I was craving steak. Pretty standard far but I was disappointed in the steak. It had nice flavors and was cooked well but lots of gristle. Very chewy in parts. Outback is good in a pinch but they seem to be stuck in the past. Also better quality meat would go a long way as well. Wasn't very happy with our dining experience. Steak was under cooked, it was taken to the kitchen to cook a little longer. Now our other food was cold because it took about ten minutes to get the steak back. Mentioned it to our waitress, she said to be sure to bring it up to the manager when he brings our steak back to us. Another restaurant my parents enjoy that we usually frequent when we go down to visit. I usually get the prime rib, which is flavored very nicely but this time it seemed a little overcooked (I ordered it medium rare.) Everyone in my party got prime rib, ribeye or salmon and everyone was happy with their meal. I do think that Outback's seasoning is superior to other chain steakhouses as it's not too salty but very tasty. Outback is also an awesome place if you're eating keto as the protein and vegetable options are better than most other similar restaurants. My vendor group picked here to eat, so I followed the herd. I'm pretty much a pescatarian now so didn't have too many options. They were pretty busy for a Wednesday night in Albany, Ga, no less. I ordered a draft beer ... typical major chain selection of bud light, shock top, Yuengling and boring boring beers. Did the large Yuengling for $6, which wasn't bad. They bring you warmed bread for the table, and it was really darn good (the sweet creamy butter just makes it much better). We had a bloomin onion for the table (so tasty but so dang bad for you). My friend ordered a shrimp/lobster jalapeño appetizer for us too (kinda like bang bang style) but it didn't have any kick to it. Seriously, the jalapeño I ate didn't even start a spark. My meal, I did the bourbon bacon salmon, minus the bacon, with veggies. That was actually really good and cooked perfectly. I'd recommend it! The waiter did a great job of putting up with us. Not sure I'd make this a stop again. I'd prefer better beer options but I understand that's not why you go to Outback. I will say the dessert menu looked amazing. read more

Food was good however when we left we did not have all of our receipts. We had given our server our phone number but possibly it was written down incorrectly. Called the restaurant and they said they were unable to help. You may say why ande the reward points so important? When we have a party of 6 the points can give us 5 or 10 dollars off of our next visit. When we contacted the rewards personel we received the following email. Unfortunately, we need the itemized receipt to manually add your visit. Our system could not locate this transaction with the gift card receipt. To add a visit manually, we need the SUBTOTAL...BEFORE TAX and BEFORE TIP, as tax and tip are not eligible dollars spent to earn points on. The ITEMIZED receipt is the only receipt that will give the subtotal before tax and tip and the breakdown of what was ordered to ensure that the correct number of points are added. If you do not have the itemized receipt, you can retrieve a copy of it by calling the restaurant in which your visit occurred, give them the date that you visited and the last 4 of the Credit card used and they can either email YOU a copy of the itemized receipt or they can email it directly to us. I purchased a take out order of the Alice Springs chicken and steak combination. The steak was so tough, I couldn't cut it, much less eat it. The Alice Springs chicken was a small thigh and not bigger than a tablespoon. I emailed the managing partner twice with no response. I filed a BBB complaint and still no response. We sent it back they nuked it and brought it back out sticking to the side of the bowl. I had the brussel sprouts and they were so greasy I could not even eat them. I wanted a hamburger. Badly. I really really wanted a hamburger. Outback was a quick walk from the hotel I was staying in. I figured that they would have a decent burger! Well it turned out that I was exactly right. It was a good burger! Nicely seasoned with a bit of crispy char on it, but not overdone at all. The fries were pretty good as well. The service here was great, the bartender was very attentive and jovial. The manager was engaging as she walked the floor talking with both patrons and staff. This Outback was very well run. I saw this ad on the tube for steak and lobster and evidently I had forgotten why we haven't been there in years. The lobster tail was great but the steak brought back old memories of why we haven't been there in years. I am an experienced cook and I know the recommended way to slice a piece of meat and this did not help at all.
