I bought a new Alfresco brand grill here recently and the installer Jose set it up in my existing BBQ island yesterday. The salesman Fred did a great job explaining my options using an existing island that needed to be modified to fit the new grill. Jose cut out small sections of the existing island to fit the new grill, and in the process blended in some stucco work so everything matches. I purchased a Jacuzzi spa from OLC. When the Jacuzzi was delivered the cover was broken. Shortly after the Jacuzzi was delivered, it started to leak and the half the 30 LED lights went out. I called Fred, the sales manager who sold me the Jacuzzi. Fred said he would take care of it. Months went by with no action on Fred's part. I then called and emailed Fred asking the status of the repair. Fred would not return my calls or return my email. After 6 months, I called Jacuzzi and asked if there was anybody else I could work with besides Fred. The Jacuzzi rep. said she would call Fred and get him to take action. Fred did call but took no action. I then called the gentleman who works for OLC who delivered the spa and asked get on his schedule for repairs. After a few months, he came out and said the Jacuzzi was leaking from the pump and the LED light needed to be replaced. He said he would order the parts but it may take a few months to get them. He said the cover could not be repaired. He said Fred would need to order a replacement. I emailed Fred to ensure he ordered the replacement. Fred emailed back confirming he had ordered the replacement cover. However I found out after 3 months, Fred actually did not order the cover. The pump and LED lights did come in but the wrong parts were ordered. So these parts needed to be reordered. After 14 months of calling and emailing Fred, I finally had to engage the Better Business Bureau to get Fred to take action and get the spa fixed. The spa was finally fixed but the cover has was never replaced or fixed. I so regret ever walking into Outdoor Living Concepts. The experience has been 14 months of hassle of making calls and sending emails trying to get Fred to take action. I had to fill the hot tub daily due to the leaking. This left staining on my deck. Buyer beware of this business. read more

This place is a joke, I have tried since November to get help with a Green Mountain smoker I purchased and the owner Bob kept telling me someone would call me and was always surprised that nobody had when I finally got through to him. I still never heard from anyone so I reversed my credit card and sent them a certified letter to come and get it. I finally heard from Bob and he told me he believes in Karma and then hung up on me, unbelievable that people like this can actually be in business. Oh, and he was mad that the unit did not have the cord or other parts and they are laying on the patio right next to where the unit was they picked up. Went into the store today...it is so full of very, very fabulous yard "stuff": amazing BBQs, from gas, to wood briquet, to wood or wood pellet; countertop and much larger pizza ovens; hot tubs, etc. etc. Really beautiful store. I am deeply disappointed to write this review. Outdoor Living Concepts came very highly recommended by a friend who is a reputable builder. Sadly, I could not have been more disappointed with their customer service & general attitude. My husband & I made a few trips to the showroom & the designer, Fred, came to our home. We discussed our goal, intended use, & other details. We had to call several times to get the "design" we were promised. Essentially, the "design" was little more than what one can purchase at Home Depot or local patio store in the pre-fab form. Our hopes were dashed when we saw the sad "design" offered to us. Nothing we discussed was included in the "design" except the appliances. Furthermore, the one place we did not want an outdoor kitchen was the ONLY design option we were given. Sad disappointment! I felt as if we were more of an inconvenience than a customer! You would think that clients with a sizable budget would be desirable. I assume Bob & Fred just don't need the business. While vacationing in Palm Springs, my husband and I visited nearly every outdoor BBQ and furniture store in the area. We were just beginning a massive outdoor construction project for our home. By far, Outdoor Living Concepts was the most helpful, informed and knowledgeable business of all of those we dealt with both in Palm Springs and in the South Bay near Los Angeles. Fred Walls is has an encyclopedic knowledge of outdoor furniture, grills and grill accessories, space-planning and layout. We ask a LOT of questions and he had thorough and very helpful answers for all of them! He wasn't pushy, he listened carefully to what we wanted and helped us make decisions from the dizzying array of options! Fred was so helpful that we continued to work with him long-distance. Even from a distance, Fred was more helpful than any of the business or salespeople in our area. We purchased furniture, a BBQ, side burner, fridge, and cabinets. His prices were competitive and he worked to find the solutions that would be best for US not just for his bottom line! In fact, he encouraged me to revise my order to order fewer cabinets. He explained his advice this way: "As much as I'd love to have your business, I don't really think you need those cabinets. Let me tell you how you can get what you want without the extra expense." The fact that we ordered so much equipment from him - when he's two hours away -- speaks volumes of his helpfulness and his commitment to customer service. In any project, there are always challenges and setbacks. Through every one, Fred was available by email and over the phone helping us problem-solve. He ended every conversation by saying, "Let me know if there's something else I can do to help - that's what we're here for."
