I inherited my late Mother's 2002 Subaru Outback LL Bean edition in 2020. It's been in our family…read more19 years, runs and rides beautifully, is in beautiful shape, and has never been abused. We've always taken our vehicles to the dealer for all recommended services; the car drives like a dream. It developed a slow timing cover leak in 2022. At that time the dealership quoted repairs around $4,000 and recommended we keep an eye on it. In March 2024, that same repair at the same dealer was quoted at $4,800.00, but still not an immediate need. In sharing this w/my brother-in-law, he recommended I have Jason and Brandon at Sound Radio take a look at it and consider repairing it before things began to deteriorate. My in-laws have used Sound Radio for decades. I checked Sound Radio's (great!) reviews, then made an appointment to take the car in. Brandon gave me a MUCH lower quote for the same work though stated they may find additional fixes needed once they opened the timing chain cover and related areas. He explained what some of those might be and costs associated with them. I asked about the brand(s) of parts used and we were on the same page. We both wanted the highest quality parts available used. Neither he, nor I, want to try to save a few bucks using cheap parts. Since I plan to keep the vehicle, I moved ahead with the repairs. When they opened things up they found "immaculate" components, no additional parts needing replacing. The car was @ Sound Radio for a few days while they did the work. Brandon kept me informed of all their progress and when the car would be ready. I picked up the car yesterday with the confidence that the highest quality parts were used, that Sound Audio's mechanics are honest, that the work was done right and with care, and that only items which actually needed fixing were fixed/replaced. As a person w/limited engine knowledge, Sound Audio is an absolute TREASURE in a world of corporate conglomerates whose primary purpose is their bottom line, regardless of quality of work, 'service,' and/or parts, and who focuses on quantity over quality. The customer service I received from Brandon was stellar. Sound Audio understands not everyone WANTS a newer vehicle w/drastically lowered emissions at the cost of durability and longevity of the vehicle. I've looked at newer vehicles and own a slightly newer Toyota SUV, though I prefer to drive this Subaru for visibility and comfort. Many of the now required 'safety features' are so distracting I question how safe some of them are, not to mention the headaches w/malfunctioning chips, electronics, CVT transmissions, failing engines, recalls, etc. This was my first time @ Sound Radio, but it won't be my last. Thank you Brandon and Team!
