I came across Infront automotive from a old subaru forum online and trusted that they still might…read morebe a top shop to take your subies in that was my mistake as I should have listened to recent and most current word on the street about this shop from the autocross community around the seattle area as they will all tell you the quality of this establishment has went DOWNHILL since the last few years and now they are just focused on getting the most money from customers as possible without ensuring customer satisfaction. I brought my brand new STI here to get suspension mods installed pretty much whole suspension overhaul to turn it into autocross setup. I went with the owner (John) recommendations for the parts including sway bars, anti-lift kit, springs, shocks, camber bolts, custom alignment etc. and was left majorly disappointed as after all these mods. John comes across as very knowledgeable and experienced but what overshadows these qualities are his arrogance. greed, and old-school car salesman like pompous attitude, he was very persuasive, so it was partly my fault for being a new naive turbo Subaru car owner I agreed with what he recommended and went with his word without doing own research but now after learning from being in the car community for a year I now realize how much of an amazing job he did of ripping me off and taking advantage of my lack of knowledge in this area. Please stay away from this shop if you care at all about your car or modifications. In a nutshell after all these modifications and dropping lots of money here I had a issue with my camber as i was promised max camber and i purchased all the parts and was assured i would easily get -3 camber if I purchased these parts from this shop and got them installed there and when i picked up my car i was told they could only get -1.3 or something and i was like okay let me try it out see how it rides after a couple days i called and said i need more camber as the cornering grip was worse than before, the owner/manager Jan proceeds to tell me if i need that extra camber i need to pay for another alignment AND this was less than a week after i picked up my car was told i can 100% get a certain number of alignment, was not given that number and was told i had to pay again if i wanted any more adjustment to the alignment and also had to wait 3 weeks since they are booked. Mind you that was just one of the issues and this guy then had the AUDACITY to recommend that I buy EVEN MORE parts and installation services from him that that that will help solve this issue on a BRAND NEW CAR. That was when I came to my senses and realized all the owner Jan really cares about is his profit and his bottom line and screw customer satisfaction. I learned my lesson as I was a eager and excited naïve new sports car owner who trusted a post from YEARS ago on a Subaru forum as opposed to listening to current "word on the street" about this selfish greedy money hungry shop! There is a reason this shop has a bad rep among car enthusiasts who care about their rides, don't believe me ask anyone around the area they will say this place has gone downhill from what it used to be several years ago I only wish I had met the people that advised me to stay away from here sooner before I dropped thousands on unneeded parts/services and on top of that having to listen to this conceded owner and his know it all attitude! I hope I can find a shop that will meet expectations in the future. This is what he writes to me in response when I contacted him "However, as we are over 12 months since that install I cannot help you on new parts defects or install labor as their warranties have expired. 5/5 Stars! I can't…read moresay enough good things about Infront. I have taken my 2015 wrx to this shop for years, with great service getting ahead of any potential issues. I recently purchased a 2021 low-mileage STI from a third party dealership. I took the STI to Eastside Subaru in Kirkland for a pre-purchase inspection and they gave the vehicle a clean bill of health. The car was driving poorly, and I took it to Infront. John quickly identified that the car had been heavily modified, put through the wringer, then returned to stock for sale. There were a number of structural issues, and the engine started poorly, idled poorly, then met a fraction of the boost that a stock STI should. Really appreciate how professional and comprehensive John was in his inspection. His diagnosis will hopefully let me part ways with a project when I was hoping to have a late-model low-mileage STI. Would 100% recommend as these folks know Subarus inside and out :-).

I understand its a big job for a layman like me, but a RACING SHOP? I am glad they were honest I guess. They just dont have the skill to do a bigger job. I have a good budget for this family heirloom. I know its very expensive. Stick to tunes and small bolt-ons guys. Don't make a new customer for life. Once this car goes back on the road, I'm going to do a lot of stuff, was hoping to have a good shop so I could use. I'll find one. I guess they are so busy with young racers, they don't need any more customers. Disappointed.

They use customer supplied parts, which is really a nice option. Most shops I go to do not (for good reason it can be a PIA). I had a front anti rock installed (CSP) and I had the wrong hardware, they corrected the hardware and the Jeep flexes out perfectly. They also replaced the front ball joints. Appreciated the quick service. Many shops have a hard time working with after market lifted and modified vehicles/parts. Khaotik did a great job for me. They understand 4x4s that work for a living.

To their credit, a Khaotik employee admitted it in writing within days, and the shop said they'd cover the repair. Working from that, I gave them a preliminary number -- $1,400, averaged off two quick visual estimates. They then asked me to get a finalized estimate, so I did. Later that month they put it in writing that they would cover the cost of the repair. The finalized estimate came back just under $2,000, because an actual inspection turned up work no walkaround was going to find. They then declined to pay the finalized estimate they had requested, and sent a check for the preliminary figure instead. I declined the check. The rest of the job had its own problems: wrong bracket kit ordered after I supplied the correct part links, rear fender liners never installed, front liners installed wrong, an agreed tire rotation skipped, and a late return that cost me rideshare fares. I sued in small claims. I didn't appear at the mediation and the case was dismissed, and I've decided not to take it any further -- they weren't going to pay what was agreed, and it stopped being worth the effort. As a result, I'm out $2k on this in damages. I'm not asking them for anything. Posting because I'd have wanted to read it first.

Six weeks later, my husband was driving the car and the oil light came on, so he drove it to the dealership and found out that there was no oil in the car. It cost us an additional $350 to fix the damage from A Street not actually changing our oil. Any company that would charge for a service that wasn't actually performed, as well as allow their customer to drive an unsafe car, is one to avoid at all costs. I've heard of companies like this, but this was my first time being scammed by one. I'll stick with the dealership from now one.

Finally, the noise got more and more frequent and I decided I just couldn't ignore it any longer. I'd have to find a mechanic. But, you know mechanics. I didn't want one who would rip me off. So, I turned to Yelp. Thank you, Yelp! Doug diagnosed that scary noise as my brake caliper (unfortunately), and showed me exactly how it was causing my brake pad to wear down unevenly. Then he got to work fixing my car. In the meantime, I called my father on the east coast (who listens to Car Talk), he agreed with the diagnosis and thought Doug was charging me a fair price for brake caliper replacement and a brake fluid flush. While he had my car, Doug did a full safety inspection which gave me peace of mind that when I drove out of there, my car was in great working order and Doug even gave me some tips for things like my next oil change. All in all, I felt like not only did I get my car repaired at Simply Auto, I found a mechanic I can trust in Doug and a place that I know that I can go back to the next time I have a problem. And that's a pretty valuable thing.

When I got my car back I noticed that some of the things that I asked for were not done and I was still being charged $69. On the paperwork Tony put in the wrong oil when I confronted him about it he acknowledged that he didnt do the things I ask and then refunded some of the money. As for the oil change which cost $98, he says the paper is wrong and he did the oil change. But he never reset the computer..still says 50% oil and never put a "next service date" sticker. So how am I suppose to believe him. As for the struts he kept pulling up something that wouldn't even fit on my car. Also during that time he repositioned my license plate without my consent to the center when I like mine on the left side. I kept calling to speak with the owner, Doug and Tony always answers and tells me he isn't available. I'm writing this review to let everyone know that this mechanic is not knowledgeable or trustworthy. I will not be bringing my car back to this place.
