Adorable little restaurant on the fringe of the hotel zone in Cabo. I wish we had gone for dinner, but breakfast was the only time we made it there. They have plants growing everywhere, cute decor and food was great. I heard it has a reputation for being great for foodies prices were typical for Cabo, ( a little high, but by now we are used to it). We have yet to make it down to Flora Farms so we were pleasantly surprised to discover the Outpost to get a little taste of what their about. Very fresh ingredients and the Ol' Verano drink is a must order! It is made with mezcal (smoky - my fav, yum!) and it is spicy with a touch of pineapple. I had high hopes for this place especially after we had Flora Farms for lunch. We order three things from the menu and the best one was the catch of the day. The vegetable curry was laughable. It came luke warm, and we almost send it back. The food is average at best. Waiters were hard to find. They were just hanging out or smoking in the front. No one asked to refill our drinks or take our plates away. We asked four different waiters about the check and waited 20 min and still nothing. Whats worse than the food here is its service. I hope the owner will train their staff better. It's one of worst meals we had in Cabo and San Jose. There are so many other better choices here, Kauil, Salvatore G, Don Sanchez, Flora Farms to name a few. I wish we didn't come here and ruined our good streak of great food. read more

We were surprisingly disappointed with this establishment. On vacation last Friday, we decided to try out this cute spot. Unfortunately, to our disappointment, the service was terrible. We felt discriminated by the waiter for being three Latinas on vacation. We noticed that all the other tourist customers around us were receiving superb attention by their waiter. This was such a great find. We walked into this super cool restaurant with a second level patio filled with greenery and unique decor. You really felt like you were somewhere else. The service was super attentive and kind the entire way through. Julio and his team were wonderful and very friendly. The drinks were expertly crafted and each had a super cool presentation coming to the table. The smoked hibiscus margarita is a must try! We shared the guacamole, esquitas, shrimp pastor tacos and filet entree. The corn was delicious and lick your plate good. The filet was so yummy and came with perfectly crispy roasted potatoes. I went to Outpost for a friends birthday party. They started us with some tequila shots and recommended a few things including the short rib. The only thing memorable was their Cesar Salad, which they made on the spot in front of you. My girlfriend did take the waiters advice and order the short rib and was sad when she recieved it , it was completely dry. She couldn't cut through the meat and was disappointed it didn't fall of the bone. She sent it back and still tipped but the waiter said it was required to at least tip 15% which turned us off but we didn't argue since we didn't want conflict. I booked a reservation here for my husbands 30th bday dinner, and I booked it online. The process was easy, I requested that we sit on the rooftop and when we arrived, they sat us inside and told us that there wasn't space available but when a table became available, they moved us. So, my husband decided to buy the manager a shot to thank him for accommodating us. However, as soon as we bought the first shot, our waiter decided he wanted one too and so he brought the tequila bottle back, so we agreed to take a shot & all of the other waiters (3 of them) that were around were standing around asking if they could have one too. But, we didn't get them one and you can tell that they were upset. Next, our food was okay. Wasn't impressed with the filet mingon and ribeye steaks that we ordered and they forgot our sides, we had to remind them multiple times and still never got them. Now, the worst part was when the bill came around.. they charged us 3 extra shots that we didn't order, they charged the sides that we never received and charged 4 of them when we had only requested two. the price of the steaks all of a sudden changed and we're more expensive!! They thought because we had a few drinks/shots that they can up charge us and we wouldn't notice!! If you decide to come here, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!! read more

After dining at Flora Farms (produce supplier) we were really looking forward to dining at Outpost. Outpost had many fantastic reviews. Maybe it was just an off day, but we had horrible food and even worse service. To add to the frustration, it took us close to an hour and five requests before we got our check. To start things off, we ordered still water and received sparkling - not a big deal but the server kept telling us that we were wrong, that it was not sparkling, even though it bubbled when poured and also was clearly fizzy. Like I said, not a big deal but it was the argument from the waiter that was off-putting. We ordered several appetizers, table side caesars , and three entrees. The carbonara was not good at all, it was a cheesy sauce instead of traditional. The caesars were not prepared table side, they were delivered as heads of romaine with dressing poured on top. One person in our party did not receive her meal until when the check came...the check we had to keep asking for. I asked our server about the salads not being prepared as ordered and he said he made the decision to not make them table side because they "only have one bowl" and it was already being used. What??? That is silly and very unbelievable. We would have like to have more than one drink and some water, but the waiter was only present to argue with us and not to see if we needed anything. It was a bad experience and I'm still surprised by the level of poor service. Good service could have saved a bad meal but a bad meal and bad service...nah, go elsewhere. What a waste of money. Please note that if you sit downstairs at the street level it is also incredibly loud because you are right on the corner of a busy intersection. And also, if someone is smoking outside on the sidewalk, your table will be clouded with smoke. The decor was nice. read more

¡Ay Dios Mio! Seriously. This place is incredible. Went for one drink and stayed for nearly the entire menu and 3 drinks. The Chefs choice is a must as a preview of what's the top 5 tapas most recommended. The carrot mousse, beet and goat cheese bruschetta, s'mores were incredible. Ok all of the five were amazing. The octopus tacos were so tasty. Fresh. Full of flavor. I actually could order a few more orders of them to be quite frank. BBQ sliders. Wow. So. Damn. Good. Try them. Please. Vietnamese rolls were also wonderful. Fresh veges, tasty dipping sauce. We also ordered another round of carrot mousse and s'mores for dessert- both are incredible. You won't be disappointed. Drinks: again wow! This place needs to be in Chicago. Had the Farmarita (could be my fav drink of all time) and damiana kiss (perfect way to end). My boyfriend had the Grandpa Nelson (amazing twist on an old fashion), Ol' verano (mezcal, cilantro, pineapple infused ice cube) and Henriks coco refresh- all were so good. I haven't had this good ever I don't believe. A lot of the drinks have infused ice cubes which keeps the drink not only cold but flavorful and not watered down. Service was quick and attentive. Orlando was great giving us a tour of the place- which I highly recommend. Amazing happy hour deals and all day deals, including all you can eat 11-4. The prices aren't bad at all!!! Alright yelpers let's get down to what you really wanna know. This is just a damn good place, down to earth with just enough elements of sophistication. Will impress your friends/date/buisness client type of place.You may even call it hipster especially with all the aesthetic decor. But the attitude on the locally sourced organic food is legit and so are the fun creative applications in each dish and drink. From a google search and other yelp reviews you can find out more about Flora farms and what's its about, but for now just know that the food here is great. The only thing I like more than the food were the cocktails, which tasted like more expensive bar drinks I've had elsewhere. You see others raving about that Hibiscus margarita, they're completely right. I want it again and again. So walk right up to that patio counter, grab menu & a bottled drink from the iced wheelbarrow and have a seat at either: the creative modern bar, the sectioned sofa lounge, or the second story overlooking the harbor up the winding stairs. Everywhere in this place is tastefully designed even the bathroom, which has a free dessert promo w/ selfie. Shoutout to the chill but accomidating wait staff! This place is wonderful. The restaurant is super cute, cozy and romantic. It features a balcony, a patio, and two cozy dining rooms. All spaces are decorated with twinkling lights, plants, crystal chandeliers and sexy lighting. My date was the highlight of the night. The weight staff is plentiful, courteous and helpful. The food is farm to table quality. I recommend the ceviches, guacamole, and chicken sandwich. The cocktails are super fun and very tasty.
