Everything about this location is a gem. This hipster and eclectic space has a menu packed with surprises. To start, the cocktails are on the Jamba Juice side of wellness, filled with organic veggies, fragrant herbs, and premium liquor. I had a carrot margarita and their virgin "apple bumble " sweetened with local honey. The rooftop seating with a terrace garden was a whole vibe and a half. With a movie of a fireplace playing on a big tv, one feels welcome and cozy in this restaurant. The food; veggie curry was tasty. We added some highly recommended steak but I advise against it. The yellow veggie curry is super tasty and fresh. Tacos were on point. S'mores were simple but classic. Believe it or not, the star of this show was the grilled cheese. I still dream of it. A great new restaurant find in Cabo. Both the drink menu and food menu contain creative offerings that have brought my group here 3 times in the last 2 weeks, with another visit planned for later this week. The chef has created a menu that you won't find at your ordinary restaurant. The catch of the day (sea bass this time) with pork rind and poppy seed is so good that some of us had that twice! I had the pork rib at the suggestion of our waiter and it was delicious. The smoked garden salad is also a must try. If you are fortunate enough to have Hector as your waiter, you can't go wrong with any of his suggestions for a drink or food. His knowledge of the entire menu and how he explains everything is something you can trust. UPDATE: Came here on Halloween and had Chef Morales' 3 course special menu for Dia De Muertos. We came to visit Cabo in the beginning of November and stumbled across this bar. We loved everything about it! They have some of the BEST cocktails we have ever had, they are all hand crafted and just delicious. One of our person favorites was the black margarita and the farm julep (watermelon julep basically) Our bartenders were awesome as well, they were so nice and catered to our every need. We also had the opportunity to try some of the appetizers, the ceviche and guacamole were amazing, but my person favorite was the esquites. Bill came, took out my phone, to calculate peso conversion. Kept coming out to over $200!!! (U.S. dollars) Staff said my calculations were correct. Tried to tell me it was for the bottle! I only ordered a glass and consumed 1 glass. Look at photos - place was empty! They wanted to make their night at my expense! Because, I had already handed my debit card over, never signed it, never put in a PIN # I was charged without my knowing. I told them I refuse to pay the $200+ and threw $25 on the counter and left! Tried to dispute but, was denied because they cannot enforce the merchant's financial institution to reimburse payment unless a credit acknowledgment is received from merchant! Moral of the story? Wow, this was one of my favorite dining experiences. We came for lunch. We sat at the bar and started with cocktails. The Good Morning Punch (smokey, bacon, creamy) and French Julep (refreshing, watermelon) were fantastic. Next we had the Martagado Ceviche, which was on a bed of avocados (whaaaat! So good). Next we had the chilaquiles with beef tongue, again an incredible meal with the grilled corn. Everything that was recommended to us was fantastic. If you want great Farm-to-Table food make the long drive from Cabo out to San Jose for lunch or dinner at Flora Farms. Well worth the effort and expense. But, if you want the best mixologist experience and service in ALL of Cabo, The Outpost is a must! At the end of the street in downtown where you turn left for the boat harbor and The Pedregal so a weird location that most people would easily miss or never know to go. Fresh ingredients grown on the rooftop and all mixers/juices made fresh and from scratch. The food was outstanding from the amuse bouche of grouper ceviche to the chocolate clams with jicama and watermelon to the sea bass with lavender risotto (yes lavender, subtle floral and earthy). I've driven and walked past this spot throughout my weeklong stay in Cabo. I always thought the aesthetics of the bar was amazing and I wanted to check it out before I left. Last night of my stay, my wife and I were walking past Outpost and thought this was the opportunity to finally check it out, so we crossed the street and headed in. We were greeted by a host at the door, she asked if we had a reservation (we did not), then took our temperature, gave us hand sanitizer and walked us in. There were about four seats we could choose from, so we chose two seats that were not directly seated next to anyone. I'm assuming the upstairs rooftop wasn't an option since she took us inside, which we were fine with. When we sat down, the host that walked us in gave us the menu on a barcode and told us that our server would be with us shortly. As we looked at the menu, I was also people watching and checking out the amazing ambiance. The inside portion was probably no bigger than 600-700 square feet with about 7-8 seats in an L shape configuration. There were staff coming in and out of the establishment, assuming they were servicing patrons upstairs and in the outdoor area. What stood out to me was the amount of staff on duty this night. I thought "man, there's a lot of staff working tonight, they're probably going to be OVERLY attentive." I couldn't be anymore wrong. It took about 10-15 minutes before our server even got to us. There were three people sitting next to us and I heard one of the guys in the group say "eff this" and the entire group walked out. Since they were seated before we arrived and had no food or drinks, I'm assuming they hadn't been waited on and decided to leave, which I don't blame them. Finally, our server comes, a nice gentlemen, somewhat humorous and took our order. We ordered the Shrimp Pastor Tacos, the Cabo Citrus and the Apple Bumble. These items came out within a reasonable timeframe and were quite tasty. Once we wrapped up our drinks and appetizer, we were ready to order our mains and other beverages. There were staff coming in and out of this small space and had to notice that we were done with our food/drinks and ready to order more. During this time, there were two younger ladies that sat inside the restaurant and Spanish speaking. I was pretty irked by those girls getting service at a drop of a dime and we were still waiting for our waiter to come back and take the rest of our order. By this point, I was irritated and decided that we were just going to finalize our bill and just leave. I was not going to give this establishment anymore of my money if they were not going to attend to all their patrons in a 7-8 seated restaurants with at least 8-10 staff on duty. I finally flagged someone down and told them that we were ready for the check. They brought me the check, I already had my card out so they could just take it and close it out and even that was a process. They told me to hold on a minute and some lady came to run the card. Of course that lady was standing off to the side to wait as I signed off on the receipt. Where was that attentiveness a few minutes ago? I'm not sure what the normal clientele of this place is but I'm sure it's definitely not locals from the prices of items on the menu. Items weren't too far off pricewise from what I'd pay in a major city in the United States. We're in Mexico for Christ sakes. Mixology establishments tend to come with a higher price tag, which I get.....and that's honestly why I didn't make a big deal about the prices, but when you're charging those prices in Mexico, the service better be up to par, and it was below average. If management is reading this, I suggest you learn your clientele and the expectations that come along with the price point. I normally tip 20% as a standard if the waiter just does their job of being attentive, but with the experience that I had, there was no way in hell they were getting 20% from me. Really a bummer bc aesthetically, the spot is nice and the food and drinks were actually good. Service was absolutely terrible. Step your game up! read more

Outpost is truly something unforgettable!! they made my family and i feel like part of their family too. It was our first time in cabo and they helped point out some good recommendations for our trip. As the service is amazing, the food is great well. It is high quality, organic, and more filling than you would expect. Some staff showed us the garden upstairs where all of the vegetables are grown and then cooked into our food. The drinks here are amazing as well (i recommend the apple bumblebee). For dessert, they even brought out carrot cake cupcakes on the house!! As far as atmosphere goes, the entire restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and clean; even the bathroom is instagramable. 10/10 would come here again. read more
