toddler beds and cribs. some were marked sold, so i guess those large items you can pick up later.
    Jen L.

this review is on a Saturday morning (today). I'm really thankful to have gone to this event. I think it's got a wide variety and plenty of baby items even on a Saturday morning. I think if you don't want to suffer long lines and all the people, and you're not looking for a large ticket item (newer cribs, mattress, stroller, carriers), join the tamer Saturday morning group. My friend and i were the 2nd party there at 5 min before opening. We thought there would be more but i guess those people came on Friday. I went in looking for boys clothes 18months-2T. I searched for items that were about $2 each. So I got 10 shirts, 10 shorts, 8 pants, that were around $2 each. I found a nice dress suit for $20 and that was my largest ticket item. barely worn shoes were $5 each (pair of crocs, water shoes, snow boots, dress shoes, casual loafers) There's a separate bin of onesies at a different table. Anyway, look for other items first and then clothes because clothes take longer to browse through and get kind of heavy. Bring you bags, they have some there if you need. Also, there's a place where you can drop off bags or put furniture there on hold. Also ,bring a friend to help wait in line, even then i only had to wait 30 min for 3 cashiers. I tried to take pictures of everything i saw there. There was all sorts of stuff related to baby, you can take a look at the photos. there's maternity clothes, nursing stuff, health and safety stuff, toys, costumes, diaper pails, feeding utensils, bottles, bedding, diaper bags, baby room decorations, toddler beds, desks/tables for kids to name a few.

    Clothes are arranged by the following. 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 12months, 18 months, 24months, 2T, 3, and so on.

For Buyers: Quick info - This event is held twice a year (fall & spring show) for 3 days (Fri, Sat & Sun). They sell gently used clothes, shoes, toys and more. Sometimes there are some NEW things but for the most part the items are used. On Sunday many items go for 1/2 off making the deals even better. Parking - Get there early if you want close parking. Be prepared to park on gravel/dirt. $10 per car unless you print the parking voucher bringing it down to $5. Prices - Range since the sellers are deciding their own prices. Some items are way too over priced but if you come with plenty of time to browse you can find good items at low prices. Suggestions- Try to come with another adult so one can stand in line while the other shops when you're ready to checkout. The lines get really long & little ones could get impatient so do them a favor and leave them at home. If you do decide to take them bring lots of snacks (since they don't sell food there) & their electronics fully charged. Bring large bags to carry your items or possibly a cart/wagon. If you do decide to go on a Sunday get there early to get the best deals on the items that are 1/2 off. They accept all major credit cards. Personally, I like it! I allow myself plenty of time to browse and find those good deals. I also make sure to take a fully charged cell for when I'm waiting in the long line for checkout. For Sellers: Quick tips - Read the ENTIRE packet that they send. Make sure that they have your current email address since they send several updates through email. Tagging - If you don't own a Tagging Gun (I don't) buy safety pins to help you attach the plastic fasteners to the clothes. Masking tape helps when you need to attach a tag to an item that you don't want to damage. Zip-lock bags also come in handy when you want to bundle items. Hangers - On my first sale I had to buy hangers from someone on Craigslist. Now, I make sure to arrive early on pick up day (Monday) and I get them from there. Organizing - I usually enter all of the labels a week before and I allow myself plenty of time to attach them. I make sure to save boxes beforehand to use them for the organization. I hang all clothes at home and I pile & rubber band them up according to the racks that they will be going on. The best part of being a seller is that you get to go to the SELLER'S ONLY SALE, you get free parking on that day & if you volunteer you get back an extra 10% of what you sell. Lastly, if you want to sell on the next show you can sign up on Monday when you pick up your leftovers. There you can also buy extra paper/tags. Or you can always wait to do it online when registration opens.

This is the inside of the hall; about a third of the items are showing - the racks of clothing are to the right.

Too expensive. People put up their used kid's t-shirts for 7 bucks. I loved the Junior League one.

I know this store gets criticism for being selective, but honestly, would you want to buy secondhand children's items that weren't carefully inspected? They're selective for a reason, and as a parent, I appreciate that. I've also seen negative comments about the owner. In my experience, he's always been kind and professional. He genuinely seems to care about the business and his customers. Like anyone, he may come across differently depending on the situation, but if you give him a chance, I think you'll find he's a good guy. Yes, there can be a wait when you sell your items, but that's because someone is individually sorting through every single piece. That takes time. I'd rather they inspect everything thoroughly than rush through it. As for payouts, they are very upfront about how their buying process works. If you're looking to make the absolute most money, they'll even suggest other platforms like Facebook Marketplace. But as a busy mom, convenience is worth a lot. I don't always have the time to photograph, list, answer messages, and coordinate meetups. I'd much rather bring everything in, get paid the same day, and be done. People also forget that this is a business. They have rent, payroll, utilities, and many other operating costs. They can't pay close to retail value and still keep the doors open. The trade-off is convenience, and for me, it's absolutely worth it. Overall, Once Upon a Child is a fantastic place to buy affordable, gently used kids' items and an easy, hassle-free option for selling what your family no longer needs. I'll definitely keep coming back.

I brought in several items from brands like Zara and Nike that were in excellent, almost new condition. I understand resale stores need to make a profit, but the offers were shockingly low--around $1-$2 per item. The younger employees were friendly and pleasant, but the older gentleman who helped me was extremely rude, impatient, and acted like my questions were an inconvenience. When I politely asked how they determine what they pay for certain items, he couldn't really explain it and responded with a lot of attitude instead of being helpful. After my visit, I read through some of the other reviews, and I wish I had done that beforehand. It seems several other customers had similar experiences with the older gentleman, and I definitely understand what they were talking about. Based on my experience, he came across as unfriendly, impatient, and rude. Customer service makes all the difference, and unfortunately, this experience was anything but pleasant. Between the long wait, the very low offers, and the poor customer service, I won't be returning to buy or sell here. I'd rather donate my kids' clothes to Goodwill than deal with that kind of attitude.

My friend and I were seated at a table directly outside the small storefront, eating lunch in the shade on a warm day. Out of nowhere, a woman came out and harshly chastised us for sitting there, loudly claiming we were blocking her door (we absolutely were not). She continued to berate us, saying things like, "Who in their right mind would think it's okay to sit here?" She unlocked the door, and continued ranting and she stepped inside. As she came back outside, she would not stop. The whole encounter felt aggressive and completely unnecessary. If she had politely asked us to move, we would have gladly done so, though again, we weren't blocking anything, and the table was already there when we arrived. For such a small local business, I expected more kindness and respect toward people in the community and potential customers. Unfortunately, based on this experience alone, I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending this shop to others.

They only had one person handling all comms and processes who was way overwhelmed but at least responsive. I had a bad feeling about this and emailed multiple times to confirm my gift card credits from our baby shower would be transferred over. After multiple assurances and follow ups, they never did it and lost access to the old platform. Luckily I noted our remaining balance in our emails so there was a record of it. Otherwise I can't imagine the back and forth I'd have to deal with. This first week of new service, the driver never completed our pickup despite marking it completed on their tracking link they provided. I had to write in to customer service (no more live telephone support which was available before) to find out the drivers are now contractors who do not have access to my gate because they don't have the key I originally provided when signing up for service. There were no notifications or comms about this. So we have to wait until next week with bags piling up. 2) The delivery service fees are up about 40% if you are a new subscriber. Prices go up for me after this year. 3) To purchase diapers at close to the same price as the old system, you now have to order a monthly box! And they do not accept open boxes for returns. The old system let you customize your weekly order and adjust packs based on need. You could also return individual unused packs for credit. That is no longer allowed. It's so obvious are or consolidating operations to cut costs while all aspects of the service are now worse for customers.
