Paid for extra tazikia even tho it's pink and no cucumber- didn't get it, lots of lettuce and 1 tomato, dry, no feta cheese. 6 pieces of dry burnt ish gyro meat . This is not ok. I sent my teenager in and he doesn't want to get in trouble but if I knew how much he paid and what we got i would have sent it back in. Over the Top Pita is a great spot for Mediterranean food in the Clermont, Florida area. Over the Top Pita is located in the same shopping plaza as the Publix. It is not a big restaurant, but the staff was friendly and the food is very good. The inside is warm and inviting and overall it has a nice ambiance. I went with the gyro and I would definitely recommend the gyro. Since it is in a shopping plaza, parking was not an issue. This is truly both a hole in the wall restaurant AND one of the very best Greek dives/restaurants I've ever been to. The falafels in the pita wrap were really great. Perfectly spiced, a bit crispy outside and great inside! Then the tzatziki sauce was really great on it! They make everything from scratch and the salad dressing and other sauces were all really well made. All tasty and almost could not get enough of these. My wife is gluten free and the manager double checked the ingredients on several items to make sure she would be ok. He went beyond the call of duty and for that, they deserve an extra rating to make it 6 stars. They want to start franchising and Kyle, the Manager really understands both good food as well as great customer service. If I were looking for a great food business, this is the one I would choose! That's because the food is wonderful and they understand the needs of their customers. I would only say that when new menus come out, please place a GF symbol next to the items that fall into that category. With stores eventually opening in other locations, you will need to address such matters. We will stop there whenever we are in the area for sure and we encourage others to give them a try! Very bad service. We bought 2 Gyros and and a coke. Told us to wait for the Soda machine to get refill. After they filled the soda machine Made us wait , and forgot about us, then he had the nerve asked us if we paid for the soda. I told him yes and he started arguing with us . I went for a late lunch. I saw that they had Gyros, so I stpped in to order a Gyro. Nothing else, just a Gyro. They had a good amount of meat, onions, etc. I was taken back when I saw an orange looking sauce. No tzatziki sauce! UGH! It would have been 4 stars easily if it had the tzatziki sauce. Well they've dropped all the things that made them unique. No more tacos or black bean hummus. Looks like they changed things and are trying to franchise. Just another gyro place now with a not so clean interior and hit or miss service. I overlooked those things in the past because the food was so great, interesting and tasty. Their website system seems to have changed too and is much more clunky, slow and I had issues not being able to check out on mobile. Understand trying to streamline in order to franchise but there's nothing special now that would make it worth it. read more

Great food but the owner steals the tips of the kids who work there. She tells them that she keeps them to cover the cost of feeding them their shift meals but they don't have a choice. When people order large catering orders, she keeps those tips too. I wonder if the federal government would be interested in knowing that she's not paying payroll taxes on those tips. read more

One of my closest friends lives in Clermont and she is VERY picky, so it tends to be difficult to convince her to try new places. Previously we had a great success story when I convinced her to check out Corelli's, an Italian place nearby with great Yelp ratings. We've been back several times, and she's obsessed with the place and talks about it all the time. Today I convinced her to try not one, but two (!) new places in her area based on Yelp reviews. I was wanting a sandwich at lunch time during this particular visit, so I looked into sandwich places around her and discovered Over the Top Pita. I broached the subject cautiously, knowing the word "Mediterranean" would scare her, and managed to coax her with the promise of chicken and fries, plus a Publix right next door in case she decided to bail once she got there. Luckily, she didn't bail. I got the falafel pita with fries and I cannot WAIT to return. The falafel was definitely some of the best (if not THE best) I've had in Florida. It was perfectly soft and flavorful on the inside and just crispy enough on the outside. I'm not a huge fan of tzatziki as a general rule, and had meant to sub it for hummus, but I'm glad I forgot because the tzatziki was really good. Maybe it wasn't "traditional" tzatziki but I loved it. The fries were also pretty damn near perfect, flavorful and a little bit crispy. The only negative things I could say were that half the fountain drinks were sold out (though they had what I wanted so I couldn't complain), and the trash was a bit full when we were there. But the staff was all super friendly and everyone seemed to be working really hard while keeping a great attitude. In summary: great food, great service, can't wait to return! read more

We love this place. Probably eat here a few times a month. Each time provides the same quality food with great flavor. Consistency is guaranteed here! I always get the gyro with no fries in it because I love it. We get different apps and he gets other wraps or items. Their pita is always fresh :) the meat is just superbly tender and juicy. Happy to find another source of gyros in the area. This was my first time in. I just noticed them the other day because of the big gyros sign from the street. They are right next to Publix and Great Clips in the old Urban Tacos space. I was informed the chef (owner?) was originally from Greece which is a plus in my book for a place like this. A few of the pitas had a southwestern flair, such as the fajita pita. The pita bread was soft and fresh, stuffed with very generous servings of meat. They have a very simple menu that makes it easy to order and the staff was very friendly. Even though they closed at 9 today, they were very accommodating to the rush of people that came in around that time, including myself. There were about 10 people ahead of me with orders and my food was ready to go in about 20 minutes. I thought that was reasonable considering it is all made to order and they were very busy. Prices for entrees were in the moderate range. My son had the gyro with a side of fries. They even put a few fries in the gyro. The lamb was very tender in and overstuffed with meat which was good. Plenty of tzatziki sauce to go with the meat. My suggestion would be more tomatoes. I had the fish pita. According to the menu, it included a lime sauce so, in my mind, I was thinking of a creamy white lime cilantro type sauce (as you would find in a Mexican fish taco or burrito.. Yes, I realize this is not a Mexican joint but, as mentioned, they offer some southwestern style pitas). However, it was more of a chipotle sauce with a slight spicy kick. That was a bit disappointing to me but it was still good. I just didn't taste any lime so I would suggest more lime in the sauce or serve/offer some wedges on the side for those that want to add a squeeze or 2. I also would have liked more Pico de Gallo which would've added more flavor. The falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside so thumbs up there.
