One of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle! The coffee is really good quality, and the baristas are excellent. They're always willing to make my drink exactly how I like it. The vibes inside are also great, will definitely be back to sit!

They make a great cup of coffee! Very popular spot and staff is always friendly. They have a good amount of seats but a Sunday morning can be challenging to drink inside. Love the vibes.

Cute little cafe with friendly service. Had an oat milk caramel capp which was perfectly made. Also had the spinach & cheese croissant- was cold in the middle and very thick consistency (not sure if it was the cheese or the béchamel). Not bad but would try something else next time. Definitely would drop by again if in the area.

Delicious coffee and breakfast sandwich. UPCHARGE for alternative milk, which had become typical. Definitely not cheap but really great vibe, good breakfast pastries and great coffee drinks.

Really fabulous service the one time I went there, I only took this relatively arbitrary pic to avoid taking pics of the ppl bc it was pretty crowded

I was early for a dinner at Bai Tong so I needed some place to wait, so I ducked in here and I'm so glad I did. It's small, but they have four different seating areas- high chairs lining the wall or the plate glass windows, two tops off to the side, a lounger area, and a couple of tables out front so you can sit with the pups. I ordered the white mocha and the barista was very friendly and served it up quickly. The lounge area was a nice place to relax and it was perfect for the hour I had to kill.

Had a delish latte today served by the sweetest barista. Orange cardamom latte with oat milk was delish - the oat milk was so creamy. Cute little store, and delish looking treats. Will be back!!

Cozy, plant-filled space, genuinely kind baristas, and excellent matcha and cold brew. Exactly the kind of warmth you hope for on a cold day .

*Shoutout to fellow Yelp Elite Diana X and her terrific post for Overcast Coffee* I literally was in my car an hour after reading her post. There's a window of opportunity before traffic bunches up on I-5. I have my fave cafes on CapHill, but Diana's post was that compelling to check out another indie (9/20/24). Amazed to snag street parking with a reasonable hour rate in front of Eltana, the Montreal style bagel site. It is located on 12th Avenue, between EPike & EPine, next door to the SPD East Precinct. They have limited bright yellow sidewalk seating, a row of onsite two tops (all occupied by the laptop crowd), few seats by the merch display, and counter seating by the entrance & front counter where I ended up at. Nice interior with plants, decent vibe with upbeat music playing, and a welcoming trio of baristas. There was a steady stream of customers for onsite and takeout. I had a 16oz dark chocolate mocha and a sizeable ham & cheese croissant onsite. I appreciated the offer for it to be heated up. I ended up hanging out for an hour. Very pleasant. Definitely I will add this to my CapHill cafe rotation.

The food was delicious!!! I had the bagel breakfast sandwich and I'm so glad the ran out of regular bagels because I might not have tried the everything bagel and it was sooooo good!! the chocolate croissant was more croissant than chocolate but it was still delicious. The service was great they were fast and very nice and helped us figure out what we'd like. Cute place super small but I love it!

Overcast Coffee was recommended to me by a few people and only two blocks from where my friend lives! We stopped by two Sunday mornings ago for a drink. I don't think they roast their own coffee here, but they were selling beans from "This Coffee Life" and it's what they use for their drinks too. I liked that they had an extensive pour over list, so I chose the Colombian single origin that morning and I thought it was an enjoyable cup of coffee. My friend got the matcha latte which she enjoyed. I ended up buying a bag of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans for 20.00 and hope it turns out well!

Stopped by in the afternoon and it was packed! Ambiance and interior was very nice but since the seats were full I was only there to get a drink togo. There was a small sign that introduced their seasonal drink: earl grey & lavender latte but I wanted to double check if it was both flavors included into one drink or two separate ones. I asked the barista and they told me it was one drink, but was kinda dry/sarcastic with their response which threw me off. I ordered the drink anyway and I was satisfied with how it wasn't too milky--you can actually taste the espresso! However, the syrups created an interesting combination of flavors and it almost tasted kinda savory rather than sweet/floral. It wasn't bad and I wanted to try something new, but I'll definitely stick to my usual vanilla latte next time!

They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. I did come back to try their matcha matcha drink only to find it gone from their current menu as of May 2026. Instead, their turon matcha immediately caught my eye, as it has banana and I've been obsessed with banana-flavored toppings and puree on my matcha lately. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. Even if it isn't on the top of that list, their drinks are still 5+ star quality.

What I really loved is that the matcha isn't overwhelmed by milk. The tea itself is the star, giving it a rich, balanced flavor that really shines through. We ordered the matcha banana pudding and hojicha ginger tofu pudding lattes. Service took ~10 mins. The matcha banana pudding was yummy. The matcha was of good quality and the banana pudding top was a smooth, cream top that tasted just like banana pudding, with a fun crunch in the topping. The hojicha ginger tofu was a bit more adventurous in flavor. The ginger and tofu messed with my brain and made it feel like I was drinking a savory asian sauce/soup, but the drink was still sweet. I kept sipping, but the strange savory/sweet limbo never really balanced correctly to truly enjoy the drink. On the plus side, the silken tofu was fun to sip through the straw and added some protein. There is seating indoors, but the tables can fill up quickly. Some people were wfh, but most were chatting. There is 1 hr complimentary WiFi. Typical Seattle street parking. Overall, the latte flavors were fun to try and it was an aesthetic cafe. But, the prices for the lattes make them more of a novel, hyped up purchase.
