The reason the deal stopped was because the vehicle developed multiple serious issues during my test drives. On the first and second test drive, the vehicle triggered: * Check engine light * Battery charging malfunction warning * Engine overheating warning * Limp mode, limiting the car to under 1,500 RPM After returning to the dealership, I personally inspected the vehicle and found the main pulley had failed/separated. What concerns me is that the vehicle was advertised across multiple sites as being "fully inspected & serviced by our state-of-the-art top-rated service department." Based on the condition the vehicle presented in during my visit, I do not feel that statement reflected my experience. If I wasn't serious about purchasing the vehicle, I would not have: * Sent a $1,000 deposit * Booked a flight from Southern California to Sacramento * Planned to drive the vehicle 7-8 hours home At no point was I unwilling to buy the vehicle due to paperwork. The transaction never progressed that far because the focus became the vehicle's mechanical condition and drivability concerns. My review was based entirely on my actual experience at the dealership. Was told by another mechanic that my radiator and was cracked and needed to be replaced as well as…read moremy thermostat. Mikey from CAH had called one day to check in on how my vehicle was running from work that was done previously by them 3 months prior. I told him car was fine other than this cracked radiator issue. I asked him for a quote for the radiator and thermostat replacement and it was significantly cheaper by a few hundred bucks as to what I was told by the other mechanic. I scheduled an appointment to get it done and when I dropped off the keys Mikey mentioned I should probably get the vehicle cooling system pressure checked just to make sure the problem was the radiator and nothing else. Long story short I went along with the test and the cooling system leak ended up being an old coolant hose and fitting saving me a thousand dollar to what I was told before. California Auto House is a place I would be coming back to for any vehicle work.
