(Note cleaner used has worked fine with every other pair of glasses ever owned). Also opted for the add-on of magnetic pop on/off sunglasses. They are convenient, but the magnets are well within the field of vision. When complained about the issue was told there was nothing to do but perhaps let the manufacturer know. Finally, despite several visits for re-adjustments they still fit poorly. Back to old glasses. Waste of time and money. If you proceed anyway: Be VERY careful on your selection and stock up on the "magic" cleaner.

He decided to stop accepting new patients 2 weeks prior to my appt. I called to ask if they would honor the appt given it's long standing and was told "no." I asked them to check with Dr. McManus given the length of time the appt had been on the books. They said he had specifically told them to cancel all appts (she emphasized all). She (Megan) seemed certain he wouldn't consider it and wasn't willing to approach him about this. Bottom Line - don't expect this clinic to honor those things they've committed to. In my business, I encourage employees to come to me with these types of concerns and would never have turned down someone in this situation.

Everyone here is very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Liaw really took time to listen to me and understand my situation. She also addressed the extreme dry eye that my fancy neuro-ophthalmologist completely blew off; she gave me a prescription that after YEARS of suffering, finally works. What a breeze! After checking in, I worked with one of the team members who was super friendly and personable. She did my initial assessment of my eye exam, with the different vision tests before I was seen by the doctor. For my appointment, it took longer than an hour, so something to note in case you have a tight schedule. They take VSP, which is the vision insurance I use, so glad to know they were able to look up my account and get my payment squared away. But I decided to switch over to The Eyecare Center due to its convenient location and positive reviews, which I stand by. It's very easy to make an appointment online, which is a big factor for any kind of health care services. I've been in situations where I've had to wait forever to get an appointment and/or could only schedule an appointment with someone on the phone, which can be difficult since my schedule is very busy. For me to schedule it myself, it's very easy to do online as I can plan out and also, easily cancel when need be. The Eyecare Center also takes VSP insurance. The Eyecare Center is located near the Bellevue Botanical Garden in the Wilburton neighborhood, and is right off of NE 8th street, which is easy to get to, with plenty of parking in the private lot. There's also the B line bus stop right in front of it, making it accessible for all. Staff are always friendly and I always see the same eye doctor. The annual exam takes about an hour with the usual eye tests, dilation, etc. They do also sell eyewear here. No complaints about The Eyecare Center.

He and also scheduled me so that I was the only person at his facility for my appointment. Beyond these safety measures, the exam was very easy to do and he explained everything so thoroughly that I never had to question whether or not the resulting prescription was going to be accurate or not. He explained beforehand what he was looking for, and what he needed from me, which made everything very painless throughout the entire exam. The equipment was clean and well taken care of, the exam itself was completely painless and by far the easiest I had done and I've been wearing contacts or glasses for decades now. He was very transparent in going over the costs, and explained his recommendations. I felt heard and validated and cared for. The selection of frames at his facility left me so many options to look at, with both the simple and the fashion-forward. Anything that I handled, he made sure to sanitize as well. My two new pairs of glasses and my contacts help me see perfectly, it's everything I had hoped for and more. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I almost wish I could visit more than annually. I had an appointment at 10:30 AM at the Bellevue office today. I arrived on time and had previously…read moreconfirmed my appointment after receiving multiple reminder texts emphasizing punctuality and a $75 no-show fee for cancellations within 24 hours. However, it was 11:30 AM and I still had not been seen by the doctor. I had clearly informed the front desk that I needed to leave by 11:30, yet there was no meaningful update or accommodation. If a practice expects patients to strictly honor appointment times and threatens financial penalties for delays or cancellations, there should be the same level of respect for patients' time. Communication about delays and better schedule management would go a long way. I understand that medical offices can run behind occasionally, but a full hour without being seen -- especially after stressing punctuality in reminder messages -- is not acceptable. I hope Overlake EyeCare takes patient time as seriously as it expects patients to take theirs.
