I happen to look up bars around the area and saw this place and decided to try something new. I'm so freakin HAPPY we went to Overtime...the food was sooo DELICIOUS!!!! I ordered the philly cheesesteak nachos...OMG...I've been trying to get back to Birmingham to order that again!!! I stole a buffalo wing off my mans basket and fell in love with them too...the chicken is so plump and juicy...the buffalo sauce had the right amount of heat.There was a large group there that was very loud and I was getting annoyed by them standing around us talking BUT the food made up for the noise and crowd. There was also no waitress (had to go to the bar to put an order in), it didn't bother us though. The Overtown is a classic sports bar with friendly service and really good (but limited) food menu. All the basics are here, burgers, wings, club sandwich, even a shrimp po boy. Decided to go back because my nail girl talked me into it and since she's like my daughter I had to listen to her. Lol.(I'm glad I did) It was a much better experience this time. Bartenders were nice. Was very crowded but food came out in a timely manner. I love the fries here, not to salty just right! I was told to try the chili fries but now that I'm older I can only eat so much. Haha but the wraps here are great. Makes me feel like I'm eating healthy and I'll cheat with a "few" fries. Overtime is a great atmosphere... I've been going since it opened 5 years ago. It's somewhere you can go and feel at home... Go more than 2 or 3 times and they'll already know/have what you're drinking ready before you sit down. It's my 2nd home... I go and watch all the games, hang with friends and eat some of the best food around. I crave the wings all the time, it's def worth the drive from Pelham... Paul which is the owner will take care of you no matter what. I love it because his customers become family... Great place for lunch. I have been going there a couple of times a week since their first year and never had a bad meal. Staff is friendly and attentive. It can get quite busy for lunch and wait times increase but the quality of the food is worth the wait. I have been coming to this bar for a few years now. Love sending my clients there to grab a quick bite or drink, since it's so convenient for them after getting their nails done. I do recommend this place to everyone who works in the area or live in the area. I have bumped into a couple minor issues at the bar. Nothing that couldn't be fixed though. I love some of the bartenders here. They will go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. ROSE AND ALAN especially will take care of you. For instance Alan will actually care to ask about your day and make the conversation on to a personal note. Makes you feel special. Rose has a bubbly personality that will have you forget you ever had a bad day. That's the kind of service you get when you're eating here or grabbing a drink . It's one thing when you go somewhere and just eat or have a drink it's another when you actually go somewhere and they make it personal by remembering your name , or what you order to eat and what kind of drinks you get. On top of everything there is to say about this place. The food here is pretty tasty. I love their chilli cheese fries and their corn nuggets. They also have a happy hour Monday to Friday from 3:30 to 6:30 which is when I order those yummy appetizer! (5$) I also love their chicken quesodilla it is something you have to give a try. First bite just melts in your mouth. As far as for drinks I love their rum runner, Alan can make a mean drink he is the best in my book. I have been here twice and both times I was not impressed. The first time was to watch the Auburn vs. Georgia game. The atmosphere was fun and the drinks were good but the food was subpar. There is one large projector screen and it is first come, first serve so some Nebraska fan claimed the large tv first. The second time we went was to watch the Miami Hurricanes bowl game (which I am a big fan of). So it's been a year since I first came here, and everything I said before is still true. Overtime is the bomb. They have a great assortment of beer, food and drink specials almost every night, trivia, and other fun events. I went last week for trivia and there happened to be a tap takeover by Ghost Train Brewing Co. at the same time, so we got to try fun new beers and meet the owner of Ghost Train as well as get our trivia on! The top placing teams of trivia usually win a gift card of some kind, which makes coming back a little easier on the wallet :) I tried the buffalo chicken salad, which was full of flavor and there was plenty of ranch without having to ask for extra. They have also started selling prepped meals that are easy to heat throughout the week and I haven't tried them yet, but they look oh so delicious. Paul, the owner, is genuinely one of the nicest guys ever and wants to make sure your experience is great. I stopped by this morning to watch the game with some friends and had a great time. There weren't many people there this morning so the bartender waited on us and he continued to do so even as the restaurant filled up. The manager also stopped by and made sure we were having a good time. The food came out pretty fast and most of their drinks were a pretty good price. Order the moscow mule even if it's not on the menu ;) The food is pretty reasonable for bar food. The only thing is we ended up with way more condiments than we wanted. I got the caesar salad and it came with an extra side of caesar dressing (even though the salad was already dressed?). We also got 2 orders of ranch with fried pickles and an extra order of sour cream and salsa with the quesadillas. If you are checking the menu online, just know that the menu at the restaurant was a little different. I went at 11AM and checked the Lunch menu before I got there (I'm a vegetarian so I was making sure there were options for me) and was pleased with the spinach salad but when I got there that wasn't on the menu. It wasn't a big deal just know that the menus are a little different. Would definitely return! read more
