Our food was amazing. We had shishito peppers, grilled watermelon, a catfish special and a caesar salad with salmon. Everything was so good. We found Owls Nest online and decided to give it a try. It was a terrific experience! From the food to the lore, this was one of the best experience from a restaurant we've had in quite a while. Make sure to ask Daniel about the story of the restaurant. We had (and highly recommend) the build your platter. We had chicken, brisket, lamb and short ribs with the signature bbq sauce and the raspberry bbq sauce as well as the Mac and cheese, fries, grilled vegetables and pickled add ons. The presentation on a huge cutting board was gorgeous. I wish I had taken a picture but we just dug into it. I should mention we had two Texans and they raved about the European style bbq- very high quality and perfectly smoked. Forgot to mention the appetizers- we had the shrimp cocktail and broccoli with Palomo cream sauce- both excellent. We had honey cake and the chocolate gem- also delicious. Disappointing Service Despite Tasty Food We chose this restaurant because my son-in-law was craving ribs. We visited around 3:30 PM on Father's Day, and while the food itself was good, unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. To start, we were informed that they were out of ribs -- a bit surprising given the occasion and time of day and that this is what the restaurant was popular for serving.  And, we were not informed until midway through ordering our meals. Our server was in training and accompanied by a more experienced staff member. However, the service was still quite poor. The trainee spoke so softly we could barely hear her, and she was not attentive to our table. When our meals were brought out, she reached across the table to hand me my plate rather than serving from the side, and the dishes were not delivered according to who had ordered what -- it seemed she hadn't taken note of our orders properly. We had to ask for water refills and more ice tea as she rarely checked in with us. At one point, we saw her setting up tables on the patio rather than attending to guests already seated. Toward the end of our meal, she did ask if we needed anything else, but never once asked how the food was or if everything was okay. After finishing, we waited over 25 minutes before anyone brought us the check. We spoke to the gentleman who was supposed to be training her, but he had not checked on us either. When we shared our concerns, he offered a string of excuses about their training process, and trying to make improv, though he did apologize. He eventually wished the men in our group a "Happy Father's Day" -- but only at the very end of the visit, not when we arrived. We won't be returning -- not because of the food, which was enjoyable -- but due to the lack of service and the high prices that simply don't match the experience. read more

Let me tell you that the Owl's Nest will not disappoint and is definitely a must stop place! From the first drink to the last bite every item was made to perfection! We had the burger which was not only delicious, but looked amazing and presented well. I'd really love to give this place 5 stars. The place is nice inside. Our servers seemed a little lost. They kept bringing drinks to our table which we didn't order. My fiancée was given a house made lemonade which was very good. We started with the Wagyu brisket. It's supposed to feed 2 or 3. It was very small and not worth $45. The brisket I had for a meal was probably better. Cole slaw and mashed potatoes were excellent. My fiancée pork belly again was very good. The honey cake for dessert was melt in your mouth. The person who seated my girlfriend and I was about as personable as a door knob, and seemed far better suited to working at a fast food restaurant. We then waited no less than15 minutes before a young kid finally come over to take our order, He was slightly more personable than the door knob, but clearly inexperienced and never offered to refill our beverages even once. The wait to get our food was terribly long and not worth what we received. I got the brisket, which consisted of 3-4 rolled up pieces of brisket along side some mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Who serves brisket rolled up in a circle? My girlfriend had the pulled pork sandwich, which she described as 'fine'. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a, 4 out of 10, because like an Owl, they seem to be more asleep than awake during the day, but for the same of it hungry patrons, I hope they do better at 'feeding' during the night. read more

What a mistake this was! Possibly the worst eating experience of my 60 year old lifetime.We met friends there on 6/11/25, they are gluten free and this place has an expensive gluten free menu. It is a nice place inside and the patio does have a nice view. But let's get to the food. Basically all items are gluten free,which was a nice selection. The main course seemed overpriced. So all 4 of us ( 2 are gluten free and one also is dairy free), so we opted for the build your own platter section. My wife and a friend wanted the grilled broccoli starter which came with a cream drizzled on it which contained dairy. We ask for the cream to be put on the side. After our waiter checked with the chef he deemed this was an OK option. My friend wanted the lamb chops and after several discussion with the chef the waiter said they could be made dairy free so he ordered them, after the order was placed we were told they were out of lamb chops.! So we all ordered different meats so we all could sample each other's. I got French fries, more on that later. All the meats were served dry and you had to order barbecue sauce for a price( One dollar each for a small little serving.) My pulled pork was dry even with the sauce, my wife's pork ribs were so dry they were almost uneatable. My female friends pork belly was hard and very bad. The only good meat out of the four was the brisket. I don't understand this but the specials of the night were already on the menu, maybe they were trying to get rid of some inventory. Before ordering our dinners we were told if we wanted dessert we had to order now as they were all hand made and there were only 2 options, so we ordered one of each. Now back to the grilles broccoli starter. The drizzled sauce that we requested just be put on the side cost each couple $2.50 cents to be put on the side!? Ridiculous!! I guess pouring that sauce in a little bowl instead of drizzling it on the broccoli cost five dollars!! And member my French fries? I requested ketchup for them and that cost 50 cents!! Absurd! So 4 sauces for the meat , a cream for the broccoli and ketchup cost the table and unimaginable $9.50 cents. I am glad I did not request salt and pepper for my meat or fries , can't imagine that cost. Oh almost forget the 2 desserts we had to pre-order, I guess your had to pre-order due to the fact they had to be taken out of the freezer to warm up. Honey Cake I ordered was horrible and about roughly 34 degrees. My female gluten free friend said she was gonna leave a similar review on which ever gluten free restaurant review list she uses.The whole night we saw two other tables occupied , beside the one that came in later which was obviously friends or family. The owners or chef need to make food their priority instead of taking pictures of their menu items which they were doing when we left! STAY AWAY!!! read more
