This is actually the first time I was at The Deck *not* with a work group (which they are also good for), so we got to try some of the better menu items. It's really amazing what they can produce on a houseboat, especially since they have to wheel their supplies down the same ramp you entered on. Pretty much all the staff were cheerful and friendly, which is my regular experience and kinda amazing when you think about how this place is only open 5 months a year. This is really what you're here for, and the ambiance of having a pint while watching the sailboats go under the 5 bridge. The food is probably 3.5 stars, but they get a 5 for service and ambiance. Some tips: Go to The Deck on a weekday, it's far less crowded. Sit on the patio if there's room and you can do it without staring into the sun (bring a hat, just in case). Parking is in the McCuddy Marina parking lot, to the *left* (right is for marina members only). Some of the "standard pub" items are lackluster (like the Caesar salad); stick to their seafood and tacos, which are much better. Also, the vegetarian/vegan options are pretty boring, unless you just want fries, which are great. Warning, though: if you are mobility-impaired, The Deck is probably not for you; the McCuddy Marina involves steep ramps and a long walk on very cluttered piers.
