I had a wonderful experience! I got lunch with my friend here, and I enjoyed my time. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. I got their lunch special, available 11am-3pm on weekdays I believe, and it was a great deal. It comes with your choice of sushi and ramen for only $14! I got a spicy tuna roll and kuro ramen. They were both excellent! I do warn anyone thinking about the kuro ramen that it is very garlicky. I means you'd expect it from the description, but it is very strong, so if you're not into that and/or have somewhere to be after and don't want to stink, I wouldn't recommend it. However, I love garlic and had nowhere to be, so I definitely enjoyed it! Where do I begin...? They only get 2 stars because the manager apologized about the tea. I asked for a booth and it was clear they did not want to let us eat in one. So we got a small table. I ordered hot tea and what I got was hot water with a hint of tea. I ask for a teabag and he said they used their last one. From what it tasted like they reused it to make my cup. Turns out they use pods. In either case it was clear it wasn't the first time it was used. Spicy albacore roll was not spicy, but it was the most enjoyable part of our lunch. Then we get to the ramen. Never in all my times of having ramen did I walk away regretting my food. Till today. The ramen was so salty, noodles were extremely mushy, and the layer of grease on top was unreal. Neither of us ate much. For a place with a 4* review I'm quite surprised. A myriad of Japanese foods await you in here from unique sushi rolls to ramen, rice bowls and even some bulgogi. The service is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere uses every nook and cranny to provide you a seat or a beautiful Asian vibe that's quiet and relaxing to dine in. So far, this is the best ramen that I've had outside of Astoria. The chashu pork was OUTSTANDING! Crisp grilled edges; tender, pull apart meat; juicy fat; and flavor to knock your socks off! The broth is amazing; creamy, salty and delicious! The egg was perfectly soft boiled. My only lament is that they don't include the fish cake so there is room for improvement, but otherwise fantastic! read more

We stopped by here to eat after my appt at VPC. This place did not disappoint me. I'm the time of person who read reviews this is why I gave this place a shot. We ordered Takoyaki, Karaage Bowl, Chasu Bowl & Surf & Turf Roll. The server was really nice the bottled water was also free the ambiance was good the place is clean they even have hand sanitizers & chlorox wipes at the corner of each table. Doesn't live up to expectations. We went here a few weeks back and had a lukewarm experience. The hostess situation is strange with the person at the host stand ignoring us and other people waving us towards open seats at the bar. They kept waving us to the sushi bar but we wanted a table so waited for one to be cleared. I think because there were 2 of us they didn't want to seat us at a 4 top even though there were plenty of open tables. My first impression upon walking in was that the atmosphere was all wrong. It's extremely loud - both the music and the acoustics - and has metal tables like a diner with a busy patterned floor. It's incongruous with the menu and the sake bar, more like shake shack than a chill sushi/ramen restaurant. Our waitress was nice but service was very slow. We had a lovely tuna appetizer and sparkling sake to start, both were great. Then we each had ramen which was underwhelming. It was salty but had no other flavor. I was ok with it but my husband was not a fan. I would go back to try more dishes but the ambiance is out of whack and my husband did not like the food or service. I visited this spot during my lunch on a Wednesday. They have a decent lunch special when you order ramen, you get a California roll or spicy tuna roll for $14. Not bad of a deal. The sushi was delicious, however the ramen could of been better. I ordered the Koru ramen. There was a ton of fried garlic, which I loved but the soup came out room temperature. Honestly, the service was what make it a five stars for me, they were so friendly and one of them asked us to what's the sign for "you're welcome" after we thanked them in ASL. They also quickly changed the order as soon my friend had the wrong plate and was very generous to allow us order one free item in which I believed he got one of the rolls. I got the miso soup, pan fired vegetable gyoza, korokke, and had couple of the avocado rolls from my friend. I love everything I ordered but the korokke could be little bit better. I feel like it's missing something but I devoured them all anyway. I had recommended my other friends to check out this place after I left and they couldn't get over it, was very happy to hear that. We ordered ramen and roll combos which is 13 bucks and all the foods we ordered were good enough. Usually, Ramen restaurant in DFW area serve too salty ramen but their ramen is pretty balanced taste and perfect portion for me. And I read someone's review that their Takoyaki is amazing so we ordered it too. Honestly, its not much crazily delicious but pretty enjoyable. We started with one waiter that we gave part of our order to the manager who took over since we ordered some wine. Our first order was never put in.
