Big Bob founded the spot back in 1925 and only recently passed away, giving the business to his children. The place is an institution of the state and is packed on weekends. Prices are from an era that's now long gone, making this not only incredible BBQ, but also a steal for the money. I mean, who sells a BBQ pork sandwich for under $5 in 2026? Many staff working here clearly have been around for a long, long time. So, one might ask, what should I get at Big Bob's? For starters, the chicken wings. Likely the best smoked wings to be had anywhere: just the right amount of smokey profile while being tender and juicy. True perfection in something that's hard to master. Next, one of the samplers is not a bad idea. Pulled pork is truly state of the art, winning many competitions around the South. Ribs are fall off the bone and delicious. Brisket is good, but a low fat version that might or might not be to someone's taste. Hand cut French fries and baked beans as a side, and finally, life is all set. Sure, if one gets more adventure, the ice box cakes are wonderful also, with the coconut varietal being a standout. Stop by, enjoy and leave with bragging rights for having tried something truly one of a kind.

It was extremely tender and melts in your mouth! You don't need a knife because it falls apart on its own and it was seasoned to perfection. The smoked wings were delicious as well and paired perfectly with the white sauce. The mac wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed the potato salad. The Texas toast was a great addition and was perfect for creating a little bbq sandwich. My total came out to around $32 which I felt was a bit pricey when I had paid but after getting my plate I realized how large the portions were which totally justified the cost. At most BBQ restaurants I usually finish all my food but here I had left overs so I basically got 2 meals out of the one plate. Another thing I liked is that they have a variety of sauces and they aren't stingy with them. Overall this is a great spot with friendly staff that provides wonderful service. We both had the Swiss mushroom burger. A soft, brioche bun, large, juicy burger and so many mushrooms that they were falling off of the bun. Greasy is an understatement but absolutely delicious is not. THIS was a good burger. The accompanying steak fries were kind of a letdown but the sweet potato fries rocked. We ordered the kids cheeseburger for our 4 year old grandson. The burger looked great but we made the mistake of giving him fries before he ate his burger. How embarrassing to make such a rookie mistake! We couldn't finish what we had but we also weren't going to miss the house made cheesecake with lavender syrup. This bit of deliciousness was a perfect addition to our evening binge of season finales. I am so very glad that we tried Southern Wagyu again. Painted all in red with an impressive porcine mascot, it's hard to miss this handsome food truck. I would say prices are quite fair, especially for a food truck, which I find is often more expensive than I feel it should be. Here, we got a pulled pork sandwich plate, which came with a sandwich and my choice of two sides, as well as a regular pulled pork sandwich with just a bag of chips, and two canned drinks for about $17. I find it's not unusual to pay $12 for one person alone at many other trucks, so this was a good deal. The two young adults running the truck were very pleasant and our food came out promptly. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table when it is ready. Soda and iced tea are self serve at a drink station. The ambiance is very cozy. Prices are about average.
