Four stars for the service: friendly and quick. But the food was just ok. It's been a over a year since we've stopped here. My husband used to stop here regularly for lunch and would sometimes bring me leftover bbq and it was good. BBQ Bob is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It's a renovated house, they've removed all landscaping in the front and installed cement with tables and benches. There is a covered area to order your food. This visit i called in our order and my husband picked up. I ordered their Thursday special: rib sandwich, one side (I chose greens) and a drink. $9, I think which is a great lunch price. When I asked if they had unsweetened tea, I should have asked if they have fresh brewed tea because he meant they have lit on tea in cans. Oh well. I did not enjoy the greens at all, they were a bit bitter. There are a million ways to cook greens so I just didn't get lucky. The rib sandwich was tender rib meat off the bone, tossed in a good amount of bbq sauce and in a soft hoagie bun. They were not stingy with the meat (it's not overloaded either) and I loved that soft bun. I would have loved the sandwich so much more except I'm a weirdo that doesn't really care for bbq sauce all over my meat. Next time I'll know to ask for it on the side. My husband loved his 3 meat plate with one side (baked beans). So, overall, food 3.5 stars and service 4 stars. read more

I came to BBQ Bob on 08/10/22 as I needed to take care of an incident that occurred. Upon arrival I noticed how CLEAN and beautiful the grounds were! I thought to myself how come I've NEVER seen this cute place! Upon arrival there were two customers ahead of me and we chatted a bit. I asked to speak to the manager which I believe her name was Pamela. The most sweetest lady ever. Staff informed me she will be right out and guess what BOB came out and greeted me as well. The hospitality is was AMAZING and they took my concerns seriously. They took the time and I let them know I was happy to be here and glad the situation happened or I would never known about this place. Bob informed me they have been open since November 2020. I'm disappointed that Bobs is not on the map especially being a Black Owned Business! You can tell the pride in the place is THERE. Very pleasant experience and beautiful. I was lucky enough to try the BBQ and it is reasonably priced! The GOOD part was that the BBQ was AMAZING when I say AMAZING it was DELICIOUS. My mouth is already watering for those ribs I had. Probably one of the best RIBS I had and meat as well. My family was able to sample a little of it and it was GONE in seconds. We are planning on returning soon as the flavors was delicious and the BBQ was on point - that Smokey flavor !!!! I liked the sweet potato pie which was delicious and they also have peach cobbler !!! I'm putting them on the map because they deserve it! The food speaks for itself! I will be back soon as the dude wants to try it he was upset I didn't share xD. They are having new hours starting soon! Which is perfect for my work schedule and family day's schedule too! Definitely recommend !! This bbq spot is a hidden Gem in Fresno. The chicken and Tri Tip Sandwiches are delicious, the bread has a freshly baked texture. Corn bread, greens and the Mac are good with the combo. The cashier is polite and professional. The outdoor patio area is nice and quiet during lunch time. read more

I ordered a 3 meat plate with 2 sides. The full meal was 2 slices tri-tip, 2 pork ribs, 2 dark meat chicken, corn bread and a drink for $21. Not a bad deal for bbq. All the meat was tender and juicy. I'm not huge on sweets beans or beans in general but I'll take seconds on their baked beans. Not the best bbq I've had but I'll eat here over a few bbq chain restaurants. read more

This place is not the easiest to find! Waze helped me get there! Upon arriving a nice older man greeted me and was very welcoming. It's a regular family home made into a restaurant. They have a big bbq area set up. They have tables to where you can sit and enjoy if you would like. I went up to the window and ordered a bbq chicken sandwich combo. It comes with a drink of your choice and a side. I asked for a diet soda, but they do not carry that so I picked a water. I asked what the most popular side was and the worker told me Mac N Cheese so I picked that one. I also ordered cornbread. It looked good! I waited a short time and my order was ready. Got it and left. I split everything to give the other half to my mother to try. The chicken sandwich half with their bbq sauce added was really tasty! It had the yummy BBQ flavor! This restaurant is top ranked in bbq in this town. The service is excellent! The food is even better than the service and that's saying a mouthful. I had the 3 meat combo with 2 sides and some peach cobbler. The crust on the cobbler was amazingly delicious. On my combo I had the hot link which was delicious and I had the tri tip which was also delicious and I had the ribs which were my favorite. For my sides I had the amazing greens and the macaroni n cheese. Everything including the cornbread was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Definitely a refreshing stop after a long day of work. As a Southerner, I judge my BBQ & greens pretty harshly, but I was absolutely satisfied by the smoky Mac and cheese, meaty greens, and spicy smoked Ribs & Chicken. We received hearty portions with plenty to take home. I wish the meat in the greens didn't have bones in it, but I get they use scrap meat for it. The cornbread also was a bit dry, but I'm sure that's the style out West. We chatted with the owner Bob who was super friendly and authentic while sitting in a shady "front-yard" style dining area which was plenty cool. I am a huge fan of slow cooked BBQ. This was my 3rd attempt to eat here as the two previous attempts, it was closed. The stand is all outdoor. The staff is attentive in helping adjust the umbrellas, but that's about all they can do. Brisket is great here. The spices mixes with the natural juices making for a true melt-in-your-mouth experience. I'd come back just for that. I am a big fan of hot links. I had to add one to my order to try. I was not disappointed. I got a side of baked mac and cheese. It was like a cheese and noodle casserole. The cheese was nice and flavorful. It was pretty good. The lady was talking on the phone and when she got to me, it was like a movie skit how horrible she was, she plated my food like I was a dog. It's ok. We were hoping for better. Seemed a bit pricey, but everything is going up. Basically they smoke everything and serve it that way with bbq sauce in little plastic cups. Food is all served in to-go containers. There are two umbrella outdoor tables and two picnic tables under a canopy. Drinks are canned soda or bottled water. They show pics of a delicious looking half chicken, but what they serve is thighs. Ribs tasted a bit old or freezer burned maybe. Hot links were good! Tri-tip is big, thick sliced chunks. Greens lacked flavor, beans were really sweet. Mac n cheese was good when you stirred up the liquid from the bottom. Potato salad was good. Peach cobbler was heavily spiced. Folks were friendly. P&M has good bbq. Tri tip was very tender, the sauce was good, and the service was fast. I got the two meat meal for 18 dollars. I chose mac n cheese and potato salad as my side with tri tip and chicken as the meats. Chicken is very well seasoned with a smoky flavor; I would recommend. The tri tip did not have as much flavor but was saved with the sauce. Its very tender though. I did not care for the cornbread but that may be because I like mine a little sweet and buttery. The potato salad was not nasty but I would not order it again, it was too much mustard for me but it was a nice portion and the diced potatoes were a nice texture. The mac n cheese had a nice texture as well and another nice portion, but was a little too salty for me. Unfortunately they were out of all sweets and had no hot links so I did not get to try them but I would visit again and I do recommend you to give them a try. read more

Don't do it. I was really looking forward to this food and was disappointed to say the least. Cornbread wasn't ready so we were asked to wait 15-20 minutes and it ended up being 40 minutes. We weren't offered even an extra soda as consolation. The place wasn't busy at all so that wasn't the problem. Food was bland. We ordered 5 plates and every one of us was disappointed. The meat isn't seasoned well and served dry. You get 2 TINY little cups of bbq sauce with your meal. Potato salad tastes store bought. Mac and cheese was OK but that's it. Greens were blah. They also charged us for 2 extra fries that we didn't order but we were already late back to work so we didnt go back. The lady at the counter is nice but that's it. I wouldn't have given them a star at all but there's no option for that. By far the WORST BBQ spot I have ever tasted. Brisket was dry chicken was dry, they didn't give me enough BBQ sauce and even the sauce wasn't all that. I am extremely disappointed but I guess with the name Bobs BBQ that should have told me something. Greens were actually good which I could give a one star for and Mac and cheese was not bad but I wouldn't order it again. Mac and cheese definitely could have used more flavor and cooked evenly since some of the macaroni noodles were dry. I have given about 5 reviews on food in my 30+ years of life and this had to be done because it was that bad. If you like it you like it and if you don't you don't. I will NEVER eat here again and that's my prerogative. My opinion is that this food is nasty and I stand by it. It may not be the experience of anyone else; however as much as I've traveled and tried different foods, and as much as I like food, I can safely say I've had way better BBQ. Hopefully this business looks at reviews and changes them and continues to be successful because it's hard to run a good business and the success is that it's still standing so that's something. Don't let the good looks fool y'all!!! The outside appearance lies about what's inside! What's inside the Potato salad tastes like..... we won't say the brand.... Winco's prepackaged, the Macaroni and Cheese tastes like boxed Macaroni and cheese with some slice cheese added. The greens have no, none, zip, zilch, nada for flavor tastes more like Glory Greens out of the CAN!!! The chicken was dry, the beef hot links had pork casings and the Tri Tip I asked for was two pieces of fat wrapped in foil. And to top it all off... I asked for 3 meats 2 sides no pork, Tri Tip, Chicken and Hot links!!!! I got pork ribs and mystery meat wrapped in foil SMH!!! Was not cooked, I confronted the guys ate the counter about it and they tried to convince me the meat was smoked all day without looking at it. The meat was raw. They have gotten extremely lazy with service. They don't give good pieces of chicken. read more

WOW! Really good barbecue!! Just finished my first plate from them. I had the 2 meat rib and tri tip. Potato salad and BBQ beans. The taste and tenderness of the meat was excellent. Five stars for these guys. Will definitely go back. read more
