Called to purchase 2 AC's for delivery and installation in a coop building that has strict requirements for insurance etc. First salesperson was not great. Difficult to communicate with and gave me erroneous information while trying to mansplain. Also quoted me an outrageous price for installation that was more than the AC units! I almost went to Home Depot instead, but based on my previous experiences with PC Richard over the years, I gave them another chance. Called again and spoke with another sales rep who was super competent and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions patiently and took care of the COI's my managing agency required. He gave me a much more reasonable delivery and installation price compared with the first sales rep . Everything went smoothly and I am extremely happy with my new AC's. I guess my advice is to change sales reps if you're not satisfied because PC Richard generally has great ones. read more

The level of incompetence is unbelievable. Friendly, polite, and utterly and infuriatingly incompetent service. Alex, in particular, should be fired. Possibly Anthony, too. Alex couldn't read a simple screen (the folks at the UWS branch showed me his error) and sent me to pick up a purchase at the UWS store -- but it wasn't in inventory there at all. So I was promised same day delivery by messenger within 3 hours. When I called after 3 hours, I was told by Anthony it had been scheduled for the next day, and he convinced me not to demand the refund but to wait. He couldn't give me a precise time window, just 7 am to 7 pm. When I called the next afternoon to ask when it will arrive, it was Alex on the phone again. It had been scheduled with UPS, not a messenger, and he couldn't immediately tell me for when and said he would call me right back. He never called, but when I called after 20 minutes, he answered as if nothing was up. He started saying that it would be delivered next week, no Friday, no Thursday. Talk about getting jerked around. Wtf? I told him to refund me and forget it. (The whole attitude was very Kids in the Hall "oops, it must've slipped my mind." IYKYK). The shittiest part is that the purchase is a heater for my kid's bedroom. Our building boiler is on the fritz and my kid's is sick. Information o shared with these folks. How crappy can you get. We bought an AC unit here for the upcoming summer, the two salespeople that helped us were attentive and stayed with us through a long deliberation about the right size AC and the BTUs we wanted and the touch screen versus buttons and all that so I would say they were very patient above all which is the second best thing you can be as a salesperson. The delivery people were rude and negligent and destroyed my new floors, my front door, my door casing/trim, the molding and the fridge itself. Just look at the photos. We had just spent a lot of money to remodel our new home and were excited to move in when this happened. What's worse, I put in a claim for damages with P.C. Richard and they DENIED my claim. They completely deny any liability and left me with almost FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS in damages. I have never encountered such HORRIBLE customer service in my life and will never order from P.C. Never ever again. I ordered a refrigerator about two weeks ago. Last week the emailed me to schedule my delivery. I scheduled delivery for Saturday. Friday night I get two emails with two different delivery time frames. So basically they were coming anytime between 8am-2pm ok fine I'll wait. Saturday morning I clean out the garage for the fridge and wait. At 9:28am I get a phone call from the driver saying he'll be there in 10min. I'm thinking this is perfect I still have the entire day to go to the pool. At 10:30am hasn't shown. I tried calling and texting the delivery guy but he shut his phone off. Weird. By noon I try reaching out to customer service via phone no answer. I email multiple times as the website says they answer customer service emails on Saturday. What a joke they never responded. At 3pm I call customer service again and this time I get a rude gentlemen who first tried telling me my order wasn't ready to be scheduled to be delivered and I'm mistaken. No sir I have to proof of emails and the cell phone number of your driver. Then he changes his tune telling me it's a warehouse error and the fridge is still in Long Island. He then proceeds very rudely to tell me "what do you want me to do, not my fault they screw up, things happen." He offered me $50 refund and he would reschedule for Thursday as he said there was no one way to get the fridge before then. Fine whatever I guess I'll wait. After I hang up with him about ten minutes later I get emailed a receipt for a refund he had cancelled the order!!!!! Obviously spiteful and I wish I had gotten his name. What did I do next? Went on Lowe's website and they had the same fridge ready for next delivery. So I got my Fridge from Lowe's on time without incident. I always went with PC cause the fridge was a $100 cheaper. I recemtly bought a refrigerator from this shop. I chose it over HomeDept (across the street) because I was told the item was in the warehouse and could be delivered sooner. Less than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery, I got a voicemail that it was not in the warehouse. I was given no information on which it would come. Calls to the store went unanswered. I finally went in person and was about to get delivered scheduled for the following week. However, when the delivery guys arrived with the fridge, they told me I would need a "higher end" team because the fridge would need to be lifted to get it into position. Usually, when obstacles like stairs need to be taken into account, the sales or delivery team will ask in advance,, but nobody asked any questions and I assumed we would not have a problem. We needed a new fridge after our Frigidaire died (compressor I think?) after 28 years of yeoman work. My wife & I did some research on a suitable replacement (Consumer Reports & Google searches) & then had to pick a location to buy...we'd had good past experiences with PC Richard, so if it ain't broke, right? We were thinking LG, Samsung or Frigidaire. We walked through the extensive showroom, knew we wanted counted depth, French door with lower drawer freezer. We were thankfully uninterrupted by salespeople until we needed one. John happened by at the right time and patiently answered our questions from drawer use to handle removal to delivery expectations with patience & smiles the entire time. Needless to say, we were really happy with his answer's & general disposition. He's a great guy to work with. We chose the Frigidaire (on sale at a price of $1440 with tax, removal, delivery & installation) and expect delivery next week. I highly recommend working with John. My refrigerator stopped working on July 4th. A service guy came to look at the fridge on July 7th and had to order a part which was in stock that same day. I was scheduled for service on July 14th and no one showed. When I called customer service once the service window time passed, I was first told he was delayed and when I called again they said he never showed for work and I was rescheduled for today July 17th. I never received a second confirmation notification with the time window, so I called Customer service again. Now I am told that the service person is still not available and have been rescheduled for Monday 7/20. I find it hard to believe he is the only service person is all of Connecticut. I have been without a fridge for 2 weeks now. Whomever is in charge of dispatch should be fired for not communicating with customers and poor management. I am also selling my house and this fridge must be fixed ASAP! I have now given up 3 days to wait around at home and now have to wait on Monday again. I should be billing PC Richards for my time. We called our plumber whi came and discovered P.C Richards installers had shut off a valve going to our hot water heater. thats not the worst of it. I ordered, and paid, $13,022 on May 20th, 2025 for a refrigerator and microwave. Until this week nearly mid September, (when I finally stopped being nice and made a fuss) I started to receive my goods & services that were missing. Withholding that for nearly 4months after taking so much of my money is theft. (I already spoke with police and plan to file criminal charges against the managers and associates I worked with at my local precinct) The refrigerator was delivered early July but was improperly installed. (And they advertise that they get it right the first time... NOPE). Those installers also left my apartment a MESS. Moved a couch which required two of the men to move and then left it for me to move back myself. They rolled up my carpets and left them in the middle of the living room and I tripped and fell and bruised my face (I have pictures for the criminal investigation) The sales associate, Silvio Scortez sent another PC Richard installer, who did not fix it. He claimed it was because the water wasn't on, but that made no sense because all the other appliances linked to it had water and some water does come out. So we got a representative of the manufacturer to come, and he independently verified that the refrigerator is fine, it was improperly installed and of course the water is on. So Silvio sent another set of installers, they were still unsuccessful. Those guys claimed it was the temperature of the water which is an even more absurd reason and anyone with basic science knowledge knows that's not true. It has been left there since July. As of mid September now. My microwave was attempted to be delivered on July 17th (note: two months after they happily processed my thousands of dollars that could have been accruing interest in a bank account). It did not fit, I wanted them to leave it anyway, but the installers took the microwave with them. The manager, Joseph Graves, claimed I told them to take it but that is false and slander putting words in my mouth, I would have never signed off on that, and I didn't. I called over and over again, sent multiple unanswered emails but Silvio and the managers (Joseph Graves, William Campbell, Bill) at the Manhattan Chelsea store ignored me and essentially ghosted me. (I obviously have timestamped emails and phone calls with time duration to show they were unanswered) Haven't we learned by 2025 that you can't lie about things that are timestamped? They are making it out to be my fault and I am flabbergasted by the flagrant gaslighting by these men. I also want to side note that in late May I took a day off of work (and lost pay) so that PC Richard installers could come do measurements and verify everything is okay and will fit. They checked off that YES it WOULD fit and everything was fine. I have the documents that literally say this and the owner does NOT need to make changes. Then of course on July 17th they blamed me. I have email proof of me showing Silvio all of the documents but he did not care. Nevertheless, I played nice, after July 17th I made the changes right away. I tried to tell Silvio this, however, as mentioned, he stopped responding to me. No signs of life. Ghosted with my microwave. Exasperated, on Monday (9/8/25) I sent an angry email to the managers, filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and a few other NY consumer fraud complaint agencies, and FINALLY got some responses. Silvio and Joesph magically remembered I existed. After much, much, much back and forth. I received the microwave on 9/10. Still not properly installed but at this point I'd soo much rather do that quick easy fix myself. Home renovations 101. Not sure why they charge an installation fee if their installers can't actually install? As of right now, the refrigerator is still not fixed. I have received zero compensation for these unprofessional negligent mistakes. I feel that taking my money on May 20th when it could have been in the bank and used elsewhere and holding my goods & services was inexcusable and I want a refund for the damages. I lost wages for ALL of the appointments I had to stay home for. Today the manager Joseph suggested that he set up a time for them to come and remove all of the appliances so they can give me my money back. Sounds a lot like a scared bully school boy trying to leave my home with my refrigerator. Wild. You want this guy managing a store throwing out solutions like that? Overall, this has been incredibly distressing from a company I admired literally from my fond childhood memories. I recently visited the PC Richards on the Somerville Circle to buy a stove. I wasn't sure what to choose since I currently have electric and wanted to switch to gas. Eddie O. came over to help me and was extremely knowledgeable and patient as I made my choice. When I got home, I realized the stove I picked wouldn't fit in the space. There are forms to be completed for the building's management agent, the Department of Buildings, and the selection of a plumber for installation. This is in addition to the different manufacturers, models, and selecting a warranty. Jacob from the appliance department guided me through all of this in a meticulous and thoughtful manner. This is the second and last time I order from them. The first time I ordered our delivery was delayed several times but we eventually got it. I decided to try and place another order months later and first the delivery was delayed because it was "damaged during delivery" on the next try the order was delivered to a completely different address and claimed it was delivered. Trying to resolve this issue was a nightmare. I had to spend the entire day on the phone going back and forth with customer service. They are fighting me on replacing my AC. Manager - I guess Brian - will not call back. First, when I went into the store last Sunday because the AC - which is less than a year old so is still under warranty- was told that I need to speak with their customer service. Okay...I called the number I was given, & to make a long story short I got a call telling me that I was all set for a replacement & that I should stop into the store. I assumed that this was to set up an appointment to have it delivered. However, when I did stop in I was told that I need to talk to their customer service manager- this in spite that their customer service had approved the replacement. I called twice Friday, & of course did not get to speak with their customer service manager. I was told that he would call me back, but of course had not. Don't buy here. The last AC I purchased from them did not last as long as it was supposed to either, although in that case it was past the warranty. My Maytag stacker worked fine until the washer stopped working. I went to PC Richards to get a new Maytag stacker. The salesman wanted the measurements and came to my condo to take the measurements. He ordered a new Maytag stacker, but the installer said it was too big for my hallway. The salesman suggested I look at a smaller GE stacker. I agreed and the next installer said the dryer door would not close. The 3rd delivery of another GE stacker was installed, but the dryer door would not stay open. It closed halfway causing me to hit my head as I took out the laundry from the washing machine. The FIXITY company was instructed to come to my condo to fix the problem. I told him the handle of the dryer needed to be on the other side and the door would stay open all the way. He told me that could not happen and left. Now I have to use a broom against the dryer door to keep it open all the way, so I don't hit my head as I take the laundry out of the washing machine. Rush to empty fridge, take down baby gate etc The delivery crew arrives and after measuring everything 10 times tells me they didnt think the fridge would fit down stairs to remove (its been done twice already and these 2 idiots were the ones that swapped it 6 months ago!) ****SEE UPDATE AT END The washing machine I bought is a stackable because I have very little space. The machine is terrible and the extended warranty has been used 5 times since I bought it. The PC Richard's service is HORRIBLE! They schedule appointments between 9-6 M-F and Sat 9-2 on the phone, but they always have a wait, the person came out said what was wrong then had to order parts. They sent a message parts are in at 6:05pm so you need to wait until the next day to schedule service. Then you have to wait another week for an appointment. So you are now 2 plus weeks without a washing machine, and because it leaked you have to wait to fix the floor until it is fixed. They finally come 2 weeks later with the parts and only one repair person comes, he says he needs 2 people to fix it and I should reschedule because he can't do it alone. I call and wait on hold for 24 minutes and I get told that I have to wait another week before they can send 2 people to fix my machine. So I will be a month without a washing machine, for 3 people!!!! PC Richard's Extended Warranty Service and company Stinks!!!! ****So Update as of JUNE 3rd 2025 The same technician that told me he could not fix my washing machine by himself came yesterday June 2nd,(the second technician DID NOT SHOW UP) after sitting outside for 30 minutes and showing up late.... (for the 4 hour window) Came in my house and was SO RUDE, he was rude the first day when he told me he couldn't do the job alone, he managed to put the parts in the machine that he said he couldn't do alone 5 days earlier.....and made it even WORSE!!!! I said to him it didn't sound right and he said "That is normal noise" I said that "the washer never sounded like that, and the drum is even lower than before" He then said "In Heaven everything will be perfection, that is normal noise....we live on planet earth!" He then left, storming out. My washing machine is HORRIBLE! I am stuck after 3 more phone calls yesterday I tried to call when he left but they are on lunch from 1-2, so I call at 2, 4, and 5 pm. I left a poor review recently about awful customer service and a shoddy Kitchen Aid dishwasher we purchased in October 2024. Four + service calls later, and it is still not working properly. The service tech looked like he could barely move anymore, and his command of the English language left us not confident that he understood the issue. He ordered a part (which was ordered previously and did not solve the problem) and said PC Richard's would notify us when the part was ready to be installed. We've been down this road before with PC Richard's. At what point do they determine this new dishwasher a "lemon" and replace it? My 9-year-old LG TV died a few months ago. I purchased a similar one online from P. C. Richard. The various retailers all had very similar prices. The delivery was on time and very efficient. The men knew exactly how to set up the TV and did so quickly. I arranged for them to remove the old set as it was too large for me to handle. I did have to dispose of the cardboard box.
