I have been a customer for years now, so when my A/C unit suddenly went offline, I reached out to Roberto for help and we scheduled a service for the next day, which was very much appreciated because of the summer heat. My central AC wasn't working properly and right in the middle of an October heatwave. Called a local HVAC company and they weren't available for Saturday calls. Called P.E.HVAC and Roberto offered an appointment on Saturday, mind you i was calling him on Friday. After a slight delay, which Roberto notified me about, he shows up and diagnoses the problem all while I'm standing there watching him work. OK first of all I don't know why there aren't like 100 amazing reviews on here? I first spoke with Robert in early April when I realized that my investment property was in shambles. My former partner Joe Liebowitz who had remodeled my kitchen through his uncles company Abc convinced me he kbew construction. WRONG! He basically walked off the job only doing cosmetics and left the house in shambles with electric half done done poorly plumbing screwed up no AC heat everything was messed up. Gills Did the first half of the electric I'm literally the worst job multiple people have seen including LADBS! It did not pass inspection. They had wires everywhere, nothing was strapped, there were fire hazards n it was incomplete. No panel or subpanel. there was no venting for air-conditioning or heat so carbon monoxide could've come back in the house from the attic and poisoned the new owners if Robert Hadn't vented!! the plumbing was not connected properly essentially nothing was done the way it was supposed to be. It was an absolute nightmare. In addition the wiring was done shoddy so the fire detectors were too close together and not to code! The air-conditioning company had a legally trespassed out of the property and dropped a condenser that needed repair completely on hooked up absolute joke. Another thing I needed Robert to fix so I could pass inspection. I really wanted to build a quality house that was solid and I was determined to get that done. I have worked with Multiple electricians and plumbers since this first happened, and Robert has been the most thorough with videos before and after pictures, very clear estimates. No games a straight shooter and HONEST. He speaks to you in a way that's very clear, and makes sure you understand what is happening and what needs to be done. He Gave me options and choices. I requested a quote to have some repair work done on my moms ancient wall heater. Roberto was efficient in getting back to me in a timely manner. He gave me a quote for the original repair and also gave me an option to repair/refurb my heater so it was more like a new heater and at a reasonable cost. In addition he also found some internal condensate hoses that were chewed up by rodents and replaced them with a factory hose kit he had on hand. So a few months ago, our *good* microwave died randomly. We'd actually had an over-the-range microwave that came with our condo, that we basically never used because it *sucked*, so we just used my wife's standalone microwave, until it broke a few months ago. For various reasons that aren't important, it took a while to find a replacement over-the-range microwave that was compatible with our space, so it finally arrived, just before COVID-19 went from a worry out on the horizon to... not. So now we had a microwave in need of installation, and I told my wife, we really need to get it installed while we still can (this was a couple weeks ago), unless we want to be stuck with a crummy 30-year-old slow-as-all-frack microwave for another month. She did some research, and these guys seemed the best, so we went with them, especially when they said they could be there in 45 minutes(!). It was actually more like an hour minutes, but seriously, I'm not going to complain. (Especially since it sounded like most of the delay was just the guy finding parking downtown - I'd forgotten it'd be even harder with everyone stuck at home.) They weren't the cheapest (they charged $300 for the microwave install - one of the less reputable-looking companies my wife talked to only asked for $200, but they just didn't sound as *competent* as PE HVAC), but we really liked how prompt the guy was, how friendly he was, and especially, how he didn't just do the work silently, he let us know everything he was doing, and why. And given how long the installation took, the price was totally reasonable to get everything done by a clear professional. Nice to finally have a *good* microwave over the range in our unit! We had a leak in the ceiling of our kitchen. When our A/C was on, the dripping would start. Robert discovered that the condensation drainage pipe was not only clogged, the house builders had made holes in the pipe when installing a closet shelf. So the drainage pipe would back up and leak through the holes, and come down the ceiling. Robert replaced the pipe and cleared out the clog. He was very professional and knowledgeable. This review is way overdue! About a month ago, we had some services done by Roberto. My husband and I have never met anyone so passionate about what they do. That's a good thing! We love giving business to small businesses who focus on their service and craft. We called Roberto because we wanted him to check our AC evaporator and condenser to make sure it was working properly. Just the usual maintenance check up. By the way, he had a quick response time. When he came and checked everything out, he told us every single thing we needed to know. For some people, it may seem like a lot of information so it can feel overwhelming at first. But for those who don't understand this field don't be taken back. Roberto is detailed and will explain everything to you. He doesn't try to sell you something that you don't need. He just wants you to be aware of what kind of system you have and how you can get it to be as efficient as possible. At the end of the day, you're the decision maker and you determine what you want to spend. Roberto will not pressure you like some people do. Saying you need this or that. He is totally trustworthy. Roberto ended up doing a 4-point inspection and added refrigerant for a great price. He also changed our filter and ohhh what a big difference. We were using really thick ones and it was restricting the air from going thing. On a another day, Roberto installed an attic fan. He had someone assist him and they both did a nice clean job. Getting an attic fan was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Our master bedroom gets hit with about 10 hours of sunlight so it would always stay warm inside even with the AC on. Now that we installed the attic fan, the room stays super cool. Actually the whole house stays really cool. As a matter of fact, at times it now gets too cold we have to raise the temperature. The irony! All in all, my husband and I are very pleased with the service. We are happy that we now have a contact for AC, electrical, and plumbing. Great service and great price. Super, super happy with these guys. Robert came in earlier today to fix our air conditioning, and we were all blown away by how professional and chill he was. We initially called him over just to repair our thermostat, but it turns out our entire circuit board was fried, along with a ton of other electrical issues. He did not push me to get new units; instead he was able to prolong the life of both units for another summer or two. One unit; he fixed the capacitor and added refrigerant. That has been working great. Wife and I are freezing nicely during this heatwave. A couple weeks later, my other unit was not working. He added refrigerant and while on the job; my thermostat coincidentally died due to a bad motherboard that had years of water damage. P.E. HVAC did a wonderful job replacing my old over-the-range microwave with a newly purchased one. Roberto was very polite in both text correspondence and in person. Their quote wasn't the lowest, but I decided to go with P.E HVAC because unlike other companies, Roberto actually explained that he needed more details in order to make an informed eatimate. This was very important to me, as my building is not new and I don't have a an external duct for the microwave to vent externally. Roberto patiently and professionally explained my options regarding the venting, and even sent pics of a recent installation that was similar. When we were confident enough to schedule, he was able to give me a very quick appointment (same day!). Even better, he removed an extra layer of tile from my backsplash to ensure the microwave was properly installed. This saved me some money, and as I was actually looking at contracting someone else to remove the whole backsplash beforehand to ensure that the installation job could be done properly. This was money well spent and I am very satisfied with the results. We're actually now eyeing some dryer duct work that may need to be done, with P.E. HVAC in mind. read more
