I ordered delivery from your Carlsbad restaurant this evening after several years , and I wanted to share my experience. While I appreciated the addition of white rice to the main course I believe most people may not like this option. It seemed as an effort to conceal your portion sizes. Overall I found the portion sizes to be quite small, especially for the price of $90 for 2 entrees, 1 noodle and 1 measly half portion of lettuce wraps. It was disappointing to realize that this amount of food could only adequately serve two people. I believe serving the rice in a separate dish would not only enhance the presentation but also allow for more generous portions of the main dishes, particularly the spicy Chang's chicken and shrimp. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling unimpressed, and I may reconsider ordering from you again in the near future. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. Very sad to see how PF Chang's has declined. I used to love this place and the food, now it like a low end chain with high end prices. Ordered lettuce wraps and there was a hair in the lettuce, the flavor of the chicken was not as good as it used to be, and the soy/mustard/chili sauce is now premade just gross. Can in on Saturday afternoon after shopping at the outlets across the way. My mom and I wanted to have an early dinner. We don't have any reservations but were able to be seated in less than five minutes. Yolette was are server and she recognized my mom and I from before. She's is great. Very warm and personable. We started off with the signature chicken lettuce wraps and requested extra lettuce. Our appetizer came out quickly, but with barely any lettuce. When Yolette came to check up, she was surprised that we didn't get the extra lettuce as requested. She quickly remedied the situation and a gentleman apologized and noted that the lettuce that we got was very sparse. For the main course we ordered Mongolian beef. It was excellent as usual. The service is excellent, friendly,and professional. The young man who waited on us could not do enough to please us, but there were errors in what we received. I ordered black tea and got a flavored tea instead. My friend ordered orange chicken over fried rice and received white rice soaked in teriyaki sauce. She asked for white rice which they brought, but there was a two dollar extra charge on the check for the white rice which management removed from the check when we indicated it was the restaurant's error. Shawn or Sean (sorry don't know how he spelled his name) was our server. He was incredible! The place was so packed but he managed to keep us informed and made sure we are ok. To be honest I believe he was the same server we had the first time we were there. And he was amazing then and still amazing today! How I wish everyone one takes notes on how he does it. Very customer friendly and so knowledgeable and very fast. My table consists of 7 people and all of them left very impressed by his service and so did I! Tonight was very busy!! People were waiting to be seated for a long time. We booked a reservation a month in advance and we still had to wait for someone to finish their meal. That's how busy they were!!! The place is so festive!! Christmas lights/decorations everywhere. And people enjoying their meal. You hear lots of laughter including our table. The food we ordered were just outstanding!! I made a reservation on Open Table for 7 on Christmas Eve at 4:00. We arrived for our reservation at 4. The restaurant was empty. The manager in charge told us that we did not have a reservation. He said they and open table don't talk which was strange because I've made reservations through open table at this location several times and it worked fine. Anyway he insisted they had nothing for us. He said the restaurant would be packed by 5:30. Well that was an hour an a half. The restaurant was empty. We asked if we could get two tables next to each other he said no he could give us two tables but they'd be far from each other which again makes no sense because the whole place was empty. He was rude and unapologetic. I feel that he could have at least tried. He literally stood there and stared at me when I finally had to ask him if there was anything at all he could do to help us out. I showed him the open table confirmation and he said It makes no difference. I personally own a business and am so tired of poor customer service. We all sit in traffic and spend our precious time and money at these places and they take our money like we owe them something or are bothering them while they're working. We left and went to BJs. Went to PF, which "was" my favorite Restaurant for my Birthday to find out total men change. Trust I been a loyalest to this chain for year been to them across the country for their food quality & menu consistency. My VERY favorite dish the Chilean Sea Bass. Now not on the menu. Although it was $42 We would splurge. No more I guess need to find a new favorite place! Thanks to the server. "Jessica" we had a great time. But I won't be back any time soon now. They did still have the Mongolian Beef, beef seemed to be cut & cooked a little differently but it was good! Martini , good. The interior needs a Refresh as well. I dont understand the high ratings. Im not high Class at all even though, i can be. Im ok, eating a burger, on the sidewalk from a street vender..... Water..... contained a ton of floaties and was dirty.... not just my glass, the entire table.... dude, i could have brought my own bottle water..... My kid inserted his fork from top into it and lifted...... it was like a plate came up.... i told my kid to be happy he has food..... Pad thai w. chicken.... there was no chicken and the dish was over cooked.... like noodles were hard from over cooking, tofu rock hard from over cooking....... they also didnt have any hots, no chili, no sweet chili..... the scallions were 4 to 6 inches long.... what chef does that? you are suppose to cut them up....... what the hell? the salad. it was nothing but iceberg lettuce.... ok house salad sure.... but wheres the carrots? cabbage? what? wheres other ingredients? honestly, for the cost, find a street vender or food truck, your water wont have floaties in it, your food wont be overcooked and im sure it would be more authentic than..... this place.... was this microwaved? is p.f.changs a microwave setup? no cooking? even microwave dishes from healthy choice, from p.f.changs brand comes out better..... do youselves a favor.... find a local, thai or Vietnamese.... place, a place you wouldn't want to enter by looks and im sure the food is 5 star, fresh and proper.......there wont be crap floating in your water because they serve u a bottle..... We had the feast for two and upgraded for dumplings, noodles and Mongolian beef. The food was delicious and tasted fresh. We had enough to bring home left overs for the next day. I was here with my and my sister in laws family on a Sunday. At the reception the first thing the reception girl told me was it fully booked day and there was no seat available for the next 3 hours do to no availability. However, what I saw was that there were almost half of the restaurant empty. So, instead of just giving it up, I came out and connected with Yelp and check online reservation and there we go.... there was 3 seatings available in next 15 minutes and several more after that. I made a reservation 15 minutes after and went in and told the receptionist that I have reservation in 15 minutes. She just told me that was not possible until she check the system. It was either lack of professionalism or she had no idea how to deal with the job. Anyway, that was a little experience. Once I was seated....... totally different experience with the server, he was so well mannered and polite that it totally compensate the earlier experience at the entrance. The food was great, we order several plates and shared. The amount of food is not as plenty here so expect to order a bit more in variety and share. It's been a while since we had been here and have always loved the service, food, portion, and price; however, the most recent experience not very good. We decided to come here cause they do a very good job with allergies and with someone in the family that has celiac disease it's refreshing to go somewhere were you do not have to worry. There are not many chain locations that offer that. First things first, don't put someone at a table that's not clean. One it was not very busy, only about 2 other tables, so explain how you can't keep it clean. I could understand if it was busy but not when there's only 3 tables being served and what I saw about 4 people just wondering around. Second the price of everything was just way too high. I paid $6 for a refresher that was way too sweet and not worth it. Food quality has dropped significantly. Chang's chicken was one of my favorites but the new recipe is sub par. The price for the portion of everything does not reflect either. If the food was excellent the price would seem better but not for how much you get. Only reason I gave a 3 star was because our server was attentive, did the job well, and they have always done well with allergies but the cleanliness and food quality/portions are sub par. read more

Business operating during the pandemic, "thank you" Review #31 things started badly and i had every intention of writing a snarky review. a gaggle of managers was clustered around the hostess station, and we were told it would be a 30-minute wait. I walked around the outside dining area and realized it was less than 20% full but every "empty" table needed to be bussed. apparently, such menial labor falls outside management's purview. the good news is, everything got way better after that. one of the busboys hustled outcollected dirty dishes and wiping things down and we only had to wait 10 minutes. all of your servers (there were three and they all seemed to float from station-to-station) were cheerful and attentive and the food was perfect. love the horses out front are observing property Covid protocols. ps: still a chain featuring CHINESEish AMERICAN food but pretty good eats! read more

My hubby and I decided to celebrate a late valentines day here after doing some shopping at the Outlets across the street & Road Runner's for a shoe fitting. I was able to get on the online waitlist (highly recommended to this part). I walked right up to the podium about 5-10 mins later and was seated immediately. I saw other parties who were there before me still waiting, so not really sure how they prioritize online wait list vs. live waiting. My hubs and I order a little too much: we got the ribs appetizer (for some reason i expected it too be tiny, but they were huge pork ribs). totally underestimated them. Portion size is very generous. The meat itself was heavily seasoned, a little dry, but pretty yum. I also got the string beans (again thought it would be small but it was sizable). too bad they drenched it in sauce, it was too corn starchy. We also got Singapore street noodles (it had shrimp and chicken) which was a lot more sour than I thought it would be. Lots of cherry tomatoes in it, which was a surprise to me, but I haven't been to Singapore before so not sure what really counts as street noodles. Don't recommend this one. Service was amazing - I'll give you that. The staff seemed to work tirelessly to get to everyone. He was BUSY. We also ordered the super great wall of chocolate which was the most decadent cake ever. We had so many leftovers and I had to spread the cake over the next 3 days. I was happy to give PF's another chance as I haven't had them in years. TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY... 2016 - 5 Stars 2022 (June) - 3 Stars 2022 (August) - 4 Stars When management reaches out to Yelpers and actually addresses concerns with staff, it shows they want to do better. Tonight, a buddy and I ventured in, just 45 days after my last review, sat at the bar with Chelsea (bartender of some 7 years), and couldn't have expected better service. I now remember why sitting at the bar is so much more enjoyable than being seated at a table. Whenever possible, the bar is where I'll dine. My Pad Thai was excellent, and Chelsea's recommendations were spot on. She knows this restaurant, she knows the food, she knows the cooks, and she knows how to satisfy customers looking for guidance... especially those wanting vegan options. I did NOT have such support 45 days ago. I've always been a fan of this chain, and the Carlsbad location is great for locals and Outlet shoppers/I-5 traffic. I noticed some "issues" in June, but they may have been corrected... or Chelsea is just THAT amazing. I'll pop in again soon and hope for the best. Who knows... maybe that 5-star rating will return.
