PF Chang's locations can be a hit-or-miss experience. This location in Carlsbad is always on point! It's been over a year since I was in last for meal. As a matter of fact the last time I had food from here, it was take-away on Mother's Day last year, 2020 (they were only doing take-out because of Covid19) . So it was amazing to be able to sit in their dining room and eat lunch today. My daughter and ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, tempura calamari & veggies, spicy stir fried eggplant, and fried rice. Everything was perfect! George, our server, was fast, friendly, and super-efficient! He was a total star! My daughter and I had such a great experience, that we can't wait to head back to PFC's for another lunch. read more

Came for happy hour/ dinner tonight. There's something warmly familiar about dining here after traveling out of the country for a month. Gracious hospitality by Layla, our server Claudia, and others! We had the green beans, shrimp dim sum, honey shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and beef with broccoli. The 5 stars is mainly for service. PF Chang's food is consistent, and if you've been, you know what you're getting. It's not authentic or the BEST in its category, but quality is reliable, and they keep expanding their menu. Four of us had dinner here 2 nights ago and were really impressed by our server Madison. I think everyone can agree, service overall has gone downhill most places since 2020 for lots of reasons, not always the fault of the servers or businesses. I don't expect anything above mediocre anymore, so Madison really stood out. We really didn't have to ask for anything. She was like a mind-reader, getting our drinks topped up and scooping up finished plates so efficiently. We are used to having to ask for clean plates after appetizers, and she just automatically brought them before our entrees came out. She somehow managed to check in on us frequently without ever interrupting. Thank you, Madison, for reminding me that service can be stellar, even in 2023! read more

I'll try to be short and sweet on this one: Food: lettuce wraps (vegan) were delicious Buddha vegan if asked without sauce. It was good but I def had to soak it up with soy sauce and chili paste. I ordered it with white rice. Mom ordered the short rib on top of pineapple fried rice which was a sweet/savory dish and delicious. Also ordered the sparkling sake which has always been my favorite. The server took time to work with me on vegan options. They have a few vegetarian ones that could potentially be modified to vegan, but I'm hoping P.F. Chang's can take it a step further and add legit vegan options without sacrificing flavor. Manager came over to the table to confirm that the veggie lettuce wraps were vegan. Our server was super nice super patience and attentive. He also packed up our left overs and wrote the item and date which I haven't seen before and greatly appreciate lol. Many years ago, this place was the go to spot for quality Asian fusion fare. Pei Wei was its fast casual cousin, which was also really good but their quality went downhill and eventually it went out of business (at least in Encinitas). If things don't improve, PF Changs will follow suit. The quality of their food matches that of Panda Express now, so the higher price point no longer makes sense. I'm willing to pay higher cost for higher quality but that's not what I received today. Luke warm and soggy (not pan fried) pork dumplings, not at all spicy "spicy chicken", egg drop soup was just broth with a couple specks of green onion, crab wonton was ok but it's $2 per wonton. Spent $60 on the "meal for two" to go (picked it up, not delivered) and it came with only 1 fortune cookie and 1 single packet of soy sauce. Panda Express and China Fusion are equal quality and a better value. read more

I think we all have it about right. 3 stars. Although the food tonight was better than usual, pork pan fried dumplings were very good, ribs great value and tasty, but $17 for a nice glass of wine. Nope. The basic entrees are good not great, and the new menu is like "who are we?" Why not add meatloaf to please everyone? But my biggest peeve tonight was the servers who talked endlessly about their social life 5 feet away. Either tell them to chat in the back or move tables farther away. Unfortunately they changed the menu and the waitress didn't think of letting me know they fry the tofu and no longer steam it. My buddah feast entree turned out not having a protein item due to this. The other waiter said he would ask if he could bring me a side of steamed tofu. When our main waitress came back I let her know I was hoping to get a side of steamed tofu but she said they no longer do that. Oh well so much for this new menu that shows an increase in prices for less choices. read more

Web had to ask him to slow the service down a bit, that was a mistake. We then had to ask for our soups, ask for our entrees, ask for our bill. We signed up for the PF Changs cash club, also a mistake. Took over 30 minutes to get the bill correct. Food was okay. Everything is mostly fried and breaded with a slimy sauce. This place has gone down hill. Today's Lo Mein jus tasted like soy sauce and the Ma Po Tofu has changed. Now the tofu chunks are smaller and heavily coated with batter. They stick together and have a gooey texture and glue taste. The sauce seems to have changed as well. If you want to raise prices, at least keep your quality standards. read more

PF Changs has always been a great restaurant, where the food and waitstaff are outstanding. Unfortunately, my sister's experience at this specific location was less than ideal. She order was for curbside pickup. Not only was her food not delivered curbside, she had to contend with a hostess that was inattentive and dismissive. The hostess was chatting with other waitstaff as my sister stood at the podium, waiting for her attention. It took the hostess about five minutes before she bothered to walk to my sister. When asked if her order was curbside or takeout, my sister replied curbside. All the hostess did then was to ping to the end of the bar for my sister to pickup her order. What the heck? I think this location needs some retraining of employees. Epic fail. read more

You already know the food here isn't "authentic," it is after all a chain restaurant that sells a dessert called "The Great Wall of Chocolate." Anyone expecting anything even close to OMG SO 100% AUTHENTIC lacks key critical thinking skills and shouldn't be allowed to review any food until they get right. Anyway, I usually come here either to eat with my boss or get take out. If you like to save money, then download their app and get on their email list. Each week they usually send great offers like a free meal when you buy one, or free appetizer when you buy an entree. Usually you can use these coupons for take out! Last week I was able to get a free full order of dynamite shrimp, just by ordering an entree. I really like their dynamite shrimp! Fried shrimp drenched in a calorie filled sauce is just what my tummy wants when my day has been rough! It is a bit too salty when you gobble it down in your car ... not that I did that...no sir! So, it saved me $12 or so... My usual entree is the eggplant with extra sauce. I get extra sauce because it makes it reheat better. After all, after scarfing down a whole app, I usually am stuffed! It is a solid if not safe dish. A savory sauce with a large amount of eggplant. Lots of garlic! I like to add hot sauce to it. This dish is about $12 as well. Take out is usually right on time and it's all pretty standard from there. If you see a woman eating dynamite shrimp in the parking lot, come over and say hello! read more

We eat here regularly for lunch. Usually the service is great, the food is how we order it. Today we were greeted by a nice and friendly server who took our order. The ribs we started with were the usual yummy. However, when our main course came, some of what we ordered was nice and hot, some of it barely warm. It took quite a while to bring this to their attention. Our server was no where to be seen. Eventually I got up and asked the hostess to call a manager who was unsympathetic to the issue and removed the food that was warm not hot saying that we will receive a replacement. There was absolutely no apology for the inconvenience. When the replacement food arrived, it was a lunch bowl portion over fried rice (not the regular portion we had ordered) We pointed this out, our server said this would be reflected in the check which we said was ok as we didn't want to have to wait even longer for more food. When the check did arrive, an extra $2.00 surcharge was added for the fried rice over the lunch portion (which we didn't order) as we had already ordered the full sized regular portion of fried rice. Our server didn't seem happy with us pointing it out, as she was busy with other diners and her manager didn't appear to have a great attitude towards service. We were planning on going back there for Valentine's Day next week, but now we won't be doing that. read more

Food is always good here. Today I put in a pickup order an hour early. When i got there they said it wasn't ready. From that point on it took another 20 minutes to have my order ready, with no acknowledgement or explanation. Then when it finally came out all of the soups were missing. I had to send them back in to finish the order that now had taken 1.5 hours to prepare.... The girl that helped us was really nice, I just think a manager or someone would step in a address the situation. I will likely not try this order or restaurant again. I once gave a scathing review for P.F. Chang's in Chula Vista after I got a raging case of food poisoning. I stand by that review. So you can imagine my surprise when I nervously decided to check out this location 10 years later and ended up loving my food and overall experience. Our server Whitney was fantastic! She was warm, welcoming and made some recommendations. I know people complain about P.F. Chang's not being "authentic Chinese food" but I thoroughly enjoyed my food that day. What we ordered: -Honey Shrimp with honeydew: I'm not sure how I felt about the honeydew but the perfectly cooked shrimp and glazed walnuts complimented each other well. A classic dish that always makes my stomach happy. -Chicken Fried Rice: just your standard chicken fried rice but it was tasty and filling. Parking is okay but can get hairy on the weekends due to the Carlsbad Outlet Mall being located across the street. Ambience modern and inviting and service outstanding. There were breaded bites like in Sweet and Sour Chicken, and savory satin-ized bites like in soups, and chewy bits that could be pork. Absolutely disgusting mess and inauthentic flavor. Unreal. We are dumbfounded at the quality, service and standard of dining service we received at PF Changs. EVERYTHING about our dining experience was top of the line. Our server, Andrew, was polite, cordial, witty, receptive and anticipated our every need without seeming pushy. The food... We don't even know where to begin. The duck was unlike anything we've ever tasted. The environment, fun and inviting but peaceful. The manager even stopped by to check on us which made it feel all the more personable and considerate. This is probably one of my Fav restaurants and I am so thankful they are open again for indoor dining. I came here with my two girlfriends and had lunch. Menu seems to have changed a bit. My 2 friends had Broccoli Beef which they said was yummy and the Beef was very tender. I had the Kung Pao chicken and I have never had it where the Chicken is breaded and tastes like its deep fried. I also did not realize it would be served in a "bowl" over the top of my rice. The waitress was super sweet. read more
