I hadn't been to P.F. Chang's in years, but my family and I stopped in while waiting for our severely delayed flight to Houston. I ordered the egg drop soup, and the moment it arrived, it already looked off. One taste confirmed it -- it genuinely tasted like salt water. I'm not someone who ever sends food back or asks for a replacement, but this time I had to. What disappointed me even more was the service that followed. Our server had been great up until I politely mentioned that I didn't like the soup and asked if I could swap it for something else. Her attitude shifted instantly -- she rolled her eyes and asked, "Well, what do you want instead?" It felt unnecessarily rude and definitely not something I appreciated. I also tried some of the dishes my family ordered, like the Kung Pao Chicken and Orange Chicken, and unfortunately, none of them were good. My cousin even said the rice tasted like chlorine. The crab rangoons I received as a replacement were just okay -- edible, but still very subpar. I remember the P.F. As good as it gets for airport Kung pow chicken. The bar staff are super friendly. Ample seating in and around the bar. The location is ideal in the middle of terminal A making it easy to get to and from gates there and also if you're headed to the B terminal. read more

The overall experience was typical American Chain Chinese Resturant's. The decor was respectable but it's run like a Denny's. I ordered pan fried dumplings, the dumplings were only fried on the bottom and the sides were soft and appeared to be steamed prior. But overall not bad flavor. Then comes the main course, Mongolian beef with green onions, those were very good and delicious I would taste a lot better with if added more chili pepper to spice things up. Note to self: I know you can't pass up Crab Rangoon... but pass it up here... it's horrible (and you left 4 of 6 in your last visit). Cocktails are minimal but good. By that I mean the selection sucks but it's better than the Sky Club. If you are hungry opt for a meat source and some rice or noodles... they do those well. If you are not hungry either skip or get a cocktail and move on. Also, next time plan your travel better and don't miss your connection and be stuck in this airport for 6 hours. read more

I am a big fan of PF Chang's I love their chicken lettuce wraps and I think they make the best......I had a craving for them but this last time I went to this DTW restaurant, I got there before 10:00am, so they only had their breakfast menu....which included a burrito dish, a hash dish, an egg dish and a fried rice....well, I opted for the fried rice. The order took a bit, so I waited in the bar lounge area. The lady who brought the order to me was friendly. The size of the order was on the small side, but I enjoyed the dish it was really tasty.......it had chicken, egg, carrots, bean sprouts, scallions and a nice spicy sauce. Ordered food to go on my most recent visit to Detroit's airport and got the Spicy Chicken plate with brown rice. Service took a while (15 minutes about) and got something that didn't taste any better than Panda Express quality I don't think the price was justified. The sauce itself was more sweet than spicy and had more breading than chicken. I wasn't able to finish the meal because the sweetness/sourness was overwhelming. It was conveniently located between my arrival to the next departure gate. PF Chang was ok. I went few times in Buffalo. So I figured why not on Detroit airport. I want something quick and I 'know' so egg drop soup and chicken wrap it is. I was going to get wonton alas it has shrimp and allergic to it. I don't care much about the soup sadly. Honestly, especially considering this is a chain and inside of an airport I think they did a great job. I kind of tend to lower the bar a bit for airport spots as I think it's likely a lot harder to maintain the same level of ambiance and quality control as you are if it's in a different spot. I will say, though, despite the slew of travellers and suitcases it was a really pleasant dining experience. It had been years since I'd been to a PF Chang's location, but we had a sizeable layover in Detroit and a spot to sit down and enjoy a meal seemed like a great idea. My sister and I shared the brussels sprouts appetizer and the sesame chicken and both agreed that the brussels sprouts were the showstopper here. We liked the chicken but it wasn't anything remarkable. Overall, it made me realize that when travelling PF Chang's is not a bad choice at all and if I ever see one in an airport again I'm likely to stop in for those brussels sprouts alone. read more

This place is great! When you walk in, you completely forget that you are still in an airport. All of the rich dark wood and furniture give the intimate ambiance P F Chang's is legendary for. I was greeted warmly and seated right away, was able to order less than 10 minutes after seating, and my food/cocktail came out promptly - and piping hot and fresh. I will say the food has a hint of spice/kick, but nothing overpowering. All of the staff was kind, friendly, and attentive. If you're in the Detroit airport, I highly recommend stopping by. One shouldn't expect too much from a chain restaurant at an airport, but we had a pleasant surprise. Wonderful service. I rushed and uncrowded. We started with a huge bowl of hot & sour soup to share. The soup was served warm, not hot, and with a better serving temperature, it would have been very good. Lots of tofu ( not my favorite) along with the traditional ingredients. The lettuce wraps, a signature fish, was spot on. Great seasoning. More than a fair portion. And the same for pepper steak. I have nothing against P.F. Chang's in general, but my experience with one of the bartenders at this location was extremely disappointing. She was consistently rude to me for no apparent reason--never acknowledged my requests for a refill or the check, and simply tossed items in front of me without a word. In contrast, she was friendly and attentive to other customers, checking in on them and making sure the were okay, but remained completely silent/cold toward me the entire time. I came to P.F. Chang's for a quick bite to eat. The service here was fast, and my server was very prompt with getting my order placed. Unfortunately, my food tasted awful. I ordered the Pepper Steak. However, they really should've called it the Salty Steak, because it was EXTREMELY salty. I could only palate the steak with rice, and afterwards, I was thirsty for the rest of the evening and night. So glad to see reasonably priced good food at the Detroit Metro Airport. The restaurant has bar seating and tables facing out into the concourse. Perfect for people watching.
