Made my own combo dish, Mongolian beef topped with shrimp dumplings.
    Liem N.

1st of all, I understand it's a bit pricey to eat at the airport but I didn't feel like anything else while waiting for my flight. The overall experience was typical American Chain Chinese Resturant's. The decor was respectable but it's run like a Denny's. I ordered pan fried dumplings, the dumplings were only fried on the bottom and the sides were soft and appeared to be steamed prior. But overall not bad flavor. Then comes the main course, Mongolian beef with green onions, those were very good and delicious I would taste a lot better with if added more chili pepper to spice things up. The finale was the oversized plain cheese cake slice with a raspberry drizzle. It was alright, PF Chang should serve Chinese desert not cheesecakes...

Had a long layover at Detroit Airport so I stopped by PF Chang's, Used my $48 Delta Voucher's got the Mongolian beef, pork spare ribs, and wontons soup. Food came out fast and hit the spot before my flight Definitely be back !

The lettuce wraps are different, or maybe just at the airport? I liked the previous recipe better. The sauce on the side isn't necessary. The portion is small. The Mongolian tofu didn't have sauce and it needs it. I liked the crispiness of the tofu but too dry. Wasn't asked what type of rice I wanted. No refill on my water.

I am a big fan of PF Chang's I love their chicken lettuce wraps and I think they make the best......I had a craving for them but this last time I went to this DTW restaurant, I got there before 10:00am, so they only had their breakfast menu....which included a burrito dish, a hash dish, an egg dish and a fried rice....well, I opted for the fried rice. The order took a bit, so I waited in the bar lounge area. The lady who brought the order to me was friendly. The size of the order was on the small side, but I enjoyed the dish it was really tasty.......it had chicken, egg, carrots, bean sprouts, scallions and a nice spicy sauce. Overall a reliable place to get a meal at DTW.

Came for lunch at Gate 38 at DTW. Restaurant was boarded up with no notice anywhere in sight.

I stopped in here because I had quite a bit of time before my flight and was getting hungry for a late lunch. I ordered a glass of rosé and the honey shrimp with white rice. The flavor was very sweet and quite good. The white rice was okay, but did the trick for the full meal. Advice was absolutely excellent with Andy as the bartender. He was extremely attentive and quick. He made the experience 5 stars.

This is my go to when traveling through DTW. The chicken lo mein is amazing, the portions are large, the atmosphere is relaxing and my server (Samm K) was fantastic.

You know that PF Chang's at your local mall? This is just like that except in an airport with a limited menu. What I love is that everyone here understands the assignment. Food is tasty, served quickly and the staff is super friendly. Everything you need from an airport restaurant

Ordered food to go on my most recent visit to Detroit's airport and got the Spicy Chicken plate with brown rice. Service took a while (15 minutes about) and got something that didn't taste any better than Panda Express quality I don't think the price was justified. The sauce itself was more sweet than spicy and had more breading than chicken. I wasn't able to finish the meal because the sweetness/sourness was overwhelming. I think it would have benefited from a veggie on the side. Probably won't order from here again.

Another work trip that mean another airport lunch! I kind of not in the mood on looking around so I decided to go to PF Chang. It was conveniently located between my arrival to the next departure gate. PF Chang was ok. I went few times in Buffalo. So I figured why not on Detroit airport. I want something quick and I 'know' so egg drop soup and chicken wrap it is. I was going to get wonton alas it has shrimp and allergic to it. I don't care much about the soup sadly. Just taste a but off. But the wrap taste quite good. Just like I remembered. I must be hungry as I ate it all. But no I don't eat all the soup. Maybe that's why I can eat all the wrap.

Honestly, especially considering this is a chain and inside of an airport I think they did a great job. I kind of tend to lower the bar a bit for airport spots as I think it's likely a lot harder to maintain the same level of ambiance and quality control as you are if it's in a different spot. I will say, though, despite the slew of travellers and suitcases it was a really pleasant dining experience. It had been years since I'd been to a PF Chang's location, but we had a sizeable layover in Detroit and a spot to sit down and enjoy a meal seemed like a great idea. My sister and I shared the brussels sprouts appetizer and the sesame chicken and both agreed that the brussels sprouts were the showstopper here. We liked the chicken but it wasn't anything remarkable. Overall, it made me realize that when travelling PF Chang's is not a bad choice at all and if I ever see one in an airport again I'm likely to stop in for those brussels sprouts alone.

Service was super nice and helpful. My food came out a little cold so she sent it back in. It came out a little better the next time. Bar was pretty slow but they were busy (first NFL Sunday). All in all okay but if I went back I'd stick with apps.

I ate here a while back. I ordered some kind of refresher I believe. It had honeydew in it. I just remember it was the best non alcoholic beverage I have ever tried. Does anyone know what it is called? I couldn't find it on the website menu.

    Strawberry cucumber limeade?

How you gunna be able to make a coconut mojito, but not an Asian pear?

Because we do not have the ingredients that go into the Asian pear mojito

Regarding Detroit's Shangri-La Chinese Restaurant:…read more I've eaten at this location for years. In fact, I've eaten at previous restaurants at that location even prior to Shangri-La opening there. The food at Shangri-La simply checks the Chinese Food box when I have a taste for it. Today, I decided to have a work lunch there, and sat with my laptop for a while, even after I was finished eating. The service was excellent (in comparison to my usual experience), and so my plan was to take good care of the waitress. I had never seen her before, and assumed her to be new staff. She returned to my table to check in with me at least three times. When waitress brought the bill, the amount seemed to be off. I studied the handwritten bill further, and realized there was a 20% tip added to my bill. This was a quandary for me because the $7 and something gratuity was less than I intended to leave her, but I was incensed with the idea that it had been added without my consent. I explained my concern to her, and she pointed to the desk where the manager (or owner) typically stands and stated that this was the restaurant's policy. Moments later, he arrived at my table and explained that, "some people come and they don't tip." His arrogant tone was odd to me because this person has seen me at least once every several months for years. I explained to him that this plan of his is a bad idea, but he didn't appear to care about my position. He mentioned that the policy is printed on the menu, however I ordered without looking at the menu. But, what was most disgusting was his response, "if you can't afford to pay a tip, you shouldn't come out to eat." His facial expression and body language exhibited years of old racial animosity and anxiety. I should mention, just prior to my leaving, a Black couple left the restaurant after disputing an issue with the same manager/owner. The subject of the dispute was not clear, but I did hear the gentleman explaining that he had been eating at this location, "for years," and didn't like how something "was handled." Finally, I come here to Yelp and survey the comments before writing my own, and here is another Black customer, from Los Angeles, protesting the manager/owner, "following her out to her car over a tip." So, there's the secondary issue on this policy. Not only are there folks who might not be able to afford a tip at any given time, but there is the right of customers to determine what their tip should be based upon the service they perceive the server provided. In my case, I tipped the waitress above and added gratuity. I needed for her to be clear that my concern had nothing to do with her. But, the manager/owner person left a horrible taste in my mouth - so much so that I threw my unhealthy leftovers in the garbage. Never again. This man's (unintelligent and likely racist) assumption that I could not "afford to tip" will be his last opportunity to be in conversation with me. I won't be back.
