Not surprised that this location is empty on a Saturday during lunch, and while they're empty, still sat us in the bar area right next to the restroom. Order took a while to come. Made us wait for one of our dishes that never came. Never gave us warning that it wasn't available. Only found out when she dropped the bill on our table and walked away. Food was ok. My mother always taught me, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. But after yesterday's experience, I feel compelled to share. A party of three, all using a walking cane, were led to a table in the bar. Tight booths 6-8 inches above the floor. This is where I blame myself for not saying this is unacceptable and that we wish to sit at a table in the dining room that's on level ground. After squeezing in we realize that this table consisted of two wine glasses and an empty soy sauce container. After the server/bartender took our drink order for water, service slowed down. We were handed three beautifully designed laminated menus and after looking it over, I asked about their advertised special; a three course meal for $20 each. After looking a little perplexed, she left went into the main dining room and returned with one brand new laminated menu describing the three course meal special. We three disabled seniors ordered two hot and sour soups, and one egg drop. For the main course, I ordered beef lo mein, and my wife and her friend ordered a spicy shrimp meal. The soup arrived in a reasonable amount of time, about 10 minutes. But after my wife and her friend tasted their soup, they said, no thanks. Being an old retired military Vet. I decided to just doctor up the soup. Every combat, Vet knows how to do this. No, it wasn't Tabasco sauce. I informed the server that the soy sauce was an empty container. And it would be nice to have some silverware for the meal. Getting back to the egg drop and Hot and sour soups. They complained that they were watered down so much that they had no flavor, but to the chef's defense, there was plenty of stock, but a far cry from Pf Chang, of not too long ago. So now my little princess and her friend asked to replace their bland watered down soup with a salad. Which consisted of lettuce only with some dressing, about the size of a child dish. It took 15 minutes for the "small" salad, which looked like a pregnant teacup. The main course was brought to us 15 minutes later. it was at this time that it dawned on me that the server was inexperienced at being a server other than liquor. The restaurant was half empty and the speed of the service was slow for that condition. I may be wrong, but my family has been involved in the restaurant business for over thirty years. My son is a restaurant Manager here in Louisville. This is strictly my opinion, but if management was having her fill-in for an absent server, only temporarily, it was obvious, but if she did hold both positions, pf Chang is in need of new management. My beef lo mein, after being doctored up, was quite good. But again, my wife and her friend thought that their tiny shrimp, about the size of a nickel, in shape and size, was not very appealing. In the past, shrimp described the food more than its size. After ordering an extra egg roll, the bill climbed another $20. So between the taste of the food and the slow service, I could not give Pf Chang more than one star. When I went to pay my bill, I presented an expired Pf Chang gift card that my son had bought for me. They refused to take it because it expired two months ago. I could probably name 10 restaurants here in Louisville that would remind me that it was expired but still accept it because it's a wise business decision. After all, they were paid the $20 awhile ago. Maybe in this instance, they didn't care, sensing that we probably wouldn't return anyway. Several things needs improvement. They need new management, a bit more supervision in the kitchen, and a lot more training to take "an order taker" into an exceptional server. I wish every server the best and hope they are well compensated for their hard work, especially when they go out of the way to make a customer feel special. read more

P. F. Chang's has been around for years, but this is the first time my wife and I have visited. Overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant was beautiful when we came in and we were able to be seated immediately. We had a reservation, so that might have affected how quickly we were seated. Our waitress was Courtney and she was awesome. We started by ordering drinks and the drink my wife ordered required grapefruit juice. Courtney came back and let us know that the bar only had red grapefruit juice and the drink usually uses regular juice. We really appreciated her coming and checking in, because my wife was able to order a different drink instead. If she had brought the drink with the red grapefruit juice, my wife would have drank it, but not enjoyed it as much. I found the prices to be reasonable and the food quality to be very good. I had sushi and Mongolian beef with rice. Both were really good. I'm always a little nervous, ordering sushi at a place that doesn't super specialize in it. However, this was really good sushi. Their sushi selection is limited, but the dragon roll I had was awesome. We will definitely come back and try some other dishes. It's hard to be unhappy when you have great service and good food that doesn't break the bank. read more

I would have rated this visit and experience as a 2-star but since the GM, Corey, tried to salvage the experience, I gave this visit a 3-star. My husband didn't like his soup so he sent it back for a house salad instead. 25 minutes later, still no salad. We had to ask for it. Fried rice came out cold. Veggie Spring Rolls did not taste like what we expected. Not good. Server was nowhere to be found so my husband walked the cold fried rice back to the kitchen himself. We visited this location last December but were not impressed by the food. A year later we thought to give it another chance....but were left disappointed again!! The customer service and ambiance are both great at this location but the food, not so much. We waited really long for our food and when we did receive our food, it was lacking flavor and was extremely salty. We ordered lunch specials - sesame chicken with lo main and spicy chicken with fried rice. We asked for the food to be spicy but it didn't have spice either. this place is going downhill. we ordered the squash dumplings. the sauce was cold not only the first time but two more times in a row. they tried to tell me if the sauce is hot it will separate which makes no sense. the hot and sour soup is never hot enough. I have to send it back to always get heated. who wants lukewarm soup? the salt and pepper prawns were tasty. everytime we order the lettuce wraps they give us the chicken even though we ordered the tofu. they gave us those on the house. the lomein tasted sweet vs. the garlic and butter flavor we requested. the manager was great! she fixed all the deficiencies. my worst complaint was how slow the service was. we only saw our waiter once every 25 minutes. later she told me she was taking care of a big party in the back. so, because of the super slow service it almost took 3 hours to get out of there. don't plan on returning for a long time. my son did like his wonton soup. read more

We ordered pan fried dumplings and they came steamed, we never got our lo mein in time to eat it with our main meal and she forgot (despite reassuring twice) my husband's to go drink. (Which would only have been his first refill) So we won't be going back for another 5 years I imagine. Also, the server should have taken the lo mein off of our bill. The server spilt wine while pouring the small carafe in the wine glass and didn't even offer to replace it. The food took forever to come out. When it finally did, the server didn't know where the food went and there were 2 dishes forgotten. The server dropped a Knife and fork on the floor and walked over it multiple times along with other employees. It was still on the floor when we left. The server left unused dishes on the table which was cramped to begin with. I had to stack 5 small plates under my salad bowl to give us room on the table. The soup was disgusting. The rice was bland. We ordered a lettuce wrap appetizer and I bit into something that felt like and sounded like an egg shell. I had to spit my food out. Went there to "change it up" and always remembered the portions being larger to justify their $16.99-17.99 meals. Wife said hers needed sauce and was over cooked. Our egg rolls were burnt to a crisp. Our family has enjoyed the food and service at P.F Chang's for several years. We had made reservations last night to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was slightly busy, and not many tables were filled. It took, maybe, 30 mins to receive appetizers. We've never sent food back anywhere, but the two orders of California rolls were foul tasting. The sushi rice resembled mush more than rice in both appearance and mouthfeel, while the fish was acidic and left a very bad taste in one's mouth. The manager came by, apologized, and said she'd have the sushi rice redone, which she said would take about 15-20 mins. Ultimately, the busboy seemed to be the hardest working employee there, but there were no dishes almost anywhere to be seen- nobody else had been served either. When our main course got to us after almost an hour of waiting, it was barely warm. We finished our food before we got the sushi, and were no longer hungry by that point. The desserts and fried rice were divine, though. Almost all the food was a bit off. I gave them two stars because the server and the manager did the best that they could do. read more

American Chinese food is basically to deep-fry the protein (beef, shrimp, tofu, etc.) first, and then wrap it in sauce and stir-fry it. My favorite on the menu is Chang's lettuce wrap, which I must order every time I go. It is fried chicken with Chang family sercet sauce and then wrapped in lettuce leaves. It is very fragrant. In addition, Kung Pao shrimp and fish-flavored eggplant are also what we often order. read more

My friend and I had lunch at P F Changs on Shelbyville Rd. today. When entering the restaurant was dark and cold. The hostess told us the restaurant was cold. We said OK and proceeded to seat us. We placed our orders and my friend ordered the Miso salmon with only white rice - nothing green on it. The first time they brought it out it was missing the salmon. The next time they brought it with broccoli and mushrooms. She told them no vegetables. Then the waitress brought it out and quizzed her on why she didn't want the vegtables - allergy or what. So then it was taken back again and replated and of course it was cold by then. We paid our bill and left. My feet were frozen. And my friend called and said she was feeling sick I guess from cold salmon. Very bad experience. read more

P.F. Chang's is a higher end Asian wok establishment that has had a long time presence in the Lousiville Kentucky area. Located off Shelbyville road in the east end of Lousiville the two large horse statues out front has become Synonymous with the actual restaurant. I had previously dined at P.F. Chang's around 13 years ago and had a fond memory. Not sure why it took so long for us to return but me and my wife along with our two youngest girls finally made a return trip last week. As I remembered in the past this place had beautiful decor and a high class vibe to it. We came here in a weekday right at opening so we were the only people here. We started off with an appetizer of Tempura Calamari. We also placed a sushi order, but they said they didn't have enough rice to make sushi rolls at that moment. Kinda strange but never the less the calamari was pretty solid . Kinda chewy and the breading wasn't that crisp. I'd venture to say the breading was slightly undercooked. But it was decent. For my entree I decided to go with the orange chicken. 13 years ago I remember getting the chicken lo Mein and liking it a lot. I should of stuck with that. This orange chicken was not good. Very mushy texture to the point where I compared it too soggy cereal that sat in milk too long. The orange was predominant. It legit tasted like an orange. I could barely make out any chicken taste. And with the mushy texture kinda making my stomach upset. I couldn't do it. I ate two pieces and called it a day. I took it home To my 13 year old who eats everything. And she took one bite and just said "nope". My wife got the Chang 's Spicy Chicken and she said it was pretty solid. Had nice Flavor she said. I tried one and while Admittedly spicy chicken isn't my personal preference it was significantly better then the orange chicken. It also wasn't mushy old cereal texture either. Overall the return visit failed to impress. I held this place in high regard for years. But it was disappointing they couldn't offer sushi despite having a full menu of selections, the breading on the calamari seemed under cooked and the orange chicken meal became only the 2nd meal in my adult life that I can remember I refused to eat after ordering. read more

Ordered a take out on Friday, Dec 5, at Louisville location.. I got home and discovered that my order was incorrect. I call the restaurant and talked to Chasity (asst mgr i believe) She said that they were in their dinner hour and that they were extremely busy. Took my name and phone number and said she would call me back that night and get my address to send me a gift card for their mistake. She never called back. i called the next day, they took my message, and said Chasity would call me back, she never did. Called Sunday, left yet another message, still no returned phone call. Went back to restaurant, on Monday, no manager would talk to me. Their service to resolve customer complaints was terrible, and Chasity should be demoted to a position she might be able to master.... read more

Normally I wouldn't review a chain restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised by P.F. Chang's when I recently came for a birthday dinner. Their selection of vegetarian options seems to have grown significantly since the last time I came in and the stir fried eggplant was delicious with white rice. I also had a coconut mojito which was also very good. I still find the prices to be a bit high for what you're getting, but the service was good for a large group of people. We sat ~8 people with a reservation and had no complaints, everyone enjoyed the experience and it was not too busy or too loud.
