I loved eating at PF Chang's in Arizona and frequently ate there. I've been living here in the Charleston area for 4 years and this was my first visit to this restaurant. Utterly disappointed, the dumplings were cold and chewy, the Mongolian beef was good yet cold also. Overall I was very disappointed. The Chef needs to put a little more emphasis on quality and temperature. Server was new yet alright. Didn't have Bloody Mary mix and no Worcestershire sauce to make from scratch. We have been regulars st PF Chang's. One of my favorites has been their pad thai. I ordered it tonight and they seem to have changed the recipe. I ordered the chicken pad thai. There was some chicken in it but the biggest addition was a large number of fried tofu chunks. In addition, the dish overall had no flavor. I heard they had changed some of their executives ( not confirmed). They seem to be promoting their business aggressively with coupons, which is fine, but if the food isn't good, people will stop coming. Very disappointing. The quality of food here is exactly how I remembered it. I have not been to a PFChangs in over 10 years but decided to go here Saturday evening. We were initially put on a wait list even though the restaurant appeared to be at 30% capacity, I am guessing that's a result of staffing. After seated our waiter was very engaged and on top of things. He was very good with our little grumpy-hungry toddler and that was appreciated. We ordered the wontons to start which were soggy and iffy on the flavor, wouldn't order that again. The kids had chicken Lo mein which had a strong burnt taste to it. The change spicy chicken was very good as was the crispy honey chicken. I also attempted to order the house beer but they were out so I opted for the Japanese old fashioned but it wasn't made per the description, specifically the smoke aromatics. Also, the manager needs to get ahold of the cleanliness factor. We had reservations for 7 PM. When we arrived, the hostess said even though we had reservations, she would have to put us on a list and we would have to wait 30 minutes. We asked to see the manager. After waiting 15 minutes, he never showed and we asked again. 5 minutes later he said let me take you to be seated. We followed him to the kitchen and stopped. A few minutes later he came out the kitchen,, we said were we supposed to be seated, he said yes and took us back up front to be seated. A kind waiter took our drink orders and food order. They brought out the appetizer. After watching the restaurant slowly become empty and inquiring several times with our waiter for our meal, we decided to cancel the order and pay the bill. The manager came out and said he understood. However, no apology, no compensation for the ice teas just brought us our receipt. This level of customer service is unacceptable. PF Chang do better and be better. The waiter indicated the kitchen was backed up with online orders. Perhaps a system for handling online and in house orders simultaneously is needed. Everything about our experience was terrible. It took at least 10 to 15 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge us and offer us a drink. From get-go, he had a flat affectation and never smiled. 10 minutes later and the drinks weren't back. He took forever to take our food order. We explained that we wanted to have our 2 entrees and 2 sides all come out at the same time, but he brought my side and my daughter's entree and it It took more than an hour more to get my entree and my daughter's side. He never apologized or explained what was going on. My daughter's drink was empty for more than 30 minutes, and he never noticed or offered her another drink or even a glass of water. When we asked about our food, he was extremely rude and gaslit us. Specifically, I asked if he could check on our order because other tables had come and gone long after we got there and we still did not have our entrées. His response was "I don't know what your expectations are." I explained that my expectations were very low at this chain restaurant, but I did not expect it to take well over an hour to get food, or to not be checked on, or to have empty glasses and never be asked if we want a refill, or to have a server who did not ever smile or bother to apologize for the fiasco. We sat there for so long waiting for the rest of our food that the bus boy came by to clear our dishes. We told him that we still hadn't even gotten the one missing entrée and the one missing side. The only explanation that we finally got from the horrible server was that there were a lot of to go orders. Well, I think you need to get your house in order and figure out how to handle your orders and get servers who are have a baseline of politeness. And I would certainly think that you would treat the people who bothered to come to your restaurant in person with Priority. I will never go back. read more

I haven't been to a of changs in years and this type of sub par service is probably why. i already was having a bad night and now I have to clean my kitchen and throw away how many paper towels soaked with soup because they couldn't make sure a lid was on correctly? If you love Chinese fare, you'll be right at home at PF Chang's. The menu is large, the prices are fair and you can expect great service. It was my friend's pick for lunch and as a weight watcher. perhaps not my first choice; however, each menu item cites the calorie count which was a good place for me to start. My hot and sour soup was fresh, hot, loaded with goodies and delicious. No complaints with my portion of ginger soy chicken served with steamed broccoli. The chicken was tender, the broccoli was perfectly cooked and the side of brown rice was prepared well ... no clumps. My friend ordered the sea bass which was delicious and cooked just until it flaked; however, if you like a firmer fish, you probably would want to request that it be cooked to a medium doneness. Our server, Raymond, was attentive and service was prompt, even though we were dining during lunch rush. Keep this 'oldie but goodie' on your lunch rotation. I have been to this location 3 times now, all spread out over a long period of time. Our most recent experience, we stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly. Our server was very friendly and made sure to ask if we had any questions about the menu. We decided to order the "tempura poppers" as an appetizer and the "Chang's Spicy Chicken platter" to share. The poppers were interesting. It was essentially a jalepeno popper inside a sushi roll, battered and fried. They were also drizzled in a couple of sauces. They took a while to make it to our table, but they were piping hot and tasted pretty good. Loved the addition of the sauces. The Spicy Chicken came with egg noodles. The chicken was in no way spicy and while it didn't taste bad, we liked the noodles better than the chicken itself. We just felt that the noodles had way more flavor than the chicken did. The host people were super nice and sweet, but the moment we got to our seat, it was all downhill from there 1) waited almost 10 mins just to have a waiter greet us and take our order. Instead the 2 host people took our order. 2) after that, we ordered our food. When we got the egg drop soup, it tasted EXACTLY like CAMPBELL's Chicken Noodle soup. Kid you not LOL. The cream cheese wontons were bland and tasteless. The sauce they say on was good 3) when our waiter finally came by, we asked for a refill of water, WE NEVER GOT IT. 4) Idk what happened to our waiter but we never saw him after he gave us our appetizers. You just can't make this up! I'm not sure how you run out of vegetables, but they did. The green beans was the one thing I was anxious to eat and they had none!! The dynamite shrimp was blah.....I've had better elsewhere. The lettuce wraps with chicken a total waste of money. You get more water chestnuts than chicken. In fact, the chicken is chopped so fine, you hardly taste it. Add that, and the fact it was served cold, I can see why there were less than 6 guests in that large place (that should have been a red flag, but then again, it was new years day) lastly, the short rib fried rice tasted like it was old, like the ingredients were from a day or two ago. The timing is horrendous. Our waiter was nice, personable and really trying to do his best. He did have to ask us what we wanted a few times though. There was only four of us. We ordered standard items, nothing wild and not even four full meals. It took us two hours.... it was incredibly slow and no the restaurant was not full or packed or even close. Their food is ok, potstickers are good, lemonade is too sweet and their margarita was incredibly tart, but it was all very Americanized. Their lobster dumplings with butter were literally lobster ravioli completely swimming in butter but in the shape of a dumpling. All their desserts are also items like New York Cheesecake and Lava Cake. Of course, this is a chain and not going to be incredibly authentic, but I certainly remember it being less.... average? I came here with my friend a few days before Christmas during lunch time. While I knew this wouldn't be the best Asian cuisine ever, I was sad that it wasn't really that great. The freshness and authenticity is certainly missing, but that is to be expected of American-grown franchises, so I certainly don't blame anyone in the restaurant. When we first arrived, it was slightly bizarre in that no one game to greet us at the podium, and it wasn't even busy. Overall, the experience was just bizarre and not so great - aka the 2 start rating reflective of "Could've been better." I will say, the bartender was kind and she was attentive and enjoyable. Others seemed to truly love this establishment. My friend and I discussed that we wanted to go there largely for nostalgic purposes. It's just a sad experience and the waiter was nice but clueless about serving. He was a genuinely nice person but very distracted. Other staff had to keep assisting him. The ambiance is sad and lacks energy, which stinks because I like the franchise, it's just that this one has really gone downhill. Maybe new management with some oomph could turn it around. Haven't been to a PF Changs in a hot minute but always remember liking the food. Highly recommend: chicken lettuce wraps, shrimp dumplings, and Mongolian beef. Still good: Brussel sprouts and the hot chicken noodle soup (hard to eat but really good). Service was great- literally had like 4 people at different times come to the table which was nice. This is a solid PF Chang's and the only one in the area. It is a chain, it is americanized asian fare, but it is solid and offers a great alternative when in the mood for a consistent safe good meal. We made a reservation via their website and we sat promptly when arrived. I was surprised about how busy it was and i am glad I made the reservation as there was a waiting line by the door . We shared the chicken lettuce wraps, which are always good , and a spicy chicken dish (I forgot the name). We finished with the fried banana desert and we were stuffed. The portions are big enough to share and I recommend eating family style to be able to get a taste of more dishes. Everyone was wearing facemasks and the service was great, fast and polite. We liked that there are Tesla destination charges on the mall, so we were able to get a charge while we ate. read more

P.F. Chángs closed near my house in Massachusetts, in Dedham, Mass and I did not know why. Well, now I know, Chef P.F. has given up his quality for food prep. He has given up cleaning his locations, at least this one in Mt Plesant. SC. Green Bean App came out warm. Lo Mein warm and came out before the rib app. Ribs are not fall off the bone but premade meat with sweet stuff on them. Had to visit the bathroom and inside was wet around the urinal, toilets with??? You know! Could net get close so threw down a bunch of paper towel to cover the ?? (Was that or throw away my sneakers.) My honest thought is P.F. has given up the business, cleanliness forgotten, and food quality for Chef PF has tanked. I remember great times we had in a lot of restaurants we have visited that have gone out of business. Valleys Seak House, Pier 4 in Boston, Jimmy's, even Freindly's and they went out with grace. I was always glad that P.F. Chang's arrived in Charleston. Doesn't a Cheesecake Factory usually follow suit...I'm still waiting. I had t been here in years but their "new" lunch menu was affordable and the portions plentiful. I ordered from the Pick 1 + 1 section of the menu getting chicken lettuce wraps and Side Salad. This side salad was huge. I also got the shrimp dumplings fried. So good. My fellow diners got their spring rolls (fried) and the fried rice and Honey Glazed Shrimp. We were seated immediately, Tyler was at our table within 2-3 minutes, greeted us , took our drink and appetizer order, even made some small talk. His demeanor and professional manner put us at ease. Asian dining for people who don't actually spend time with any Asian people. To be fair, the lettuce wraps were tasty. They've figured out just the right recipe for the entrees to appeal to any person familiar with American Chinese food. PF Chang's is to Chinese food what Olive Garden is to Italian food -- meaning not of those places at all but still somewhat satisfying. Panda Express at a higher price point. read more

Customer Service: When I was there, itcwas early lunch and a little slow. The server was professinal, but did not check in that often. I grade this a 7 Food I Ate: Tradional lettuce wrap- Amazballs! Best in town and a must try.I give it a 10. Dyamight shrimp lettuce wrap. This is the same dyamight shrimp you can order separately, but of course this is the lettuce wrap version. It was good, but not enough shrimp for me. Not worth the price either. Just order the non-lettuce version. I grade it an 6. Lettuce wrap sauces- For both, these were pretty good. I grade it a 9 Price: I liked the price on the traditional, but not th he dyamight. First off I'm so happy to see vegan options for this restaurant, it's particularly hard to find places where me and my friend can happily enjoy our meals as she is vegan and I'm not. She ordered the Ma Po Tofu which she said was delicious. I went with the crab wonton's and Mongolian beef with a side of lo mein. I've definitely had way better crab wontons and was not a fan of their sauce. The Mongolian beef was just ok as well, and the noodles were plain so I had to add some soy sauce for flavor.
