I made reservations on Saturday, February 25th for 4:15pm at Market Commons to celebrate on of our adult daughters birthday. I was absolutely % pleased from start to finish. I had brought a little cake, flowers in a vase and a ballon and arrived earlier than the others in our party. The manager , ( Shara) immediately took them and went ahead and set the table for my birthday daughter's "place of honor." There was a beautiful gold flower like place mat and gold chop sticks at her place. As soon as we were seated our waiter we were blessed with (Matt) was at our side taking our drink & appetizer orders. ( 2 bottles of Prosecco, roasted Brussels sprouts and lettuce wraps). This place is great. You always know what you're getting, so they score major points for consistency. The appetizers are out of this world. Eating the chicken lettuce wraps, the fried dumplings, the BBQ ribs... they're so good that it's like "why order any entrees?" The California Rolls and Crab Wontons are nothing short of spectacular too. But it's too much to order 5 frigging appetizers so I don't get them as often as I'd like. The entrees are good, especially the Lo Mein (my wife prefers the fried rice), but the chicken and beef entrees haven't been the flavors I've come to enjoy and expect when ordering Chinese food. Don't take that to be a criticism, it is more a matter of my preferences, not a warning of any lack of quality or freshness. I prefer savory flavors, and most of their chicken or beef entrees tend to either be too spicy, or a little bit sweet. Not exactly sure what happened but our most recent experience here sucked. Made a reservation online. When we got there we checked in and they sent me a text saying we were checked in and they would send another text when our table was ready. We went to the bar to wait. 30 minutes later we walk back over to the hostess and when she sees us she said they couldn't find us. Well how about you send me a text like you said you would?!?! That's what I was waiting for at the bar. Anyway we finally get seated at our table. 10 minutes later we were still waiting for our server to come over for the 1st time. We called-ahead for a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes beyond our time, on a busy Friday night. We had a schedule to keep, since we were on our way to a concert, and so we communicated with our waiter up-front, that we were ready to put our whole order in, at the git-go, and as soon as our food was served, we asked to square-up our check. Second lunch time visit having loved it the first time! However, today the soup was not hot! I called the server over and told her! She looked annoyed but kindly got it heated up for me. At the same time though it was served with the main course! My partner was still eating her starter and obviously I hadn't started my soup at this point. I observed this to be the norm at the other tables who were also eating starters whilst their main course sat idly at their table. Consequently the main course is also cold by the time you get around to eating it. This establishment advertises an express lunch but in my view this is at the expense of eating your food at less than optimal temperature. Such a shame as the food is delicious and presented very nicely. Sadly however I will not be eating there again as my preference is to eat my food when it is freshly out of the kitchen and still hot. Whilst they may cater for a largely tourist trade if they wish to keep locals returning then they need to up their game and resolve this easily tweaked service process. First I tried to do a reservation online and after I filled everything out it said you can't reserve a party of 5. We decided to chance it and walked in. We told the woman we are a party of 5 : 2 adults and 3 kids There were empty booths and she said it was a 45 minute wait. When my husband asked for a booth they said they only seat 4 to a booth. We asked why not because our toddler is tiny and can fit in a booth and all the Other places in Myrtle beach didn't have a problem. She still refused. We walked out and we are at Red Robin. And guess what? Red Robin seats more than 4 in a booth! What a ridiculous rule and I would leave a negative 5 if I could! Ordered carry-out this past Friday night. First of all, they don't have curbside anymore because according to the cashier, the city took their curbside parking spaces. They need to take that off the website because I was definitely not dressed to go inside. But anyway, I ordered Ma Po Tofu, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Hot and Sour soup. The soup was great but the Tofu dish was very dry and the tofu was just okay. The wonderful spicy sauce that usually is poured on top was nonexistent. The Lo Mein noodles were cold, sticky and bland. I'm not sure if just the carry-out orders are rushed and awful but I was totally disappointed. I'll be going to Golden Kitchen from now on. Our regular Chinese restaurant, China Hao, is closed on Sunday's so we decided to order from Chang's. HUGE mistake. My wife and I decided to split a dinner because the website said they are "family style" meals, meant to feed multiple people. We got the sesame chicken and felt the $15 was fair for a meal that was supposed to feed two or more people. I actually think it's meant for four because they gave us four chip stocks, four fortune cookies, and four sets of plastic ware. We knew something was wrong just by how light the bad was. We get home and open things up and I was livid!!! We counted the pieces of sesame chicken (family size, mind you).... there were 15 small pieces. The white rice container was only half filled. I'm 100% serious when I say the meal was less than you get for an individual meal at your average Chinese restaurant. Our first visit here. We went to dinner with a friend who had eaten there before. I wasn't thrilled with her choice to go there, as we had so-so food at other locations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food and service were very good to excellent. We had the appetizer ribs. They had lots of moist tender meat on them and were delicious. I would have eaten two servings. The wonton soups had little bits of chicken, shrimp and veggies. Also very good. The vegetarian spring rolls were also good but the sauce was not the typical duck sauce so be aware. I got the Mongolian beef. The meat was tough but tasty. It was served with just spring onions which were fresh. My wife got honey chicken and our friend had the honey shrimp. Both were very good. The chicken was both crispy and fork tender. What can I say! PF Changs definitely nailed it at their location at Market Commons in Myrtle Beach South Carolina!! With an emphasis not only on food quality, but also customer service and atmosphere of the restaurant itself, they simply did nothing wrong with our dining experience! They even managed to turn my sister who is not an Asian dining fan into a true fan! They suggest going with several different dishes so you can sample different tastes, flavors, and sample some variety! We went with sesame chicken, broccoli and chicken, Mongolian need, chicken lo mein, and THE BEST walnut shrimp and melon! (Trust me, just get it, you will NOT regret this) that had to be one of the best dining choices I've ever made! PF Changs definitely nailed this location and dining experience! Came here for my birthday because I had never been and I love Chinese food. I had heard that their lettuce wraps were to die for but I was not impressed. Then I decided to get a glass of wine and I'm no wine expert but when a rosé description is listed as "sweet," I don't think it's supposed to taste 100% dry. I could only take a couple sips. Then I asked the waiter if they had any "shrimp sauce" and he looked at me like I was crazy so I said, "also called yum yum sauce or white sauce" and he was nice enough to bring me a variety of small cups of sauces (yes I am aware that shrimp sauce is served with Japanese food but I thought I'd ask anyway) however, none of them I enjoyed. My partner enjoyed one that looked like "shrimp sauce" but it was a bit too spicy for my taste so he asked our waiter if he could get a larger cup of it then asked what it was called and our waiter actually said, "I believe it's called yum yum sauce." At that point I was done with the whole situation and said, "That's what I asked you for 15 minutes ago and you said you'd never heard of yum yum sauce." I rarely complain at restaurants considering I was a restaurant employee for 20 years, everything from host to server to manager. When I complained whichever manager was there seemed like she just wanted us gone. I will never come here again, and I will warn all of my friends and family. We visit this restaurant every time we are in MB. (About 4 times in the last 5 years.). The food was excellent today, as always. The service was efficient and our waitress was attentive. No complaints. One area of concern is the physical condition of the restaurant. The bathrooms were messy - leaking toilets, dirty floors, walls and doors in desperate need of painting.
