I know NYC has so many good restaurants and many would question why I would go to a chain, but I did it anyway. The PF Changs on University Place is cavernous and sports its famous horse. It is pleasantly decorated with murals of dragons and Chinese lore. I went for the lunch special which included a main dish plus an appetizer for under 20 bucks. This was my motivation since a fast food burger can cost that much. I had the Mongolian beef on rice which had a generous helping of the beef. The brown rice was not tender in the least. The worst experience. Went in with the email advertising the lunch special. The email should said " excludes University place " bc everything a minimum of 5.00 more, very small portions .I was told the wait is 10 minutes. I was there 34 minutes still waiting for my " lunch special " (21.00) which was not special at all . I get back to my office to find they forgot the soup . Had to walk all the way back ( now my lunch break is over) to show them the bag had one tiny portion . No soup for you! There were 4 more people complaining they were overcharged. A new Asian dumpling place opened across the street on University place, so I know I will be going there the next time., No apology from manager Fernando. Will definitely not be going back , as the place price gouges, gets orders wrong , the wait is too long, they do not accept their email offers, and the food is lousy. Greasy and filled with sugar. If you are looking to not spend too much money but still get a good meal and drinks PF CHANG'S is the place. They have great lunch, dinner and happy hour prices. The portions are great and the food is always good. Service at this location was great it was pretty empty so our waiter was For appetizers we got the BBQ RIBS, HALF LETTUCE WRAPS, VEGGIE SPRING ROLLS, PORK EGG ROLLS, DYNAMITE SHRIMP. We really enjoyed everything but the ribs were everyone's favorite.Portions are definitely sharable if everyone is still getting a meal. We never would've considered such a place were it not for the 4 stars but we were in the area and didn't the usual bar food. Firstly, the place is FREEZING. It was cool outside, and folks were in tees but it reminded me that P.F. Chang's originated in Scottsdale, AZ, an AC-happy place. It was seriously worse than the subway; I had to walk outside and peruse 2nd St. clothing store while I made my partner wait for our food. We ordered the wonton soup for 4, which fit the bill, and I appreciated that the soup spoons were not plastic. However, note the soup really serves 3 not 4. Our vegetable spring rolls came out next, on a bed of puffy rice noodles: Our waitress promptly took away the plate though after we'd finished the rolls but not the noodles. (I think the server thought we were in or is from a flyover state?) The rolls were good but the dipping sauce tasted like soap; to be fair, my partner didn't think so. The Buddha's Delight, in my opinion, was too fusion-y. The taste of the white wine in the sauce kept cropping up just as I longed for the real thing. The prep cooks also didn't trim the snow peas as they do in Chinatown:( The restaurant could also indicate on the menu that there's a brown rice option: We're in a coastal state, hello? I asked to pay as the waitress was about to present me with the dessert menu, and I think I came off as rude so I tipped in cash. Walking in I was amazed how large it is inside and how clean. The booth we were seated in was large and private - love that for a nice intimate dinner. We decided to have an array of appetizers. I only have 45 minutes before dr. appointment so I just killing time on Happy hour at the restaurant. Cocktail is $8.99 and some small potion of appetizer. I like Slow-braised pork ribs, come in 3 pieces, CRAB WONTONS also 3 pieces but I don't like this one. No crab at all only cheese inside, wonton is too hard and dipping is too bland. "How did we stumble upon the best kept secret in NY," my friend asked as we sat at the bar of the sprawling P.F. Chang's in the Greenwich Village/Union Square area. I laughed, because the upscale Chinese chain restaurant had been a favorite of mine over 20 years ago, and it was a place I had only been to once or twice since. However, I had no idea that they had a location in Manhattan, so it was a bit of nostalgia and a bit of kitschy dining that we had stumbled upon when other bars in the area were already closed for the night. Since we had already eaten, though it had been a small meal, we decided to stick with drinks and appetizers, which was perfect because we happened to arrive during their late-night happy hour. We each got a $9 Zen Margarita made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and a float of Cointreau. It was also supposed to contain a splash of simple syrup, but we asked the bartender to omit that. The drink was pretty good and rather strong; it was definitely worth the $9. We also shared a half-order of the Chang's Lettuce Wraps with chicken, which were excellent! I had gotten that signature dish at the restaurant many times in the past, but this rendition was one of the better ones. The lettuce was green and crisp, while the poultry mixture had just the perfect hint of sauce, ensuring that it was not too salty. Some other friends ordered the Crab Wontons and Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings, which they enjoyed as well. The one thing that was less appealing was the calories being listed on the menu, haha! We were pleasantly surprised to find a P.F. Chang's in Manhattan and, even with all of the excellent non-chain restaurants, might consider going back one day! After all, it was a classic! read more

I love the chicken lettuce wraps. I ordered them all the time. But yesterday I was so disappointed. Usually they have a teriyaki sweet taste and a teriyaki dipping sauce. This order was bland n the dipping sauce was a very hot spicy dipping sauce. Not the same. When I asked for the teriyaki sauce she brought me hot mustard. I like Chang's at Union Square quite a bit. The interior design is nice and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Additionally, the food is very good. Basically you're pretty much guaranteed a nice dining experience. Great date night, or special occasion place. On this occasion I didn't really have a meal, per se, but rather ordered just a few dishes. One order was Northern-Style Pork Spare Ribs, which was very good. Loved it. Two other dishes were a California Roll, and a Dynamite Roll. My friend raved about both, but for me, having lived in Japan for several years, they were both just 'ok'. Typical Americanized sushi. We also ordered some pork fried rice which was excellent! For dessert I had a red velvet cake, which was good, even though it was mostly whipped cream. I've had other desserts there in the past, which were delicious, so I know they can do it. Overall, I love this place. The staff is so very nice, and the food is generally very good. If you want Americanized, MSG-filled, salty Chinese food, then PF Changs is your spot! The last time I ate at a PF Chang's was probably back in California when it was popular in 2007. When I arrived to sit at the bar, the chair had greasy fingerprints on the seat and the table had spilled sauce on it. My friend and I went here before a show nearby for happy hour and grabbed some happy hour well drinks for $7 and their happy hour priced appetizers for $10: Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Crab Wontons and the Pork Dumplings. We also tried the Mongolian Beef from the main menu, but were unable to finish this. The quality of the beef was poor, and I'm sure the amount of sodium in all the dishes were extremely high. The service at the bar was good however. They had one of the restrooms locked the entire time, so only one restroom was available to use. There weren't many people in the restaurant, so when I got out of the bathroom there was a line of two guys and one girl waiting. Good spot to stop in for happy hour drinks, but food wise you can find better! read more

Came here to celebrate a family member's birthday because last year I've had fantastic experiences at this location. We were very disappointed overall. The cleanliness of the restaurant is below standards, with food crumbs stuck between the booth seats, the menus were sticky, and the bathrooms were also not very clean. Our waitress was excellent and the food was decent but everything else was not. We ordered a few drinks. Two of us ordered the specialty margarita and asked for less ice - the drinks came back not topped off (at least add water if you're going to be stingy with booze to top it off) and they weren't filled evenly. The mojito was soda and lime juice. We sent that back and had them remake it. If it wasn't for our understanding waitress, we would have left the restaurant. Had a doctor app today and wanted some.lunch. I missed the old neighborhood I use to work at 109 East 16th street. Sat at the bar and had the Pink cosmo which was so freaking good and then I had the crab wontons which were excellent and the pan fried shrimp dumplings the place is really nice and clean. My only issue is with my server at the bar, I pay attention to everything and I felt she didn't check on me other to bring my food out and the bill. But the two gentlemen got all smiles and were asked if they needed anything else and I don't like that for me. Mainly because part of my experiences is the energy and attention of my server and that determines the kind of tip I leave!!!. Today she got 6 dollars I really wanted to leave nothing but.... let's just say thw gentleman at the door would make a great server I believe his name was George ( he wore glasses). Stuck for restaurant ideas for my aunt's last night in NYC. Every good restaurants were already booked out then suddenly I remembered PF Changs @ Union Sq. The place is big enough for a last minute reservation, accommodating 7 of us. The place is nice and clean and the decor is pretty nice. My aunt definitely liked the look of the restaurant. The menu is pretty extensive. It accommodates for all different people with different preferences. My fave was the Brussels sprouts with Kung Pao sauce. Very well done. The kids menu were pretty decent and it comes w a small side of fruits. We weren't shy with ordering and walked away with leftovers. It ended being $250 for the group of 7 (including children) and no dessert as we were too full. read more

We ordered the 3 part dinner special which was very delicious and enough food to fill you up, I had the sesame chicken and my friend had the beef. The foods was nicely seasoned and flavored. The staff made my friends' special night magical. From the booking through the serving to the end of the event the staff was helpful, accommodating , and kind!!!!! When my young out of town friends said they wanted to have their wedding in NYC -on a tight budget- I was skeptical. P.F. Chang's gave us a beautiful venue with a private dinning area for 30 people. I am not one to leave reviews but I have to for this so called Chinese fusion or something. We ordered the Mongolian beef- sauce was good but boy, the actual beef was tough and chewy. For the price they are charging, they should at least get that right. Absolutely not worth for the price and minimal serving! Shrimp fried rice was a disaster as well! For a Chinese restaurant, how can one not get that right? It was very tasteless, with minimal amount of shrimp. Menu is not one would expect of a Chinese restaurant, even a fusion. Dessert options was surprising - not even one Asian dessert option there. If I wanted to get a cheesecake, I certainly will not be going here! If you don't believe me, go check the menu out. Restroom was so dirty- used toilet papers on the floor? For such an establishment, and few patrons, not one of the staff that were just hanging out by the bar can at least check the cleanliness of the restrooms? They were more staff than customers! For such a large real estate in a very good location, with very few patrons eating on a Friday night- we should have taken note of that and turned back to the exit. It was a very expensive meal for a pretentious Meal trying to be Chinese or Asian. Like one reviewer mentioned, Panda Express or one of those small Chinese restaurants would have been better and affordable as well! It's saucy but with the lettuce and crunchy, if balanced out. *Salt & Pepper Shrimp - simple and not overcooked. Food was decent but the service was shit. We went for our 17th anniversary and thought it would be pleasant. Well we ordered drinks with our entree and the drinks didn't come until we were halfway finished with our entrees. And it wasn't that busy. And my husband's drink wasn't even right but we didn't dare say anything because we didn't want to wait another half hour. Our waitress had no interest in us and disappeared constantly. And again it wasn't busy. We finally decided not to stay for dessert and I had to get up and find someone to get us our check. Our waitress was doing god knows what and didn't seem interested in checking on us. There were like 5 customers and plenty of staff. 09/12/2025- Pembroke Lakes Mall new location I purchased the Mongolian Tofu, but got flour or bread dipped in a sauce. I could barely find a piece of Tofu. There was more green onion than anything The beef and broccoli was gross. The beef seemed to have been fried, something then tossed on it and the broccoli added when it was being served. Usually the restaurant at the Sawgrass Mall is ok. This one was bad, and very disappointing. I hope it's because it is new and that it will get better. This chain has my favorite crab Rangoons bc they taste like chicken. I love their bathroom design and the decors r comfy seating. Music choice was interesting and the ambiance was dark. Ultimately PF Chang serves stepped up Chinese takeout dishes. If you're looking for some type of fine dining authentic experience. This is more like Chilli's or Applebee's. At this location I think the service isn't very good. Clearly the workers are not incentivized to be responsive or attentive enough. I had to wait awhile for our waitress to stop by or make eye contact. Food quality isn't much to write about, clearly it is your neighborhood takeout Chinese made a bit bigger pieces. Came in during their opening weekend. I haven't had PF Chang's in years so we were initially excited! The new location is absolutely gorgeous. Every inch of this place is dramatic, colorful and plainly just art. Our server was super pleasant, definitely newer to the job but so kind and really knew a lot about the menu. We ordered their famous lettuce wraps and the dynamite shrimp for apps and when we were talking to our waitress about dinner options and that we wanted the Orange Chicken, we were told it is served family style and big enough for the three of us. Of course the lettuce wraps were amazing. We never got the dynamite shrimp, we actually asked about it after we ate the other two items came out and were eaten about the shrimp. We were told the kitchen forgot, it came out 20 mins later (after we were here for 1.5 hours) was cold and sad. We weren't even given a discount for it. We were also annoyed with the orange chicken. 100% not served family style. A normal portion size of chicken with one small bowl of fried rice. Where is the shareable size in that. I think when a restaurant in a great location is mostly empty on a Friday night at 6pm should have been warning enough, but how bad could it be? Here's my list of grievances :) Flavorless fried rice dish. A chicken fried rice dish that tasted like fish. Honey and orange chicken plates were spicy (since when?) (I'm ok with it, but some in the party couldn't eat it). Hot and sour soups with mystery meats that resembled chef boyardee meat.
