PF Chang's has changed its menu and the quality has significantly gone down. In particular, the Chang's spicy chicken. Used to be good size chunks of white chicken. I'm surprised this place does not even have 4 stars. I personally love this place to bits. Fyi, the food here isnt Authenic Chinese food. Its chinese food with an aamerican/ italian touch. Its different and very delicious. The price is very fair for the quality of food, service and environment. The atmosphere is very clean and quite large. Dim lighting with nice decor. There is also a nice size bar. I must admit the hostesses are a bit annoying and kind of in there own world but who cares!!! As long as I get seated on time. I have always encountered very nice waiters. Management even comes around once in awhile asking how everything is. The foods absolutely great! read more

Really needs a remodeling and a major clean up. Place is old and worn out. Food was decent but bus boy who brought it was very unfriendly and dropped the plates on the table. Be warned- I don't think there is a one truly "healthy" thing on the menu. But how I love this place so! Since it is an Americanized Chinese restaurant, things aren't always what I expected. For example, the Won-Ton Soup (one bowl is enough for two people!) has these humongous shrimp in it along with the dumplings. I fell in love at first taste though. The spring roll are also very good. Love this restaurant!! Another one of my favorites. The food is so good & they have a beautiful bar. The patio is beautiful weather permitting. The service is impeccable & they often have 2 for 1 specials that get sent to my husband & I for being frequent diners. I use open table for most of my restaurants & they are not part of that. During the conversation with the waitress and the acceptance of the order, the waitress was cleaning the dirt from under her fingernails to the surface of our table, behind which we were sitting. I have been going to PF Chang's in Northbrook for 10 years. The food and service has always been delicious. Today, I was joined by the same group that has been dining there for 10 years. The lettuce wraps, which has always been one of there staples, are now served in a deep bowl. On the bottom, is a heavy layer of noodles, with the chicken on top. Before, it was laid out on a platter, so you could see the portion size. After requesting the hot mustard to spice up their teriyaki sauce, we were told that they have been out of hot mustard for over a week. What's wrong with substituting one hot mustard sauce for another???? Go find one! Our server was very good and attentive, but, neglected to point out the everyday specials that were on a table tent. The foods here were "okay." It's better than Chinese buffet or your local Chinese restaurant but it's a bit pricy for Chinese food. The service was excellent and they make sure everything is okay. However, I'd rather drive down a little further to Chinatown for food that tastes more authentic at a lower price. read more

I live just down the street yet never go here. We've been now a total of 3 times and there is a reason why. I remember the first time YEARS ago, not that the food was bad, just not flavorful. Flashforward a handful of years and we met some friends at the bar for drinks and apps, and from what I remember, it was fine, but nothing to make me run back again. Now for the most recent visit Friday 11/30. We placed an order online for pick up. Maybe they don't get alot of people actually picking up there food? When Sig other went to pick up, they assumed he was a driver for a food delivery place. Anyways, ordered Budda's Feast, chicken fried rice, spinach & garlic and Long life noodles. While nothing was bad, the only thing that had any flavor was the Long life noodles. Everything else was bland. I mean, as though I was eating paper. The chicken was tender but again, just no flavor. Asked for soy sauce when ordering, and it was on the receipt, but none in the bag. That would have helped. Not sure we'll come back. read more

If you were unaware, the P.F stands for Paul Fleming, and my opinion is that this gentlemen stick to steaks. This is the only location I have been to, so feel free to maintain that perspective, but each visit has proved an underwhelming experience. Got sweet and sour pork. Although not terrible , it wasn't sweet or sour. The pork pieces were just dipped in sauce so they were not totally dry, but there was no sauce at all to moisten to taste or put on the rice. Not much fruit either. One of the worst sweet and sour pork meals ever. read more

Awful service- Ordered food over the phone and had to wait for an hour; no big deal. Picked up the food and the order was wrong. Called the Northbrook store and spoke to the manager Mark. In ten minutes conversation with Mark, there was no accountability "or" an apologize at his end. He kept saying how "he" is going to fire the call center next week, consistently talked over me, and sounded condescending especially for someone who should acknowledge the mistakes at his end.. Let's just say he sounded like he was CEO of PF chang instead of a manager who is assigned to run the store and is sorely incompetent in doing so. Mr. Mark, if you think you are too good to be in that store, do the company and other's a favor - leave. read more

Salty. I actually like a little salty food but wow, I mean this is salty. If you are Asian and don't like salty, you shouldn't eat here.

I ordered food from P.F. Chang's last night and was given a time to pick it up. I stood in line and waited for some time passed the correct time. The person at the desk was doing many different things and was distracted by phone calls, the difficulty of changing the receipt tape on the charge card machine, talking to kitchen staff about orders and mistakes made etc. It was very unorganized and I was finally given my bag of food but the whole process was extremely unpleasant. I brought my food home and it was dry, cold and very salty. It looked like it had been sitting around for way too long! I live only 10 minutes away from the restaurant! As for ambience I'll give 4 or 4.5 rating. The decoration was nice and interior itself was inviting. However if I rate with only the food, it'll be a 3. We ordered around 3 entrees and a lot of the dishes were salty. If it wasn't salty, it was bland. So in positive note, you can eat the bland and salty dishes together and it'll become a decent meal. On a Friday night, this place can get pretty crowded and fairly loud. I'm not really a fan of packed restaurants... And yet, I eat here more than just about any other restaurant. P.F. Chang's contemporary Asian-fusion menu isn't going to win award for authenticity (which isn't the point), but it wins my own personal highest marks for taste and freshness. Near as I can tell, the base of a lot of dishes is Szechuan-style, but with several fusion twists to each dish. Most of their dishes are their own unique creations. Their Pad Thai isn't like authentic Pad Thai you'd get at a genuine Thai restaurant... But it's still really good! I dare say, it's sometimes better, because the non-traditional seasoning seems to suit the super-fresh veggies and thicker noodles. Their soups are excellent, as are their other appetizers. They prepare wok-seared veggies as good as any authentic Chinese restaurant I've been too. They have a fairly extensive gluten-free menu. About the only issue I've had is that - as tasty as their dishes are - they are a little on the salty side. Their drinks are flawless, though. They've got a lot of creative non-alcoholic options, as well as cocktails. They have a very well-stocked bar, so they can make just about anything you are in the mood for. The bar area has a few TVs, and the dining room is very spacious (though it can still get loud). P.F. Chang's is now a regular part of my regular dining plans. Fresh food, good drinks, and excellent service is too good a hook to pass up! read more

Solid asian food, its location causes it to be pretty crowded at times and service can be slow. If you are familiar with the chain, it is a typical PF Changs, no more, no less. Watch out if you order take out, check everything at the bar. They have forgotten one or two of our items a few times. Better than most other asian take out in the area though. read more

I love PF Chang's...it is my guilty chain restaurant pleasure. This location is great since it's right by a mall (shopping is another guilty pleasure) and has ample parking. I have always loved PF Changs. It's a chain that I can find anywhere with the same recipes that I know I like - that being said, the menu has changed a lot over the years to a point where the portions have decreased and the prices have gone up. The lettuce wraps here are awesome (and gluten free for those who care) and they have some great specials every once in a while to bring you in. If you're in for lunch and you're really hungry though,I would recommend ordering the dinner size portion. I ended up getting two lunch specials because of how small the lunch one was when I went and spending more than I intended. The waiters there though we're all super nice and friendly and the food came out really quickly (and very fresh) too. I will probably never stop coming back here. read more

I live in Deerfield and have been going to PF Changs for years - The food is good, much better than most local chinese restaurants - HOWEVER....DO NOT DO TAKE OUT FROM PF CHANGES unless you're interested in having an awful meal/experience. Last Saturday night, I made the mistake of ordering PF Changs for take-out - I used their website to place the order since i thought it would eliminate anything from being missed. I was wrong. 2 of the 5 people who were planning on eating the PF Changs that I ordered, are vegetarians and ordered a bunch of PF Chang's vegetables. When you order online you're also given the opportunity to indicate which sauces you'd like them to pack. Since the vegetarians in my group were only ordering vegetables they requested side sauces such as mustard and chili paste. When I picked up my order, I double checked the receipt to make sure everything I ordered was on the order, and I went home. When we unpacked the food we discovered that they forgot to include one of the vegetable dishes we ordered and paid for, and they didn't pack ANY sides or chopsticks - ALL OF WHICH WAS INCLUDED ON the order. I called PF Changs and spoke to a manager named ROBIN - It took over 10 minutes to get Robin on the phone, and when he got on the line he indicated that the only thing he could do was for me to come back and pickup the food that was forgotten. I told him that this was not possible and asked him to deliver the missing food that I paid. He said they couldn't do that and would call me back the next day. The next day he left me a message indicating that they would send me a $10 gift card which cost the same as the missing dish. There was ZERO concern over the fact that at least one person in my group did not eat dinner, and there was no side sauces as requested. I understand that mistakes happen, and I provided PF Changs with an opportunity to make things right - they chose to not make things right. Offering me a gift card for the same amount as the missing dish, indicated to me - that they don't care if/when a customer's meal is ruined or if I ever return to their restaurant. As noted, the food at PF Changs is good, but their take-out is horrible, and the management doesn't care about if/when they make a mistake. My objective for writing this review is to prevent someone else from having the same poor experience that I had. read more

Haven't been in a while and came with friends yesterday. We were seated on the patio, which was recently remodeled (cramped glass tables replaced by black wicker booths) and has a very nice ambiance now. Service was fast and friendly, drinks were good. The food was slightly disappointing. We tried two dishes from the summer menu (the spicy tuna roll and heirloom tomato salad) and they were eh, ok. Nothing special. Then we ordered our standbys: Mongolian Beef and Lo Mein. Both were slightly overcooked. So disappointing because these are always delicious! Kitchen must have had an off night. I won't hold it against them. We also got a slice of chocolate cake. It was HUGE and a bit dry for my taste but we three still plowed through it. read more

I really like PF Chang's; BUT I do not understand why to-go orders take 40 minutes! Not everyone plans way ahead of time when calling to order for pick-up. Usually, people do not have time to wait so they decide to order for carry-out instead. 15 minutes is the norm wait for carry-out, PF Chang's is the only place I know of with this ridiculous wait time (other than pizza places). It was either between CPK or PF Chang's and I'm not a fan of CPK, and I have never tried PF Chang's so what the heck. I heard some good things from some friends, but I still didn't expect much because I know it wouldn't be an authentic Chinese restaurant. I ordered the vegetarian ma po tofu with brown rice, my friend ordered this prawn with noodles dish. For appetizers, we ordered veggie lettuce wraps, which was way too salty, considering I loooove salty snacks and foods. The entrees were kind of salty too. Compared to other Asian Fusion restaurants, this is one of the better ones, but I would have gave it more stars, if the food weren't so dam spicy!
