These are the best tacos I've had in Houston. The menu is diverse and the outdoor seating is great!! I will definitely keep coming back!

To the Manager of Pacific Coast Tacos, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding multiple recent experiences at your Shepherd and Alabama location. I visit this location at least twice a month specifically for the fried shrimp tacos, which have always been one of my favorites. Last week, I ordered fried shrimp tacos and was mistakenly given fried fish tacos instead. Although I ate them, I did not enjoy them, and I was advised to contact management regarding a refund. Today, I returned and ordered 2 fried shrimp tacos. The first batch was saturated with the red hot sauce. Normally, the tacos come with a light drizzle of both the red and white sauces, but this time they were completely soaked and far too spicy to eat. I politely sent them back and asked for them to be remade. Unfortunately, the replacement tacos were just as disappointing because the shrimp was severely overcooked. It honestly seemed as though the original shrimp may have been re-battered and fried again. Considering your tacos cost around $6.95 each, I expect much better food quality and consistency. I want to also mention that the young man working the front counter was friendly and professional throughout the interaction, and I appreciate his attitude and customer service. However, the food quality has declined significantly compared to what it used to be. Because of these repeated issues, I am requesting a refund for the four shrimp tacos purchased today. I am very disappointed with my recent experiences and, unless things improve, I do not plan on returning. Thank you for your time, and I hope this matter can be resolved appropriately. read more

Visited for lunch today. After reading on yelp that there was parking in the back, I drove straight to the back (they have some limited parking in the front). Walked in the rear entrance and placed order at the counter. Nice, quick, friendly service. I joined the rewards on toast during the checkout process. Ordered a Cali Cowboy and Grilled Shrimp. Both were fresh and tasty! I wasn't sure which of the several fresh salsas to pair with my tacos. I went with the medium tomatillo (several available in the mild and hot categories). When the medium didn't have enough heat for me, I got the habanero salsa. GREAT flavor and not unbearably hot. Just perfect on both the shrimp & beef tacos. The shrimp could have been hotter, but the taco was still good & I would order again. The winner today was the Cali cowboy. The brisket had a nice bbq flavor, the avocado slices were perfectly ripe, the fresh jalapenos were crunchy, & the drizzle of crema sauce all made this taco my favorite!! Love the atmosphere. Stopped by after trying their location near Memorial Park-- the bright and colorful interior with big windows letting in the sunlight was really nice. And they had the garage door in the back open with the nicer weather :) they have a big menu including breakfast tacos until 2pm, nachos, quesadillas, bowls, poke/ceviche-- but we stuck with the mainstream-- tacos! Tortilla options include the usual flour and corn but also jicama (type of root veggie like a potato that reminds me of raw radish, and they're low carb/calorie). I think the jicama tortillas would be better warmed up instead of cold, since all our tacos (all with jicama!) felt lukewarm when they reached the table. We tried 5 tacos, with my favorites being the grilled mahi mahi and bang bang shrimp. The meat options we chose (KBBQ, pork banh mi, and carnitas ) were all quiteeee salty for me. The KBBQ flavor also doesn't taste like the traditional Korean bulgogi sauce, more of a Pei Wei style / overly sweet / overly salty version. However, the fish tacos (grilled Mahi mahi, bang bang shrimp) were not over salted and quite flavorful and enjoyable! The mahi was meaty and not overcooked or dry. They also did a great job catering towards customizations (no cilantro for specific tacos, jicama tortillas choice, etc.). I will stick with the fish options next time or go to their other location to see if the meat options are also super salty! Pay at the front and they'll bring you the food. There are self serve water and sauce stations, and service was friendly and accommodating. There's a small parking lot at the front and a larger one in the back! read more

Ceviche was good just really salty. Fresh made tortilla chips to go along and a prepared salsa bar. Overall was really good. Customer service was really nice and friendly. I would definitely go back. read more

I wanted to love this place. I like the name. I went in the middle of the afternoon so there was no one there. I just ordered tacos for takeout. The service was good, friendly people. I had a nice conversation while I waited for my tacos. The tacos were OK, but the portions were small for the price and the flavor was nothing special. I probably won't be back, but I ate everything. It wasn't terrible. I would give it 3 1/2 stars if I could. read more

Do yourself a favor and try these tacos! Seriously! But save yourself the headache and park in the back, the lot is good size! Husband and I ordered the Baja queso to start. The cheese was thick and had a good flavor. I feel like there should have been some jalapeños on top, like pictured on their site, as it looked pretty boring though. For my tacos, I got the surf and turf and the cali cowboy. Hands down, the cali cowboy was my favorite. The brisket was crispy and delicious. The surf and turf was good but true to fajita meat, the beef was chewy, but the shrimp was delish! I love they have the hot sauces already in containers so you can get what you want. I didn't find any of them to be terribly hot, not even the habanero, but it's ok because it would kill the flavor of the food. The staff was super cool, the place is super clean and bright, and they have a full bar. I will definitely be back! read more

Great experience, they really load up the tacos! The passion dragon drink is great and so is the habanero pico de gallo. The wait time is very quick and they deliver it to your table, and they have good live music on the outside patio. It could be a little cooler inside, but it's manageable. read more

Restaurant is 3 month old now. Right by Trader Joe's near Alabama and Shepherd Streets in Montrose. Manager, Carlos, super nice guy, came over to check on how we liked our food. All of it was excellent. We had four different tacos all exceptional. My fav is surf and turf on corn. They have an outdoor seating area that they plan to cover. Let me be pacific here don't eat here the food may arrive on time fresh and ready . But just like the east coast this place is bleeding like Hollywood . The food here isn't great at all the flavors aren't there and the flavors are not like what you're used to . They change up the menu so much that the cooks don't even know what ingredients is in the food . The staff here definitely have that cail vibe to em and ya just wanna show em don't mess with Texas and teach em a lesson or to . The prices here are wayyy too expensive for a bad taco . This is my go to taco spot inside the loop. The tacos are delicious with the perfect amount of spice and the best flavors. Also I absolutely love that they have two different kinds of flavored water as I'm not a big soda drinker. The staff are also so incredibly kind and helpful. Every time my fiancé and I have been (for breakfast and dinner) both food and service have been fantastic! First time to this location but I have been to the Sugarland Location. I love the tacos. Especially the fried shrimp tacos. The margaritas were great. I want this place to make it. The location is great, fantastic space, fantastic bar and fantastic outdoor space. The atmosphere needs some finesse to make it more inviting and more intimate. Service was fantastic. The restaurant itself was very clean and had the cutest design! Spacious and can accommodate a large crowd. You order at the counter as you walk in and they bring you the food at your table. The food came out relatively fast. 10/10 recommend the PCT Guac! It was some of the best I've had! My favorite taco was the Pork Bahn Mi by a landslide. Some honorable mentions were the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Grilled Fish. The bang bang shrimp had a nice crunchy batter and topped with a great sweet chili sauce. I got a frozen red sangria which was amazing! The Margs are strong but great! Got the classic and I would for sure get it again You must try this place!!!!! Definitely will be coming back read more

Absolutely amazing meal! We have driven by Pacific Coast Tacos multiple times, and finally decided to try it for lunch. The menu was varied and everything looked interesting, so we ordered more than we could eat to try multiple things. There was not a single item that was not stellar in flavor or presentation (the fries might have been the exception - they were good, but they were fries). Below is the list if items: - Chicken Wings (Buffalo sauce): Perfectly cooked and sauced. As it was a Tuesday, all Happy Hour items are available all day. Messy and wonderful. - Yellowfin Tuna Nachos: Exceptional. Fresh cubes of tuna and avocado served on a crispy fried wonton triangle, sauced with a chile lime aoli and honey wasabi. This is a Destination Dish. I would go back for this if even everything else had been mediocre! - Fried Shrimp Taco: Fresh, shrimp cooked perfectly, delicious. - Octopus Taco: Incredible. Beautifully grilled octopus slices on a jicama "tortilla", sauced, dressed with cabbage. - Loaded Poke Bowl: Superb! The only thing I would do differently with this is ask for more dressing - I could swim in it, it is so good! The dish is light, flavorful, cooling - the avocado providing just the right amount of creaminess to balance the fresh ahi tuna and cabbage, the rice just enough to give a blank canvas for it all to shine together. Again, SUPERB! - Pacific Ceviche: Some of the best, well-balanced ceviche we have had in a long time. The right amount of citrus, not overpowering, to augment the fresh flounder and shrimp, accompanied by freshly made and fried tortilla chips/totopos, a.k.a Mexican Backhoes. They provided the heft needed to handle the weight and moisture of the ceviche. The right amount of heat, though I like mine spicier. One can add heat and flavors with the varied salsas available for one's tacos/meals, everything from mild tomatillo to extremely hot habanero, served up in small containers in a refrigerated bar by the drinks. Pacific Tacos has a full bar for those who want to go for Happy Hour, or add a Margarita with their lunch. The place is light, airy, unfussy with good parking available in the back. We met the owner, Lincoln, who was very attentive and friendly, not just with us but with all who were dining there. We so appreciated his attention and interest in what everyone thought of his food. This is the third location for he and his wife. This will be a very successful restaurant if the quality and service continues. Style: order at the counter, take a flag to your table, food brought out as it is prepared so it is fresh. Some things come out faster than others, so be aware if you are stickler for your appies to get to the table before your mains. We did not mind in the least. We have yet to try the bar. This place was super clean in the staff was very friendly. I had the fish taco and the mahi-mahi taco. We also ordered the trio dip and my husband had the beef and chicken fajita taco. Everything was delicious if you can't tell by the empty plates we left behind.
