    New patio area

This review is LONG overdue. Summer 2020 we reached out to Pacific Concrete for a bid on TURF & CONCRETE in our new backyard (our yard was 100% dirt at the time). Our yard is sloped towards the house so we also were in need of some type of drainage to prevent flooding and foundation issues. Brandon was the first/only person to bid our yard who had a viable solution for this problem. Beyond that, he and his team were knowledgeable, worked quickly and efficiently, and did a great job! It's been about a year since everything was completed and it still looks great and has withstood the ultimate test (2 large dobermans who run, trample, wrestle, roll and more all over this turf)! We could not be more happy with the work Pacific Concrete did and will definitely be using them for any future needs we have.

I needed to extend my driveway, add a walkway and a sitting area along with two walls. I had several different quotes, but the guys at Pacific Concrete were the most responsive. Brandon had an open line of communication during the entire project. The workers were very quick, thorough and cleaned up every day. If you need any concrete work or hard scape give Pacific Concrete a call, you will not be disappointed.

It took me a while to review as I waited about a month for the concrete to settle and I must say that we are very happy with how the retaining wall and concrete turned out. I have hired other contractors in the past and these guys were very professional and took care of the work as promised. Additionally, they added a new wooden post to the outside fence, as the old wood was apparently rotten. They always responded when we had questions and was able to completely remove the metal fence. Everything was cleaned up after the work was done, which was appreciated. This is our first time using them and will definitely recommend to others.

Contacted Pacific Concrete during April 2021 after reading their very positive reviews on Yelp. Brandon, the owner, responded the next day to set up an appointment. Other contractors did not respond to my calls. Brandon was on time and very professional and knowledgeable. Even though my drive way job was relatively small, 460 sq feet, he approached it as if it was his most important contract. In addition to the concrete, I had about 150 LF of pavers placed between the poured slabs and in the existing joints of the original drive way. His subcontractor concrete cutter was superb. Brandon was extremely helpful in selecting the pavers and sent his crew to the manufactures location to pick them up. The pour site is not easily accessible, but Pacific's pumper crew and concrete truck made it look easy and all went very smoothly. I am extremely pleased with the completed project. His office manager, Becky, was always responsive to my calls and sent me the contract immediately. Kuddos to her for her role in my job!!! The overall price was very reasonable and a discount is given for cash payments!!! I highly recommend Pacific Concrete. They were very responsive to my schedule change requests, always on time and Brandon notified me of the scheduling of each phase of the work. You are making the right decision with choosing Pacific Concrete for you next concrete project. Mike P. La Mesa Ca

I worked directly with Pacific Concrete over a few months while completing my backyard. (Attached pictures). They rebuilt the concrete wall, poured around the pool and patio and so much more!! I love their work. You are not working with a huge company but a small local company. Brandon and Justin (the owners) and their crew are amazing. I remember them siting at the bottom of the driveway waiting for the sun to rise, just so they can start working on my project. They are extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. They respect your property and listen to opinions. I would highly recommend working with them. They are a pleasure. The owners are in constant contact with you. I asked them for a few "favors" not part of the project, and without hesitation they helped.

we had a 1000 ft.² patio designed and poured. Their professionalism and craftsmanship is outstanding. I highly recommend them. I will definitely have them back for more work.

Spectacular!! We had Pacific Concrete come out to redo our backyard, we wanted to add some more drainage as well as turf. I called and spoke to Becky to set up a consultation and Brandon came out and gave us a great quote. He even recommended a great screen company (Torpin Screen Comapny) to come out to place screens on our windows so the sun wouldn't harm the turf. The guys that came and did the drainage, as well as the team that came and installed the turf, were awesome! Such hardworking guys that really take pride in their work. They even hid the drainage spots under the turf which is awesome because I don't have to worry about my dogs catching their paws on it or anything. Really we did this for them, and let's just say that they are VERY happy! 10/10 highly recommend Pacific Concrete!

Professional, friendly & a great job done! From the initial quote to finishing the job it was smooth sailing. Communication was easy! The guys that worked on our place were friendly and hardworking! We had them install new white rock for us as well as build a back fence. In the front they extended our driveway, made a new walkway, new planter and the concrete steps from the street. We love it and are already having them give us another quote for more upgrades to our home! Go with them, you'll be glad you did!

Justin and his Pacific Concrete crew proved to be the right choice for us. Down to earth interactions, easy to schedule, knowledgeable answers to all our questions and on time for all appointments and work days. We had a 88"x88" slab poured in our yard for a hot tub platform. They also helped clear the area around the slab and dug trenches for electrical. They made it look easy. The entire crew on site were professional, respectful and polite, always available to share and answer our questions thoughout the day. We will have no problem checking with Justin first for any similar projects in the future. Thanks everyone!

We worked with Brandon on a backyard remodel this past winter when he was with another company. He's since moved to full time at Pacific Concrete, and we chose them for our front yard project after having such a great experience with him on the back. He's a really quick and clear communicator and I felt really confident he understood our vision. We did get another quote and he was competitively priced and able to show us the differences so we could understand and be sure to get everything exactly as we wanted it. Aside from Brandon as the project lead, the on-site teams for both concrete pour & turf install were professional, friendly and easy to review details with onsite. Santiago & Pasqual are the best! Past that, I think the pictures speak for themselves! Highly recommend Pacific Concrete.

Really liked the colored concrete with the added finish

Just hired Pacific Concrete to demo and replace stairs at a home in Sherman Heights. Brandon gave us ideas to configure the steps and landing, as well as repair and stucco over a block wall. They even added a saw cut for a channel drain in the back yard. They accomplished the job as promised, and it came out looking even better than expected. And here's the kicker...because we were out of town, the other owner Justin, stopped by to water down the work they just did to ensure the curing process continued properly. Would hire this company again in a heartbeat. Well done!

Chip in concrete supposed to be fixed with coating.

I write this review, honestly with a heavy heart. As PACIFIC CONCRETES customer service was great, and the man in charge , JUSTIN, couldn't have been nicer..... right up until the end. Unfortunately, the workmanship and professionalism of his crew fell considerably short. Justin was great communicator and very friendly. My neighbors were using PACIFIC CONCRETE as well and as a result, they were my only bid. (Admittedly my bad) My journey with this company started in beginning March 2020. Right at the beginning of COVID. This is why its taken so long for me to put this review. I wanted to give JUSTIN and PACIFIC CONCRETE the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time to fix their mistakes as Justin and his crew had the best of intentions. First, the concrete was poured just days after the rains in March, while the soil was still very wet. I was led to believe this would not affect the process. As a result, the concrete appeared very discolored, had numerous small quarter sized indentations and had a very uneven appearance. Additionally, the day they poured the concrete the crew rolled my trash cans over the freshly poured concrete to get into my back yard. As a result, wheel marks were set in the concrete. JUSTIN assured me given time, the discoloration in the concrete and the wheel marks would disappear. Accordingly, I waited until Mid June. As time passed and June approached most of the wheel marks were still present in the concrete; the discoloration and the uneven dried appearance were still very apparent. From when the job was completed in March to Mid-June, I updated Justin with pictures. He was very good with communication and agreed the appearance was unacceptable. In Mid-June, Justin and his co-worker evaluated the concrete in person and agreed they had made a mistake and the appearance was unacceptable. To my surprise, they also agreed to remedy it. To their credit they gave me an option of redoing the concrete or putting a coating on the concrete to correct the appearance and indentations. Being assured me the concrete was perfectly stable, some personal circumstances and the fact Justin had been so accommodating, my wife and I decided on the coating option. That was our mistake. The coating was placed approximately at the beginning of July, without the small dents being fixed as we had agreed. By the end of August the coating was was chipping in numerous places and the tiny indentations were getting bigger. From that point on JUSTIN as been missing. I've attempted to contact him by phone from Mid September to November 1st many times with all attempts being ignored. This is my fist yelp review as I typically move on from any bad experience with a business by not giving said business any more patronage. I complete this review because getting concrete poured is a complicated and very expensive endeavor and I don't want people to make the same mistake I did. I went with PACIFIC CONCRETE because JUSTIN was such an awesome person to deal with. PACIFIC CONCRETES final product, their craftsmanship as a business is not quality. Pictures on social media are taken immediately after a job. Ask to see pictures of completed jobs after some passage of time. Make sure their work is up to your standards. I made a this important decision based on personal feelings rather than treating it like business. I know that's my mistake. Finally, I would recommend JUSTIN to work for my business as he'd been a great person to deal with for the most part, which is why this is a two star review instead of a no star review. I just wouldn't recommend PACFIC CONCRETE for any concrete needs. Everyone has different experiences with companies. My neighbor and I didn't have a good experience with PACIFIC CONCRETE. BE CAREFUL and don't be fooled by the personality. Be certain of their ability to deliver a quality job before going with them. Because, if I had to do it over again, I would make a different choice.

    Jennifer M.

Brandon, Justin, Pasqual and the rest of the crew at Pacific Concrete are AWESOME! They were very professional, efficient and thorough with their work. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the outcome as a client. The communication was excellent; always showed up when they said they would and kept us in the know regarding next phases of our project. We absolutely love the design of our backyard and are excited to entertain our family & friends! We would hire Pacific Concrete again and highly recommend them!

Andrew H. came to my property on August 13, 2025, to give me a quote for installing pavers throughout my backyard. I explained very clearly that my number one requirement was correcting the slope so that rainwater would no longer flow toward my home. This was confirmed as a priority after multiple inspections from roof gutter companies and landscapers. I was scheduled to be out of town for five weeks, and I initially planned to wait until I got back. But Andrew assured me multiple times that they regularly work while homeowners are away, that everything would be monitored, and that I would return to a finished project done correctly in less than a week. Based on that reassurance, I agreed to let the project begin while I was gone. That decision turned into a nightmare. Project Problems From Day 1: Before work even began, I asked them to cover certain areas to prevent damage during concrete removal. 9/9/25: - Their vendor dropped pallets of pavers directly in front of my garage, completely blocking access. - The crew then said their wheelbarrows couldn't fit through the side gate because of how the AC unit was positioned. Andrew attempted to charge me $1,000 to move the AC the next day or $500 to do it on Saturday. - Andrew then insisted they could access the yard through my garage instead. I told him that was impossible due to the size of the wheelbarrows and the narrow door. He argued it would work and scheduled the job for September 13. Because of all this, I had to end my trip early, driving back from Northern California with my dogs on short notice. 9/12/25: When I checked my cameras, I saw the workers using the same wheelbarrows they said wouldn't fit and they did use the side gate anyway. When I got home, I saw: - My side gate pulled apart - My AC unit pushed up against the wall and held by a large rock None of this was discussed or approved. Andrew, who had been very present during the quote process, was nowhere to be found during the actual work. I ended up dealing with Jose (his manager?) instead. Even the lead worker, Eric, confirmed that the wheelbarrows never would have fit through the garage exactly what I had said from the beginning. And to make things worse, because their pallets blocked my garage, I couldn't have moved my car for 2 weeks. 9/17-18/25: - Rain water flows inside the garage because pavers were installed higher than door step. Their resolution was to put a a small circular drain in front of the door. 9/25/25: They "finished" the job, but the list of issues was long: - The side gate wouldn't open because they installed the pavers too high (they trimmed down the gate to resolve). - Polymeric sand was not installed correctly: it was patchy, missing in several areas. - My sliding door track was damaged from concrete debris and sand, even though I repeatedly asked them to cover it. - Worst of all: the paver grade was installed HIGHER than the threshold of my garage side door, exactly what I told them NOT to do. This means water gets trapped and pushed inside my garage; this was the entire problem I hired them to fix. The small drain did not do anything. It rained again from 11/15 - 11/21/25, and the water issues persist to this day. The most important part of the project and the reason I did it at all was not resolved. Andrew keeps mentioning that I need to have rain gutters installed, but I had them before and I know that it was not the issue. I had multiple vendors come out again for sanity check to tell me that gutters won't solve the drainage issue. From the misleading reassurances, to the damage to my property, to the poor workmanship, to the complete lack of accountability, this has been one of the worst contractor experiences I've ever had. I cannot recommend Rock N Block. I trusted them with an important project, and instead I'm left with new problems, unresolved issues, and property damage.
