What it lacks in decor, it makes it up in good food at a good price. My huge 3 egg veggie omelette was stuffed with spinach, red peppers diced finely (yes!) and fresh mushrooms. I was more than pleased. Hubby was happy with his 2 egg breakfast and a side of hotcakes. The hotcakes were fluffy and light. (I don't know why but many breakfast places manage to screw up hotcakes). Anyway, I have to warn that they do cut some corners such as an off brand non-dairy creamer. They did have Smuckers jam but also an off-brand Strawberry jam that I tried and didn't care for. I almost hate to post this review since I do not like overcrowded places. Pacific Diner is a gem. Incredible, friendly service with great diner food at reasonable prices. I've been wanting to try this place for a couple years and always talked myself out of it. So now I've tried it for breakfast and can say I wasn't impressed at all. It was betwixt Pacific Diner and the one across the street. They both have great ratings and today we chose Pacific because it has 1/2 star more. It was not too busy and Emelia was our server. I think we found a new place! It was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff is always nice. The food is ok. My problem is the portions are soooo small for how much you pay. They're charging $15 for 0.75 worth of food. There's this place omelette house on Boulder and lake Mead and the food is good, and portions are appropriate for the price. Portuguese Sausage was very greasy, the scrambled eggs were good, but tasted heavily of butter, and the rice wasn't sticky as much as mushy. New family owned diner for us in old Henderson, reminds me of Boulder City.... I understand they are moving though....for sake of the business, I think that would be a good idea( get some more traffic... Chicken Fried Steak meal meat was on point/ gravy was bland though.... I came to old Henderson for a Comedy Acting class. After my son and I were hungry and hit up Pacific for some late breakfast. I ordered the ham steak and eggs and it was cooked as I ordered. The quality of the food is excellent. I had steak and eggs and my beautiful wife had Steak Ham sand eggs. The seasoned potatoes are perfectly cooked (no left over grease) Eggs were the same. Pancake is good size as well. Mary F served us and she is the best server ever! Very attentive she kept our coffee warm at all times, brought us napkins without asking and constantly came to our table to make sure things were good. The ambiance is family oriented and wholesome. There was a group from Solders of Jesus and I loved how they prayed, thank God for their food, prayed for those who prepared it and have thanks for their blessings. We thought we'd give this place a try for our Saturday hangout. It is new, local, and I prefer to support local small businesses. The menu has one of my favorite breakfast offerings, biscuits and gravy which includes 2-eggs of choice, and bacon or sausage. What could go wrong, right. The biscuits were absolutely perfect. A slight crunch on the outside and unbelievably light on the inside. Not gummy or doughy. The eggs and sausage links were also cooked perfectly while the hash browns were slightly overcooked. The reason for the 3 stars was the time it took to be served and the gravy, eggs. hash browns and sausage were cold. If it were afb established restaurant I would have given a single star. It has left a horrible taste in my mouth and neither of us ate it out fear it would make us sick. We were supposed to get hash browns with our order per the woman taking our order over the phone and we didn't. When I called the restaurant to give my feedback the manager said the hash browns were in the corned beef. I will never eat here again. Manager didn't even speak with me regarding my order. Poor service and bad food. However, the woman answering the phone was very pleasant. To be transparent, we did eat the eggs and biscuit. Hidden jewel. It's just off Waters street next to the Gun Shop. The interior is clean and bright. There's red and black booths and tables to sit and quite comfy. The floors are polished cement, which I happen to love We were greeted by the hostess which was a warm and friendly "Hi! welcome". She sat us and asked for are drinks. Brought them out immediately. Shortly after the waitress came to take our order. We ordered breakfast, which came out with full plates and the food was cooked to perfection. The food was plenty and we didn't have a long wait. I really liked all I ordered. It was cooked and tasted just like I would do at home. We came a few days later for lunch. We both ordered Patty Melts but with different requests. The sandwiches came out just as ordered and tasted amazing. Look, this is a small "hometown" let's seat and talk forever kinda place. And I love it. I received a 20% off coupon for Pacific Diner in the Value Pak mailer. I decided today was as good a day as any to give them a try. I knew going in that I was going to order corned beef hash. It is one of the few breakfasts I like to order from a diner. Usually I just get a burger from such places. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. They asked me to sit at the table right behind me next to the entrance. No problem. It was a comfy window seat booth with the warm sun coming in through the blinds. The table could have been washed better but it wasn't exactly dirty. So there I sat waiting for somebody to take my order. I sat for a few minutes before one of the hostesses finally came by to ask if I wanted anything to drink. A short time later the waitress came to take my order. As I waited for my meal I over heard a gentleman at another table send back his breakfast. He complained to the hostess that the eggs were undercooked. He even told the waitress and she laughed thinking he was joking. He was not. I thought he was making a bigger deal out of this than was necessary. He was not. My food came up soon. The corned beef hash was, how to put this, different. It was like shoestring fries with some strips of corned beef which looked like it was cut from what would go on a reuben sandwich. I am used to diced meat or shredded when I get hash. Not lunch meat. The "seasoned" potatoes on the side were enjoyable though they are really a redundancy with this kind of a meal. I'm not sure I would call them seasoned. They had maybe a dash of seasoning salt. That was about it. The biscuit, yet another carb, was probably the best thing on the plate. The worst things were the eggs without a doubt. Like the older gentleman who was my table neighbor, my egg were undercooked. Significantly so. I odered over easy. These were never turned over. They were barely even cooked to sunny side up. The whites weren't even fully set! The tops were as runny as the yolk. Yuck! I probably should have sent mine back but I am not the kind that likes to send food back. So I ate it and now I pray I don't get sick. Aside from the food being sub par, the atmosphere here is not fabulous. Its dark inside. The lights were on but it still seemed dark. It felt cold and almost industrial with the concrete floor. The decor on the walls, very Nevada-centric, was kind of cool. Part crafty. Part kitschy. Service was alright. Friendly hostess. Slow but friendly waitress with some off color jokes which I was not offended by but felt were inappropriate for a family restaurant. This does not rank in the top of my diner experiences. If I do decide to give Pacific Diner another try, it will not be for another breakfast. I would be willing to try a burger on a future visit. I don't want to write off someplace until I give them a second chance. First impressions go a long way though. read more
