It opened in Downtown Henderson's Water Street District as a family-owned restaurant, and I like that there's some actual history and community involvement behind the place. The owners even stepped up during COVID and opened a food pantry to help local families. Inside, it has a definite old-school UNLV/Rebels kind of vibe mixed with classic diner charm. The menu also has a little Hawaiian flair sprinkled in, reflecting the owners' love for Hawaii, with things like loco moco, an island breakfast and Huli-Huli chicken alongside the traditional diner favorites. This was my second visit, and the food has been very good both times. Today I had an egg-white veggie omelet and added chicken. It was really tasty, loaded with vegetables and cooked well. On my first visit I had the tuna sandwich, which is something restaurants manage to screw up surprisingly often, but theirs was delicious. My buddy ordered a double cheeseburger and fries, and the burger looked amazing. I got to steal a few fries and can confirm those were very good too. One of the best parts of Pacific Diner is the staff. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant, personable and genuinely fun to talk to. They happily answered our questions and had that friendly, caring personality you hope to find in a neighborhood diner. Prices are also very reasonable, especially compared with what breakfast and lunch cost at a lot of places these days. The one thing to be aware of is parking. This part of Downtown Henderson can get busy, and there are several nearby lots where you are NOT allowed to park unless you're visiting those particular businesses, with towing signs posted. If the street spaces immediately around the diner are full, just plan on spending a few minutes looking for a legal spot nearby. Overall, Pacific Diner has tasty food, good prices, genuinely friendly service and a lot more personality than your average breakfast place. We'll definitely be back again. read more

Pacific Diner is a next level 50s diner. The food here is incredible. The owners are wonderful and hard-working, as is their server staff. The burger tastes like I grilled it on the BBQ in the backyard. And the brioche bun elevates the whole thing. The chicken sandwich has crispy bacon and is a good portion. I would really only recommend this please to the older folks it gives up a very grandma and grandpa restaurant. The service is good The girls are very, very nice. They sent us down for us and then we got our food pretty fast. BUT when I got the food it was burnt the hashbrowns, my eggs even the bottom pieces of my toast my husband food wasn't. As I like to say it's not how it look it's how it taste but I'm sorry to say the taste just wasn't there The more restaurants I go to it just seemed the chef does not take pride in the food that they cook anymore because how are you going to serve one person with non-burnt food and the other person with burnt food and think you're proud of the food that you just served to your paying customers. Decided to visit on a trip to the Emerald Island casino as it is just a small walk away it is a nice local diner with an interior larger than I would have originally expected. I arrived around lunch time there was only a couple other patrons and I was welcomed in by the staff. The server was very attentive if not a bit over attentive consistently checking if I needed anything or wanted more coffee which meant I had as much coffee as I wanted and I had a lot since it is pretty tasty. As for the food itself I ordered a stack of the banana walnut pancakes with strawberries & whipped cream and in a combo with eggs, sausage and garlic potatoes. The food was good I enjoyed the garlic potatoes a lot and the pancakes were also decent however not much of a banana flavor was to be found unfortunately. I did walk away satisfied with my meal and not finishing all of it due to the large portion of the pancakes the only real sticking point was the cost prior to tip being close to $28 which is a bit much for breakfast although I ordered one of the pricier items but making coffee or any other drink $4 is pricey compared to similar breakfast/brunch establishments. As compared to the emerald island grille which I view as the closest competitor pacific diner is better in quality their coffee alone is way better than anything at Emerald however the cost is much higher especially for most breakfast items where the cost is double that of the same item at Emerald. Overall I would recommend trying this place out and I will return to try some of the other menu items I am interested in. read more

Came in for breakfast with a day spent hanging out with my parents. It wasn't busy on this Friday morning but it wasn't empty either. There were a good amount of people dining in. The restaurant is cute and pretty clean, so it was nice to be inside. I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the lighting but not every place can have big ole windows for natural light. This actually gave the place a midwestern-y feel, like diners in Kansas. Our server was great. She checked in on us a lot and gave us updates as to when stuff was coming out. She really made us feel at home and I appreciated that. The food was super good. My western omelet was one of the best I've had in a while, super cheesy and cooked to perfection. The hashbrowns tasted a little like old/burnt oil, but they were perfectly crispy. My dad got the steak and eggs and he let me have a little bite of steak. Excellent! Being greeted at the door by a friendly smiling person, escorted to a place to sit, given a run down on what's available today and having your drink order appear before you seem a normal practice here. Good, clean and spacious area with an old timey feel with plenty of memorabilia posted all around will catch your eye. Menu features good solid food items, served well prepared and hot. My meal was very tasty and plentiful. Servers were diligent about bringing refills and providing any wanted condiments. A plentiful, good meal was enjoyed at a reasonable price for these times. I had higher hopes and was a little let down. But, the food was still decent. We ordered Pacific Diner on a lazy weekend and received it quickly and while it was still warm. I'm a huge potato person and was excited for this part of my breakfast specifically. Come to find out they were most likely frozen previously and really had no seasoning. Ketchup helped. The fries were the same, no seasoning and pretty bland. My eggs were cooked a perfect over easy! And my Bacon was crispy and yum. My biscuits and gravy, were okay. But nothing that stood out. This is a little nostalgic diner with great food that has been around for many years on Pacific in the Water Street Business district. It is locally owned and operated and the staff here are very friendly. They will be moving to the apartments that are being built across from the Lifeguard Arena in January.
