Pacific Diner is a next level 50s diner. The food here is incredible. The owners are wonderful and hard-working, as is their server staff. The burger tastes like I grilled it on the BBQ in the backyard. And the brioche bun elevates the whole thing. The chicken sandwich has crispy bacon and is a good portion. Decided to visit on a trip to the Emerald Island casino as it is just a small walk away it is a nice local diner with an interior larger than I would have originally expected. I arrived around lunch time there was only a couple other patrons and I was welcomed in by the staff. The server was very attentive if not a bit over attentive consistently checking if I needed anything or wanted more coffee which meant I had as much coffee as I wanted and I had a lot since it is pretty tasty. As for the food itself I ordered a stack of the banana walnut pancakes with strawberries & whipped cream and in a combo with eggs, sausage and garlic potatoes. The food was good I enjoyed the garlic potatoes a lot and the pancakes were also decent however not much of a banana flavor was to be found unfortunately. I did walk away satisfied with my meal and not finishing all of it due to the large portion of the pancakes the only real sticking point was the cost prior to tip being close to $28 which is a bit much for breakfast although I ordered one of the pricier items but making coffee or any other drink $4 is pricey compared to similar breakfast/brunch establishments. As compared to the emerald island grille which I view as the closest competitor pacific diner is better in quality their coffee alone is way better than anything at Emerald however the cost is much higher especially for most breakfast items where the cost is double that of the same item at Emerald. Overall I would recommend trying this place out and I will return to try some of the other menu items I am interested in. read more

Came in for breakfast with a day spent hanging out with my parents. It wasn't busy on this Friday morning but it wasn't empty either. There were a good amount of people dining in. The restaurant is cute and pretty clean, so it was nice to be inside. I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the lighting but not every place can have big ole windows for natural light. This actually gave the place a midwestern-y feel, like diners in Kansas. Our server was great. She checked in on us a lot and gave us updates as to when stuff was coming out. She really made us feel at home and I appreciated that. The food was super good. My western omelet was one of the best I've had in a while, super cheesy and cooked to perfection. The hashbrowns tasted a little like old/burnt oil, but they were perfectly crispy. My dad got the steak and eggs and he let me have a little bite of steak. Excellent! If you enjoy the old style Main Street dining experience, Pacific Diner is your place to eat. Being greeted at the door by a friendly smiling person, escorted to a place to sit, given a run down on what's available today and having your drink order appear before you seem a normal practice here. Good, clean and spacious area with an old timey feel with plenty of memorabilia posted all around will catch your eye. Menu features good solid food items, served well prepared and hot. My meal was very tasty and plentiful. Servers were diligent about bringing refills and providing any wanted condiments. A plentiful, good meal was enjoyed at a reasonable price for these times. I will be bringing my friends and family along to enjoy the relative quiet and efficient experience. I believe this diner will remain high on my list of favorites for a long time. read more

Started the table with fresh brewed coffee and waters. I'm sure it gets busy as the later in the morning it gets. We got there 10 minutes to 8 and barely anyone was there- one customer and us plus the friendly staff. Food was quick and very enjoyable 15/10. We shared a chocolate chip pancake. My husband and I wanted to try Pacific Diner as we've read a lot of recommendations on this restaurant. It's open for breakfast/brunch and lunch. There wasn't a wait, we were seated quickly in a booth. (We were asked if we wanted a booth or table). Upon perusing the menu and while drinking our coffee for me and Diet Pepsi for my husband, we decided it would be breakfast for us. I ordered the French toast breakfast and my husband ordered the two eggs breakfast with bacon, hash browns and white toast. Our waitress was awesome! She was funny and attentive. We went during the week for brunch so the wait was long bad - lots of open seats. Not pictured was delicious biscuits & gravy that had the perfect aftertaste and pepper. Service was great - quantities of food were huge and the quality was A+. The eggs seemed they may be egg beaters and really that and the thin texture of bacon would be where they lose a star. I had higher hopes and was a little let down. But, the food was still decent. We ordered Pacific Diner on a lazy weekend and received it quickly and while it was still warm. I'm a huge potato person and was excited for this part of my breakfast specifically. Come to find out they were most likely frozen previously and really had no seasoning. Ketchup helped. The fries were the same, no seasoning and pretty bland. My eggs were cooked a perfect over easy! And my Bacon was crispy and yum. My biscuits and gravy, were okay. But nothing that stood out. I ordered 2 of the 2 egg breakfasts and 2 sides of hashbrowns. The eggs were overcooked, the bacon was burnt, and the most inedible part were the hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were so hard and greasy. When you take a bite all you taste is burnt dirty oil. The only thing that was edible was the toast. I had to throw the rest of the food away. After a hike, we stopped here for breakfast. Boith of us decided to have the loco moco. It's been a while and I was in need of some body fuel. Their loco moco has the rice on the bottom in a thin layer, then the beef patty topped with gravy, and finally topped with two eggs cooked the way you want. We both opted for eggs sunny side up. When the meal came, I was pleased that it wasn't one of the huge 808 breakfasts often served. It was just the right amount of food. Service was very good with our server bringing me coffee as needed. The reason why my husband walked towards the kitchen, not crossing the line of going into the kitchen was so that we can save your employees the time and effort in making our food, food that we had just ordered. We did that out of respect for your establishment and your employees. We had issues with the server who unfortunately started screaming out of the top of her lungs and that's how come everyone else got involved! They were rude and I would love to see that video if you could please post it so that people here can judge before you defend your rude and unprofessional employees. Breakfast with our good friends and neighbors once a month...... decided to try Pacific Diner. There were four of us. The portions were large, the prices very reasonable. I ordered a breakfast burrito. Could only eat half. The rest went home with me for another day. Their house made green salsa is delicious. We all asked for it on the side. The coffee was free flowing. Everyone enjoyed their food. The servers were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant interior was clean and open (lots of space between tables). We were never rushed although we probably sat there for two hours talking. We all agreed we would return when craving a good 'ol diner style breakfast. This place is much bigger on the inside than the outside! We arrived early on a Sunday morning and was sat right away. The hostess and our server were both very kind. This is a little nostalgic diner with great food that has been around for many years on Pacific in the Water Street Business district. It is locally owned and operated and the staff here are very friendly. They will be moving to the apartments that are being built across from the Lifeguard Arena in January.
