It's my second time visiting this authentic Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan cuisine and Northeastern Chinese cuisine. We ordered a variety of dishes and we enjoyed a lot. It was not very busy when we got to the restaurant, so the service was fast. My top favorite dishes here: Hunan dried bamboo and bacon: very flavorful dish with different layers of textures. Stinky tofu: it's one of my favorite kinds of street food, but not many people in love with the smell. It's crispy outside and juicy inside. A little hot kick flavor in the sauce too~ Hot & sour shredded potato: texture was spot on, and it was good balance between hot and sour flavor. Sesame wide noodle: really liked the wide noodle texture, and sesame sauce paired well with some of the spicy food we got

I ordered dinner this week, and got the Singapore Noodles and spicy wings. I noticed they have since reopened the dining room area and it is no longer just to go orders. My previous experiences here have been pretty good to great. This visit was more along average. My noodles had a lot of curry powder and i had to add water to my dish to make it palatable. The spicy chicken wings were pretty good. This visit was not as good as previous experiences, but it was still decent and was quick and easy.

黑椒鲜菌牛肉粒最好吃!牛肉粒和王子菇粒先炸再炒,加了一些香料,辣椒。微辣的口感刚好好 Black Pepper Beef and mushroom taste really good. Deep fried beef stir fry with mushroom, spice and sesame, it taste spicy but totally delicious. 湘爆脆鱼肚相比之下就太辣了,是我这个广东人吃不了的辣 Stir Fried Crispy Catfish is too spicy that I couldn't afford 小鸡炖蘑菇味道还行,但我个人不喜欢吃。鸡肉太碎了,粉条太多了,幸亏把粉条捞出来,不然越吃越多 Service is not that good. I came here on Saturday noon and they are too busy, only a man served us, not giving us water and chopsticks until we requested it. He is walking around, cleaning other tables while I really need help. 周六中午来吃,店员太忙了,筷子也没给我们,水也没给我们。后来叫了店员才给了我们东西,但是叫店员过来这个过程真的太费劲了

Spicy! Really a good match with bowls of rice. My friends brought me there, and every dishes we tried were amazing.

If you're looking for orange chicken or general tso pork that you would normally get at your local corner Chinese take-out place, please do me a favor and DO NOT COME HERE. I had the pleasure of meeting Russ, whom I'm told by my friend who took me is the go-to guy to get daily recommendations. He also hinted that he may or may not speak best English so that always helps.. To be fair, he was the only one in the hall the day I went so it's not like I can compare.. ;-) I'm told there are two menus. For obvious reasons, I got the "better" menu, which even for me, someone who spends a decent amount of time studying every menu possible, there were a lot of items that sounded unfamiliar. That may be because I don't read Chinese 100%, and the English translations didn't quite connect the dots for me. There's a good chance that I'm perfectly familiar with listed cuisines but just didn't recognize them. Nonetheless, we went ahead and asked Russ to recommend three dishes between the three of us. My friends are frequent visitors, so he made sure that he didn't recommend anything they'd had in their past few visits. Spicy aorta dish and the Shiitake mushroom green dish were the two he recommended, and I had my eyes set on Spicy Hunan pork. Aorta dish was the one that worried my friends a bit, but it turned out to be possibly the best dish of the three, not that the other two were bad. Shiitake green dish was very similar to the usual Chinese broccoli dish I often get at other places, but with VERY NICE addition of shiitake mushrooms. Cooked to perfection, of course. The Hunan pork dish was as great as they come, the only regret being they don't serve the dish with steamed buns as some very selective restaurants do. (Russ also agreed that they should start serving steamed bun) But the spicy aorta dish was the one that had the most complex combination of sauce. I couldn't get over how many different flavors I could taste, but how they all come together to make a perfectly balanced sauce. With such strong seasons like mala, garlic, cilantro, chili peppers, black peppers, etc. etc. it was amazing to see it come together so well. Aorta, if you've never had it, is an interesting protein with very interesting texture for your chewing sensation. Medium softness--sort of like al dente pasta--where you have to bite into the semi-soft surface to get to the meaty chewiness. I can see it being a hit or a miss depending on how familiar or open minded you are about these types of texture. For me, it was super delicious. I'm excited to have discovered this place, and cannot wait to bring my family down to try many of the other offerings.

If I could give this restaurant a 11/10 I would! I will never forget this meal, it was some of the best food I have ever had! I love different kinds of food, but chinese food has always been my favorite. This place serves Americanized dishes and as well as traditional dishes. I went when my sister and we wanted to try this place out. We went with the traditional menu, it has english on it. We got the pork belly with pepper stir fry, beef and celery stir fry and garlic chinese water spinach( I think that is what it is called). I love everything we ate, both beef dishes were spicy but flavorful ( not too spicy it was perfect). I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE EXPERIENCE. The service was amazing, the food came out in like than 10 minutes and they were so kind. I had so much fun and I ate so much food! You should give this place a try. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is very nice and cozy. The food is fantastic! I can't wait until I get to go again!

New potstickers likely from a bag. Slightly burnt.

I never leave reviews but I have to note the place has new owners and though they kept the same Chinese-American menu in name all the items taste vastly different for the worse. After tasting the hot and sour soup i get a distinct taste of dishwater so ive had to move this from two stars to one. The potstickers are sad. The pork in the kung pao pork is inedible. Gotta toss this and order something else. Really disappointing. To say something positive they do have a new and different authentic Chinese menu that hopefully draws in people they lose on the Chinese American side.

Stinky Tofu, Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork, Rock Beef Tongue, A-Choy

Lucky to have a Mandarin speaking friend who was able to request the non-Americanized menu. Splurged and got spicy beef tongue, sweet and sour pork, stinky tofu, and a-choy. Both meat dishes were some of my favorites I've had in this city. Could tell the stinky tofu was a good quality, but will need to have again before it is in my taste. Unfortunate that many people are unaware of the different menu that seems to be much higher quality than the Chinese-American one displayed on the website.

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

We ordered the dry pot lamb spine, but the portion was very small, and the lamb was extremely fatty to the point that it was barely edible, especially for $22.99. The shredded Potato was $12.99 and also a very small portion. The boiled fish was okay, but honestly the only dish we were truly satisfied with was the fried noodles we ordered for the kids. Overall, it was not what I hoped for, and I would not come back again.

We were greeted and seated quickly and service was very friendly. As we were hungry, we took a mi Ute to decide what to order. We had planned on storm fish, but made a last minute decision to Sichuan sliced beef (we loveeee a numbing pepper!) with starts of egg roll and spicy wontons. Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
