This place is right out of 1969- quite literally a rock music museum that happens to sell ice cream. The ice cream was Tillamook brand with several flavor choices. I opted for the apple pie. Mine was a bit on the undercooked doughy crust side on the bottom, but tasty. I hope this place stays its quirky self.

Cute, small ice cream shop in downtown Pacific Grove owned by a kind, chatty older gent. The shop is jam-packed with amazing Beatles, 50s, and 60's memorabilia. He serves only Tillamook, yum! He made the most refreshing strawberry malt for me.

Ice cream itself wasn't bad, but the guy was diabolical.

The owner is so rude and hates the general population. The dusty atmosphere is actually quite dangerous when it comes to eating. It's like the dingiest flea market setting on the planet. Yes, the Beatles are cool, but having hundreds of dirty items near ice cream is absolutely not ideal or safe. The ice cream is likely contaminated. I will be reaching out to the health department.

Super cool little spot for a sweet treat! Fresh waffle cones with antique waffle maker and tons of unique flavors of Ice cream. Old timer behind the counter was friendly! Would come back 5/5

So... We were excited to come here. 6 hour drive from socal, And the place was pretty cool! .... BUT... the older gentleman was not in the best mood. We asked for a double scoop half and half and he said he doesn't do that, then slammed the cup on the counter in front of me with my child. He then apologized at the register saying it was past his bedtime which was nice of him to but that doesn't change the fact it happened. But the reason I'm writing this review is because another customer came in right behind us and asked for a double scoop half and half and he did it and looked at me like he knew it was wrong. He is older so I understand frustration of being 9pm and "past his bedtime" but then he should close the shop at 8pm. I just hope he sees this and should give half and half for every customer, not just as he feels... especially for $10 when you can go to the store to get Tillamook ice cream.

No vegan ice cream but transported back to the 1970s by the decor and music

Loved the decor! By the time it was our turn in line we've already determined they didn't have vegan ice cream. Lots of fun to be looking around though.

Cute little hole in the wall. Has a variety of flavors. Loud 60's music and hippy like decor. The associate is a very nice man.

We waited about 20 minutes to get inside, but once we reached the counter, the ordering process was quick and efficient. The shop itself is pretty small, but there's outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your ice cream nearby. They had so many unique flavors that it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the Kids Cookie Dough, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly sweet and absolutely packed with cookie dough pieces, every bite had some. My husband ordered the Apple Pie flavor, and it was just as delicious. The balance of cinnamon and apple was spot on without either flavor overpowering the other. Now we understand why there's always a line. If we're back in the Monterey area, we'll definitely be stopping by again!

The honey comb is in large chunks so it brought a great texture throughout the scoop. You can also get unique toppings such as a melted marshmallow or more honey comb. I liked the bees knees but next time I think I will get a split scoop so I can try another flavor. Line is long but it also moves fast. Unfortunately you are not allowed to sample flavors but the girl working said they are always happy to make a new scoop for you if you don't like the flavor you received.

But the gold rush is also my go to since I don't like chocolate anything. The sea salt and caramel mix is so well with the whipped cream and ice cream. Some people (like me) were given a buzzer thing that was supposed to let you know when your ice cream was ready to pick up at a separate counter. Some people where just asked their names and their names were called when their order was ready. Unfortunately, the person taking my order forgot to enter it into the computer system until I asked if my buzzer thing was working because it had taken an awfully long time to get a simple small shake. If you are able to find a seat outside at the rear of the store overlooking Monterey Bay the view is awesome, but there is not much of a view from inside seating nor the courtyard seating in the front of the store. They need an assigned person to patrol both inside and outside eating and seating areas since there is such a high volume of customers, the eating and seating surfaces need to be better cleaned. The shake was OK, nothing spectacular and it was less ice cream than milky (I saw them adding liquid to the ice cream machine just before my order was prepared so maybe it had not had enough time to freeze properly). As with most Cannery Row businesses there is no parking close by. This business does not seem to have any bathroom facilities nor anywhere for parents to wash off the sticky sweet treats from the hands and faces of their kids.

But I'm so glad I gave it a try! It was surprisingly light and refreshing, making it the perfect treat on a warm day. The Chocolate Mint had a bold mint flavor and was loaded with chocolate chips, while the Tropical Delight was a refreshing sundae featuring mango and raspberry sorbet. The "handmade" ice cream sign caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. I got the butter pecan. If you like super creamy, rich, milky-style butter pecan, this may not be for you. Their ice cream has more of an icy texture with a lighter flavor. I actually enjoyed it since I'm not a fan of overly creamy or overly sweet ice cream. It felt lighter and more refreshing. The rainbow sherbet had the same icy texture. One thing is that the ice cream melts very quickly, almost watery, even in 65-degree weather, so have napkins ready. One complaint was the scoop sizes. Our scoops were noticeably smaller compared to other customers being served around the same time, so the portions felt inconsistent for the price. Overall, if you prefer lighter, less sweet ice cream, you may enjoy this spot- just hope you get a generous scoop!
