I used Farmers TrueCar to start shopping for a CR-V at the end of April. One of the dealerships that reached out was Pacific Honda. I worked with Juan to sign up for a test drive. When I arrived, Juan was unavailable but he had a salesperson named Mario ready to meet me. He showed me both trims of the CR-V I was interested, we test drove one of the CR-Vs, and he gave me a high level quote on pricing all in 45 min. The quote was very competitive and Mario did not pressure me at all and let me know I could take my time thinking about it. For most of May, I did more research and test drives, including one with with another Honda dealership. Juan checked in me with me to see how it was going, but was never pushy. After going through some more test drives, my wife and I decided to go back to Pacific Honda. I let Juan and Mario know and we prepared a quote for a Dark Gray CR-V. Juan's manager called and walked me through finance options. After thinking about I asked if we could wait for a white CR-V, which they had no problem with as they had one on the way. Once the CR-V arrived, Juan and Mario reached back out to let me know. I told them we were ready to purchase the car. I asked how long it would take for the whole process as I needed to take a half day and we would have our baby with us. He said 2-3 hours. We came in the next morning at 9AM. Juan got us the final quote, which was very clear and matched what we originally discussed. We filled out all the paperwork with him for the car, which took about 1.5 hours. Then he had us meet with Kianna, the Finance Manager. Kianna walked us through some additional options, but did not pressure us to purchase any of them. We agreed on one additional option we wanted, and worked through the financial and DMV paperwork, which took another 1.5 hours. Once that was complete, they handed us the key and manuals and we were on our way. They nailed the 3 hour expectation. The entire time we were in the dealership, everyone was very friendly and was excited to see our baby. We felt very welcomed while we took care of the whole process. Overall I had a fantastic experience buying a car through Pacific Honda. They were transparent, communicative, and professional. This is primarily for the USED car dealer side. I have been a long time honda customer. The last new car I bought from Pacific Honda was in 2022, a Honda Ridgeline. Great vehicle and service on the new side. On Friday, May 22, 2026, because I trusted the dealers track record, I went in to buy a used car for my niece. The car sales person, Nina, was very kind. My niece had a 10k dollar budget and she saw a used 2016 Toyota Corolla sedan with 169,699k miles just a couple of hundred dollars above her budget. During the test drive Nina said all vehicles at Pacific Honda come inspected prior to being sold at PACIFIC HONDA lots. And the test drive did not show any dashboard errors. So my niece purchased the vehicle. Well, my niece has had the vehicle for 8 days, but hadn't driven it until yesterday to head out of town. Less then 400 miles later, at 170,049 miles, BAM major transmission error codes and the car is now jerking. I reached out to Nina and her only question was if I bought the extended warranty, and if I didn't, why not? Essentially telling me that it's not Pacific Honda's issue any longer. Sadly this shows to me that Pacific Honda inspections are not good. And they are putting used cars with significant issues for sale on their lots. I will now be stuck with the bill, as any used vehicle purchase carries a risk. Nina didn't even offer to escalate the issue to management to see if something can be done on good faith. If you're reading this review and you're in search of a USED car, I highly recommend you skip this dealership. They failed to properly inspect the vehicle, or even worse is me thinking they cleared error codes, and stuck the customer with the problem. Very sad customer this week. I included the video of the car they sold me, the odometer upon purchase and upon transmission failure, and the massive error codes being produced less the 400 miles after purchase as proof that this dealership is worth skipping. If you will buy a USED car at Pacific Honda, please immediately have a third party mechanic check the vehicle since Pacific Honda does not. It's not normal for a car, even if used and "pre inspected" to immediately generate major errors like this. read more

I sold my 2025 Lexus NX here on March 6th and worked with Alex Orloff in the acquisition department. I was told the process takes 2-3 weeks, but it took 45 days. I was completely ghosted after the sale until I finally forced the issue on 4/15. A colleague, Stephen, claimed Lexus Financial was withholding the title--which turned out to be a flat-out lie. I confirmed with my lender that Pacific Honda ignored two formal requests for an odometer reading (on 3/23 and 4/11)--information they had in their possession since the day I surrendered the car. The most "shady" part is the paper trail I've attached. After my 4/15 call, I received an email from Alex stating the business office made an "exception" and decided to cut the equity check before the title arrived. This was a total cover-up. The check I received is dated March 12th, yet the envelope is postmarked April 21st. They physically sat on my $3,201.37 equity check for 40 days while lying to me about the bank, then backdated the paperwork to look compliant with the law. Management even admitted the car was sold before the payoff was handled and notification from the dashboard notified me of a new address from the dashboard still connected. I have shared this evidence with Sunroad leadership, the Attorney General, and Honda Corporate (Case #16315081). I don't want a dime from them; I just want the public to see the deceptive practices and total lack of accountability from this team. No apologies, just blame from their own negligence and incompetence. If you sell here, expect to be ghosted and watch your paperwork very closely. read more

For the USED CAR Department. Came in for a used Honda, called beforehand and was told there would be no extra fees besides what's listed in the price online. When I showed up and talked about the price they included a $1500 "security system." This was after I already informed them that one of their sales reps assured me that there wouldn't be any fees, but they still pushed it. Manager eventually removed the "security system" charge but acted like it was such a demanding task to follow through on what I was told. Typical bait and switch scheme and I'm sure they wouldn't have removed the fee if there wasn't any evidence of my previous conversation with the sales rep. There's a very simple reason why manufacturers don't include "security systems" as options. It's just an easy way to get extra cash from uniformed buyers... This is expected from shady used dealers, not Honda dealerships. Dealers that use this bait and switch scheme can be reported for fraudulent business practices to the DMV and CA Attorney General. I wouldn't trust any dealership that hides those extra fees from their website. The pictures weren't clear enough to see the extreme curb rash on all 4 wheels. As well as the car didn't have an oil change on record for 2.5 years. Owners manual says every 7,500 miles or 1 year. They refused to acknowledge my concerns. Manager walked out when I refused to pay full price for these reasons. Should have known my experience would be like this from their rating. Most Honda dealers in my area have 4+ stars. read more

We purchased a new vehicle here. After hours of negotiations and back and forth we finally agreed. Everything was going smooth, up until we run into the " finance" guy. Which seems more like the " limited warranty guy" he was trying to sell us the warranty and telling us how it's so important . Total sales pitch. He was so pushy and had an attitude like if he was doing us a favor by selling me his warranty. You CAN negotiate the warranty price. I was able to get it to go down. This guy almost had me walking out of there by how pushy he was. Just so everyone knows you DO NOT need to buy the warranty there. There are tons of online reputable services that offer the same thing at lower prices, unfortunately I found this out later. I do not know this guys name but he was a lighter toned middle aged man that had an accent. Honda should really review this guy. He said he was going to " call " his boss to see if he can lower the price , clearly he wasn't talking to anyone as I was sitting right in front of him and can see and listen to what he was doing. read more

I've brought my 2016 Honda in no less than 3 times to repair the faulty air conditioner and yet the air conditioner was never actually repaired. They put a bandaid on it multiple times that didn't actually resolve the issue, and yet again the A/C is fully dead. Took my car in for an oil change and brake fluid replacement. Initial estimate was $179 for brake fluid and free oil change with service contract. Rep called during the appt to tell me I had multiple nails in my tire and would need two new tires costing $400. I consented. Final price was over $900. This was shocking to me as doing the math in my head brought me nowhere near this number. They explained that I needed a rotation, further inspection with my car service, etc. which brought the total higher. Why wasn't this discussed with me? Why wasn't I notified of the full price? She allowed me to test drive some cars and when I made my decisions she was extremely helpful along the way! I've been here several times with my Honda. I always make an appointment for 7 a.m. and have arrived 15-30 minutes earlier to try to beat the line. There is no point. It always takes an hour to check in, even for just an oil change. On this last visit, they need to repair some recalls and promised a loaner car. For a 7 am appointment, they had already run out of loaners, so I had to wait for Enterprise. Two hours later, I don't have a car or loaner. Worst car service I've ever experienced! I'm just in awe how bad my experience with Pacific Honda was. Literally every single encounter had some element of disappointment. This was my first time here because I recently moved to the area and needed a recalled part replaced and a regular oil change. I made an appointment for a Wednesday morning at 9 am. When I got to the shop, I pulled up to the garage and got out and walked into the office. An attendant rudely admonished me and said I need to sit in my car and roll down the window, and that I clearly missed the sign saying to do so. I said this was my first time here, and I didn't see the sign (it's not obvious), and had hoped they would try to leave a better first impression for a new customer than that. So I sat in my car and waited almost 45 minutes for the service advisor to come by. This poor guy couldn't have hated his job more, and it showed. He also appeared to either be high or extremely sick and kept coughing. He said he got caught up with other services which is why it took so long. I had an appointment scheduled, and had to get home, so this was unacceptable. If that wasn't bad enough, the advisor said I can either take a shuttle home or get a rental car through their partner Enterprise. He said the car rental was only good for 24 hours so if my car wasn't ready I'd have to pay, so I opted for the shuttle. Well that was another 45 minute wait! The attendant at the desk was again apathetic about her job and didn't show any sign of enthusiasm or care that I was waiting and had to get back to work. Finally the shuttle guy arrived who was the only friendly one in the entire shop. He said because he wouldn't be working the next day, to ask for Jesus who was the other shuttle driver. So the next morning I get a call when my car is ready and I asked for a shuttle. Well wouldn't you know, they don't have shuttle drivers on Thursdays! I asked why didn't anyone tell me?? I would have taken the rental car option then. The guy was not at all apologetic, like the other workers, and gave me no other option but an Uber that I'd have to pay for. So it gets worse... when I got to the service desk to get my car, they took me straight to the cashier with the bill, but without any explanation as to what they did on the car. The woman said my advisor was supposed to go over that but clearly didn't. She said it looked like just the recall part fix, and that was it. I said my estimate shows a multipoint inspection, brakes, tires, and fluids. She said they don't do this because it costs extra. I showed her again it's on my estimate! She finally found the paperwork that showed they did a regular maintenance, but now I'm not even confident they did a thorough job. The cherry on top? I get in my car and there's no new sticker for the oil change in the top corner of the windshield like they are supposed to do. I will never return to this dealership even for free service. Please hire people who actually want to be there. This severely affects your level of customer service and ability to retain good customers. read more

The buying experience was good but man when it comes to servicing the vehicle there the Service department lacks "CUSTOMER SERVICE" I've thought of leaving reviews before due to the bad service but this time I had enough. I scheduled an oil change and transmission service based on my vehicle's maintenance alert indicating that a transmission service was due. At the time of scheduling, I informed the service advisor of the promotional pricing listed online for both services. I dropped off the vehicle at 8:00 AM and made it clear there was no urgency. The service advisor mentioned he would contact me, but the call was made from a personal phone number. As I was in a meeting and did not recognize the number, I was unable to respond. Typically, calls from Pacific Honda are clearly identified, which helps ensure timely communication. When I returned around 3:00 PM to pick up the vehicle, I was informed that the transmission service had not been completed due to a discrepancy in pricing from what was originally discussed. While waiting to speak with a manager, my wife notified me that the low tire pressure warning light had turned on--this issue was not present when the vehicle was dropped off. When the manager finally came to speak with me, I explained the situation. Unfortunately, the response I received suggested the issue may have already existed and lacked acknowledgment of the concerns raised. I was then asked what resolution I was seeking. To be clear, my expectation is straightforward: I value honest communication, accountability, and quality customer service. If there was a pricing discrepancy, it should have been addressed proactively, and the originally communicated pricing should have been honored. 1) At nearly $500 (less with coupon) and 2.6% credit card fee, I was stunned.  Can't afford these prices.  automatic transmission fluid exchange - $190.83 brake fluid reservoir exchange  - $93.92 synthetic oil change - $96.19 replace engine and cabin filters  - $120 tire rotation not completed per their notes, I was told ' if tread was sufficient'. That would have been an additional $20 and time beyond the 2 hrs it already took Went for maintenance code but the service advisor  added item(s) that he recommended based on the age of vehicle. I had already re-arranged meetings and my work schedule to complete this service so I agreed, but not sure it was the right choice. It immediately made me think of companies like print journalism or Disney+  that raise prices on the existing/remaining customers to make up for lost volume (newer cars after mine came w service packages). 2) Two days later I went grocery shopping only to find that my truck wouldn't open w the handle, my key fob, nor the button on the driver door. What a pain to put groceries in the back seat! The internet tells me that someone had put the 'valet' setting on which prevents the trunk from opening.    3) Glove compartment -  not sure what they did. First they didn't put the contents back. But now the arm unhooks after opening such that it won't close. I re-attach the arm but it becomes unhooked EVERY time the compartment is opened, preventing closure. Super annoying to walk around to the passenger side to re-attach it every time.  Who wants a car to function worse after a dealer visit... this is like herpes, the gift that keeps on giving. The prices alone are a reason not to return but everything else on top of that is incredibly frustrating. Ridiculous. Not a professional level of service.. read more

Since October 2023, I've interacted with three Honda dealerships: DCH Honda of Mission Valley in San Diego, Zeigler Honda of Racine in Wisconsin, and Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda in Rapid City, South Dakota. Each experience has been exceptional, leaving me with the impression that great service is the norm across all Honda dealerships. This led me to schedule an online service appointment with Pacific Honda in San Diego, as it's closer to my home in Mira Mesa. Having purchased my vehicle from DCH Honda of Mission Valley, I've consistently been impressed with their service. Nevertheless, I decided to give Pacific Honda's service department a try. A follow-up call came from a representative asking about my maintenance needs, to which I explained the purpose of my appointment: addressing two recall notifications. I also mentioned that my last scheduled maintenance - oil change and tire rotation - was handled by Zeigler Honda of Racine during a visit to my daughter's family in Wisconsin. They were very courteous and efficient. Additionally, while traveling cross-country, I had an equally positive experience with Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda, when they assisted with my tire pressure adjustment. To my surprise, the Pacific Honda representative informed me that online appointments could not be booked for recalls and that I would need to wait for a call from another person to schedule the service. I agreed, but after waiting over a week without hearing back, I began to feel forgotten. Taking matters into my own hands, I reached out to DCH Honda of Mission Valley's service department instead. They promptly scheduled my recall service without any hassle. At today's appointment, a representative by the name of Angel greeted me with professionalism and initiative. Upon learning that I planned to wait for my vehicle, he made efforts to expedite the service - resulting in a quicker-than-expected experience. I've learned my lesson: for new vehicle purchases and maintenance, I'll stick with DCH Honda of Mission Valley. For the record, I'm still waiting on that return call from Pacific Honda! read more

We drove down from the South Bay to San Diego to purchase a Rav4 at Pacific Honda. While going through the car buying process, we were left waiting for service for over 30 minutes while our sales representative helped another client (despite the fact we had an appointment). After getting help and agreeing on a price, they changed the out-the-door price three different times since they kept on messing up the sales tax. We were also directed to the insurance department to enroll in car insurance even after we provided evidence of our current car insurance. Despite this, we purchased the car and were told to reach out if we ever needed anything. Pacific Honda promised us top-of-the-line, bumper-to-bumper support and customer service. A few days later, the car got a flat tire. We tried to fix the flat but realized that Pacific Honda sold us the Rav4 without providing a wheel lock key. After removing the locked lug nuts, we contacted Pacific Honda for reimbursement and for the wheel lock key or a substitute wheel lock. Despite talking to various people in various departments, Pacific Honda said they would reimburse us for the lug nut removal but no one was willing to provide the wheel lock key. We managed to talk to Andrea, the used car sales manager, who insisted we drive down to San Diego with the Rav4. We tried to explain our predicament to Andrea, but she kept cutting us off and repeatedly suggested we drive down so they can help us in San Diego. In addition to being unhelpful, Andrea proved to be dismissive and disrespectful. Earlier this week, we were contacted by Pacific Honda to see how they could remedy the situation. They offered to send the wheel lock key in exchange for us removing a negative review that we left on Yelp and Google. This conversation took place on Monday and we have yet to hear back from them. No one has followed up and they wanted us to take down the post before they helped us. On their website, Pacific Honda promises highly trained sales professionals, a streamlined shopping experience, and claims customers will love the support available to them. Our experience has been anything but. Our sales representative kept disappearing for long periods of time and messed up the sales tax, affecting the car's overall price. The constant referrals to different departments made the purchasing process take longer than necessary. And despite lauding their customer service, their lack of follow through on this request (for a missing car part that should have been included with the car itself), and Andrea's general unprofessionalism, leads me to recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Honda dealership. I brought my 2022 Honda Insight in because a single warning light came on. The car was running perfectly fine and showed no symptoms of any major mechanical problems. After their inspection, I was told the vehicle needed a radiator, water pump, piston repair, gear selector control, and several other expensive repairs. What started as one dashboard light turned into thousands of dollars in repairs. It was very difficult for me to believe that so many major components suddenly failed at the same time when the car was otherwise operating normally. To make matters worse, my service advisor, John Ablao, told me I did not have a warranty. Later, I verified that I did in fact have warranty coverage through Honda. Because of the way this was handled, I ended up paying expenses that may have been covered, and I was never reimbursed for my rental car. I also discovered that the gear selector control assembly they charged me hundreds of dollars for can be found online for a fraction of the price. While I understand dealerships charge more than online sellers, the overall experience left me feeling like I was being sold repairs rather than being given honest advice. I left feeling frustrated, overcharged, and misled. Based on my experience, I would not return to this dealership for service, nor would I recommend it to friends or family. I went to service and troubleshoot my wife's 2025 Honda CRV vehicle and the service department has the least integrity or care for the new car they sold us. Regardless of any good faith we expressed in the two seperate times (of the several visits) we attended their service shop; the service representatives were setting me up to practice their discourtesy of the Honda Brand upon us. I remember when the Honda Brand was the highest customer service and maintenance team. I waited 6 hours for an oil change, battery warranty replacement, and audio system computer update. We got a stupid diagnosis on the 2 instances of a Dead battery, the car electronically locking up twice, the dumbfounded story (to keep me waiting for 6 hours for our car) from our last service representative. We do not understand the lousy position of customer service that comes with the Honda Brand from that service department. This situation is tracking to be 15 percent of the visits to that service department (grade on service department: C minus). Don't buy the added 3 year oil service for any car at that dealership. This has been my go to dealership for service. Not sure what was going on today but every single person i interacted with at this location acted like they did not want to be there. I pull in for an express oil change. First service manager comes out and says it's a three hour wait. No greetings or anything. I say I'm ok with dropping it off. Different service manager comes out to do my paperwork. Her attitude is a bit better, no smiles but at least she didnt sound pissed off about talking to a customer. I come back to pickup my car. Person who checks me out act like im bothering him. I had a coupon for the oil change and he had to update the paperwork. I get people have bad days, but seems all your staff need customer service training refresher. read more

It's a review for Honda... but hear me out. Our family loves Toyota. My parents, wife, and I all own Toyotas and our previous cars were Toyotas as well. My wife was in need of a new car and she liked the Toyota RAV4, but also liked the Honda CR-V. We went to Kearny Mesa Toyota (KMT) around 7:30-7:45pm and walked a lap around their lot looking at the RAV4s (about 10-15 minutes minimum). No one ever came out to greet us or ask if we wanted to check out any of the cars or SUVs. We walked into the show room, and more of the same... no greeting, no one asked if we needed any help for a good 10 minutes. When a salesman finally did walk up, he did not seem interested in selling us a vehicle at all. I don't know if he thought we couldn't afford it because we appear to be young and we were dressed casually or what the deal was, but we ended up leaving. We decided to drive a few blocks to Pacific Honda to check out the CR-V. Man... the difference between service there vs KMT was night and day. Shawn greeted us and asked if we were interested in looking at any cars or SUVs. We ended up checking out the CR-V and the wife ended up taking it for a test drive. Hondas and Toyotas are reliable and resale value generally holds. We decided to get the SUV. We chose the trim that had the bells and whistles the wifey wanted. The process was a solid 3-4 hours, but I'm happy she got the SUV she wanted. KMT lost out on business because of poor service. ** I reported this failure to complete work in which I paid for to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs for investigation. I suggest anyone with similar experiences to do the same.** My car was originally seen in February for hard shifting. Service advisor called and said they couldn't replicate the issue and no check engine light as on so there was nothing further they could do. Understandable. He proceeds to suggests manufacturer recommended fluid exchanges that total ~$1k. I agreed to all the preventive maintenance. Almost 1 month to the day the same exact issue happens but this time my car loses all power on the interstate forcing me to get it towed to Honda. Shawn was the service advisor for this visit. His communication was absolutely awful. I had to call him several times for updates on my car when I had not received any communications beyond the estimated completion date. According to repair notes from Honda car gave code "P0303" which is misfire on cylinder 3. They allegedly replaced the fuel injector on cylinder 2 because of failed A/F test and cleared the code. About 5 weeks later the car begins "shifting hard" which at this point I've narrowed down to a misfire and on my way to the Honda dealership it breaks down again. I make it to the DCH Honda dealership this time and thank God I did! They were absolutely phenomenal and very thorough. The service advisor, Brian, was knowledgeable, polite, efficient and thorough. He took detailed notes and reviewed the service history with me. They ordered a complimentary lift to get me home and offered a loaner car (paid for by my warranty) while my repairs were being completed. During their meticulous multi-point inspection they discovered MY FLUID EXCHANGES I PAID FOR WERE NOT COMPLETE. Irate at this point I drive over to Honda and speak to the shops foreman who was absolutely useless. The next day I go to speak with Jason Peabody, the service director, but he was too busy to speak with me so I left rather than wasting my time. DCH diagnosed my car with a cracked head gasket. According to John and the crew at Pacific Honda this is a common issue with the 1.5T engines (after some research this is true), yet they failed to inspect for it during either of my previous two visits for the same issue. John tries to explain the diagnosis tree and all of these scenarios to shield Pacific Honda for blame but my question to him is why not check the head gasket if you just informed me it is a common issue with this engine? It's been KNOWN for years according to him and he added there were at least 3 other vehicles with the same symptoms and eventual diagnosis of a cracked head gasket. Following this Jason sends John to negotiate for him which they offered a TERRIBLE proposal that I countered and John responded with he'd take that back to Jason and get back to me- GHOSTED. Never heard back from John. I called Jason, got his voicemail, left him a message and have not heard back from him since (~3 weeks now). Now I will have to get all the work they allegedly completed redone to ensure it was completed and completed correctly- shelling out more money. Moral of the story: if you want your work (that you paid for) to ACTUALLY be completed and have a pleasant service experience AVOID PACIFIC HONDA. Choose DCH Honda instead. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for an oil change today at 2:30 and was turned away because they were "cutting it close"... Mind you, they close at 5:00 and I was there at 2:00 for my 2:30 appointment. There were no other cars in line, it was only me. Eric and Mark , informed me that oil changes were completed on a "first come first serve" basis. I was not informed this when I called and made my appointment. It would be nice to inform customers that if they schedule an appointment for an oil change, it is not guaranteed that they will be serviced and that it is better for them to "walk in", Or to simply not offer appointments for oil changes. Also, this is the second time that I have been turned away from them. The first excuse they gave me was I would need to leave my car overnight, again for an oil change. I told them it was okay because I could rent a car from enterprise. They informed me they did not have a shuttle to take me to enterprise and enterprise would be closing soon, I found out later this was not true. I was told it would be better for me to come back another day. Unfortunately, I find the techs here to be lazy, and when it comes to vehicles and safety, I do not feel comfortable with them operating on my car. This is poor management. I am truly disappointed in the lack of professionalism, organization, and communication. I will not be returning to this location. Personally, I will share my experience with friends, family, and those that inquire about Pacific Honda of San Diego and recommend that they make the extra drive to report to another facility. read more

Worst Honda service center in town. after today, I remember why I quit going there many years ago with my Passport . I had a 12 o'clock oil change appt today and I told the person on the phone I had to wait for the car. I was told it would be 60-90 minutes max. I Brough my book and water. When I checked in I was told it would be "at least 4 hours' till my car was done. I asked why and the service guy said "we didn't expect this many cars today" I asked if having an appt made any difference and he said "no, not really " Why on earth do they take appointments then not honor them. I called the service Dept on way home to air my grievance and they could not have cared less !! The express oil change line was out into the street so I can only assume they have enough business to not care about customer satisfaction. Makes me think the work maggot be sub par as well!
