The most unprofessional experience I've ever experienced. When I arrived for my appointment, I saw that the receptionist was engaged in a very loud argument with a patient. She was yelling at the patient, and it was chaotic and awkward to say the least. I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time, only to be told the doctor is running late from surgery, and will need to reschedule. Since I had so much time during the wait, I looked up the clinic's medical board records, and they are under investigation. RUN folks!! I also got a call later that day from the office asking why I did not show up to my appointment, saying I now owed them $40 for the missed appointment, when they were the ones running late and asked me to reschedule. Absurd. Before leaving the clinic, I asked for my doctor's medical license number so I can look him up. A very rude male staff member yelled at my saying "we don't give that kind of information!" My experience with Pacific Orthopaedic Associates shaped my three-star rating of the establishment. My experience with the orthopedist Dr. Jonathan Chang is great. I would of given a minimum of a four-star review solely based on my satisfaction with Dr. Chang alone if it were not for my frustration with the lengthy respond time and office etiquette of his staff. I have a scheduled appointment to see Dr. Chang on Friday, September 2 @ 8:50AM. Because of insurance authorization delay for a MRI, I wanted to reschedule the appointment until I get an MRI to make available to him to have new information to diagnose. I called the office a business day in advance to request a different appointment day and time. Two different associate answered the phone across five (5) phone calls. The first four calls, I was greeted abruptly and succinctly with "Please hold" and placed on hold without my confirmation or acknowledgement. A series of lengthy hold times stretching from four minutes to seven minute pairs with each unsuccessful phone calls. Peeved by lack of professional courtesy. I would given at most a two-star review solely for the staffing lack of professional phone etiquette. Albeit Dr. Chang's knowledgeable expertise in the field merits a higher rating in my opinion. read more

Took my 88 year old mother in law here for a follow up visit. Had an appointment with Dr. Jonathan Chang. Now anyone that has ever helped there aging parent knows that being on time and getting them out of the house is a difficult task to say the least. We arrived 15 minutes late and were told that the doctor had left. After my wife pulled out her cell phone to record the conversation they somehow retrieved the good doctor before he left for his dim sum. Before the doctor came in we were told to turn off all our cell phones ?? Wtf ? Upon entering the room he began the conversation by scolding us for being late , great bedside manner ! Well the long and short of the appointment was that he had to be the most arrogant , condescending A.......le I've ever met. I think he should have been a doctor of veterinary medicine with his excellent people skills. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone !! They've earned there outstanding 2 star status on yelp. Actually amazed that it's not 1 star but I guess there relatives have left enough positive reviews to bring up the average. Being an attorney I'm contemplating a malpractice suit. We took our son to have an x-ray of his injured hand last year and the front reception was confused with the insurance policy and I paid extra out of pocket just to make sure there is no fracture. Late last month we got an additional bill of 147usd and they said because it's out of network so additional extra charge. Fine, at this point we are done dealing with this clinic so we mail a check right away just to find out today they sent another final notice even a week after they cashed the check! I have not had any problems with appointments here. Everything is new and the staff are friendly. I recommend Dr Randall Farac if you are going to see him for any sports injuries. He repaired my ACL and fixed my meniscus. Not only did he do a great job but he helped me through out the process up until surgery. He gave me insight on which surgery to choose and laid out all the options for me. Check with the front desk to see if your insurance is in their network! read more

My mom has been a patient at this Clinique for many years. The doctors and nurses here are very good, except for 2 front desk girls. They are the ones who great and check patients in. My mom has an appointment this morning at 10:00. We got there at 10:35 because on the way to the Clinique, my mom pooped her pants, so we had to drive back home to change her. My mom has a severe dementia. The hispanic front desk girl looked at me and said you are late. I said YES, can we still see the doctor. She nodded. So we wait at the waiting area. There were only 4 people at the waiting area. It was very quiet due to Coronavirus. Until 11:30, there were only me and my mom at the waiting room now. I approached the front desk girl and asked her if I should reschedule. She looked at me and asked my name. I told her. She said wait another 5 minutes. So I sat down and saw her starting the process my mom paperwork; which mean this whole time that we waited. She didn't checked us in. I thought during this difficult time, we should all work together as one and not putting salt on someone's wound. Luckily, the doctor who saw us this morning was super nice. read more

I've been back several times since my last review and just wanted to add that the overcrowding is chronic, no improvement. The parking lot is also always full. But having so many doctors and practices as well as therapists and a pharmacy all in one place is very convenient. The pharmacy knows all the practices on a first name basis, this facilitates getting your meds as fast as possible. read more

I spoke with one of the office staff who is supposed to call me back whether or not my insurance will cover. However, she never call me back after two days. I called yesterday and it was the lunch hours so no body answered the call and was asked to call back. Today, I called again at 11 AM and got the answering service. I have had several Doctors there over the years. They are super rush you in and out like your cattle. When you want to ask questions about your Ortho, pain they act insulted. I have had 4 doctors over the years, for different injuries and now it is severe. The assistant nurses Are rude. Talk to people like your a dog "sit down"! The two good nurses are on the left hand side as you walk in My and Maria. But, I would go there just for that! 4 doctors all over schedule don't listen to your concerns. And, when you complain to the office lead, she is rude as well. The medicine they prescribe you have great side effects. I had to look it up on line and ask for a better medicine without so many side effects. I feel this show be the situation a doctor needs to help you decide. The most rude girl that talked like that was a gay ugly girl that work with Pak. I guess that's why she has to be so rude! read more

I would never go here by choice. Unfortunately, I was assigned to go here by my medical group & changing to another ortho clinic would've taken too long because I had an ACL tear and needed care right away. The staff at the front desk are so rude. They are the least helpful people and I've seen them raise their voice at the elderly who were confused on what to do/did not speak English well. Additionally, I would call multiple times to request new physical therapy (PT) authorizations but the medical assistants may or may not relay the message to the physician. I went on 2 weeks without PT because no one requested my authorization even though I called and left messages multiple times. They clearly don't care about quality of care or about what their patients need. I would give this place 1 star for their service, but I had Johnny Lim, the PA, and he's younger so he has better manners and he's nice, so they get 2 stars. Avoid this place if you can! read more

Facilities is good, doctor and assistant are all good. They did the wrong authorization procedure for me. Dr. Pak refer me to have a epidural injection. The authorization lady sent injection request to the FIRST pain management doctor right away with injection authorization, then i visited the doctor a few times for consultation but no injection at all. Anyway, I went back to dr. Pak again for follow up, then I want to see another closer pain management doctor. Then dr. Pak also told me to get my injection this time, but the authorization lady just request a follow up authorization. Then she modified to a 2nd opinion after i made certain calls. With two cases, it is obvious that the authorization procedure is totally different with the same injection request. This kind of dishonest and careless mistake in a medical facilities that gives people some warning sign about this pacific orthopedic associates. In addition, you can only reach them if they like to answer you call. the voice mailbox is useless, they never return your call. the email contact is also useless, it said 5 - 7 days to return. I had an appointment to see Dr. Farac at Pacific Orthopedic Associates and unfortunately I did not have a very good experience with him. He was rather arrogant and in a hurry. The reason I went to him because of the excellent reviews I read of him here. Sorry but he did not personify whats written here. Dr. Farac is personified as being patient, awesome, polite, caring and easy to talk to however my appointment with him was totally the opposite. This place has the worst service imanginable. They are probably worse than then VA. They don't care about the patients, really poor customer service and seriously a joke. For the third time I have been canceled without notice for a medical appointment which is really important. The front desk receptionist Maggie is really unprofessional and doesn't know what she is doing. The first appoontment she called me a few hour before my appointmet and told me i need to cancel because i had no prescription. Why didnt she let me know within the 1 month window? Why a few hours before my visit?? Secondly, this week I got my prescription but she called me again last minute saying she did not get the prescription and wanted me to fax it. She was too lazy to get it from the doctors office. She asked me again less than 24 hours. She was adamant about me canceling but I said I have the prescription. Once she confirmed she said to come today 5/24 Saturday at 1130. I just came now and what do you know, she closed the door. Is she purposely not helping me? She knows that my wife who the appointment is for is pregnant and really in pain. WHY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE CLOSED AND I AM WAITING OUTSIDE? read more

Ok first I am truly shocked about all the negative comments about this medical group.. This Orthopedic group is very good. I have been coming here for years. Dr. Farac is very good he has so far done both of my ankles. He is very patient, attentive, and great at what he does.. The other doctors in this practice is great as well. Dr. Chang has seen my son and is excellent. He took one look at my son and did a few maneuver test on him and stated he had an ACL/MCL tear and was immediately transferred to Children's hospital due to his age. I thank him for that because other doctors said it was nothing. I HIGHLY recommend this practice to everyone read more

I had such a bad experience here. The staff in the front are rude! They don't follow up with you I'm on crutches. Screaming my name just to ask me a question and then shooing me away to the waiting room is so inconsiderate. On top of that, they said they would mail my rx for approval to the insurance company and weeks later in called and it was never done. I am never coming back here. Until today, I was pleased with the practice. My son was turned away today after calling three times yesterday. One to reschedule his appointment today to 4:20pm and two other times to confirm. The person I called to reschedule the appointment had a language barrier. She was hard to understand and it was my mistake in not taking her name down. Around mid day my ex-husband called and someone told him appointment was on Wednesday. So I called and spoke to Yesenia and asked her twice is appointment for Tuesday. She stated "Tuesday" and I asked her why was he told Wednesday. She was not sure. So before we hung up I asked her again for Tuesday correct? She said "Yes". Thought everything was resolved. Apparently not, got a call from my brother stating he was turned away. I called and spoke to Brian. He tried to accommodate my son with no luck. He stated he would see what he could do and would call me back. I received a call back from Mary 15 minutes later who basically did not care and did not even try to accommodate my son. Brian did a better job at trying to accommodate my son. When I told her this was ridiculous , because she couldn't confirm with Yesenia who I spoke to yesterday. She said "ok, Thank you" and hung up on me. Really how unprofessional. I work in the medical field and this is not how you treat your patients or their family members. At this point my son is still in the building seeing the Physical Therapist. He had this appointment as well and they took him early. I scheduled my appointments accordingly because I work and it's hard at times when schedules don't work. I was excited that I was able to work something out and get him seen today. Now extremely disappointment and will not be referring anyone to here. No stars are deserved with this type of customer service. The doctor wasn't available and a PA took over our paperwork, she didn't know how to answer our questions. I hope we don't have to come back. Dr Farac was a life saver in many ways, I tore almost every ligament in my knee playing softball. I had gone to another orthopedic doctor for almost 3 months, and after being shuffled around the physical therapy department, they finally referred me to Dr Farac who after taking one look at my mri knew exactly what was wrong. I had a long road ahead of me and for various reasons had to sit tight for several months before I was able to go ahead with the surgery necessary to fix my knee. As of this time I have attempted to have surgery at the Alhambra location but was unable to be completed so now have to go to an actual hospital for precautionary reasons. The post op team was extremely friendly, informative and even joked with me before putting me under. I will definitely follow up once surgery has been completed with additional information. read more

I was very concerned about my daughter, Ayesha Ng, when she fractured her elbow, since it was the very first time any such injury had happened to my child. But my worry vanished when I saw that I was in good hands while visiting the Pacific Orthopaedic Medical Group. Dr. Eugene Rosario greeted us with a smile and seemed sympathetic when I expressed my concerns. The medical assistants were very kind, comforting, and careful when doing the X-Rays and cast and splint placement. We felt very relaxed and comfortable around them. All of the doctors are very professional when providing their advice and handling each individual patient's needs. My daughter, Ayesha Ng, recovered very quickly and without much pain. My experience with Pacific Ortho, particularly Dr. Farac, was outstanding. After a year at another ortho group I changed medical groups which led me to Dr. Farac. He immediately recommended a total knee replacement which I had two weeks ago. Everyone from the nurses to the radiology techs at the hospital and then rehab remarked on what a good job Dr. Farac did. I am two weeks post op and am on my feet and almost pain free. I called Pacific Ortho to see about going to see an Orthopedic after visiting Urgent Care. I have copies of my X-ray, and UC did all they could and was referred. I had a bad fall and now require a MRI. After speaking to someone who could barely understand me, I was told I have to wait a month to see someone. I told her I couldn't walk and she said I have to wait a month. No concern or compassion at all. Thanks lady. Won't ever go back here. I am creating this on behalf my parents and could have given a half-star for this. To people especially Asians I should not recommend going to this office at all. The doctors are decent and so-so, but the biggest concern are the staff/receptionists whom are unprofessional, somewhat unpleasant and are not very knowledgeable about what your needs are. Not only it's difficult to get the right interpreter to speak your language, but also very difficult to make appointments, even on the phone and have to call them several times! The place is always very busy and you may have to wait a few weeks to more than a month to set your appointment. A lot of older people went there and should have known about the conditions there. I am not sure what others say about this, but the establishment has been this terrible since the place first opened. read more

I injured me knee and could hardly walk, went in for a visit and wasn't given anything for pain. I called the office later a asked for pain medication and finally got a prescription. After the MRI he tears were found to be repairable through physical therapy. I asked for a refill on pain meds and they tried to give me Motrin. I can't take Motrin because it counter acts with another medication I take and cause intestinal bleeding. After telling them this for he second time they basically said oh well deal with it and go see your primary care dr to fix the medication issue. My primary care won't help me either because he says that it is the responsibility of the orthopedic surgeon he recommended me to. So now I have to just sit in pain and deal with it. the office staff here is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. Every single one of them. Why do they work in a doctor's office is they have no concern for patients or do not care at all or can't do their job? "I just came back today so I don't know where that form is" I don't care about that. why don't you look in my chart? Shouldn't all my papers be filed in my chart? That should be your first step instead of asking me to send you the same form over and over again or asking me to keep calling my PCP. Mind you this was after my PCP had faxed the SAME form twice. And if there was an error with the form then YOU need to contact my doctor. I'm not your messenger. That's your job! No other specialists I've seen has been this incompetent and lazy. Seriously. If you are that miserable and hate what you do, please quit. Even the office manager was unhelpful, rude, condescending and kept interrupting me only to keep repeating herself. She blamed my insurance company the my medical group and then my PCP when she should have taken accountability for the mistake the office made. Hope all insurance companies and groups that you are contracted with reads these yelp reviews and TERMINATE your contract. Clearly I'm not the only one who was treated poorly and is majorly dissatisfied. This office is a prime example of everything that's wrong with our healthcare system. Fragmented care. They don't bother to keep others involved in care informed. Ridiculous!!!!!!!! Listen to me and choose a different specialist or talk to your primary care physician for a new referral. I never even passed the receptionist over the phone to make an appointment for my 91 y.o. Mom ! I called the Arcadia office and talked to Millie. I told her my 91 y.o. has a broken right thumb and her family doctor had put on a splint but she needs a better splint from an Orthopod. Millie looked her up and said my Mom is in there system from a few years ago. I explained to her that she's still on Medicare but only Part B which is for doctor visits etc., and that her BC/BS is for hospitalization only. She insisted, despite of my explanation that her BC/BS has nothing to do with the doctor office visit, that she needs to verify her BC/BS coverage. She then told me after 5-10 minutes on the phone that it was late and she wouldn't be able to make an appointment anyway. I mentioned to her that it was 4:30 P.M. and they don't close until 5. She said it is Friday the appointment person is gone for the day ! She concluded by telling me that some one will call me on Monday to make an appointment. Well, now it is 6:16 p.m. Wednesday and no one called ! I called Congress Medical Ortho and they were kind and caring on the phone and told me that her Medicare coverage is fine and gave us an appointment the next day!!! I don't claim to know how the doctor's are but the public facing person answering the phone doesn't even understand insurance and wanted to go home early on a Friday afternoon, and btw, her command of the English language was somewhat limited, REALLY ?!?!?! read more

Can't really comment on surgical technique but Dr. Pak's bedside manners are terrible. And this is coming from someone who works in the medical profession so it's pretty easy for me to make this judgment. At every visit his explanations were terse with no attempts to further address my questions/concerns and it was clear he was focused more on his schedule than patient encounter. read more
