I know the location is permanently closed but I wanted to share my experience anyway. I dropped off jeans to have a hole patched shortly before they closed for good. It took about a month to get them back. The hole was patched but they had also taken off about two inches from the bottom of my jeans. I left a voice mail, a couple of texts, and even talked to Golf in person. She said she would follow up and never did. It was such a terrible experience. My favorite jeans are ruined. read more

Remember that Seinfeld episode where George got his girlfriend a cashmere sweater, and it turned out he got a huge discount because it had a stain (I think it was a red dot). Well, I got THE tiniest red stain on my new white shirt after (not) carefully slicing tomatoes at work. My OCD tendencies came out. It was still a perfectly good shirt but I started to obsess about the dot. So I soaked the shirt overnight with laundry detergent. The stain was gone, but the black hems bled into the white part leaving gray splotches everywhere! I went to Pacific View Cleaners the next day. The woman who assisted me warned me that they might not be able to take the stains out. And she kept asking if I was sure I wanted to spend money on it. I had faith in them, and the estimate was $4.50, so why not, right? I picked up my shirt today and they fixed it! Another woman helped me and explained the higher cost. The bill was $8.00. I told her I understood and that I knew they could fix it. And when I left, I noticed the receipt had a handwritten note about why I was charged a higher cost. I'm so appreciative of the honesty I've experienced. They definitely have my trust when it comes to my beautiful, precious clothes. read more

I feel so lucky to have run into this dry cleaning service 7 years ago - and ever since then, I have problem switching to any other dry cleaners - because the owner, Golf, is such a sweetheart. Every time I visited her shop, she would always put on a big smile. Most importantly, she would always go that extra mile - I mean, some of my sweaters/jumpers are kind of old and might already have some lint, Golf/her workers would help me trim those away, which then made my sweaters look brand new - and they did it without me even asking! I needed to hem my pants ASAP and went/called several places. Most of them were closing (6pm) but luckily I found this place. Came in on a Tuesday around 6 pm. The lady that helped me, Tanya, said that it won't be ready till next week. GASP. What?! But I need it by this Friday *sad face, pouty lips* Ok, come back this Friday. After staining to my down comforter and sofa cushion covers from my pets, I was looking for a place to get both cleaned professionally. I was especially concerned over the sofa cushion covers, as any shrinkage would make it impossible to reuse (and couches are expensive!). I read such wonderful things on here about Pacific View Cleaners, so I called them for a quote. In comparison to other cleaners I reached out to, the prices were quite reasonable. The owner is very nice and she kindly texts/calls her clients with updates about her store and their items (holiday closures, when an item will be ready, etc.). Cleaning both of these items, particularly the sofa cushion covers, requires more work and time than clothing pieces. Updates were communicated to us, which was above and beyond what I expected. For myself, the owner's personal concern to make sure these items were properly cleaned, dried, and aired out to prevent my taking home an item with any chemical smell, was very appreciated. I've been using this business for many months now for dry cleaning and have been very pleased with my experience. They also offer alternations services. read more

This place is SPANKING awesome!! Not only are they affordable, friendly, fast, and efficient....well....what else would you need in your dry cleaners? Every couple of weeks (yeah, yeah I know) I drag these two boxes of button downs over there, and PRESTO, a couple of days later, I have clean laundry (for a minor cost). I was stumped...I had to figure out how to get my huge dress re-tailored again, and I didn't want to drive downtown. Thankfully, I found Pacific View nearby and at first it looked kinda dark from the outside. But inside, it was like a little haven for boutique shoppers. From the start, they were honest about their prices and they were reasonable. And after seeing my dress fitted on me, they went to work hemming away. It was only 10 minutes at the most...that was fast! Since this was a semi-rush job, they gave me 3 days for the hem and patch-up...and they pressed my clothes too ^_^...for free...I like free.... Getting your clothes dry cleaned is like getting your hair done for the first time by someone new: SCARY. Fortunately I found Pacific View Cleaners (thanks to you yelpers!) they did such a FANTASTIC job cleaning my dresses! Come to find out they also clean leather, which is great because I have a dress with leather on it and have had such a difficult time trying to find someone to clean it and clean it well. My clothes were clean in 4 days and you have a choice of paying when you drop off your clothes or when you come back to pick them up. faaaaabulouuuss! Also their prices are so reasonable! Three dresses only cost me $24. I would consider dry cleaning all my clothes!! read more

I'm sure this place is great...when they don't damage your clothing. They told me they'd clean my coat within one week. When I called after a week they did not apologize for it not being ready, but just said they'd send a text. Another week later I got the text. I go to pick up my coat and in less than a minute I realize that there's a frickin hole in it. Right at the front of the coat....The worker simply shook her head and said we didn't do that. It's a relatively new coat and considering it took me a few seconds to realize this big hole right at the front, I think I would've noticed if that was the case before I brought it in. Please take pictures of your clothing before you bring it in because if there happens to be any damage they will take ZERO responsibility, even though they're supposed to do so according to the law. I dropped off a white dress shirt with typical cleaning needed around the collar, and it is going to cost $6.95 - by far the most I've spent for a dress shirt to be cleaned. And there's no option of getting anything back sooner than 1 week given the ship the clothing out to be cleaned. Um, I have been used to my little dry cleaner in the Sunset who hand wrote everything on a paper and if I forgot my tag when I picked up the dry cleaning, she would have to search by hand for my clothes. Wow, welcome to the modern age. Upon moving here to the Richmond, I thought I would give this place a shot based on the reviews. SCORE! Computerized receipts. I know for some it may be something they are used to but for me, it's new and I love it. It itemizes for me how many items I brought in and tells me all that I need to know about my drop off. Nice. Wash and fold services- I personally love doing laundry because I feel like I get a whole new wardrobe when it's all done and put away. That said, I hate doing linens and sheets. And soley for the reason because I never fold them right and they always come out wrinkled and eh. Hear they do it all and for super cheap. There is a 10lb requirement so when I throw my sheets in sometimes I throw in other stuff too. Services itself- awesome! Fresh and clean, and they are pretty honest about what they can and can't do. And the staff is always super helpful and nice, whether it's the owner or the lady that works there. BONUS- there is a clothing boutique within the dry cleaner of one of a kind imports from Asia. (ie. they only have 1-3 of each item and in select sizes but still.....) so if you are lucky maybe you'll find this weekends going out shirt while you pick up your dry cleaning! read more

I've been using this place for about a year and always found them to be friendly and provide good quality dry cleaning and shirt laundering/pressing, at a fair price. Today they really won my heart after restoring my husband's favorite coat to like new status. I had taken the trench coat, purchased in Italy (so basically irreplaceable), to two different cleaners after some pretty tough stains showed up. Neither of the previous places made a dent, so it languished in the back of the closet. I finally brought it to Pacific View in one last ditch effort... and it came back pristine! I was shocked and thrilled and the owner was beaming at my response. I can now say I won't take my cleaning to any other establishment. They have won my business for life! read more

My fiancé and I have been coming here for a while and have always been pleased with the service and results. However, that has definitely changed. I recently dropped off several items, including a sweater that I had only worn once. Two of the items required spot treatment and I pointed that out. One of the times needed to be mended and I pointed that out too (I also got a quote for it -- $8). When we picked them up, we were instantly told that the new sweater was "damaged". Further, she said that we turned it in damaged. If it was turned in damaged, why point out that it was damaged? It's surprising that she didn't catch that the day I turned it in after inspecting every single item in front of me. Again, I only wore the sweater once and it was in perfect condition. After calling her out on that., she retreated her comment and said that it was "really dirty" and it couldn't be new. It's a cream sweater and had no stains. Further, had it been "really dirty" I would have asked her to spot treat it like I did to my finances white button down shirts. Oh by the way, the small tear on the pants (it's right on the front pocket) also had a price change from $8 to TBD and yeah, they're not ready yet. Definitely contacting better business bureau; they owe me a sweater. read more

These guys are so nice and are so reasonable to deal with. I just moved to LA and paid $25 to get a sweater with a dime sized hole along the arm pit seam sewed up. While digging in my wallet for the cash to pay these guys (Bob Saget from Full House was next to me picking up about 400 button down shirts which made the pang of over paying a hair less painful), I thought longingly of Pacific View Cleaners. It's always ironic when dry cleaning establishments look kinda, well, dirty. Pacific always has the cleanliness of an empty hospital room plus they don't rip you off just because you have high profile celebs like Danny Tanner popping in for shirt starching. Shesh! Very nice staff! I've been here a few times, both before and after the recent change in ownership. The new owner bought the business from the previous owner and has worked here for a number of years. So, if you used to come here, you WILL see a familiar face. They are Thai and can be a little soft spoken, but I can tell are genuine about doing their best to make sure a customer's needs are fully met and exceeded. With that said, if you're doing something more complicated like tailoring/alterations, be patient and spend the time to explain what you need done. It's honestly not their fault if you don't fully describe what the expectation is. People don't read minds!!! So, given that English isn't their native language, just be aware. I most recently got a maxi dress altered here for my engagement photoshoot. I dropped it off on a Thursday and was told it would take one week - pretty standard. They took my cell phone number and was told they'd call when it's ready for pick up. Mid-day Monday, I received a text message saying my dress is done and ready for pick up. How awesome!! It was done within 4 days! And they did a great job. I had the dress taken in and hemmed. Now I'm super excited to rock it during my photoshoot. read more

They are THE BEST! The girl that works there is super friendly and helpful. Totally respects your wishes, and communicates CLEARLY to make sure she does the exact alterations you asked for. I had her adjust the hem on one of my dresses and take in a leather blazer; both were BEAUTIFULLY done. She even gave me her professional opinion as I was trying them on, since I was unsure how to go about correcting them. This place tends to be a bit on the pricey side, but I would say it's well worth it. They definitely don't try to rip you off; if you ask for an opinion on something, they'll give you an honest answer on whether or not it's worth getting altered. read more
