Food 4/5 Service 1/5 Ambiance 0/5 Online Menu (-5)/5 I recent did a pickup order here, and there's a reason why I don't dine-in here but that's not why I'm writing this review. The call in for the order was completely wrong. The reason it was wrong was the online menu is different than in-store pricing along with some items are different, and possible language barrier. The numbers match from site to in-store, but when we ordered the #4, which on the sites says it has the option of "steamed rice or coconut rice," we were charged $20+ for a large portion, instead of being part of of the #4 lunch special. This caused the order to be completely out of the budge we had in mind. Also part of the order was a #6 lunch special, and instead got the #5. When I arrived to pick up the order (the first time) I was taken back by the amount asked. I paid the asking price because a local said it's the best Thai in Pacifica. Since we got a #5 instead of #6 I drove back to get the correct order, I mentioned the price, he said the site was created over 35 years ago. That does seem right. When I asked for a take out menu, like clock work he apologized and kept mentioning the site is wrong. Credit goes to them for making and providing the correct dish with no charge, but now I've spent more gas and time to go correct my order. The overall experience felt like it a bait-n-switch. Regarding the site: It's not that hard to update some html. Not like their using CMS to build their site to keep their online menu and paper menus true. There a reason this place is not one doorDash. The charge backs would be insane and put them out of business. Order at the risk of over paying. I'll reconsider changing my 1 star to a 3 star if they updated their online menu. read more

We went here twice in one week ! The memory of that coconut soup was haunting us badly! Excellent herbs and spices balanced yet complex , the way Thai cuisine should be ! The restaurant has obviously been there a very long time , and isn't at all showy , but a renovation might raise their prices so I will say it's "cozy". If you don't sit too near the entry door . They also have their own parking lot which is a boon as parallel parking in Pacifica can be challenging although fun to say . The lady who is always there , is very perky and sweet but the man who is always there .... Clearly does NOT want to be there. And he unfortunately ignores all requests and will answer all questions with "depends what you want" ... So just know what classic dish you like , and order that. read more

This place has the best chicken green curry eggplant I have ever had. Hands down, the best! This place is authentic, which makes me like it even more. It reminds me of the time I went to Bangkok. My usual is the beef satay which has tender beef and a great peanut sauce. Their Tom Yum soup has just the right amount of lemongrass and spices and their out of this world chicken green curry eggplant is always the star of my to go orders and before Covid dining in. Their Thai Ices tea is on point and their Pad Thai is authentic and is always fresh and flavorful. I've been coming here for years and hands down the to go Thai tea is huge, like Big Gulp huge and the right flavor! They are super fast on to-go orders so I usually rely on them for my dinner. I am a sucker for some good old authentic Thai food. And the place that caught my attention was none other than "Pacifica Thai Cuisine". Reason being is because this restaurant was only a 2-minute drive from the Airbnb rental that I was staying at. Which is great because I wanted to do my part in supporting a small local business who is going through tough times due to the COVID-19 pandemic (as of 2020-21). To make sure they are open for business, I contact the restaurant around 7:30pm and sure enough they were open as I had arrived promptly at 8:00pm. This was none other on Valentine's Day which fell on Sunday 2/14/2021. Parking was very easy to find as they offer a very sizable lot that is adjacent to the business. Keep in mind that this place does not offer outdoor seating of any kind so everything was strictly to-go/takeout. The interior layout of the restaurant had a very vintage look where this place hadn't had a remodel or refresh in decades. As I entered, an elderly man came out (whom I am guessing is the owner) and took my order. I ended up going with an order of their #67 - "Pad Thai" w/Chicken (for $12.95), their #69 - "Pad-See-Ew" w/Chicken (for $12.95), and a side order of white rice (for $2.00). A word of advice, their website has not been updated in awhile (around 2019) which is why the prices are significantly lower compared to when I entered the restaurant (in February 2021). Fortunately it only took them about 10 minutes for them to prepare my food and the gentleman hands it to me in two large bags. He had no personality and was not very friendly to me at all; even after I said "thank you" and "have a nice evening". I understand small businesses have gone through difficult times but to not be acknowledged in a friendly manner really tarnished the reputation of this restaurant. As I make the short drive back to my Airbnb rental, I was pleased with the sizable portions of both entrees. My Pad-See-Ew was delicious with generous bits of chicken, broccoli, & sauce. However, my Pad Thai just fell flat to me. It lacked any type of flavor while every bite just an overall bland taste to it. There are so many other amazing places to go but I just wasn't feeling the food at Pacifica Thai Cuisine. All in all, this place can be a hit or miss. It has had stellar five-star reviews while many Yelpers only give it one-star. I will have to say that this place was just middle-of-the-road for me. Not great but not awful by any means. The portions are generous but the service was just mediocre at best. With that said and done, I am giving "Pacifica Thai Cuisine" just an average three stars. read more

After dining with some of my work associates, I would have to say that the overall experience at the establishment was near perfect. It was a busy Friday night, but the 5 of us were able to get a table. Our waiter an older gentleman, kept us entertained with quick jokes feeding off of the restaurants vibrant heartbeat. Along with the usual helpful advice on the menu. The food was top notch, coming from small town Colorado, we were pleasantly surprised by the tasteful and vibrant flavors. Some of which my associate Rebeca had never had. The sea food was fresh most likely due to the proximity to the ocean. After living in town my whole life, I never tried Pacifica Thai! My husband got us some takeout (Pad Kee Mao, Egg rolls, Larb, Papaya salad) & it was so amazing! He usually takes me to his favorite spots in the city, but we wanted to try our local thai spot & stay close to home. We will definitely be coming here whenever we want thai food! Pad Kee Mao wasn't on the menu, but they took our order with no problem. They also gave us some complimentary fresh fried shrimp chips that were soooooo good! First time trying Pacifica Thai Cuisine, and we opted for take-out. We called in our order, and picked up our food in about 20-25 minutes. The lady who took our order over the phone and rang up our order was pleasant and efficient. She even gave us some complimentary house-fried shrimp chips and a slice of mung bean cake/dessert--which was a very sweet gesture. Their take-out game is on point: everything was boxed up / packed up with the utmost care. Their take-out containers are high quality and reusable. The soup was tightly sealed in a tub and then bagged in a tied off bag in case of spillage (of which there was none). They even placed cardboard pieces on the bottom of the paper bag to give it more stability and also in between containers so the very hot items would not overheat the cool salad items. On to the food. We ordered: 13. Tom yum kai soup: great flavor with ginger and lemongrass and sourness with juicy tomato chunks that burst in your mouth. Good amounts of chicken and mushroom. A little bit too salty. We did notice that some of the dishes were a bit heavy-handed on the fish sauce, including the soup. We actually love fish sauce, so this wasn't a huge problem, but I probably could have diluted the soup a bit and the salt level would have been perfect. 22. Yum woon sen glass noodle salad: very tasty! Dressing was a bit heavy on fish sauce. Added an extra squeeze of lime juice and that helped balance the dish out. 29. Nuer nam tok with beef: probably our favorite of the bunch. Nice sear/char on the beef, which was tender and flavorful. 49. Moo pad prik king with chicken: loved having lots of spicy sauce to spoon over jasmine rice. Really wish that there were more green beans though. 69. Pad see ew with chicken: while the vegetables had a nice wok char on them, the noodles were missing that searing hot wok treatment and were a bit on the greasy side. We tossed the noodles in a dry hot wok to give them a nice browning/char at home. Value: 5/5, very generous portions and prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants nearby (e.g. Thai Original BBQ and Shine Thai Cuisine in Daly City). Their website is showing out of date prices, but if those website prices were what you were expecting, there is a serious need of a reality check. With the pandemic and inflation, restaurants HAVE to raise prices to stay afloat. Service: 5/5, prompt and pleasant. Appreciated the complimentary house-made snacks and dessert! Our order was correct, complete, and packaged up nice and neat. Really can't ask for much more! Food: This time was about 3/5--some dishes needed a few small tweaks at home. What an awesome surprise this restaurant was. My uncle recommended this place out of all the restaurants we could have gone to in the area, and said they've been there for decades. We were the only people there when we went in, but not long after people started pouring in. The hostess/server was very friendly and.... now here's the part I can't believe, we ordered and then I think only about three minutes went by before we got our food. We each ordered something custom and were assured that they make everything fresh to order, which is why we could get something custom for allergies. I also order a thai ice tea and it was maybe the best I ever had. The prices are very fair. The amount of food you get is pretty amazing, and especially considering how freakin' tasty it was. As someone who is athletic, and had just helped move my uncle into a new house all day, I had a massive appetite. I ate about half my food and was somehow full. It was so good that my face wanted to keep shoveling food into it. Every single one of us at the large table loved our food and drinks. Not a single complaint from anyone, except from me when I jokingly told the hostess that there wasn't enough food (when I couldn't even finish my own food)! I feel like *most* of the bad reviews I'm reading are from idiots who don't know how to treat people, don't know how food works, and don't know how inflation works. It's one of my food for comfort spots in pacifica-- I'm rarely disappointed and try not to think of cleanliness too much so I can enjoy my food. Service and ambiance is a 0-- so maybe just dont eat here if you care about that. the bathrooms are grimey to the max-- i just bring my own hand sanitizer and avoid the restrooms. the owner is not nice and sometimes gets upset if anyone asks something that's just how it is sometimes! I really want to give this place at least three stars, but the rudeness of the owners and the food itself prevented me. I was early to see my friend Dave's band play nearby, so I figured I would get Thai food while I was waiting. When I walked up to the building, I could see through the window that all the tables had place settings, but when I came inside, the gruff owner informed me that it was takeout only. I ordered pad see ew with tofu and waited. I didn't say anything when the price on the bill was higher than it was on the menu; I was hungry, and I figured you always get a larger helping when you order takeout anyway. I paid and waited near the door. It was too cold and foggy to wait outside, and I didn't want to go all the way back to my car, but the owner seemed rather annoyed that I had audacity to wait inside for my order. Anyway, I took the plastic bag from him when it was eventually ready, and I asked him whether he had included a fork. "Yes!" he said, shooing me out with his hands. The bag was super hot, so I drove around for a while and finally parked in the small Sharp Park Beach parking lot (the one near the huge flag pole) near Birch Lane. It had been at least five minutes since I left Pacifica Thai, so I figured the food had cooled enough to eat. Unfortunately, when I finally unwrapped it, part of it had burned through the Styrofoam container. That's how ridiculously and ungodly hot it was. I searched and searched in vain for the promised fork, but the owner hadn't included one. Thankfully, I had a couple of spare forks in my glove compartment, but when I took my first bite of the noodles, I burned the roof of my mouth worse than it had been burned in years, maybe decades. I was really frustrated at this point, so I got out of the car and tried to enjoy the fog, but it was crazy cold outside. I opened the container, made sure it wouldn't fall off the top of my car, and let it air-cool for five or six more minutes in the unforgivingly cold Pacifica fog. When I couldn't take the foggy chill any longer, I got back in my car and started eating. It was still way too hot to eat. I really don't understand what happened. I'm convinced that if I had driven all the way home to San Francisco at that point, my food still would have been too hot to eat. I still was quite hungry, but I was frustrated with the entire experience, so I ate as much as I could get through, slowly, deliberately, taking care not to burn myself on each newly hotter portion as I dug deeper. I don't think I enjoyed one mouthful. It was a large portion, although the last quarter just stayed in my car throughout Dave's show, and my car smelled like Thai food for a week even though I threw the food away right when I got home. It was my most unpleasant eating experience of 2022, but I guess it made a lasting impression on me, so that's good. Dave's show was spectacular, so that was good as well. I'd say that I would give Pacifica Thai another chance, but I value my skin too much to risk it. read more

As I entered the restaurant I was immediately offered a seat. The waiter was an older gentleman of few words. Customer service and friendliness could improve. I tried my usual because it's standard and difficult to mess up. I had the Tom Kah Gai soup and the red curry. The Tom Kah Gai was delicious but the red curry lacked flavor. I was disappointed to say the least. The Red curry needed coconut milk, heavy cream, and love. It was not rich in flavor, it tasted like paprika. It was not seasoned. I had to add salt and wish I had seasoning to fix it. The men's restroom was out of order and the women's restroom desperately needed some cleaning. It was disgusting, I will not go into any detail. It was terrible. Dark dust buildup and dark spiderwebs in the corners. They had a green pass from the health or city department but I'm not sure what are the qualifications or requirements. I will not visit again unless it is deep cleaned. They have a lot of unnecessary porcelain figurines and gods to collect dust. Maybe take out can be a better option but don't dine in. read more

There is a choice of chicken, beef, or pork in the Pad Panang, but I had tofu. It was a combination of red curry, coconut milk, and sweet basil. It was delicious! It was so good that I was tempted to return the next day for more. We ordered coconut rice. I am actually not sure what was served, but it tasted great. It looked like a combination of purple and brown rice. We had the fried banana with coconut ice cream for dessert. So good! I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

It was curdled and so oily. I was glad I ordered two meals so I went for basil chicken and it was so bland. The onions were basically raw and it was just disappointing. The "sticky" rice was wet and when I was pulling it apart I had multiple pieces of hair in the rice so I couldn't pick it out. You are looking at $56. Wouldn't recommend. Got the veggie curry lunch special with no bell peppers. The lunch special was listed on their website for $8 but when I picked it up in the restaurant the total bill was $14.50. When I got home with my curry, I quickly noticed bell peppers in the dish. The other veggies were over cooked broccoli and shredded carrot. The green curry tasted closer to a pesto than a curry. Placed a phone order for lunch pickup and the person over the phone hung up before giving me the total. When I went to pick up the food I realized they overcharged me. Their website prices are out of date and I got charged dinner prices during lunch time despite me making it clear that I wanted it from the lunch menu over the phone. My wife and I got nothing but good vibes from the moment we arrived here. Something I never thought about going to an establishment, are the patrons. Everyone around us waiting for food were kind and spoke to us as if we've known them for years. The owner was there, and came out to greet everyone, walked my wife and I through the menu(because we haven't been here before), and joked with the elderly couple beside us. The restaurant was clean, and pretty easy to find and get parking. Since it was takeout only due to COVID, my wife and I ate at the beachside picnic area just down the street.
