walk in, no tables available for 2 hours. dont give us a wait time, so we ask and they say minimum 2 hours. you cant sit us for 2 hours? no ones leaving for 120 minutes? it takes 10 minutes to make pasta and 10 minutes to eat it. patio has furniture readily available to be seated with fireplaces on, not open tho, make sense. this place can kick rocks. read more

Great prices with classy staff. I'd recommend this pasta destination for anyone looking for quiet dining and good food. Enjoyed the half pasta and half pizza dish. Love the faux newsprint it was served on. If you've never been, it's well worth the visit. BTW They have two amazing multicolored tentacle chandeliers - it's also well worth looking up! read more

The wisdom of the crowd has it right: This place is squarely three stars. Let's start with the positives: The ambience is well thought through with it's decor, furniture and music. I enjoyed being here. The food is ok, as the strategy seems to be smother a dish with one flavor and do that flavor well, which I think they are successful with. For example, I ordered the seafood linguine and it was very creamy. The cream was good but overwhelming. The seafood was not over cooked - thank goodness! Linda ordered the one penne primavera and it was overwhelmingly pesto, and a bit oily. The bread bar is a fantastic idea that could have gotten them four stars but the breads they provide are somewhat low end. Disappointing execution on what could be a differentiator. The bottomline is that if you like the Olive Garden it Cheesecake Factory, this is a big step up. Come try this place. read more

Unprofessional Manager ruined our night. We had fun and I liked Crusted Cod over Linguine but they overcharged us by mistake. The waiter apologized and tried to talk to his manager who came to us and said she wasn't able to refund due to technical issues. She asked me to pay again and the restaurant will refund the amount the next day. It became very complicated in the end and the manager was very unprofessional, she sounded like it was our fault. Finally they refunded us some money that was overcharged. I believe this could have been solved very easily but the manger ( I am not sure if she was an assistant manager or something else) didn't respect us for some reason even though I paid a very good tip. Bottom line: IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE, and that manager should have apologized. read more

We were staying in the Moose Hotel so Pacini was the perfect dinner spot after a very long day of hiking. Our waitress was lovely, and took great care of us. The bread bar is a fun way to start your meal. They have several different flavored butters to put on the bread of your choice, and then you place your bread on a hot grill to toast it up. My family ordered chicken Parmesan (x3), and lasagna. Everyone loved their food! I had the lasagna and I have to say, it tasted home made and was very delicious. I'm not sure why people are giving Pacini such low reviews because our experience was great. If you find yourself in Banff and like Italian food, come check it out. read more

The appetizer salads were really good and the entrées we had were good as well. It was the bread that was brought to the table that was puzzling to me. Never have I been to a restaurant (with prices like this one at least) where they have brought what appeared/tasted like off the shelf store white bread. Two words: bread bar. Giving us something we never knew we needed or wanted (the jury is still out whether we actually do need or want it), Pacini has a massive pantry full of bread slices and a giant grill to cook said bread atop during breakfast and brunch hours. Toasters are for the weak and ineffectual. Here, a commercial gas grill better suited for a BBQ pit master is used to heat up milled wheat products. You could call it a waste - everyone I conversed with was confused by the concept - but I call it genius. I've never been this excited about toast in my entire life. And with several different butters (plain, garlic, pesto, etc...), you'll never be able to brown your bread in a regular appliance again. Aside from this marvel concept, the rest of the menu was pedestrian. Given it's a hotel lobby restaurant, nobody is expecting a Michelin Starred operation, though. read more

We really enjoyed Pacini! The bread bar is amazing. I kind of want to re-do my wedding just to have a bread bar at it. It was included with our meal and was amazing!! There are several types of bread to choose from and 4 types of butter (plain, garlic, tomato basil & pesto) and you can butter it to your liking and then throw it on the little grill yourself. 10/10 would do again. I had the spaghetti with some prosciutto added and my husband had lasagna. We were both really happy with our food. read more

The wait for 2 around 8:00pm we were told was 20 min but it ended up only being 10. Bread bar could be better with more artisan bread, but still novel and good. We had the Smoked duck pizza, which was a clever dance of flavors on my tongue. Also good was the penne prosciutto and arugula. A little too oily and so-so noodles, but had flavor. I had mixed feelings about Pacini from the beginning because of the divided excellent reviews versus horrible reviews. Ultimately, the decision to dine here was simple. It always look packed and it was located in the hotel we were staying in. For such a nice hotel we figured this restaurant would be equally great. Everything my table ordered was just okay. The worse part about the experience was the long wait. We waited over an hour for our food while watching others who were seated much later receive their food before us. Three of us ( out of four) ordered the same entree. Two came out first and the third came out much later. After an hour wait my plate came out with dry and wilted vegetables. It was not edible. The gnocchi was dry and looked like it was made from instant mash potatoes mix. Since I was soooo hungry I convinced myself the chicken was the best part, but it wasn't. The only reason why I'm giving this place a second star is because of our servers and up front customer service. They did their best to accommodate us. They were sympathetic and even knocked off 40% off our bill. Yet it was still one of the more expensive meals I had in Banff. read more

The food here is terrible. I ordered the gnocchi and it was not only stale but seemed like it had been reheated multiple times. The menu is very large but nothing is made well, the food is way too overpriced and not good at all. We are camping in the area and came here for breakfast twice during our stay. They have an outside patio where we sat inside the rope and our dogs sat outside the rope. We both had their new product called a fritella. They have six different versions of this dish. It is wonderful, like a Swedish pancake with ingredients on top. read more

Minestrone is not any better than what you would get from a tin. Service was pretty terrible. Our waitress was focused on a large group and forgot about the rest of her tables, including ours. This Italian restaurant, located in the Moose Lodge, has many choices on its menu. They need a better picture for Yelp, because they have so many better dishes than the one pictured. There's an open grill where customers choose the type of bread they'd like and toast it to their desired level. You then also select the type of butter you'd like. On continuous play, is a silent travel log of Italy making us want to return to that lovely country. The spaghetti carbonara was very tasty. My husband enjoyed his pizza and spaghetti as well. The waitress was attentive. Even though we had our own bottle of water to refill our glasses, we were checked on regularly. The restaurant is quite large, but also very popular, so reservations are suggested. We highly recommend Pacini. read more

Stopped into Pacini's for a quick sandwich on a Sunday afternoon after touring the Fairmont Hotel. The restaurant is nicely set up and the hostess, Petra, was very friendly. We were in a rush, so we ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich to go. We chatted with Petra about her home country, Slovakia while we waited for our sandwich. And while Petra was delightful, the chicken parmesan sandwich was not. Sadly, the bread was mushy, and the flavor just wasn't that memorable. Disappointed.... read more

Wow, I've eaten at the one in Calgary a few times and thought it was ok but this one is bad. The pasta we ordered was extremely over cooked and mushy. The alfredo one I chose had absolutely no flavor. No cheese, no salt, no pepper...nothing. I had to add the bruschetta from our appy into it to be able to eat it. We foolishly went back for breakfast on the same weekend because it was conveniently located in our hotel and it was worse. The scrambled eggs were the worst I ever ate. The service we had was awful. All of the food was below average to inedible. Avoid this place. read more

Honestly, this place has a nice atmosphere, but you have to have never had decent Italian to say anything positive about the food. Gave this restaurant two tries (at two different locations). Pasta was largely flavorless and, when it wasn't flavorless, it was bizarre. The lasagna was unrecognizable as such, it tasted more like minestrone soup. The gnocchi was crispy (which the internet says isn't unheard of, but it was sure unexpected). The other pasta dishes were just had little flavor. Good place to grab a drink. Save your appetite for somewhere else. I don't understand how this place became popular enough to open multiple locations. Full disclosure, I'm originally from New York, so maybe I'm an Italian snob, but I found this stuff inedible. read more

Just checked into hotel and stopped for a late bite. Our server was excellent, even though we waited quite a while for anyone to acknowledge us. Ordered calamari which was the highlight. The meat lovers pizza with added goat cheese was also very good. Ordered a double cranberry mojito which was very disappointing. I couldn't even tell if it had any rum in it and the overall taste was not great. I asked the waiter to confirm the that it had been poured correctly. The bartender tasted it, proclaimed it to be a double, and returned the drink to me with no effort to even ask if I still wanted it. read more

We are here for breakfast. I loved the bread was included with any meal.... I love toast and jam. The food was good but it is def a $$$ more upscale breakfast place bc the servings to me were tapa style and somewhat small in comparison to other breakfast sit down places. This place was in our hotel. It was nice inside and the service was lovely. I will have to minus the 1 star for small options to choose from and serving size in comparison to price. It's expensive so if you are on a budget I would go elsewhere. read more
