We had such a fun time at Patrinos both for food and for entertainment An easy walk from our hotel and once we got there we were greeted with very friendly staff and seated immediately. I hate writing reviews like this. I love to eat out. The server was nice but way overworked. The food was ok, good, average (what our tablemates said) and my New York steak was hammered. The steak was fairly plain, definitely not worth the $40. The sides were very good however, nice creamy potatoes and the gravy was flavourful. The service was great, no concerns there. Poker table available and they have multiple sports playing on their TV's. Overall it was mostly great, though that steak left much to be desired. French onion soup was good. The steak sandwich was very dry. The French fries and onion rings barely warm. Our server was nice but not very attentive. We had to ask for refills and such as she was not diligent on check backs, but when we asked for what we needed she was friendly and responsive. I wish my onion soup had come out first so I may have had a chance to eat the other food while it was some level of warm. One real warning, the women's restroom was a horror show! This was about 9:30 pm, so likely debris from earlier in the day and no one attempting to clean trash from the floor or clogged and messy toilets. There are several toilets, perhaps 4. Two were an assault to the eyes, and likely not working. The other 2. Not great but worked. There is a Dairy Queen next door, that might work out better. read more

Server was told in advance of a member of our parties severe allergy to beef due to a tick bite. She order the ribs with mash potatoes without any gravy. When it arrived to the table the potatoes were coated in a beef gravy that contaminated both the potatoes, ribs and veggies. The server insisted the gravy was made without any beef product but when she brought the ingredients to the table, the gravy mixture clearly said beouf gravy. They reluctantly remade the meal but the waitress' attitude was clearly impacted. read more

We ate there two nights, and the first night the pizza and service (Alex) were excellent. The second night the salmon was very good, but the service (can't remember her name) was lacking. The "starter" salad didn't come until the entree did, and we had to wait a while to get our check. Overall I'd recommend it, though. read more

We came here for breakfast because my grandma said that she had been here before and it was really good. It wouldn't have been my first choice but in the end I'm glad that I did go and listen to my grandma. I have the smoked salmon bagel and a wild berry mix movie and my grandma just had the typical Patrinos breakfast that had eggs bacon and the bacon was overdone by the way toast with jam honey and peanut butter that we got and the hashbrowns. The hashbrowns also came on the side of my smoked salmon bagel as well and the hashbrowns were so good they were shredded. The shredded hashbrowns also had green onion in them. Patrinos was recommended to us by the front desk at the hotel we were staying at. It is a family operated restaurant and has been in existence since 1993. Our server was excellent - friendly, efficient and personable. Great guy. I had a pound of wings and my wife had the Patrino's Poutine. Both were good - not great, but good. He also gave us some fun facts and knowledge about Canada. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants great food and a great environment. The food was all high in carbs and proteins (lasagnas, burgers and pastas) and tasted rich but all well seasoned, too. The atmosphere was dark and moody, but not depressingly so. Service was quite good - our waitress stopped by to talk to us about good places to visit in the area. I wouldn't recommend this to someone looking to satisfy any cravings, but I would say that as far as meals go, the food is both the best value in the area, but also good enough quality that you won't leave the place disappointed. That being said, I would have liked to see a stronger variation in taste - the hamburger sauces taste like marinara sauce, honestly. read more

We chose the pub side which is just more relaxed and has the same menu. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service good. I had a fillet and it was cooked exactly as ordered. It was super moist and tender. Yum yum. Had a baked potato and also ordered the mushrooms with my steak. They were excellent. Great flavor whatever it was. Don't remember. Veggies were also steamed perfectly. My husband had the prime rib medium rare and it was once again great and cooked to order. Beer was cold and service was good. What more can you ask for? Nice spot in the tiny town of Canmore. Went here for breakfast, was pretty darn good food, and great service. The smoked salmon eggs benedict was close to spectacular! Great stuff. My wife had some sausage, breaded-thing, like a meal sized pigs in a blanket deal, also very tasty. I will come here again next time we visit Canmore and Banff Natinal Park. read more
