I was excited to check this place out because I had heard good things. Unfortunately, I feel like it's a bit overhyped. As far as the food, we had the fried mozzarella, which was essentially a log of cheese deep-fried and served over sauce. It was delicious, but the cheese-to-crust ratio was a bit heavy. The Caesar salad looked better than it tasted. It was very wet, if that makes sense, and the lettuce seemed soggy. Now for the Wagyu ragu. This almost made me have a seizure, and not in a good way. It was extremely salty and completely inedible, so we had to send it back. The waitstaff was very accommodating and agreed that the salt level was way off, so we replaced it with the carbonara. I'm not sure if that's what authentic carbonara is supposed to taste like, but I did not enjoy it. It tasted burnt to me and had too much pepper. I also didn't care for the shape of the noodles. Last, we had the Americano pizza. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. I just think that if you're going to advertise a pizza with meat on it, there should be more than one piece of sausage per slice. As far as the service, our server was fine. Not particularly friendly, but straightforward and efficient. The manager (or another server) was helpful when it came to replacing our dish. Overall, I would not go back. Fife & farro is a beautifully designed and intimate restaurant tucked away in the Pullman market at the pearl. There is plenty of seating at the bar and in the dining room and the overall ambiance feels like you walked into some place out of a magazine. Kudos to the designer for making this location so unique and easy on the eyes. If you like instagram worthy locations, add this to your list of places to visit. I sat at the bar where I was able to watch the kitchen hard at work while the bartenders pushed out wonderfully crafted cocktails. I also noticed there's a spot to place to go orders that's bordering the Pullman market and the bar at Fife & Farro which I definitely will be putting to use in the future when I don't have time to stay so long. This time I took it easy and only enjoyed a carpaccio and a Cesar salad but still left overly satisfied. I have to say this is HANDS DOWN THE BEST CARPACCIO I'VE EVER HAD. The Cesar dressing, lemon zest, parm, and fried capers really amplified the experience and had me lusting after this dish long after I left. The Cesar Salad was also amazing. Mine had a little more red onion than I care for but the dressing, ample amounts of parm, and the croutons really outshined that small detail for me. I enjoyed this experience so much that I'm already planning on coming back sometime next week, this time with company so I can check out the pizza & pasta too. Having grown un in San Antonio, we were back for the summer visiting family and friends. This was my first time here at this fine establishment and what an amazing experience all around. Located within the Pullman Market, where it can be very busy with many other patrons. We were able to be seated right away for lunch, but the tables quickly filled up shortly after. Would recommend using their "join waitlist" option through their website to limit your wait time. Out staff, Aylin, did an amazing job and was very helpful throughout this experience. The Caesar Salad was hands-down one of the best I have had. It was a heft portion, enough to share with 2-3 others. Overall, an amazing meal and experience. A must return for us on our next visit. Second time visiting Fife and Farro with some out of town guests! Had a great time though it did not hit that mark as much as last time! Service was not quite as good as our previous visit. It was a little slow at first and we had to wait a bit to get any server, then nothing happened as courses out. We ordered 4 appetizers and 2 pizzas and all arrived together making it cramped at the table and at the end, the receipt just showed with no ask if we wanted coffees or desserts. The food was delicious though I missed the cauliflower dish and potatoes pizza that had previously been on the menu. This is my second 5 star review for this place. It's that good. I returned, ordered the Spicy Girl pizza again, the fried veggies, Caesar salad, and bread. The bread needs a moment of silence. It is that good. Buttery, garlicky goodness! The fried veggies are like a whole meal. You've got to share because it's so much food. It is meant to be family-style, so order with sharing in mind. Pretty cool how they are able to still accomplish a low light ambiance in such a busy and diverse space. Fife & Farro at the Pearl was such a great dining experience that I ended up going back again just a few days later. The ambiance is very cozy and intimate--definitely romantic if you're on a date. I think the restaurant is either part or inside of Pullman Market, which adds to the charm and energy of the space. We ordered the Caesar salad, butternut squash and goat cheese salad, pasta alla vodka, and the Pinthouse pizza. The Caesar salad portion was huge and honestly one of the best I've had. It was incredibly delicious--perfectly creamy, well-balanced, and topped with just the right amount of Parmesan. I could have easily ordered another one just to keep eating it. It was that good. The butternut squash salad was refreshing and nicely balanced, with the squash adding a subtle sweetness, though I still preferred the Caesar. The pasta alla vodka had a little bit of heat from the Calabrian chile, but it was the perfect amount and didn't overpower the dish. The Pinthouse pizza was excellent--the sweetness contrasted really well with the pepperoni and brought everything together beautifully. The food was so good that i completely forgot to take pics AND I came back a few days later and ordered the Caesar salad and pasta alla vodka again. I couldn't remember the name of the pizza (it didn't show up in online ordering), otherwise I would've ordered that to-go as well. Service was also top-notch. We were greeted immediately, asked if it was our first time, and the staff took the time to answer all of our menu questions. We ended up staying late talking and completely lost track of time. Even as the staff began cleaning up, they never rushed us and remained friendly and welcoming the entire time. Overall, an amazing meal, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Friday evening and only a 10 min wait for 2. They text updates so you can browse Pullman market while waiting and it makes time go faster. Maris was a phenomenal waitress! I'm not a fan of Caesar salad but this one was to die for! Dressing was so creamy and delicious. Fife & Farro is by far one of the best italian restaurants in the city! I've been to this restaurant multiple times since their opening last year and their food is delicious, however I think they lack consistency and that's why I am dropping a star for my updated review. I've had both stellar experiences where I leave amazed by their service and food, and then I'll have totally opposite experiences where I can't believe it's even the same restaurant. Regardless, I think Fife & Farro is still worth a chance and a must for all lover of italian food. One of the dishes that I would recommend is their Alla Vodka Pasta, which has the perfect level of spicy and creamy. For starters I highly recommend their caesar salad which is giant and absolutely delicious. My work team came here for a team dinner and it was amazing! Fife and Farro is located in the Pullman Market down by the Pearl. It's a really neat location but the restaurant itself is very beautifully done to stand out amongst everything else in the market We had a very large party and so we had the preset dinner menu, which was served family style and included appetizers, pastas, pizzas, and desserts. The staff took really good care of us, Family style dining can sometimes feel a little chaotic and people are just grabbing at things and it becomes like the dinner scene in Hook. The staff made it all flow very effortlessly and civilized. I think I could've eaten my weight in the focaccia bread, it was so soft and had this delicious garlic butter. The meatballs were large and amazing. The house-made pastas were all so flavorful and the pizza had a very tasty crust. Then the desserts came and even though I was very full, there had to be room for tiramisu. I thought it was incredible; exactly the right balance of the coffee and it was light and airy. The piece we got was massive too, four of us split it and still couldn't finish it. There is a very extensive wine and beverage list as well, so you can pair your drink perfectly to your food. We were looking for a good place to eat on a Sunday evening and decided to venture out to the pearl. Upon arrival we were expecting to have a larger party of about 10 or 11 and they were able to seat us pretty quickly. Some of our party ended up not making it and they voiced no concern or inconvenience when we let the staff know. Honestly our server was great, personable l, answered questions, and was bilingual which was helpful for our particular party. While they were out of a few things on the menu including the pizza of the month. I had an Italian soda which was fantastic I think it was like an orange and vanilla combo. For food I decided on the vodka pasta and added a meatball. The food came out timely aside from one plate which took quite a bit and they ended up coming us for it and they were very kind and attentive about the situation. All the food was great. Mine was definitely my favorite plate with a little spice, fresh pasta, and flavorful sauce and meatball. My pizza had some kind of spicy pizza which was good with that Italian style crust. I also was able to try some caccio e pepe which was good and same with the wagyu beef regular. We had 2 birthdays at the table so we shared a tiramisu and a sorbet, both were good but the tiramisu was so smooth and flavorful. What I appreciate the most about my favorite spots is consistency. I haven't been to Fife and Farro enough to see this, but on my most recent visit, the experience was far less impressive. I will say that the service was fantastic. The hostess was super friendly and engaging. The server offered dairy free recommendations and ways to modify (even if he recommended scampi which is drenched in dairy). We ordered marinated olives, Cesar salad, funghi pizza, Wagyu beef ragu, and eggplant sandwich. Not all pictured unfortunately. The marinated olives were yummy. They are scented with cinnamon and warming spices which was a strange combination, but really worked. Some olives were pitted, some not. The cesar salad was very shareable and piled high with Parmesan. It was fresh and crispy, but the anchovy flavor was very overwhelming to me. I'd rather not know that there are anchovies in my cesar, but there was no denying it. The funghi pizza was okay. It felt like it was lackng on the toppings, except the arugula. There was nothing particularly special happening here. The Waygu beef ragu pasta was perfectly cooked, but the beef ragu was giving over salted campfire chili. I wasn't a fan of the texture of the beef, but I'm sure that's a matter of preference. I think I would have preferred the ragu if it was served as chili and not over pasta. I love eggplant when it's prepared well and had high hopes for this sandwich, but it was another let down. The bread was delicious, soft, and chewy. The eggplant was very vinegary and salty. Although, I think the vinegar made it seem much saltier. I'm any event, it was not a winner. I do like the ambiance and will likely give this another try later. read more

i come here often specifically for their carpaccio, caesar salad, spicy boy pizza, and the alla vodka, but everything i've tried was delicious. one time, the spicy boy came out 3x spicier than usual but it was still delicious, just surprising. service is great despite sometimes there being flaws like my chair being very wet and silverware and plates being dirty when i first sat down. they were quick to apologize and fix the issues for me. ambiance is also great due to the dim lighting and layout of the restaurant. this is very specific but i like how there weren't any TVs, even at the bar. read more

We recently visited Fife & Farro and wanted to share my first impressions. Full disclosure: this isn't my favorite yet, but I'm giving it a couple more tries before passing final judgment. What I tried: * Pizza: Clasico- Slightly overcooked for my taste, did not really like the flavor. * Pizza: Americano - both agreed out of 2 this was better one. Good flavor * Salad: Loved the finely shredded Parmesan--it added a lot of flavor--but it was basically a tower of lettuce, and unfortunately there's no option to add protein. The service was fine, and the space felt comfortable. Why I'll be back: To take food photos I want to try a couple of other dishes before giving a full review--there are menu items that look promising, and I'm hoping to upgrade my experience and maybe add another star. Had a wonderful experience at Fife and Farro. Tucked away in a cozy corner of Pullman Market, you'd never know that this place was inside this bustling market. My partner and I enjoyed delicious pizzas in a lovely ambiance on a bustling weekend evening. It was a good sign that there was a pizza in partnership with Pinthouse brewing and the food bank, one of our other favorite pizza places in Austin. We ordered the Americano (meatball, pesto, red sauce, mozzarella, and ricotta), and the Pinthouse special (sausage, red sauce, hot honey and candied jalapenos). The Pinthouse special was unique in that it came with the sweetness of the candied jalapenos balanced out the slight spiciness, with the Americano pizza being more savory. Thought everyone in San Antonio was friendly till we came here to eat with friends. They do have gluten free pizza, make their own pasta, had garlic bread, they use cauliflower crust. Both pizzas were too well done and not much taste There was Americans and pepperoni Nothing to write home about They made a mistake in one of the orders , fixed it but took awhile Nothing was worth the price. We were acknowledged by our server very quickly, ordered a couple of drinks and some food. The drinks arrived swiftly but the food took a long time. While walling around the District, I knew I wanted to grab dinner. After walking by Fife & Farro, I took a quick peek at the online menu and walked in. It was so good, subtle sweetness with a pop of savory. The rimmer even had parmesan! I also tried some of the Fritto Misto tempura veggies, which were also delicious. They had me at shishito peppers. I ended up having the Lumache pasta for dinner. A potato fondue sauce? Sign me up! The bartender basically said it was a really an amplified mac & cheese. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it was much more. I added on another drink, the Amaretto Fumo. This was something unexpected, almost like a sweet and smoky sour. Pizza is my culinary weakness so I went and checked out the menu, and the girl at the to-go counter was excellent with explaining everything and the freshness of the ingredients. I went with the pepperoni pizza, probably the best pepperoni I've ever had in my life. It has a nice meaty flavor without being excessively, greasy or salty. I got the gluten-free crust and had them cook it a little bit longer, so it was nice and crispy. After eating my pizza, I decided I wanted to go back and try the Panna cotta because again the girl really talked it up and honestly, it was not as fabulous as I had hoped. The texture was much more like boiled egg and not creamy and oddly enough, it was very wet and watery and salty.
