My boyfriend and I come here every year on our anniversary and each time we are just blown away by how delicious everything always is. We usually also get the same thing each time because it's so good. The seasonal cheese and salumi board is what does it for us every time because it's amazing. We also order, The campanelle bolognese and we sub the pasta for gnocchi, absolutely DELICIOUS. The view of the river walk is very beautiful. The only thing about this visit is that it took about 15 mins before our waiter ever came to our table, which i don't really appreciate, but other than that, great experience here as always! I would recommend to anyone seeking an upscale authentic italian restaurant.

Deviled eggs with truffle cheese. Really delicious especially with the cheese!

This restaurant is beautifully nestled next to the Riverwalk and next to the museum. The ambiance is always so nice for outdoor seating, Our waitress was friendly, prompt and nice. Our foods came out quite quickly. The deviled eggs had a fluff of shredded cheese on top which was really delicious especially since it was truffle cheese it made the eggs have more depth. The Caesar salad came out with our entree since we chose not to add a side since we weren't terribly hungry but it made our plate look empty. The Caesar salad was plentiful and was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed it! The crispy skin trout was delicious as always and as perfectly cooked. It has been over 5 years ago when we last came to enjoy the food and Id say they are still quite consistent. The location is always little tricky to find, just go towards the water and you'll be able to find it!

A solid 4 stars. Attended a Bridal brunch. And what a Treat! We were catered to fro. The 2nd we walked through the entrance. Offerings: the ~Claire Cocktail: forgot what all was in it but was a rum based cocktail I did not partake but it sounded Fabulous, Coffee, Tea, etc. the started with their mouthwatering Garlic Bread Basket w/butter. Then followed by a garden green salad w/artichokes it was just ok lettuce was not fresh several brown off colored pieces, then the main entree: Bolognese the pasta was perfection and the meat sauce just right both complimented the other making for a DIVINE dining experience. The dessert was Insane: Chocolate Tart w/nutella mousse was DIVINE, the STAR FOR SURE!!! The SERVERS/Service was Superb! The assured we had everything we needed; Very Attentive drinks refilled without us having to ask. It all came together for a Festive occasion! Thanks Tre Trattoria.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. I like great food, wine, and atmosphere. This place checks all the boxes. The "atmosphere" that is required to be considered "great" to me is intimate, private, and significant, relevant, and unique to its environment. This is full-on San Antonio...on the river, at the museum of art, not overly sophisticated but simply elegant, historically preserved, perfectly decorated. Do not forget...one of the best chefs in our city and divine dishes that have stood the test of time...my favorites are the beet salad, or ask for the trio. They have the BEST pizza I've ever had. I don't even understand how it is so much better than any other pizza, but it is. It would be a shame to get only a pizza because there's so many great pasta dishes, fish, etc...but do NOT miss the Nutella dessert. I don't like Nutella, but this is not like you'd think. It's over-the-top amazing!!!

Went here last august to have a casual dinner. I loved the truffle oil on the deviled eggs. At the time it was really hot and the store's AC was not at all great. Food though, was good. Pasta was al dente and servings were big. The pizza was alright, light, thin and crispy. Our servers were friendly. Although service was a bit slow at first. It's quite hard to locate, its tucked behind a museum.

We loved this place abs the food is amazing!

We loved this restaurant and the food was amazing. The restaurant was very well organized and the staff was excellent.

Food: we had the deviled eggs which weren't too impressive. Boiled eggs, Parmesan and fresh cracked pepper on top with a a smidge of aioli on top of each egg. The "risotto" was far from what an actual risotto actually is. It was seasoned rice with mushrooms and sour cream on top. If you happened to get a bite without the sour cream it was dry. Service: the service was great, the waiter was attentive and came by frequently. Very well mannered. Ambiance: we sat outside and the weather was nice, the balcony overlooked the river walk so it was quite peaceful. The table was elegant and just over all nice.

    Pan Seared Gnocchi

Great food and even more amazing service! The portions were perfect and the food was fresh! 10/10 recommend! If you're struggling to find the restaurant, it's pretty much directly behind the museum. The pan seared Gnocchi and Burrata were TO DIE FOR! 10/10 recommend. There is also seating overlooking the riverwalk outside

The patio really makes this place. It's a great setting and definitely the highlight of the experience. The deviled egg and burrata appetizers were both really good and easily the best part of the meal. The spaghetti and meatballs were just okay, and the service was about the same. Overall, it's a unique spot and worth checking out for the atmosphere, but the main dishes were pretty salty and didn't quite live up to the setting.

I like the warm family style atmosphere. This restaurant is located behind the SA Art Museum and overlooking the Riverwalk. Great atmosphere for an intimate dining experience. I was there with four other adults for dinner. Series's nice. However the food was hit and miss. My friend said his house salad had way too much vinegar and someone else found her pasta dish salty. I ordered Caprese as an appetizer and it was delicious. I also ordered the potato gnocchi. It was a little salty.

This place is a must visit. Such a cozy atmosphere, I would recommend sitting outside of the weather allows, the lights look so overly at night along the river walk. Make reservations ahead of time! Our server was very helpful & gas is recommendations. The food came out fast & was delicious. The pulled to order mozzarella was mouthwatering & the pastas were cooked to perfection!

    Felina S.

The place is hidden within the SAMA and the outdoor area is great seating to people watch and eat as long as it's not too hot out. The service was excellent and friendly The mozzarella was delicious! So creamy Remember that here the pasta is served al dente! Pizza was crisp and creamy as well! The dessert was lemony and warm with great homemade cream on top!

Tre Trattoria made our wedding private ceremony absolutely unforgettable. My husband and I have been big fans of Jason Dady and his team for years, but having them be part of our special day made it even more meaningful. Everything was fantastic--Gia, Sebastian, and Kat were so attentive, sweet, courteous, and gracious from start to finish. The food was outstanding, and the courses came out of the kitchen like an orchestrated symphony. After the event, the staff went above and beyond, helping us tear down and load up all of our decorations. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

What vegan options would anyone recommend? Thanks so much

I don't remember there be any vegan options here. I was not eating vegan at the time but we did have a vegan in our group and I recall it being very limited.

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

Truly every person at the table seemed to love what they ordered -- we had a lot of "you have to try this!" moments being passed around the table. One thing I especially appreciated was the Caesar salad. I noticed another review mentioning the anchovy flavor in the dressing as a negative, but in my opinion, that's exactly what made it great. Not too hot, just that easy breeze rolling off the river like it's got nowhere else to be. I'm there with my daughter and family, and the world's walking by boats cruising, people laughing, a little chaos, a little charm... dinner and a show, no ticket required. Now the food real Italian food. Not the kind that just throws red sauce at you and hopes for the best. This is layered. Garlic that actually means something. Rich, buttery sauces clinging to perfectly cooked pasta like they're in a lifelong commitment. You taste herbs, you taste depth it's the kind of Italian food that makes you slow down mid-bite and just nod like, "Yeah... they got this right." Drinks? As far as the food, we had the fried mozzarella, which was essentially a log of cheese deep-fried and served over sauce. It was delicious, but the cheese-to-crust ratio was a bit heavy. The Caesar salad looked better than it tasted. It was very wet, if that makes sense, and the lettuce seemed soggy. Now for the Wagyu ragu. This almost made me have a seizure, and not in a good way. It was extremely salty and completely inedible, so we had to send it back. The waitstaff was very accommodating and agreed that the salt level was way off, so we replaced it with the carbonara. I'm not sure if that's what authentic carbonara is supposed to taste like, but I did not enjoy it. It tasted burnt to me and had too much pepper. I also didn't care for the shape of the noodles. Last, we had the Americano pizza. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. I just think that if you're going to advertise a pizza with meat on it, there should be more than one piece of sausage per slice. As far as the service, our server was fine.
