I LOVE their Thai beef salad! I've ordered it at other places and nothing around can compare. I try to come up with reasons to go to Ft. Walton just to get their food. The pad Thai is excellent, as is the Thai beef salad, the Thai fried rice and the Tom Yum Koong soup. The service is fast and friendly, the restaurant clean and casual. The food is really great here. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you receive. It's in a really small building and lunch time tends to get packed (especially on Fridays). Service is usually ok, but nothing spectacular. The only negative things are the lack in consistency in service and the business hours are really odd. Lunch and dinner is usually served with a complimentary appetizer, either a spring roll or a small salad (depending on time of day). Our office at Eglin usually picks a local Thai restaurant on Fridays to pick up lunch and, after trying Thai Town recently and not being too impressed, we returned to Pad Thai today. In the past it has been good, with the biggest gripes being trying to ensure the phoned-in order is understood, picking up the correct order and not being consistent with the spice levels. Having lived in Thailand for a couple of years in my youth, I learned to like my food hot, but not "Thai" hot. I have had Thai food in Thailand, on Guam and here in the states that caused my mouth so much pain I could not finish (picture a red-faced, heavily sweating Farang -- Thai for Caucasian -- not a pretty picture). In this case, I went with the standby Pad Thai - Hot; not Thai hot as I wanted to finish my lunch, and also because I'm not sure when it'll actually be hot or when it will be unbearably hot. When our go-fer returned with the vittles, I hunkered down and squeezed the included lime wedge's juice over the noodles, added the shredded cabbage and mixed it in with the peanuts, which were piled in one corner of the noodles. The aroma was enticing. I scooped up the first bite and experienced a shot of hot pepper and other fantastic spices as soon as it touched my tongue. It was hot enough to really notice, but not so much that I couldn't continue. And continue I did, finishing every delectable morsel. I have to say this was the best Pad Thai I have had in a while and the spice level was spot on (just a hint of sweat)! The only shortcoming is the spring roll included -- small and very average tasting, with a mushy feel to it. If it was even close to being as good as the spring rolls at the Sawadee Thai Cuisine restaurant in Niceville, this place would easily get 5-stars. The price for the food is comparable to most places in the Destin-Ft Walton Beach area, and the portions provided are good. I have also had the Larb here in the past and enjoyed it, but also noted the spiciness inconsistency. All in all, I highly recommend Pad Thai for a great batch of Pad Thai. Although I would recommend you eat there or have your own Thai hot sauce available in case you find the heat level underwhelming. Gin hâi a-ròi! read more

My husband and I have been craving some good Thai food and we hit the jackpot at Pad Thai! The spring rolls were fresh and crispy and the shrimp curry had just the right amount of heat and was cooked to perfection. My husband had fried catfish curry and it was superb! I admit I've eaten in only a few Thai restaurants and went to this one because a friend took me there. I thought the food was awesome! I had the seafood curry and it was excellent! Spiced just right, very tasty. The spring roll appetizers were delicious as well. The service was prompt and courteous. I'll be back next time I'm in the area! read more
