We stopped by Paddy Mac's for a drink and to catch whatever World Cup match was on... and what a fun surprise this place was! The inside feels like a pub in England or Ireland. The bar was full, and everyone - from owner to staff to customers - was so friendly. A welcoming environment that's difficult to find these days. The owner chatted with us (they've been open for 30+ years and his two sons work there!) and my one year old thought he was the coolest/funniest/new best friend by the time we left. They had great happy hour specials in food and drinks. We only had the drinks, but will definitely be returning to try out the food. Highly recommend checking this place out. Walking into Paddy Mac's felt like I had been transported somewhere else, perhaps a different decade at that. I felt a little out of place plus the bar area was loud chileee, but feelings aren't always facts so I didn't let that top me from dining. I saw they served fish and chips before I came and I wasn't passing that up. The fish and chips were good. I did have to ask for extra tartar sauce because one serving wasn't enough for me. It also came with coleslaw with raisins. Listen...I know, I know but I wasn't even mad at it. Need a little sweet component in your slaw. Now the desserts - that's where things went left. I couldn't decide between the mini apple crisp and the mini brownie, so naturally I got both. I mean hellooo, they're mini. However, I wish I'd gotten neither. Hard pass on both cause c'mon son, how you screw that up?. Overall, I'd come back for the fish and chips and the friendly service. Came on a Friday night with a group of 21 people. They were beyond accommodating, putting us in the back room where the fireplace mantle is at. We had one server who was phenomenal. For him to be able to take an order of 21 people get everything correct the food to come out within a minute or two of each other for all of us kudos to the kitchen on that aspect, and was still able to get our bills correctly divided is mind blowing. The food was phenomenal. They had a live band come on at 9 o'clock at night the Andrew Morris band and they were a great cover band that played almost every genre of music. After eating here for the first time last week, I kicked myself for not having eaten here sooner. If you ever had a bad experience at Paddy Mac's I don't know what you ordered but TRY AGAIN! We came in around 830pm, the Kill Billies band was setting up to begin their set and the place had about 25 customers. We were greeted immediately, seated and brought warm, homemade scones with Irish butter (Read that again!) We ordered corned beef and cabbage and soup to start. If this was all they sold, I would still come back. That's how good it was (and they'd have to keep the scones of course). We ordered Fish and chips and Shepard's Pie for entrees--I mean everything was a home run! When the band started playing rockabilly Irish twinged folky music live?!?! I never wanted to leave. I was in Heaven. Service was fantastic (we were even offered more scones on the house and we responded with a resounding g hell yeah!!) I can't wait to go back. The ambiance was just perfect and if I was still a drinker I would have had a Guinness Extra Stout on tap to top off the night! Took my son and his friend for lunch. We had a great time and enjoyed the food and drinks. I thought it would be fun to mix things up and do a "pub thing" for lunch. As you would expect, this is an Irish pub and the interior is cozy and warm. The music is Irish and at a nice volume. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. We got the run down on the potato chips which sold us to try them. The scones are fantastic to nibble on while waiting on your order. We had Guinness and Harps to get going. As always, they were perfectly pulled. We all ordered the corned beef sandwich and were pleased. They have a new to me side of house-made potato chips. They are thin and crispy. Literally they are crisp and crunch. We were blown away. But back to the corned beef. They cook it in house and make sure to limit the fat when serving it. This is the most authentic Irish pub in the area! The food is great with some Irish favorites.

We dined here on Sunday before St. Patrick's Day. VERY disappointed in the food and service. My mixed grille was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather, and my mashed potatoes were cold. It seems that my dish was prepared the day before and reheated. My partner's fish and chips were very good, but he had to request tartar sauce (which should be served WITH fish) at least 3 times. I also had to request more butter. All food came out very slowly, even though we had an early reservation. The atmosphere was like that of an Irish pub, and there was entertainment. Note to all servers: when asked for condiments, please bring them out BEFORE the entree so our meals don'y get cold while waiting. read more

This restaurant SCREAMS Irish Pub. The decor, the owner (or manager, maybe host not sure; he was just obviously Irish from his accent) and obviously the food. We started off trying their Corned Beef and Swiss Fritters along with their Ground Chuck Beef Slider. The fritters were good and probably my favorite thing we tried that evening. The slider is just ONE slider. We didn't notice on the menu that it's not plural so we were shocked when only one slider came out. It was good but not great. The fritters were $15 and the slider was $9. We also got a basket of scones that come with the table and those were surprisingly really good! Very buttery and soft with a hint of sweetness from the raisins. For entrees we had the Shepherd's Pie and the Fish and Chips. Both were okay. The Shepherd's Pie was fine, I think it just had too much herbs for our liking. The fish in the fish and chips was fried cod. Again, it was fine but kind of bland. I believe that's standard for it to be simple since you're supposed to dip into tartar sauce but I didn't really like the tartar sauce. It didn't add enough flavor for me. Tasted too much like mayo. Our server was very friendly. Everyone is actually super nice! I took my sister and our elderly lady friend out for dinner at Paddy Mac's while in town visiting. We sat on the patio because the inside was filled with a bunch of screaming young boys that were part of a youth soccer team. This wasn't a big deal since it was a nice night to sit outside. We started out with the crab stuffed mushrooms and 3 glasses of wine, which were all fine. Then we all ordered the dinner special, Prime Rib prepared medium rare, but what we received was as thin piece of raw beef that as tough as shoe leather. In fact, when we tried to saw through our pieces of meat, our plates moved all around the table. Prime rib is supposed to be tender! When we complained, the waiter apologized and took the beef back to the kitchen to cook more but it still came back tough and not at all like a tender piece of prime rib. The waiter then asked us if we wanted to try replacement and we agreed but it too was undercooked and too tough to chew. We told the waiter that we were still not satisfied and wanted to order something else. This is where things got ugly. Several minutes later the owner came to our table, but he did not apologize or offer a solution. Instead, he immediately started yelling at us stating that we are wasting his money and demanded that we pay for the full price for our meals. Then he stormed off into the restaurant. I decided to go inside and asked to speak with the owner privately. I could tell by the scowl on his face that he was still very angry and that made me feel very uncomfortable. I explained that we would pay for the appetizer and wine that we consumed but that we had no intention of paying for the raw pieces of tough beef that was served to us. He said nobody else had complained about his beef so we had to pay for it and if we didn't, he would call the police on us! I told him to go right ahead and call the police. It wasn't like we were attempting to walk out without paying anything and I'd be more than happy to explain our side to the police. At this point, he pretended to call the police and then started to yell and call me a bunch of curse words in front of a watching audience of staff and customers. I couldn't believe he was so enraged and was being so belligerent. I returned to our table and waited with my sister and lady friend for the police to arrive while he stood several feet away glaring at us and continuing to call us names. Of course, the police never arrived. Finally, the waiter came over with our bill for the appetizer and glasses of wine sans the raw beef entrees. Apparently, the owner finally realized his bluff was not working and that we were not intimidated by his rudeness and bad behavior. I paid the $66+ bill with my credit card and gave the waiter a $20 cash tip for his efforts. Afterall, it wasn't his fault his boss acted like a jerk. Plus, I didn't want to take the chance that the owner would keep the tip from the waiter. Upon leaving, the owner growled at us and said to "never darken his door again", which we responded, "don't worry, we won't!" read more

The ambiance once inside - it is in a strip mall - is typical of such an establishment and the looks and feel are of a bona side American Irish pub. Reminds me of this Irish pub I used to frequent on Clement street in San Francisco just a few blocks from our house. I drank and are at the bar. Friendly and attentive barmaid so happy with the service. I ordered two apps: the mushroom caps and the slider. Wow. This Irish pub is in a usually very crowded plaza, but you won't notice the traffic because the restaurant is "tucked" behind a corner. The interior is roomy and has a nice bar, but when we stop here, we like to sit and chill in their "comfortable" outside patio, which right after 4pm will fill up of regulars in different work attires for a chat with friends. We normally come here just for a beer, usually a Guinness, which we accompany with an order of fries or smoked salmon. We had dinner a few years ago but we weren't very impressed of the food at that time: maybe it's time to try it again. Guinness as always was excellent, and Shepherds pie was good, creamy, warm and cheesy. Flavors are not super bold but that was expected. Irish food is not known for bold flavors. My husband had the ribeye steak with potatoes and vegetables and he really enjoyed his dish. Others reviews mentioned that they have the best food in town, I would definitely challenge that. Food was good but not espectacular. But again, you go to an Irish pub for good beer, fun atmosphere and decent food. Service was also nice and personnel were all very nice. My wife and I came here for our anniversary. We've been here before a few years ago and have been meaning to come back for a while. We left disappointed. The place was pretty quiet. No wait for a table, but the one we were seated at was sticky. We ordered two Paddy Mac Red beers to start. The picture below will show how we received a little more than half a full glass of beer. I didn't make a big deal about it. Figured it was a simple mistake but the second round arrived the same way. Should have said something to the server but it was my anniversary and I was caught up in conversation with my wife. We were disappointed that there appeared to be no corned beef selection on the menu aside from some very delicious apps with corned beef. The food was mediocre at best. The chicken pot pie was...chicken pot pie. No surprises there. My wife got the grill plate which was dry and didn't have much flavor. Service was very friendly however not very attentive. We got a walking "everything okay?" one time & no plates for the appetizer/bread. The hostess seated me at my very own booth #score :-) I was greeted by my server Loren D and she was geninue friendly. Tonight was definitely an excellent experience and all my boxes were checked off. Loren D brought out a basket of bread with scoops of butter. I love bread and always have a habit eating too much of it before my actual entree. I went with a shepherd's Pie which has lamb and ground beef along with cheese hubba hubba yummy in my tummy. Loren D suggested drizzle some hot sauce mmmm :-) I was so stuffed like a turkey man but made a tiny bit of room for dessert. The dessert treats for 2.95 is definitely a must and I got a Creme Brulee....oooooo "mama like" its like eating that heavenly goodness after each spoonful. I tend to avoid Irish pubs because I'm not a big fan of Irish folk music and absolutely hated Riverdance. On top of that my ancestors, who were Norman, invaded their country in the 12th century. Apparently they didn't like the music, either. Paddy Mac's ambiance unfortunately features Irish folk music but compliments with a full and surprisingly diverse menu. The decor is consistent with the theme. The hit of the meal are the homemade breads that come with the table. That is a nice touch and a great starter. Those are excellent. I also give the service high marks, though I don't know how the host holds onto an Irish accent living in Florida. My wife had the filet, which was cooked to her preferences and came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had the prime rib, medium rare, which was somewhat bland in flavor and slightly tough. I had to saw on it a bit and found myself wishing for one of my ancestor's battle swords to help cut it. Although I do owe them for my family pillaging their country, for $28 the portion was, in my opinion, slightly spartan. Overall, I like Paddy Mac's, despite the Riverdance atmospherics, but at $30 a head for dinner and $9 for a side salad, you can find better food and better value elsewhere. read more
