One fine Saturday morning, wifey and I decided to finally give Helic International Bistro a try, and honestly, we're glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated by really friendly staff. The decor caught our attention right away, it's beautifully done, cozy, clean, and has a really nice vibe. You can tell they put some thought into making the place feel welcoming rather than just another breakfast spot. One little thing I really appreciated was the condiment tray on the table. It had all the hot sauces and other condiments we needed, so we didn't have to keep flagging someone down every time we wanted a little extra sauce. Small detail, but it makes the dining experience easier. Now, let's talk about the drinks! We tried the iced tiramisu latte and the Nutella latte, and both were ah-mazing. We honestly weren't expecting to like them as much as we did. The Nutella latte especially felt like a dessert and coffee had a very happy meeting. For breakfast, wifey went with the classic breakfast, while I ordered the all-meat omelette. Everything tasted fresh, the ingredients were nicely prepared, and the portions were satisfying without feeling like the plate was just piled up for the sake of it. My omelette was packed with meat, onions , bellpeppers and had plenty of flavor, while wifey really enjoyed her classic breakfast. What stood out to us was that the whole experience felt genuinely welcoming. The staff was attentive without hovering, the food came out nicely presented, and the atmosphere made it easy to sit back and enjoy a slow Saturday morning together. I can see why people are talking about this place. Helic has that neighborhood-bistro feeling where you can come for breakfast, grab a good coffee, relax, and not feel rushed out the door. It also feels like a place where we'll need to come back because there are still plenty of things on the menu we want to try. First visit was definitely a good one. The Chicken waffle Benedict was fried hard, almost burnt and it wasn't that big of a piece of meat. The servers were friendly and regularly checked on me. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and they have various seating options of party sizes and bar seating. For brunch, we decided to try Helic International Bistro, and of course I had to order the eggs Benedict--it's a classic for me and an absolute must if it's on the menu. I really enjoyed it! The hollandaise sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, and the poached egg was cooked beautifully. My only small wish was that the English muffin had a little more crisp to it so it could hold up better with the sauce and egg. It got a little mushy, which isn't my favorite texture. Other than that, it's a great choice if you love a classic brunch dish. My hubby ordered the classic breakfast with a pancake, and of course I had to steal a bite One thing that really stood out to me was how much they let you customize your order. Scrambled eggs--soft or hard? Bacon--soft or extra crispy? They really make sure you get exactly what you want, which I always appreciate. As for the classic breakfast, it was good! Nothing super standout, but sometimes a traditional breakfast done right is exactly what you're looking for. Service wise we ordered pick up and it was done really fast and still hot when we got it home. They are always nice and welcoming. The restaurant is a vibe also! I really enjoyed my visit to Helic Int'l Bistro which is open for breakfast and lunch. The place was kind of empty on a Tuesday at 2 PM when I showed up. It is spacious and cute and has outdoor dining area . A fabulous place for an intimate or a large party brunch. I had researched a place to get a steak sandwich nearby and this place popped up. I had never heard of it even though I'm in the area for lunch a couple times a month. They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, but there wasn't exactly a steak sandwich. There was a Philly steak sandwich and then there was a Ny steak and egg breakfast so I asked if I could have NY steak that they serve for breakfast on a hoagie roll as a steak sandwich and they were happy to accommodate me. The steak sandwich was lovely. It's not the cheapest, but nobody is having cheap steak sandwiches these days. They also have cocktails and TVs with sports on. My friend wanted to try a new brunch place and this was the one we settled on. Since then we have visited twice. They have a good amount of vegan options, but my favorite is the classic bacon and eggs. It comes with two eggs, two strips of bacon, one slice of sourdough toast or an English muffin, and breakfast potatoes or fruit. Usually to drink I get the Strawberry Matcha Green Tea Latte. All of the ingredients they use are fresh and tasty. The only two things I don't like is that they give two strips of bacon when most places offer three and though the Strawberry Matcha Green Tea Latte is tasty, it's heavy on the ice. The interior is really nice and classy with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Plus they have a bar and offer a wide variety of non alcohol and alcohol beverages. Came here on multiple occasions with my family, but I want to highlight our experience the day we came with a group of about 20+ guests. Our family had a mini reunion after celebrating the life of a passed loved one & decided to have brunch here without any prior reservations. Although they seemed busy, they quickly and efficiently organized and set up the patio area for us. The server who took our orders was so nice and made sure we were all taken care of. Food did take some time but they checked in on us and kept us updated. Overall, food was incredible and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. Their menu had so many options to choose from but so far everything that others and myself have tried, did not disappoint. We went on Super Bowl Sunday for brunch, and we had fantastic service from Alicia. However, I didn't enjoy my meal - I ordered the crispy crab sandwich $23 from the brunch special menu, and it was not good. The roll it came on was soggy, the onion was extremely sharp since they served the core of the onion only, and the crab patty itself was not crispy and seemed microwaved. I also did not enjoy the sweet taste from the chunks of imitation crab meat used as a filler. Barely any real crab at all :( :( My partner got some kind of carne asada breakfast, and the meat was overcooked and tough. However, he still thought it tasted good. lol It's been a year since we last dined here, and I loved it back then. I think if we go back, I will stick with the chilaquiles! We've been looking for good places to eat in the Natoma area. We found one! This was recommended to me by a family member and I'm so glad I followed up on her recommendation. We've now been there twice in the last two weeks. It's a small family owned restaurant. We met the owner yesterday, Laura. She was absolutely lovely. It's very clear why this place is consistently so good. They care about their customers. Service is fantastic. When we were there, breakfast, lunch and brunch were available. They have a selection of a lot of different things from eggs, sandwiches, crêpes, waffles, French toast, omelettes... So many things! On both occasions, we were also pleased with our food. I had the vegetarian omelette, the first time and yesterday the chipotle shrimp crêpes. OMG! Divine! I have it on good authority that the crab Benedict is also excellent. It's a small place in a strip mall, but it's worth hunting down. They even have a bar and the drinks looked pretty good. It was too early for us. Highly recommend! read more

I will say up front that I struggled with a 4 or 5 star rating. The hospitality here is the likes of which you rarely encounter. We were so warmly welcomed it was almost getting hot in there. There is clearly pride of ownership here. The space is clean, open, and inviting and offers a large patio for those seasonal months. The chairs were nicely padded and super comfy. Here's where the rubber meets the road. It was such an enjoyable experience from a service point of view but I felt the food just slightly missed the mark for me. My husband loved his Italian omelet btw. My eggs Bennie were okay. I am not a fan of the rosemary potatoes at a few of the other breakfast spots around town and equally not a fan here. Rosemary is a strongly flavored herb that I just don't care to greet in the morning, but that's on me. The thin, tasteless hollandaise is a misstep. It's the reason for ordering a Bennie and this one missed. That being said, the food is good and we will be back. read more

I came in for Sunday brunch at Helic International Bistro with a friend, and what started as a pleasant morning ended in a frustrating and unnecessarily embarrassing experience. At first, everything was great. We enjoyed a reasonably good meal, had brunch drinks, while listening to smooth jazz and spent time catching up. When we were finished, I asked for the check. Instead of being presented with a paper bill, the electronic payment device was placed in front of me. The total looked correct, so I paid using Apple Pay, watched the confirmation come through on my iPhone, and even received the receipt by text. As we were preparing to leave, my friend stopped briefly for water, and that's when things went sideways. The waiter/bartender approached us and asked if we had paid. Since I had covered the bill, I said yes. He seemed confused, so I offered to show proof of payment. I showed him my text receipt, asked if he was satisfied, and he said yes. Moments later, the manager approached us and asked again about the bill. Again, I was asked to prove payment--this time in front of other customers. At that point, I felt insulted and publicly embarrassed, as though I was being questioned over whether I had tried to leave without paying. I showed proof again and even texted the receipt directly to the manager. As I was leaving, they handed me a paper receipt. Once I got to my car and looked at it closely, I realized it wasn't even my order--it was someone else's tab entirely. I had to go back inside and explain their mistake to them while they were still standing there trying to figure out what happened. Instead of simply owning the error, the manager tried to backtrack and imply he had been trying to explain that all along, which felt like gaslighting and made the situation even worse. The difference between the two tabs was only about a dollar, but that was never the issue. The issue was being repeatedly questioned, inconvenienced, and made to feel like I had done something wrong because of their internal mistake. A perfectly nice Sunday brunch was completely ruined over something that was not my fault. In my opinion, the meal should have been comped for the inconvenience, embarrassment, and poor handling of the situation. Instead, all I received were apologies. Mistakes happen. How a business handles them is what matters--and unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression. read more

Helic is the perfect brunch spot! Not to mention, breakfast served all day for people like me who love brunchin' but can't seem to wake up early enough to make it. Not going to lie.. The location sucks. It was far, hard to find, tucked in the corner of a dirty rundown plaza. Helic was a breath of fresh air for that plaza. Walking in, the place was bright, oozing in boho vibes with plants, rattan baskets, and wicker decor everywhere. Reminded me of a restaurant you'd find in Tulum, Mexico. The back patio was even cuter. We ordered their most popular benedicts. Crab Benedict 5/5* This is a seasonal menu item but it should be permanent. The crab cake was fried to perfection! Not oily, thin crispy outer shell and soft, creamy crab mixture inside. The poached eggs... wow! Also perfection. The eggs are sourced locally from The Village and the creaminess of the potent orange color of the yolk proved that they were top tier. Those eggs were so sexy they deserve their own OF page. First bite, the crunchy and creamy textures worked well together, and the flavor was an intense seafood sweetness. Most crabcakes are bland or smothered in Old Bay seasoning. This one tasted like eating a fresh crab. I opted for the side salad, which was refreshing to balance out this dish. Bacon, Avocado, Egg Benedict 3.5/5* After trying the amazing Crab Benedict, this one paled in comparison. It was same same, but different. Same sexy eggs, same sauce and English muffin, but the textures were instead creamy avocado and crispy salty bacon. The bacon strips were so crispy, had good thickness, and added that much needed salt. I prefer a crisp fry versus bacon though, and felt this benny was lacking more ingredients. House potatoes were crispy and fluffy inside, but a bit heavy paired with the Benedict. I'd recommend the side salad instead. Horchata Latte 5/5* Not too sweet and tasted very cinnamon-ny. The horchata flavor was definitely present. It came in Mason jars, with a swirl of whip, dusted in Cinnamon. Very visually appealing. Nutella Coffee 4/5* Tasted like a Mocha with a hint of the distinct hazelnut Nutella flavor. Same cute Presentation and was enjoyable. Service was exceptional. This new restaurant took over and remodeled the old neighborhood bar, Cheers. Cheers had been a staple in Natomas for YEARS! I was happy to see it go, though. And happy it was being turned into a locally owned restaurant. I was excited to try it out. I came in one morning to place a to-go order. The restaurant was beautiful! I loved the fall decor. It was so clean and fresh smelling. The hostess/waitress welcomed me in, and offered suggestions when I told her it was my 1st time. I ordered a steak salad medium rare. And avocado toast w/scrambled egg that came with mixed greens for my mom. It was expensive! I think I paid somewhere around $60-something! I did not open it until I got home. The first thing I noticed was there were two salads in my bag. I thought they forgot the avocado toast. But as I examined one "salad" to see what else was in it, there I saw the avocado toast buried beneath the greens. And at first, it looked like egg on top of bread. You couldn't even see any avocado from the sides. So I scraped the egg off to make sure there was avocado on there. And I kid you not, you can see the picture for reference, there were a few little cut up pieces of avocado on the toast. I couldn't believe it. As expensive as this meal was, they put this minute amount of avocado on this piece of soggy bread that you can't even call toast. The only crispiness it had, was barely around the edges. Other than that, the "toast" was literally soft and soggy. I went on to my steak salad and immediately noticed the steak was well done. I hate well done steak. It just doesn't taste as good. The actual salad and dressing was great though. The produce was very fresh. Luckily I was close by, so I returned the avocado toast... that wasn't edible. My salad was! The manager was apologetic, offered a re-do but I said no. My mom wanted something else at this point. She then gave a refund. I hate that this happened because it really turned me off of this place. Is it too expensive? Yes. But with this exact ambiance mixed with excellent food... It would have been worth it to come back and dine-in. read more

I found a new brunch spot, and it's delish! Helic is that unlikely place, that you should try. It's new to the South Natomas area, and in the corner of the awkward strip mall. The staff is lovely, and very welcoming. Seating is plentiful both inside and outside. Helic offers breakfast/brunch, lunch, and dinner after 4pm. Everything on the menu sounds tasty! They offer a variety of food options/choices. We ordered the avocado toast with the sunny side up eggs, and the bbq bacon cheeseburger. The toast was filling and tasty. The avocado was tasty, but definitely could've used seasoning. The burger... it was super juicy and delish. It had the perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and a yummy onion ring on it. The fries were crispy, and could have used some seasoning. I added salt, but wanted something more than just salt. The service is impeccable, and our drinks were kept refilled, as well as our water glasses. Did I mention that the staff is super friendly?! We honestly loved our experience here! The food was amazing. The chilaquiles were a 10/10, seriously some of the best we've had at a restaurant. The salsa tasted homemade and full of flavor, and adding steak was such a great choice. So good and satisfying. The Benedict was also really delicious, I'd rate it about an 8/10. We also tried the horchata latte and the lavender latte, and the lavender latte was our absolute favorite, not overly sweet, perfectly balanced. The decor and overall atmosphere were beautiful. We loved the natural plants and aesthetic of the space, it felt calm and welcoming. Service was 10/10 as well, very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We went around 9AM on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all, which made for a really relaxing breakfast, but it did start filling up by the time we left. A little disappointing experience, after reading all the good reviews. Service was slow and food was underwhelming. The 2 male servers we had were very sweet and polite, so maybe they were short staffed at that time, and the kitchen was just backed up, but regardless, not sure I'd come back for another visit. We were there for 2 hours, and it seemed like more than half of that time was just waiting for things (taking our orders, receiving our drinks and food, waiting for requests (pico de gallo and the check). We liked the horchata lattes, and my sis enjoyed her chilaquiles. My meat lovers omelet was bland and the country potatoes were under seasoned and not crispy, like I asked for. My English muffin was over toasted. My husband's chorizo omelet looked very plain and sad. He asked for extra avocado but it didn't look there was any extra. All of us who ordered omelets were disappointed with the lack of flavor. They were edible but not satisfying. Someone ordered the bacon avo waffle bene (one of the more popular dishes, according to our server), but they didn't care for it at all. Overall, I'm glad I got to try out one of Sacramento's newer brunch spots. This place looks amazing inside. Tucked in the corner next to grocery outlet this is an unexpected charm. There is inside and outside dining. All staff appears to be very customer orientated and adept at what they are doing. They offer a nice bar which contains several TVs which were playing sports games this morning. We order the steak and eggs. A much larger portion that we expected. The steak and egg came with fresh fruit and a couple slices of bread. The egss are done perfectly in the fruit, nice and fresh. Only opportunity on th8s visit is that the steak requested medium was overcooked and need a but more seasoning. We also ordered sweet potato fries. They were done to the exact perfect crispiness.In yummy. We also had a breakfast crepe. This also exceeded expectations on size. All the ingredients are fresh and put together perfectly. This for me is a two meal.plate. Prices are on the higher side but as ridiculous as some and the portions balance this out. read more
