    Complimentary bread and butter

wowzer talk about a delayed review. Came here twice and the second time was such a disappointment. My company wasnt a fan of his order and I didnt see anything on the menu worth ordering but I decided to grab something while he ate. My Olive Oil Cake super dry ice cream was delicious. The guest at a nearby table and I locked eyes after I she saw my disappointment in the first bite. We both kind of chuckled. As they were leaving the woman leaned in and whispered they weren't a fan of the dishes either and would be going elsewhere to grab another meal. The ambiance and vibe of the place is nice but aesthetics aside I wouldn't return to eat. So disappointed since the last time I ate here I salivated at my ordered. Maybe I will give this place another try another time but this last trip was not appealing and downright disappointing to say the least.

I got together with one of my friends from high school yesterday, and she had suggested Grange for dinner. I immediately jumped at the oppurtunity. The space is beautiful. Gorgeous wine glasses and lovely dishware. Smaller portions, so eat alot before or order lots. There was a complimentary bread service with bread from ACME in San Francisco. I love ACME, so no complaints here. Loved the cultured butter. I would stay stick with the wine here. I had a cab that was divine, esp in the glasses they had. It was probs bold to order crudo 2 hours inland, but it sounded/looked good, so we risked it. We had the hamachi crudo with rose petal vinegar, pickled kumquat, lemon oil, and nasturtium. I really enjoyed the kuquat addition. The plating was beautiful. I know blue cheese is controversial, and I can appreciate the controversy. I, however, LOOOVE it. Sue me. My friend feels the same way, so we had the radish and blue cheese with point reyes bleu cheese, apple, celery, grape, candied pecans, apple cider vinaigrette. The celery and grape were unexpected, but paired very nicely. Since they just transitioned to the spring menu, we decided to get somthing that screamed spring: snap peas. The dish was charred snap peas with harissa lebnah, white chocolate vinaigrette, and picked herbs. I did not get any of the chocolate flavor. I was expected the sauce to be mixed in, but they were served side by side. The sauce was good, but I wish it was mixed. It was way spicier than expected but in a good way. For our entrees, we both had pre looked at the menu and had pre decided we both wanted themiso black cod with the thumbelina carrot, charred bok choy, sesame crumble. Also on the plate was pickled purple daikon. This was such a good bite. I could have eaten a whole bowl of that stuff.

Enjoyed an unforgettable time at Grange to celebrate the besties birthday. I had previously experienced Grange, who hosted a Yelp event so the decision was simple. I first have to discuss the service and experience..12/10. Everyone we engaged was kind, greeted with a smile, some brief laughs, asked if we needed anything, made dinner recommendations, checked all the boxes..perfection. To get started we decided on the fried burrata, farm greens and the amazingly delicious wild mushroom soup that we could not get enough of. For entrees we enjoyed the short rib, swordfish, and the pork chop. Everything was incredible. Grange is the perfect venue for date night, dinner with friends or celebrations.

Such a lovely little spot for brunch. I believe it's connected to a hotel because it definitely gives those vibes! After a bit of research for brunch in the area, we decided to go with Grange just based off of the menu. Noted that the prices do seem a little higher especially for the area but I believe you're paying for the aesthetic and obviously that it is connected to a hotel. We were all so excited about the crème brûlée french toast and the pork belly benedict. It all sounded so so good and it was! The crème brûlée toast reminded me of the greek yogurt toast hack on TikTok but obviously a lot sweeter and more of a dessert than a healthy alternative. It was so tasty! The pork belly benedict was really delicious as well. Pork wasn't dry and the hollandaise sauce complimented the pork belly very well. Now usually when we are given a side salad, we more than often are not the happiest; however, this was not your ordinary side salad, the sauce was to die for! So fresh and savory. I loved it. Definitely curious to see their rotating brunch menu because I know it will all be good.

I've got mixed feelings about Grange, perhaps because they are inconsistent. The ambience and energy is consistently warm and lively. This is especially true of the bar area where the bartenders are friendly, skilled mixologists who are good vibes only. The food? Hit or miss. Dinner last night was a HUGE miss. $44 for Mary's Chicken, on a bed of gigante beans, charred summer squash, topped with shishito peppers and toasted pepita salsa verde. Sounds yummy, right? It didn't live up to its description or beautiful presentation. Under seasoned chicken (I asked for salt), undercooked beans. I have no idea what they did to those shishito peppers to make them dry and stringy. The salsa verde couldn't mask what was a disappointing plate from start to finish. Mary would be disappointed. The good news? The wine recommendation from the bartender was brilliant.

Flawless service, tasty and unique dishes. We enjoy dining here as each dish was so delicious and well constructed, they entertained my tastebuds throughout for my birthday dinner. Halibut and pork chops were both perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. And my absolute favorite was the roasted beets starter. The smoked halibut mousse in the center was so delicious together with three kinds of beets. I wish I was able to order another. Casual setting but tables are not close with each other, so it felt private enough. I'd like to come back to try other unique and delicious creation!

Came down from the hotel to have one drink before waiting for my coworkers for dinner. Staff was very friendly, and the ambiance was great! The Old Fashioned was stiff, in a good way. I don't feel I can rate higher than 4 stars though, since I only had one drink. But it, and the vibes, were enough for me to say, "I should eat there next time."

Came to a private party on a Friday night, from the host to the server and even the chef, the service was wonderful. We ordered off the regular menu and the bar bites menu. While I tried a lot of food my favorite bite by far was the special ordered deviled eggs and the Brussels sprouts! I had come once before and the food was consistent. I know their head chef had just changed but it was good still. Inside was well decorated and clean. Overall I'd come back! But would like to try more on the menu

Visited December 17th..see my receipt as always. This is a contemporary and upscale restaurant located inside the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento. After doing alittle Christmas shopping we decided to have a late lunch. My boyfriend and I shared the burger that came with some delightful and slightly crunchy fries. It was the right amount of food to share! I also had a nice glass of Clos Pegase wine ( used to be a wine club member) and he had their special old fashioned. He said it was the best he had! It is modern with plenty of seating along with bar seating . They also have second floor seating. They do a steady business there! The lunch prices were reasonable and the atmosphere is a business casual vibe. Very clean inside. The staff is friendly ( thank you Haley!) and I will definitely come back! It can accommodate small or larger groups. Great experience!

Was staying at the citizen hotel for the night and got a credit for the restaurant. I liked the decor here. Had an industrial vibe. The restaurant wasn't too busy and we got seated quickly. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the carnitas hash and my partner ordered the breakfast combo with a pancake. The hash was pretty good only note would be that the spice in the hollandaise didn't come through very well but the eggs were poached perfectly. My partner really enjoyed the breakfast sausage which were sweet and savory. The pancake was cooked just right crispy on the bottom and tender inside.

This restaurant is in Citizen Hotel it's gorgeous. It's located across the street from Cesar Chavez Park. The dining room is so lovely with 25 foot ceilings. It is simply stunning! The service and food quality was excellent. The artichokes were in the most amazing tarragon sauce. It was so flavorful. ! The Risotto was rich and satisfying. The tomato sauce was delicious. The grilled vegetables were perfect. I give this meal 6 Stars!

    Tombo Tuna Sandwich
    Rachel K.

I stopped in on a Thursday around 2pm with a colleague and while we were secretly hoping lunch would still be served, we were happy to find that their Bar Bites menu was available. I ordered a white linen and the Tombo Tuna Sandwich ($24), my colleague got the Farm Green Salad and added chicken ($16 + $13 for chicken) and we ordered Hummus and Flatbread ($15) to share. I did brag about this spot and how good the food was, so although it's a bit on the more expensive side I promised her it would be worth it. While the food was delicious, the service fell a bit short. Since it was Bar Bites menu time they had the bar area as open seating and said we could sit anywhere. We opted for one of the longer tables near the bar, but not at the bar, and while our server brought water out and took our orders they accidentally brought salmon instead of chicken initially for the salad (they did quickly fix this), and on the final bill charged for the salmon ($2 more, not a huge deal but still), and didn't really check on us or refill our waters. We also ended up heading to the bar to pay since they didn't check in on us towards the end. I would recommend sitting at the bar if you're not seated at a real table, which we would have done if we knew they were short staffed. The food is excellent, but I'd avoid the time between lunch and dinner based off this experience, or find a spot at the bar.

Happy hour draft beer + a shot for $12! Would also recommend the Brussels on happy hour for $12! Quiet and cozy hotel bar ambience.

Ask the Community - Grange Restaurant & Bar

What time is happy hour during the week?

    4 to 6

Is there valet parking on Sunday for lunch?

Yes, the valet parking is provided by the Citizen's Hotel.

Is this a restaurant that offers sustainable produce and meats?

Do they have private dining space for 8 people?

I really don't know. The restaurant is a good size.

Having breakfast with family at Grange this Saturday and would like to find out what the parking situation is? Is there a self parking near by?

    We use valet parking.

    Where is affordable parking?

City hall parking structure about a block or two away. It was $1.50 per half hour and capped off at $5.00 maximum.

    Valet parking cost?

Unfortunately, the price varies depending on whether there is a King's game or event at Golden 1 Center. We paid $25.00 the evening we were out. If you look up parking online, that is the best way to guarantee your price and location and I did that.…

We decided for our last night all together we would pick a highly rated one for a special meal. Magpie Cafe right in downtown fit the bill and we were thoroughly impressed by everything. We ordered just about every special plus many other dishes, some multiple, from appetizers through to desserts. It's in a beautiful area of the city, open to the street and green park. We opted to sit outside as it was a lovely evening. The beer menu had some regional favorites, all small and well chosen. For food we went all out, and I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Everything was so colorful and presented beautifully. Highlights were the pickles, fried asparagus, anchovies, and croquettes. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about our dishes, she added to the experience. If you're in the area, this restaurant is worth a stop. They even have a cafe in the airport!

The drink contained gin, strawberry syrup, and fresh lemon basil. It was light and refreshing and the perfect spring summer drink. Then we had the baby eggplant which was marinated in a soy glaze. It also had some sort of peanut sauce base. This was a delightful bite. Both of us were very impressed. The presentation was gorgeous. Clearly still on my eggplant craze. One of the reasons we went to Magpie was for the trout dip. In a shocking turn of events, they didn't have it. I think it was an old menu. Maybe their winter menu. This was a bummer. Instead, they had a salmon dip. We got that, and I wish it was more flavorful/smokey. Normally, I'm not a smokey seasoning person, but I think it goes nicely with fish. The chips though were really good. I love a kettle chip. I thought they would be thicker, since the dip was thicker. I'm glad they served the dip with the spoon. We also had the stone fruit salad. I was shocked it didn't come with a cheese, but after I tasted it, the creamy yogurt successfully filled that void. Once again, the plating was gorgeous. I think the peaches were good, but I can tell that later in the summer, these peaches will be even more delectable. I think the pistachios were an excellent choice to this salad. For my main course, I had the painted hills flat iron steak with a Chimichurri sauce and crispy smashed potatoes. The steak was well cooked, and with the seasoning of the chimichurri, it was a delightful bite. Sam had the gnocchi with pesto and fresh tomatoes. The gnocchi was fluffy. Both she and I thought that the pesto was good, but we both wish that we wish there was more of it. I love pesto though, so I am always going to think that. It came in dollops, rather than mixed in, so I think that was part of the problem. We also had to get dessert. I had the ice cream sandwiches. They were made with lemon thyme shortbread cookies with vanilla Guenther's Ice Cream. I wish it was a stronger vanilla taste or a flavored ice cream. The cookies were too good though. Sam had the lavender panna cotta. Normally I am not a huge panna cotta fan, but this one was delicious. It had such a strong lavender taste, in a good way. It kind of tasted like I was eating lotion because of the thickness of the panna cotta with the lavender flavor.

Still refreshing and tasty, but I think it was a bit overkill on sugar. For our mains, we tried the rigatoni bolognese, trio of fries, and chicken tenders. All food and drinks for under $50! The portions were massive, especially the trio of fries, which I was not expecting. The sweet potato fries were a bit soggy compared to the other 2, which were significantly crispier. The chicken tenders were ok and probably the least exciting thing we ordered haha. On the other hand, the bolognese was by far the standout! Flavorful, rich, creamy and the cheese pull from the pasta was to die for. Our server was super cool and patient with us, as it was our first time coming here.
