This is definitely a great store with many options from of course hardware to home goods. SOME employees are definitely friendly and courteous with their costumers. However, other costumers should really just mind their OWN business, get what they need and go on with their lives, especially when they don't know that some of these employees are 10% work and 90% talk. Check yourself before you check other people. If you didn't like the service and never want to go back........ GOODBYE, there's the door and be careful you cuz might end up TRIPPIN. My only suggestion is this store should give credit to those who actually do their jobs and for those who don't, well it won't last long. read more

Went to Pagano's Hardware randomly to get one of my roller skate bolts tightened that loosened on my skate session nearby. We were directed to I believe Gus who was in the back of the store making keys. He had a customer ahead who he interacted with nicely and helped us shortly after and was pleased to helped. Employees also seemed to know some of the customers in the store so it made it feel more welcoming in there. Gus is a lifesaver though, and did it with a smile and some good stories! I wasn't sure about this place at first. It's just like the hardware five and dimes that are abundant in SF, but bigger, and at first glance, unfriendlier. We needed some help, and it seems that the gentleman we first approached was busy doing something else for someone else because he completely ignored us until he was finished. Not a glance up, not an "I'll be right with you," nothing. He did eventually help us though, so I guess I can't lament too much. It's nice to have another option, but I guess I'll stick to my local, or to my local big box when I need actual assistance. read more

I think this story has decent inventory and is well-organized. However, I dislike the customer service. I have been here at least 6 times, and on half of those times I feel like I am inconveniencing the staff by asking them questions. I actually bought a Weber grill here out of convenience. While the initial sale wasn't a problem, upon delivery, the grill was missing the rain cover and drip tray. I returned to the store. First, when I asked one of the employees (a manager, I believe) for the drip tray off of one of the floor models (or any other model), he looked at me funny and explained that this was going to really inconvenience them, and I should just call Weber to ask for it. So I gave up on that. Then, when I requested the rain cover (that I had already paid for), he tried to convince me that my wife had already picked it up earlier in the week. Unbelievable -- as if I don't see her every day. In the end, he gave me my rain cover, but this is simply unacceptable service in my mind. read more

This place is in some serious need of an employee revamp. There is never a cashier on hand and the employees that are around will redirect you to the empty cash register and tell you to wait. It's a real shame because the store is actually very well stocked and very well organized. However, it is in serious need of some TLC in the customer service aisle. I've been shopping at Paganos for 20 years now. It's ALWAYS the place to find those hard to find items. Yesterday I went in with a REALLY dire situation. I had a task that needed to be solved, but I wasn't sure how to handle it. Ray managed to MacGyver me an item that TOTALLY solved my problem. He really knew what was in the store. I always have a good experience at this location. I have purchased a Weber Genesis grill from here. They assembled and delivered to my house at no additional cost. Most recently, I came in here with every intention of buying a new garbage disposer. After speaking with a staff member, he recommended that I tried something to repair myself. Swapped out two propane tanks at Pagano's. The purchase and swap of tanks could not have gone any faster. You go to the cashier to pay for the tanks. Then you drive around back and someone from Pagano's is waiting with the new tanks! It's probably more expensive than getting the tank at a big box store, but if you're willing to pay more so you can wait less time for the tank swap, Pagano's is the way to go. I've swapped out tanks at the big box stores like Home Depot or Walmart, but it takes a lot longer. I've gone first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds, but then the few employees there early in the morning don't seem to know how to do the swap. There's always someone there to help you with anything. Senior discount day is Thursdays from 9a-1p, for those keeping score. read more

My family loves this store. It's a small hometown hardware store that carries items that large box stores don't often keep stocked. The staff is friendly and always tries to be helpful. If you need help with something they're not familiar with then they can usually refer you to someone who is able to assist. read more

I understand the frustration of the other posters who have had trouble at this store but you have to remember that it is a brand new store with brand new staff, there is going to be a learning curve. I find the store to be great when I just need one or two quick things and I am already shopping at Safeway or BB&B. It saves me from driving all the way over to Lincoln and spending 15 minutes trying to find a place to park. I still think the Lincoln store has a lot more character and I can get lost in there for hours just browsing but Town Center is very convienent. PS It is not an Ace store, it is Do it Best like the Lincoln store. How do you go about changing that? The name of the store should be Paganos Town Center. read more

This store has some very good deals on many items, but they don't always seem to stock enough for everyone that would be interested in purchasing. The store is arranged in a very practical manner, it is very easy to navigate around to find what you need and won't take you all day to gather your items as it would in a larger store like Home Depot. This store is better maintained than some of the larger chain hardware stores, usually I find countless items misplaced or on the ground, but here everything seems to be in its proper place. read more

I'm really at a loss for why folks feel slighted here. This is my go-to hardware store because they have something really rare and amazing: HARDWARE. Aisles and aisles of it, actually. Even really esoteric things like metal knock-out caps, or hardened metric capscrews. I love it. Self-service bins and little baggies like it should be. None of this prepackaged 3-pack of stainless nuts in a total jumble like you find at the 'Po (Home Depot). I guess I rarely rely on the staff for any kind of fix-it knowledge, and I also don't buy kitchenware here except on a lark, so that's probably where the diverging opinions come from. I'll say this: If you're a handy person, know what you're looking for, need a hardware store, and are able to make it during slightly-better-than-normal business hours, PAGANOS IS YOUR PLACE. read more

I had a housewarming party on Friday and, since I had the day off, decided to stop by to pick up some things. I needed two things: a spigot, and a light bulb. Upon entering the store I was greeted by an employee. He asked if I needed any help so I explained why I was visiting. He walked me over to where the spigots were and gave me a heads up of which were pricey and which weren't. Before walking off, he asked if I needed anything else. Well... My family heirloom cabinet has a hutch that has a light in it (I like to stash all the alcohol in there so its easily displayed when I need it, but hidden away when I don't need it!) The light bulb burnt out, so I brought it with me to Paganos so I could find it easily. After handing over the bulb to the employee, he asked how many I wanted and proceeded to go find the light bulb for me while I picked which spigot I wanted! Needless to say, I was very satisfied with the customer service. It made my visit efficient, short, and easy! I hope the manager of the store sees this review and gives that employee a raise or something ( because after reading a couple of reviews it sounds like their customer service is hurt'n bad D: ) Anyhoo, my visit was awesome! read more

This place has everything I need, from potato peelers to tea pots to light bulbs to stud finders. And that was just this morning's trip! I always stop here first; I usually don't have to go to any of the box stores at South Shore, because I've taken care of all my needs in one stop here at Paganos. They're helpful and friendly there, and I've never felt rushed. I do appreciate that they always ask for ID with credit card purchases. Rooting for the home town team here! read more

Fantastic service!!!!! I came by here just to browse around and boy let me tell you, they have almost everything you could possibly need. Prices are decent and they carry name brand items. From lawn mowers, to BBQ grills to cooking pots. They have it. I forgot the gentleman's name who helped me out but he has a wife that works at the other store on Lincoln, this guy is a cool cat. I had a great day till I came in this store. This lady employee named LORNA, is barking at her co-worker in front of us, the customers. That is just so RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL of her. Her co-worker was running around in the store busy and this LORNA keeps on SCREAMING at him. And there was one time Lorna barks at him when one time he asked her a work related question.I would never come back at this store again. I was going to go here even though I have had some less than stellar experiences in the past, and then I started reading the reviews and realized that I was not the only person that the employees ignored in order to carry on a private conversation while they were supposed to be working. It's good work if you can find it, I will admit, but most people want to exchange actual work at their business with a paycheck. The prices and selection aren't good enough to make up for your terrible 'workers'. At least, it is possible that the people they pay to gossip do some minuscule amount of work at some point during the calendar year. What does the manager do if they don't manage the other employees? If I were the owner, I would spend some time finding out. read more
