I was super excited to get a haircut after being let down by other stylists. Aside from no one answering the phone at first I was optimistic about the haircut. An hour and a 1/2 later I found I looked the same just with bangs. The layers and other details we discussed were not met even after 3 additional corrections. I expect if I'm paying minimum $100 for a haircut that there be a noticeable difference. My hair was blow-dried with some powder and wasn't styled. What a treat it is to come into Pageboy. Aesthetically is cool, welcoming and full of good vibes. I've struggled in the past to find someone who can keep my hair from turning brassy - but Blair gets it right every time. I have been getting my hair dyed and glossed (black) with Alex C. but had the itch for a change. I quickly booked an apt with him and surprised him with wanting to go red! He didn't hesitate to support my idea and walked me through all the steps since bleach would be involved. Y'all, Rosario is the QUEEN of layers . It's so hard for me to find a hair stylist that can deliver what I want. Not only did Rosario meet my expectations, she EXCEEDED them. Cut: I asked for a 90s-esque, butterfly cut (think Rachel cut 2.0) with face framing layers that started around chin length and she absolutely killed it. Stylist: Rosario has 5+ years of experience and has a background in fashion. You know she's going to give you that editorial worthy cut! Master at razor cutting, very laid back, loved her vibe. Salon: Immaculate. Upon entry I was offered choices of beverages (I believe water and tea were amongst the options). The salon is small and quaint, but designed in an open layout that makes it seem much roomier. Super friendly and chill staff. I went a while back and booked an appointment with Rosario. This was my first time coming into a hair salon in America, and I was severely disappointed. I needed a haircut for my college graduation and requested her to give me some voluminous layers. She was a very kind girl, sweet and talkative, and walking out of the salon, my hair looked beautiful. However, two days later, the day of my graduation, I went to another salon to get it styled. After that stylist washed my hair, she told me the back of my head was completely uneven. I said that's not possible; I just got it cut. She took a picture and showed me, and sure enough, one half of my head was about an inch shorter than the other half, and there were these awful, unblended little stubs all around my hair. She even showed me how uneven my bangs are now. I had to get my hair recut just to make it even. I had such high expectations for Pageboy. I now get all my hair services done at Pageboy. Of course, after they spent hours bringing my hair back to life I went back for more hair extensions. Pedro installed my new hair and this time we went a bit longer and I love it! He did a great job of trimming my hair to make sure the extension blends with my natural hair. She is not going to give you a color that will look like shit on you and she has a solid understanding of proportions and facial aesthetics, so she's never going to to recommend something that's unflattering. She is a salon owner who invests in her staffs' growth and education, and what is most apparent is that each stylist is encouraged to develop their own personal vibe and personality. I was first recommended Pageboy Salon from another amazing San Jose stylist who happened to be booked up that day. As I entered the salon, I found the vibe to be welcoming and the folks kind. (Not an ounce of pretense that you can get from some high end salons!) My regular stylist is Blair, an intuitive, yet precision-oriented stylist. You can tell from Blair's focus and time that she takes on your hair, that she is committed to excellence in her craft.
